Well, for the first days the battery life was great, going on almost a week and the battery life is bad, just as bad as other phones. The phone with regular use would by 9pm have aprox 40% left yesterday had 30% no today I am already getting a warning of low batt and use was normal...wow....this is not looking good
Just curious...what apps do you have under your "Accounts" area in Settings set to sync?
What apps do you have running persistently (check your notification drawer)?
Screenshot of your battery usage?

my battery is low or around 30% at 12am when i sleeep sooooo
Out of habit I plugged mine in via PC USB for an hour (charging it an extra 50% from 8%) but according to my battery stats I'm rocking nearly two full days (1d 22h) from 100% with only an hour plugged in while gaming....with me being in an area with one bar to no signal for over 10 he's today. My GS2 couldn't do that .

Edit: oh, and I'm still at 42% typing this ;-)
hmm, rogue app that you installed??
mine has been great since day 1 with no hiccups. 15hrs or so with 3+ screen time yields me about 25% battery left at end of the day
Yeah, not really impressed with the battery life either, barely make it through the day with moderate use. Screen is a killer!
Sent from my HTC One X
17h 30m with 52% capacity left after moderate use today (2 hours reading the news with various apps on LTE/4G and the rest of the day on WiFi, with maybe an hour browsing, updating apps and fiddling). CPU - 7.05% at 1.5 GHz, 4.85% at 1.13 GHz, 3.07% at 810 MHz, 80.64% at 384 MHz with the remainder of CPU usage scattered in between. Pretty good really - much better than my HTC Desire.
Use BetterBatteryStats and check for rogue apps sucking battery.
After that, if your phone still is dying incredibly quickly, just use the phone until it dies. Then boot into hboot (volume down and power button together, a white screen with blocky text and some androids on the bottom will show up), and keep that open until the phone shuts off again. Then do a full charge to 4.2v.
Try a number of battery saver apps / tips

I had a Desire, have a Xoom & now a X. Found with large screen devices you have to use those normal tips such as screen brightness, rougue app killing, sync for FB / mail. Rooted the HTC when first purchased with Leedroid to fix battery. Got 50% more from just that process. Didn't wait for the first OTA upgrade to fix that first horror release. Suggest:
a) batterysaver (or similar) on all devices - I reckon it gives a little %.
b) Turn off all apps not being used
c) Turn down screen
d) Turn off Bluetooth / GPS / etc when you don't need them
e) In car, at work, use charger
Gotta love smart phones. If you use it, you will lose it. (Battery that is).

- Root it and remove all the bloatware.
- Turn off auto brightness and set it at a fixed level (minimum is too dark, I have it set a little above minimum)
- Only enable wifi/gps when you need them
- If you need sync, turn down the syncing intervals
I get great battery life on this thing. There must be something you are doing. What do you mean by 'regular use'? Are you playing games for hours on end?
I seem to be having the same problem. Last screen shot I had I was at 37% with 16 hours. Now I'm sitting right now at 40% with 5 hours. Not sure what's sucking up all the juice. I don't have any sketchy apps installed. Might delete them one by one see how that goes because something is seriously draining the battery and I know it's not normal.

Turn off auto brightness if u have it on. My battery is amazing, even at full brightness, but auto is too agressive and drains more that it saves

my battery was horrible. In fact I went to take it back to att. He told me to try a complete factory reset and try it factory without any extra apps installed. So I did and my battery is sooo much better during my "test" before I couldn't get more then 9 hours with 3 hour screen time but now look at it. I'm guessing ny case it's an app like task killer or something I had on the phone killing the battery. Now to figure out what it was.

I just got over 36 hours on one charge and had 16% left. That was riding a motorcycle for 3 hours through the mountains where I know there is spotty coverage plus a 2 hour conference call on Friday.
One thing I've noticed, check your wireless settings and make sure Best Wi-Fi Performance is unchecked. I had that turned on and got about 9 hours on a charge. Turned it off and fantastic battery life.

Yea there are definitely some rogue apps that will kill your battery. Best bet install an app one at a time and see which one starts affecting battery life.

