you could always make one if you have an old cord lying around. i agree with big. it will be a good thing to have just in case. it definitely came in handy a couple times for me as well
$1.70 from China premade - shipped to you in 2-3 wks or make your own with 3x100Kohm and a hacked old micro usb adapter...
- your choice
What is a usb jig?

If you like to flash your ROM it is a great idea. It makes it a snap to get into download mode and sure beats the normal way.

Way simpler than you would think it is to make one yourself
I don't leave home w/o mine
I bought two because they're so cheap, haven't had to use it yet but I'm sure I will eventually and it gives me a sense of security for if something does happen

Where did you get it?
You can buy them from ebay for so cheap and most of them are free shipping. I bought 5 of them. Just in case something happens to the others I have spares.

The cheapest usb jig you will find ANYWHERE.
Cheap enough I think. You can thank qkster for that link. Got one coming from Amazon tomorrow. Paid 6 bucks. And there are more than enough decent guides out there too. I simply wasn't a fan of hacking up one of the two cables that I had around. Good luck. Nice job thinking ahead, don't cut it to the last minute, like I did.
Just saying.. >>>>>>
um... do all jigs reset your flash/Binary Counter? even the ebay one?

i've seen some that resets your counters
Its compatible with the Infuse kid trust me i have like 4 of them lol
as for the counter i doubt it but if youre worried about it
why flash
why worry about a jig??
its pretty simple logic
no pun intented
Funny thing about this, a buddy of mine and I made one of these last week to reset the counter on his Epic Touch, worked great so i kept it. Once I flashed the new cm9 build to my phone I decided to plug it in to see if it worked the same... and it just booted my phone.
Are there different pinout/resistance combos for different phones or did my phone just go weird on me (i wasn't concerned enough to shut back down the phone and try it again)
thanks

i've read some forum and post about DIY jig and pinout/resistance combos, and if you solder 4,5 pins you'll get sgs 1 to download mode , but if you want sgs 2 you will need 3,5 pins so i don't know... i guess the point is different pins are needed to get different device to work
i bought the cheap ebay jig and see how it goes. only a buck

USB unlocking the skyrocket

So Im trying to unlock my skyrocket and ATT is not letting me saying that device is excluaive etc....
I see on eBay, youtube etc... thay there is a way to unlock using some app via USB.
Is this real? Where can I find this with out paying?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
You cant. U gots to pay for unlock code. Whst ever u tried was either not four this device or a flat out lie.
read this thread sir

This thread is about paid service, Im looking to do this for free. Why does this work on sg2 and not on skyrocket? Are you guys saying those ebay sales for usb unlocking is a scam?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
basically there is no free unlock. U have to pay for it as it stands right now
AT&T is evil. Check out this thread also. You can also wait 6-8 months, and AT&T SHOULD have an unlock code by then.

I think 6-8 months is a bit far fetched. They usually do 6-8 after release, which we are approaching. I guess Ill keep trying with ATT. I tought we can do the USB unlocking like the sg2 and like the sites are offering paid service.

all we need is a dedicated dev to find the hidden files where the code lives, like they did on the galaxy s 4g, that was so easy i unlocked 5 of those in less than 1 hour, FREE.
So naturally when the galaxy came out, I tried the same way as in before but no luck the files are somewhere else and are very difficult to find

They are by far the worst provider I have ever dealt with.
Ok so, after much fighting with regular ATT reps and speaking to managers, I got nowhere, but on Saturday I called 916 843 4685 which is the international department, 1 minute conversation basically I need unlock code, here is my IMEI and here is my email. Today I got the email with the code. DO NOT waste time with regular CS, call international department directly !

The general concensus is that TMo really doesn't check past the moisture dot under the battery along with a couple of battery pulls and they just send you out a replacement. That's what happened to me & a couple of others that had to get another one.

Mine was an original model and I was stuck @ Revolutionary S-Off. He never even looked @ my HBoot. Tried a couple of reboots & battery pulls and shrugged his shoulders & ordered me a new one. Here in three days and now I'm back. LOL I didn't even have TMo's insurance. It was the HTC 12 month that saved me.

[Q] Are there Unlock services out there? I.E Ebay....etc.

Without going into a long unsuccessful Asus story and not being able to unlock the bootloader (was on the phone a last time today with no luck w/Asus) I was curious if there are people out there that offer services to unlock a tablet like this with no intervention from Asus if that is even possible. Mine is over a year now so its out of warranty. I mean if I can send in my air bag module to have it reset on ebay (which i did successfully on the cheap) why wouldnt there be something similar for unlocking this damn tablet?
If this needs to be moved to another section feel free.
Thanks.
Didn't think it was a possibility. Major bummer

No it's not possible. Asus use 128 bit encrypted bootloaders and only they have the key which is locked to your cpu.... But they offer a free apk to unlock it at the loss of warranty which is well worth it imo.

You tried both V7, V8, and harassing Asus tech support and managers?
Yes multiple times. They even offered to let me send it in for unlocking then told me since my one year warranty is up they can't do that blah blah blah. It's ridiculous and I gave up since I called many times during my warranty period.

It's true that only they have the key, however there is one weakness to the setup. They give you the key if you run the unlock APK. Now this program has to send some identification info about the tf300 to Asus over the internet and then it gets the right unlock key back. If you figure out what info to send to asus to get the right key back it should be hackable. Not easy but doable
Seems like there are people working on this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29886680
However, seeing that thread that unlocking requires DMclient to work, and DMclient has a habit of locking up. Try in settings->apps->all to find DMclient. Force close and remove cache and data. Then try the unlock apk from ASUS again. Worth a shot...

Thanks FB Marketplace

I recently bought a Pixel off of FB Marketplace and ended up with a pretty expensive paperweight. I've researched for hours on here and have found some work arounds but none for the May 5th security patch. I've contacted Google to no answer and have tried contacting the seller but ended up with a block. I am stuck at the infamous FRP screen. I've checked the IMEI and the phone isn't claimed as lost or stolen. I know it's a long shot, but has anyone seen a bypass for the May 5th security patch or did I just buy a pricey brick. :crying:
RIP mate it's probably a stolen device

How much did you pay? There is a fix now.
I dont know if it helps but after wiping data in stock recovery try running "fastboot reboot emergency" in pixel's fastboot mode.
