[Q] Who has received 2.10.401.4 OTA update for Htc Desire S

I would like people who has received this update, to post here:
1.Country
2.Mobile service provider
3.Time of update
Just to keep some track that what countries and service providers are currently receiving or already received it.

Appears that the OTA that came today updated the phone to "2.10.401.5" not "2.10.401.4"

Nobody receive OTA at all?

Nah the OTA being circulated is a dodgey version created by Samsung to ensure people jump boat from HTC to Samsung! BEEWWWWARREEE!

I have s-off and rooted Desire S.
Yesterday, OTA offers me Rom 2.3.5 sense 3.0 .
I canceled an offers. because of:
If I accepted OTA , will my phone be in the function or not?
How to revert back to my stock Rom 1.47.401 and hwboot 098.0002 ?

I don't know. But the answers must coming from users who have been updated and rooted also.
But I suppose than you loose your S-offing and your root.

ok having problems with phone seems like hardware but i called tmob and they asked for software ver .i didnt have it due to being ics!!!!!!! shhhh lol i need stock info as if all updates and non rooted phone
for all and any update as if it were up-to-date

That's the latest EU unbranded ROM version, T-Mobile US is the one above

Im not sure if this is the right place. But, does anyone from the UK have a Orange/T-Mobile HTC One XL (NOT the One X) if so could you state the carrier it is on, the software version and how much storage it has? Thanks

I was some what confused as well. But since its dual-core, I suppose this is the right place. Mine arrived 2 days ago from T-Mobile UK. around 25gb available storage and thw software version is 2.34.61.2

Just upgraded my htc one x to htc one XL from T-mobile, ive notice ive received and unbranded one , but i want to root it, any way on how to? can i use AT&T XL forum to root and use custom roms? help please?

They come unbranded from t-mo and orange in uk i think, but cid seems is of orange. Anyway use htcdev to unlock your bootloader then install TWRP recovery then you can flash supersu or similar.

Has this worked for anyone ?

Yes someone please confirm this...

I the specs, it states Orange but the device itself is unbranded. See this post for some images of the specs

ps @liamstears bootloder unlock and TWRP install works. I had issues with Widows 8 drivers but had a mac so did it on that instead

I have an EverythingEverywhere HTC One XL, and I used HTC Dev to successfully unlock the bootloader: http://htcdev.com/bootloader/
After doing so, I used fastboot to flash a CWM 'Touch' recovery image, then used fastboot *again* to flash the CM10 boot.img, then used CWM to finally install CM10.
(I discovered that if you try and install CM10 just using CWM, and without using fastboot to flash the boot image, then CM10 would fail to boot and would just sit on the boot logo indefinitely. I also found that the second time I installed CM10 that after flashing the boot image I had to reflash the recovery image)

I'm now looking for the stock RUU download. I can only find the OTA Jelly bean update in these forums

[Q] Revert to Stock for updates

To some of you this might sound dumb, but I indulged in rooting and s-off my m8, and am initerested in going back to stock and update. Every time I use the 0P6BIMG.zip su always comes back with it and I am unable to update. Any idea on what I can do to fix this or no? Thanks in advance.

You can always flash twrp an then update su app. Then do a full unroot then flash stock recovery an you should be good or
Download a stock odex ROM an uninstall su an then flash stock recovery

You would need to fastboot a stock recovery after you did everything needed to remove su... If you are a experience Linux user you can remove su from ruu before you flash it easy.

So u want to be stock to take ota just do one if 2 ways I said before. Myself I wouldn't take ota I would just flash firmware an flash a ROM an you be up to date.

If you are on the latest firmware but your custom rom is not running the new firmware will your phone show the old firmware ? Asking because I tried updating firmware a while back but I"am running viperone 1.8 and I think they have not updated the rom to the new firmware I have no clue why they have not as most roms have. And I dont want to ask on the rom forum because they the devs are a bit touchy about people asking about updates on the rom and I tried asking on the rom forum before and no one replied about it. I just know verizon told me that the new firmware is supposed to help with weak coverage areas like where I"am and they advised me to update my software to 1.55.605.2 and my phone shows 1.54.401.5 CL325784 This was what verizon told me back on 6-28-14

You can check your firmware an radios via the boot loader that will show u what firmware your on...your build keys r only what firmware your ROM is based on. There for viper being base in the international firmware which is 1.54. That is why you are seeing that info under about phone. Hey no worries you can post an ask things here no one will jump you like other places. If you have not updated to 1.55 from the old one which I believe was 1.12 or something like that. I would update the firmware to get the latest stuff like radios/hboot an etc.

My bootloader screen does not list the firmware it shows the hboot number and the radio which the radio is the latest one, which may be because I had flashed the new radio on its own so I may still not have the new firmware. It also lists april 1st 2014 and the hboot is 3.16.0.0000 So viperone uses the international firmware for the cdma verizon and sprint that seems odd ? Is the 1.54 the newest international firmware then ?

What does your OS in boot loader? That would be your firmware. An yea viper plus others base there Roms off 1.54 firmware. I don't use viper myself but pretty sure that's always up to date.
Edit. You can update your firmware an run viper no problem at all if that is what your wondering. As my wife m8 does run viper an she is up to date on everything. No issue at all. FYI.

So I might have messed up my phone (hopefully not). I was trying to back to stock but the RUU comes with SU installed, I already used this to "lock" my bootloader, and now firewater when i run it says the following "there really isn't a helluva lot to do here. bye bye".
if you have any suggestions let me know. For what you told me I want to go back to unlocked but might have screwed the pooch with the bootloader lock.

Meanwhile MaximusHD is on 1.27.401.5 so there's even another update in the works it seems. Let's see what number it'll when it arrives by the end of this month or mid September.