My brightness is set at 20% and I turned gmail sync off. When I charged it to full this morning it was only at 4.177 is that normal? Some people mention that theirs is at 4.2.

i'm with you. I have seen some posts on here about 4.2 and noticed some say 4.3 should be achievable. Perhaps they are rounding up the 4.177 to get the 4.2? I, too, charge to exactly 4.177 in morning on full overnight charging. Actually, my device is 4.187 until i unplug, when it immediately drops to 77. That said, my battery life has been great in the 9 days since my initial day or two with the phone.

I've actually used it and have been pretty happy with the battery life. I use medical apps during the day while in the hospital, keep the phone on 4G while in the hospital, no wifi, bluetooth and gps still on because I'm too lazy to turn them off every time i get out of my car in the morning. I'll send/receive e-mails throughout the day, and use the browser to look things up on UpToDate. My screen is locked at about 30% brightness. Email sync is set to push, two exchange accounts and two gmail accounts.
I've lasted a 14 hour day at work with 20-30% battery remaining. Haven't had to use my second battery which I bought just in case. Quite happy with the results.

Hey guys, take a look at this Sensation interview from Anandtech which shows exceptional battery life while browsing with 3G Data, but not so much with Wifi. Are you guys experiencing similar battery usage?
I'm looking to upgrade from a Nexus One and judging from their tests, Sensation will bring me nearly double the 3G browsing time, this sounds too good to be true with the dual core processor and a bigger screen!

I use to get 12-14 hours with moderate to heavy use at times using stock settings. I'm now at 14 hours with 48% left after taking all the bloatware out and freezing them in TB! Eugene hooked it up with his temp root file!
I'm sitting at 13% after 15 hours right now. That's with medium usage - a fair amount of Twitter, browsing, forums throughout the day, screen at 25%, and my Google, Twitter and Facebook accounts auto-syncing. I have as much bloatware turned off as I can, given I'm not rooted.

I'm coming from the Samsung Fascinate (Verizon CDMA Galaxy S) and I'm very happy with the battery life on the Sensation.
Twice this past week I forgot to charge the phone and went 1 day + 6 hours before the phone started to alert me that I was at 10-20%.
I'm real cautious as to what syncs automatically and what syncs manually. I don't use Twitter, but I do use most of everything else. The only thing that I can remember off-hand that syncs automatically is 1 of my gmail accounts to the HTC E-mail app. Everything else is on a delayed schedule, but syncs when I open those respective apps.

unless you are doing something which is _using_ both cores, the 8260 allows each core to be scaled separately, so there's no automatic power penalty as there is with some of the other dual core processors.
So I've had this phone for a week now. Its a nice upgrade from my infuse 4g. But the battery life is killing me. I've tried every Tom.available specifically for the skyrocket and even the one kernel in the dev section. My brightness is 15% and I use juice defender set to every 30 min. I listen to Pandora for an hour and it drops 20%. Yesterday it was dead in 6 hours. Its to the point where I'm seriously considering going back to my infuse. Has anyone else had issues?

Currently have juice defender, 0.2 kernel (didnt update and probably wont for now), and a few apps frozen by Titanium Backup. If I hardly touch the phone, it would last 41 hours. With medium usage, (Wifi, web browse, using poweramp for some time, calls, emails, etc) It would easily last my entire day.

I have JuiceDefender Ultimate set to balanced, I have only the clock widget running, I have GPS running continuously, (I use Wifi occassionally), I have screen set to about 50% and with very normal usage, the battery is at about 20-25%. I have a good number of email accounts and they are polled constantly, notifications are normal (phone settings), I use the Market app and the browser a number of times a day and I hear the occasional podcast. By the way, listening a podcast for about 1 hour (I use BeyondPod and earphones) results in minimal battery usage (about 2% for an hour or so).
So, I have to say that I am quite happy with battery life.
I know what you mean.
I had a stock skyrocket running in a weak LTE market in New Orleans and it would last like 8 hrs then I rooted and frooze all the bloat ware and de-installed a lot of app that were always using the web. I manually set my screen brightness. And changed the launcher to go launcher. Getting 18-20 hrs lots of moderate usage lte and all.
Yea something is wrong. I don't even use juice defender yet my phone last all day wit like 20% when I get home at 9. I use it to talk at least 3-4 and moderate usage for internet and am in wifi a lot. Youtube umm often..Defective maybe??

How do you turn off LTE?
look in settings, about phone, battery and see what is using all your battery. Battery life is very good on the stock ROM, rooted or not. You might also want to install Traffic Monitor and set it up for your billing cycle properly. Then watch for a few days to see what apps are using data. I do not recommend turning off LTE.
BTW there is already a very good Freeze list of Apps...

