What is the service called so I can freeze it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
You cant freeze that. There is nothing to freeze.
Why not just go to the Security portion of settings and disable the lockscreen? Just dont put any pattern, pin, or anything. Then anytime you lock the screen it just powers down the screen, hit the power button and its back on, no lock screens of any kinds.

Thanks.
But I want a lockscreen.
I use WidgetLocker and every once in awhile, I get the stock lockscreen and have to swipe it away, then I get the Widgetlocker screen immediately after and have to swipe that away also.
And a couple other buggy type gremlin stuff. Nothing serious, just bits of annoying.
So it would be easier if I could just delete or freeze the stock lockscreen.

Your not going to be able to freeze it because its not really an app to freeze. Its part of the android.policy.jar and framework-res.apk file. This is what the rom makers mess with when they forcing say the AOSP lockscreen.
As far as why the stock one keeps showing up, something is not right, if you set the lockscreen to none on the security settings, then the widgetlocker should be the only one showing up, you shouldnt have two lockscreens. That only happens if you have the security set to a native lockscreen and then widget locker is sitting on top of that.

Huh, if that's the way it's supposed to be done, then I wonder why WidgetLocker doesn't do it for me.
I just turned off the lockscreen in security (I think) and WidgetLocker is still working. I assumed it would be disabled also, if I turned off lockscreen. We'll see if this does the trick. Thanks.
The lockscreen settings in the settings tab only affects the original one, it cant adjust the widgetlocker one. It doesnt even know about that.
So if you removed the lockscreen from settings, it wont show the original samsung one anymore. If they still have Widgetlocker installed and enabled, it will then be your lockscreen. If you dont want that, then you need to disable Widgetlocker and either get another one you like or put the samsung one back on since you said you still want some type of lock screen, otherwise you wont have any lock screen, just a screen power off.
The lockscreen apps unfortunately cant modify the existing base OS code, they litterally just sit on top of the existing one and sort of inject themselves in there by you giving them the default. But if the stock/samsung one is enabled it still goes into effect, thats why you end up with two lockscreens. So basically you need to enable just one of them.

Yep, it looks like you can disable any security settings that pertain to the default lockscreen. Like removing a pin, or special drawing function to unlock.
But it doesn't actually remove the lockscreen itself.
So I tried "No Lock":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...nolock&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
This completely disables the default lockscreen.
But on reboot, you still see the lockscreen for like two seconds, then it goes away on its own.
I'll try this combo with WidgetLocker for awhile to see how it works. So far so good, but the real test will be over a few days use.
Sometimes that stock lock screen would come up when I bring the phone out of deep sleep. It's fairly rare, just enough to be a small annoyance.

Are you on a rom with 14 toggle? If It has a locksreen toggle, thats what I used when I used golocker. It never showed stock, except on a reboot.

wondering if the was a apk or something to get the HTC desire's lock screen on the Mesmerize?
could I just install this apk file or would I have to edit it?

As that link goes to a file called "VillainROM10.2-DesireLockScreen-signed.zip" I would highly not recommend flashing that as it has the words "Desire" & "ROM" in it.

Luckily the package only contains a system/app folder with HtcLockScreen.apk in it. Also, the update script contains compatibility code, so it probably won't even work. If it does, it won't do anything but copy the apk over so it shouldn't hurt anything.
This is what the update script looks like:
assert compatible_with("0.2") == "true"
assert getprop("ro.product.device") == "hero"
show_progress 0.1 0
copy_dir PACKAGE:system SYSTEM:
show_progress 0.2 10
---EDIT--
The apk itself is also mdpi, so even if you made it work it would look like crap.
well i kind of got what i wanted though lock bot but I have a problem
I downloaded lock bot free and i got it set up but for some reason when my screen goes blank the first time I try tuning it on it always flashes to the mesmerize lockscreen then flashes to the lockbot screen the goes blank then when i turn the screen on the 2nd time it goes to lockbot screen and lets me unlock it then it goes to mesmerize lockscreen so I have to deal with 2 lock screens. anyone no whats up?

You are running an app that works in conjunction with your lock screen and doesn't replace it. What you want is to either turn your stock lock screen off, which is another app, and then run this app to use your own lock screen.
I'm just theorizing here, but it looks good on paper.
which app would u suggest to turn off the stock lock screen? or is there a all in one?
I've had that problem with EVERY lock screen replacement i've tried on the mes. Lockbot has an option that you check to disable the stock lock screen. Doesn't matter it always comes back and double locks the phone. It seems completely random. It can work right for hours and suddenly that damn stock lock comes back for a few unlocks and then normal again.
It also seems the longer you have a lock app on there as time passes the stock screen starts coming back more and more.
I wish i could uninstall the damn stock screen completely so it wasn't there at all as there seems to be not one locking app that works on this phone correctly.
widget locker is what I use... You can have the HTC sense lockscreen, iphone, or have your own customizable lock screen where you can set any shortcut as a sliding lockscreen. Very cool app!
It's $1.99 but well worth it IMO

But widget locker still has that problem. I tried it last week and gave up on it because no matter what it would show the normal lockscreen for about a second before widget locker would show up.
I've been using No Lock with a pattern lock enabled, I use the widget to unlock it and bypass the lockscreen completely and then if I lock it it only shows the pattern lock instead of the crappy stock lockscreen.

