[Q] Gorilla glass and launcher question? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does the tab 2 10.1 have gorilla glass? Also when using a launcher does it also change the bottoms on the bottom left where the home key is? Does it get rid of the Samsung camera button I mean?

There's a little mod that will get rid of the screenshot icon. That has to be one of the weirder things Samsung has done lately.
Go to the Tab 2 7.0 Dev subforum to find the mod and instructions on how to use.

Any protector feel like glass?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 enjoying Coke Classic at the speed of liz-ite.
Nope. No need for screen protectors on glass screens anyway unless you don't take care of your $800 devices.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk
You can still get scratches even if you take care of it, just from daily use. Id rather have a screen protector still. Plus no gorilla class.

Highly recommended.

I HATE screen protectors, but I just got my first glass scratch I've had ever. I don't even know how I did it, but my Skyrocket has a 1" scratch at the bottom of the screen. You can't feel it, and you can't see it with the screen on, but with the screen off and the right lighting you can see it. Annoys me a little (that it happened) but its the risk you take
im pretty sure the skyrocket does have gorilla glass
No the skyrocket has no gorilla glass

The Skyrocket DOES have gorilla glass. Cornings website and the Samsung FAQ both state this. Also Google it, Google knows everything.

Is not the SR just an Americanized LTE SGS II?
Isn't the SGS II the last device on that list?
I'm sick of this gorilla glass argument LOL contact Samsung they will tell you that the skyrocket uses a scratch resistant screen but not gorilla glass if you go through the threads and search this topic has been squashed so many times I've lost count. So the high and mighty attitude drop it.

The entire Galaxy S & Galaxy S 2 lines are supposed to have Gorilla Glass. Any sibling phone included. (SG2 and SG2 LTE and so on...)
BTW: Nothing is scratch proof. Not Gorilla Glass, invisibleSHIELD, or any other screen protector. You still must take care of your device, and accidents happen.
http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/products-with-gorilla/samsung
I think the reason you don't get it from Samsung support is because they are scripted to use whatever is in front of them. If you look at the spec sheet for the Skyrocket you won't see the actual processor. I bet if you called and asked what processor it had in it all you would get is "1.5 GHz dual-core processor".
To Answer the OP: Get it replaced http://www.zagg.com/support/register/replacement_process.php

Thank you. That's the point I was trying to convey in my previous reply and had no intent to be hi nor mighty.
As you stated the Galaxy S II is the base model. It's a logical thought that the child version from the base would maintain the same base features while adding specific tweaks to that revision of the device.
As referenced in this link with the original Galaxy S (Dubbed i9000, Vibrant, and Captivate) was released in three variants but all had the same basic design structure.
Wasn't trying to start a pissing match.. It is surprising some times how XDA conversations degrade amazingly fast to that point.
I googled and found sites for and against so who knows.

Newbie here, thought I'd get in my first post. I have been going through ALL of the threads here to get up to speed, I've got a SGH-I727R coming that I was able to get for FREE from Rogers!
Anywhoo, I as well have noticed the quick degradation on threads. Lots of short fuses and overreaction.

Markyzz says good but from my own experience doing screen replacements is a thing that must be usually done by professional people or at least people with tools. There's always something that can go wrong. And first of all is the electrostatic discharge that can fry some sensitive components inside phone.

They say "Corning Gorilla Glass"
It has gorilla glass. It is listed even on the official company site which has all the gorilla glass embeded devices... Gorilla glass is not breakproof only scratchproof and this only to some extend.
look at ebay, there are many complete packs for replaceing the display, including tools for opening the phone.

I have yellow spots on my screen, should I replace my display or there is some other solution, is there anyone who solve this and how? While I was using Promethius ROM with WiFi on phone gets hot and yellow spots are totaly visible like the screen stating to burn. Good one with Gorilla and banana.
Do you have warranty for your phone?
I would try flashing back to stock, unroot and call LG support.

[Q] Anyone have experience with ClearPlex screen protector?

Anyone tried this one? Doesn't appear to be made with glass...

The demo is impressive, they shoot the phone screen with a gun and it comes out "okay"... Of course they didn't turn the thing on.

That's fine but I think the main point is this isn't (I think) a glass product, but is as tough.

Well depends how they make it... I've had protectors that you couldn't tell and others that were "textured" to offer resistance (for those who find the glass too slick).
Doesn't look like anyone has ever used one of these. I might just get it to see...

Replacement camera glass

I'm looking for one, my Nexus fell and I have a hairline crack in it.
It's not in the way at all I'm just kinda anal about it for no reason at all.
So far all the places I normally go to only have the Display/Battery Door/Battery in stock..
If anyone can find it I'd appreciate it a bunch

I realize this is an old thread but I'd also like to know if it's possible to replace the glass covering the camera. My phone took a tumble last weekend and now I've got quite a nice crack on that glass. I've done some googling but haven't come up with much, does anybody know if it's possible to get replacement glass, and if so from where?

Awesome, thanks folks!
After you recieve the replacement part and you replace it in the phone, can you please try to "broke" the spoiled "glass" to discover if it is true glass or plastic?

I found this one today if you dont want to youse the Edges of your Note 7. I think its more protectet and you can use a flat glass.
Does anyone now similiar Cases like this that hides the Edge Screen ?