I was also having very low battery times on my SR to the point it was draining about 5% every half hour. I checked everything and everything was set properly. Yesterday was ready to pack it up to exchange it and thought I try restoring the phone. After restoring it, I now get excellent battery life. I'm getting about 1% battery drop every hour. Today tested throughout the day and listened to some music, some web browsing, a few FB posting, a call for 20 minutes and have 95% battery life left.

I've had pretty bad battery life here in the DC area (LTE is available here). It'll last about 6-7 hours with very mild use. Maybe I should restore it?
What did you do @ElCamino to reset it? Maybe I'll try that too (though I'll hate having to set it back up again).
Also, I turned juice defender back on today, and I've noticed that it seems to be keeping the device "Awake" even when the screen is off. I have it on "balanced." Can anyone give me a little advice on setting it up correctly. I can't seem to get it to let me open more granular settings.
So I am starting to wonder if there are some defective units being shipped. My wife and I both have a Skyrocket. Mine is great, been using it for 13.5 hours today on medium usage. I currently have 63% battery life left. I am completely stock, no juice defender or any other like programs. I even had No-LED installed and used my flashlight app for about 5 solid minutes.
My wife on the other hand has the exact same setup as I do. She complains she barely gets through half a day with medium usage. I charged up her phone earlier today. 7 hours ago I took it off the charger. She has used it with very light usage in that time and it is down to 60% already. When I say light usage I mean sitting on the table for at least 6.5 of those hours. Often she charges it up while watching TV at night. Takes it off the charger when she goes to bed and by morning the batter is at least half drained.

Battery probably around same or slightly worse, but its 4g and 32 gig, its easily rooted, alot of different roms n looks, its really great, and ive only had 8 days. I am a advanced flasher also, done roms atleast 1000 times.

Thats easy, on most 2.1/3.0, aosp, overclocking not necessary, i can get 10-12 hours, n i dont care, i got 3 chargers. Its a good phone imo. U can run 3.5 with beats easy on this phone, but 2.1 with sound enhancer is just s good.

It depends on how u use it.
This is what I have left after few calls, browser, exchange+gmail+Facebook sync & 1 hr of Pandora
Only MIUI ROM so far I could achieve this. The other rom Ive tried is shiftao5p
Lastly if u are in 1-2 bars area, your battery will run out fast

I bought the rezound battery and noticed a pretty big difference. Also, I finally gave up sense roms and went with liquid smooth 3.2. Battery has been phenomenal. I can get through an entire day, even on 4G and moderate to heavy usage (screen on 4 hours) and not worry about battery until I'm in my bed messing around before I'm about to plug in and fall asleep.
Edit: here is me on wifi all day using up the battery with almost 4 hrs screen on time. On pure 3g 4G I'd be closer to 20-30 percent.
My GF has the extended battery and can go two days without charging (light use)
Loving the phone by by iPhone but anyway. Just rooted and messing around with these roms. Just don't know which one to stick with their are so many.
I'm on the stock rom and with light usage can easily get a full day out of a charge (I'm using the rezound battery now, but was similar with the stock battery). With very light usage, i can even make it overnight and through at least most of the next day on a full charge. Gaming, navigation, or a lot of downloading can run down the battery quickly. My so has an iphone4s and doesn't seem to get a ton better battery life.

Almost 5 hours of display on time. Mix in about 6 hours of sleeping but lots of Texting, rootz, xda, and Twitter. Imo kernel undervolted not overclocked, and 12 hours were in a bad signal area at my work in hospital I am talking -102 so battery could be better.

I get around 8-10 hours on fairly regular use and towards 12 when I use it lightly. The biggest difference maker for me was not JuiceDefender or any battery saver program like that. It was using SetCPU once I rooted my phone and setting a profile up so when my screen is off, the processor drops to the ~200 MHz range. Definitely a must-have program for anyone who is rooted.
i keep everything running at max and carry a second battery pack with me... ill just swap them and am back to 100%... 2 full loads bring me through the day usually.
I suggest you to check this post and these batteries. This will solve any power issues you might have with your Tbolt
The rezound batteries work in the bolt also.