That usually only happens to me on boot... If you wait a sec it goes away but yeah it would be nice if you never saw it

I also just installed the NoLED tweak, it's pretty much my lockscreen. Displays icons and stuff on an otherwise black screen while my phone is locked like for notifications, then pressing the back button takes you to my pattern lock and then the homescreen. I like it.

I've also been using no lock widget and it's working great - no more lock screen for me.
I've tried running some other lock screens because i hate the stock one. none of them work. They work for awhile and then suddenly you'll use the new one and the stock one will be there after words so essentially the phone is double locking.
Anyone know a way to fix this so i can use a different lock screen and not have it double lock.
I use lock 2.0 its $2 on the market and i never had the double lock issue. If you use a task killer make sure that you exclude it
I find that if you install NoLock from the market and enable a pattern lock it disables the stock lockscreen, at least in my experience.
if you just enable a pattern lock it will disable the default one
I use widgetlocker.
It's $2 on the market, and development is active on it.
It works very nicely too, and allows you to clutter your lock screen with widgets. lol

I just got this and installed it and within the first hr i had 2 lock screens anyway around this i really want this working i cant stand the oem lock screen.
If you're still looking for a fix, try out GOTO Lockscreen. I switched from my NoLock idea to it, it does a good job of keeping the crappy stock lockscreen away.
It has a nice rotary slider with shortcuts at intervals on the slider, and a couple of other nice features. I think you would like it.

Does anyone know a good looking lockscreen that will show you 'miss call' ?
I dont know about missed calls, but Lock Bot is an excellent replacement lockscreen that seems to work perfectly in FroYo. There are a lot of styles too.

You could also try WidgetLocker. I wasn't a big fan of it on my Aria because it seemed laggy and I'd see the stock lockscreen a lot of times, but the Infuse appears to actually have enough power to run WidgetLocker correctly. There's all sorts of stuff you can do to modify your lockscreen with that. You could set up a WidgetLocker lockscreen and then use a widget of your choosing to display the information you want. I'm working on and off right now on designing a widget to display missed calls, unheard voicemail, unread texts, and probably some other stuff with minimalistic text. WidgetLocker isn't free though, so read up on it before you buy it. It does have some quirks.
I personly do not like the lock screen at all and I use No Lock so that as soon as I hit power it is on my home or apps. Just make sure you have Advace Task Manager ignore it.
ummm.... the stock one?!?! that shows missed calls.
How did you remove the stock lockscreen?

"No Lock" is the name of an app that will turn off the stock lock screen. Its in the market.
The SGS II lockscreen is nice and has it. You need a ROM with it.

well a couple days ago i was messing around with launchers. i had just finished installing and configuring my home screen for go launcher ex, and like it so much i decided to set it as the default homescreen app.
next i decided to install go locker and see if i liked any of their lock screens. so i installed one i liked and tested it. when i was satisfied with the appearance i decided to reboot the phone just so i can see it all settle in from a cold boot. but hadnt yet set go locker as default.
this is the part that gets interesting:
on boot everything started normal. but my default pin code screen came up. so i entered the pin and right after logging in a window popped up asking me which locker id like to use or select as default.
assuming this was the 'go locker' trying to launch itself after the fact on boot because it wasnt yet set as default i decided, what the heck let me set it as default right away so i can see it all boot up straight in. and im really glad i did.
i noticed after a while of using the device that accessing some programs like messaging, email and facebook that for some strange reason my default lock screen requesting the pin would pop up. id have to enter the pin for the app to actually launch. it was weird but i sorta liked it, and decided to get to the bottom of what caused this glitch over the past 24hrs.
it seems that the initial boot which asked me which locker i would like to use was an action launched by the status bar. thus, after setting it to use go locker erroneously as default, now any time i select a notification from the status bar, the pin code lock screen pops up requesting the pin before giving access to the notification. and for some reason, i really really like this.
i am thinking the lock screen is somehow embedded with the statusbar? wonder if any devs could shed some light on what configuration would cause this. and im interested in setting it manually to other apps as well. i dont mind that its my default pin code screen. what i like especially being able to lock apps with my default pincode screen. meaning i wouldnt have to install any additional software to achieve app launch security for specific apps. for now it only works on apps that notify me via the status bar. i figured out that much.

I've been running CM12 for a while now and the only thing I dislike about Lolipop is the lock screen. I really miss widgets and apps on my lock screen. I installed C Locker (Pro) which I had used on a different phone running KK and it works much better now on Lolipop. It is very customizable, I am using transparent clock/weather widget, calendar widget (Scrollable) and a number of app shortcuts. The only gotcha was I had to delete the Android guest account otherwise when I would unlock it would go to the Lolipop lock screen. You can setup up a lot of gesture actions, and click on the lock button turns the phone back off. Mine is probably gaudy and way too colorful for most but that's how I like it

I couldn't remember exactly so I went through it again
1- Switch user to the guest user in settings (have to go through initial setup for the guest user, I skipped everything I could in the setup process)
2- then go to back into the users in settings
3- instead of choosing your main user account to switch back to, select "remove Guest"
At this point, it switched me back to my original user, but the touch screen is not responsive
Pull battery and replace
once rebooted, go into C Locker, turn it off and then back on.
Then everything works fine.
The guest user will still show up in users, I guess it recreates it.
Hope this helps...

Thanks a lot for your quick reply but i found another way to disable it In Clocker ->Security->turn off default lock screen.. and you are done with it. But in this case you will miss out those beautiful floating notifications on lock screen.