root + SetCPU
Pretzel pretty much hit the nail on the head. Once I rooted the phone I froze all of the stock bloatware, then installed SetCPU. Like Pretzel said, make it so when phone is asleep it only runs @ ~200mhz. Also do small things like turn screen brightness down and make backlight timeout 15 seconds.
Also, I cannot stress this enough
Your battery life will drastically change depending on what apps you have installed. When I download a new app I try to limit it to one at a time and watch my phone for the next few hours and see if my battery is running out quicker than usual. This has happened so many times to me where I install something with a 80% battery and then like 4 hours later its dead.
So with just the stock Rom, rooted, bloatware frozen, SetCPU, and about 60 battery friendly apps, I can get usually around 20 hours with light to moderate use.
The biggest difference on battery drain is if you have LTE enabled. Just download LTE OnOff and only turn it on when needed.
I'm getting pretty good battery life on bean R2 (I easily average 20+hrs). But no matter which ROM I am on, no matter if I'm getting great or poor battery life, I always start to get on edge once I have dropped below 70%. I start to think, damn there goes battery today. I realize I still have 3/4 of my battery remaining but I just feel this anxiety that my phone is not near full charge.
I let it drain to empty a couple times a month but it becomes almost unbearable when I get down to the last 1/3 of my battery life.
Is it just me?

sounds like you need to turn off percentages. I had this problem until i turned it off. Now i have to go a few steps further to find out what it actually is and that makes me not care as much.
My battery life is HORRIBLE.
Have you tried using an app like GSam Battery Monitor?
I've been able to track down a few issues with that app, including one where I needed to wipe my cache to stop my internal sd card from being continuously scanned.
I always get over 2 hours of screen time over the course of a day. Currently using AOKP Jelly Bean, and it's still the same!

Don't drain your battery. People really need to stop thinking these are the old batteries of yesteryear. Draining your battery will cause it stress and lower it's overall life and charge over time. Draining your battery is causing exactly what you're trying to prevent. Best practice is to let it get to 15-20% and then charge.
On topic, I get anxiety about battery at around 70% too. Mostly because it seems to hit that point pretty fast, but then can last the rest of the day no problem.
Have fun with your new phone and keep a charger on stand by! If you use your phone medium to heavy use you should get to the end of your work day and you can charge it when you get home. Did you get your sd card issue resolved?

Ive found that having a spare battery always charged, along with the spare battery charger handy so I can charge a battery while using my phone, works great for my mental 'battery issues'!
On Synergy 1.3, I have AMAZING battery life! Can usually go 2 days between charges if I wanted to...Unplug the phone at 8am and at midnight, I'm rocking 50-60% still, depending on the day.
GSam Battery Monitor can help find apps that are abnormally draining the battery...But I've found that it too can cause the phone to get stuck in a wake lock...So I don't keep it installed, only use it if I have a weird battery drain issue.
I'm the same way, if not worse. I constantly look at power usage (in miliamps and %/hr). I should just remove all battery widgets and percentages, I almost always have enough battery, just paranoid.

That's weird how they do that.
My phone does the same exact thing with the big 4000+ Hyperion battery. It drops to 70% in what seems like no time at all, then three hours later it is still at 70%. The battery gauge obviously is not very accurate at all.
Right now, my phone has been on for just under 10 hours and says it is at 40%. if I just let it go (I charge it every night) it would run all night and still be at around 40% tomorrow morning.
I am the same way after just installing synergy 1.3 on saturday I have been constantly checking battery percentage. Anytime I change anything I get obsessed with it for a while.
This is what I like to see! Used to not be able to get close to 3 hours screen on.

Switched to beans custom rom. This will be my first discharge though.
Battery
I've read about the new batteries and not letting them completely discharge, instead recharging when it gets to 15% or so.My battery life was awful, if I was at 45% or less I needed to plug it in before going to bed. This was a daily thing, I charged my phone every night, Well I forgot the other night and woke up to a dead battery. I plugged the phone in and turned it on while charging. I charged it to 100%. This was 2 mornings ago (not been charged since) and I'm just now a 46% with normal usage (for me). I just thought this was interesting and wonder if anyone else has experienced this or can replicate it.
Battery Life
I'm getting smoking battery life, been tethering a good 2/3 hours and been on the phone and answering email add day and checking this site. I am on 1.5 Synengy, and using the Snapdragon CPU script that was posted in one of the forums. I can post the link as I don't have a large enough post count, however I would search the forum and find the mod and use it.
It's amazing, I'm at 51% battery and have not plugged in all day. I unplugged it at 7:30 am Arizona time and it's 4:30pm AZ time.
Try it, it' works.
Rob
I get better battery life with than I did with my rezound with extended battery

Here is what I was talking about it's works for me.
Here is the link to the mod I used on my G3 it works amazing, it's a little confusing to enable, but one it's enabled you can rest assured it will work.
You can also change the processor speeds along with the battery save options.
Make sure you read the OP VERY CAREFULLY, it's where all the details are to run the script.

Wow, your cell standby was eating you up. Hope you got that fixed.
As far as battery life, I feel mine is average to good. Cell standby and Android OS account for only 9% and 5% of my battery, the other 52% of it used up is screen.. so I think thats pretty good numbers to see.
How's everybody's battery life doing since you've had the new one? Mine has been pretty amazing so far. Haven't been using it hardcore but still using normally like how I used my older m7. Instagram, xda, updating apps, little gaming here and there, play music, camera and have gotten 30 hours off my first full charge all while on 4g, didn't turn wifi on once. Here's a screen shot of my usage. That flat lines on the graph is when I was sleeping. What's everybody else been getting?

I've been getting amazing results as well. Haven't had it for more than a day though so I've been trying to run it down to zero but that alone has-been tough.

How on earth?? I don't do any gaming, mostly facebook/twitter/instagram/texting/reddit with the occasional youtube video, automatic screen brightness and wifi 99% of the time (since I got the M8) and I'm lucky to pull 15hrs :/
It's not heavy use its moderate but I'm not getting anywhere near as good battery life as you :/
Get about 8-9 hours.
I'm getting around 16 hours, moderate use
I think I was doing better on my sgs3 with 3000 mah on aosp. time will tell if this gets better

Same here. I just checked the Battery History and doesn't seem to be accurate for me. I took my device off the charge this morning (first night last night fully charging) at 100% around 6am. It is now 3pm and have 38% battery life left. Looking at the Settings, battery, history info though my chart shows the graph starting between the 60 and 80 mark, says 4h 6m 40s on battery, WiFi shows full green bar (but wifi has been off all this time, wtf is this?), Awake in spurts, same with screen on, Mobile network signal faint green bar all the way.
Says at bottom 11am to basically 3pm so just started analyzing battery history at 11am today?

That's the new always on scanning they put in after starting with 4.3. It's not supposed to use a lot of power but you can turn it off in the advanced wifi settings.
Looks like my post got deleted somehow...
Oh well, here's my batt life as of this morning.
via my M8
After my first full charge I'm at 36 hours and still have 14% left
I can't complain..
Here goes my experience. I worked today and wasn't able to use my phone a lot..but i would say moderate use and moderate to heavy use after work. No root no s-off. Plain stock and I love it.

I was getting amazing results with jus the temp. root.
I recently did the s-off, custom recovery and perm. root and my battery life went to crap immediately.
Best battery life I've gotten so far and still at 25% with normal use
I'm getting around 17-18 hours after random used.
I've noticed no ill effects from perm root, s-off, or custom recovery. Things are just as good as always. For reference, I get anywhere between four to four and a half hours of screen-on time at medium brightness, no wifi at any point in the day. Coverage is so-so at my desk so it does search for signal quite a bit. I'm sure I could get more if I was in a strong coverage area. How badly did your battery life tank after perm-root? Were there any root apps you installed after the perm-root that could be affecting it?

I was getting on average 5-6 hours of screen on time. Yesterday I barely got 3.
I haven't installed anything since the perm. root, or changed any other settings on the phone.
No complaints here. This is the best day I've gotten. I have tweaked a few things.
S-off and root will never affect your battery life, there is literally no mechanism for it to do that. Anyone who says otherwise is lying, incompetent, or experiencing a placebo effect. If you want excellent battery life (mine was averaging 0.3-1.2% per hour with lte on) then turn off google now (at least turn off location reporting), you can leave location services on but keep it at low battery, greenify anything you dont need notifications for, and don't install apps you don't actually use. Get trickster mod, set the powersave core grouping thing to 1, thermal throttling on, and use powersaver 24/7. I have had powersaver enabled without *any* loss in performance (hide the icon too).
very happy with mine.
