Seidio Surface Case and Ultimate Screen Guard - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I received my Seidio Surface case yesterday and overall I am very pleased. The case adds barely any bulk, protects the camera, and feels great in the hands. Pics are posted below.
I also purchased the Seidio Ultimate Screen Guard. I am very disappointed it does not cover the whole screen. It only covers the display portion of the screen. The sides, top, and buttons are unprotected. It sucks to have an edge when moving from the menu buttons to the actual display portion. I wish I would have known this before purchasing.

Its the only way to not have bubbling with a dry protector.
If it goes to the top... It bubbles on the edges.... then when you cut a little bit off... The bubbled edge moves down.... Cut again... Down again..... then you are so close to the display area.. That it really looks bad.
The display area and very close to it are the only areas without a curve..
And I know this because I spent Sunday hacking them up

That case is sharp, i do like it.
Im not a fan of the screen protectors not going edge to edge either. I dont understand what the issue is. I know its been explained, but on my LG Nitro the protector covered the whole front, and that screen also has beveled edges. The lady at ATT put it on perfectly, no bubbles.

How does pressing the power button amd volume buttons feel? Do you have to press hard?

You barely have to touch it. It is just as easy as it is without a case. Nothing like the rubber cases.

The power button is just as easy to press? I own the bestbuy brand version of this case and It's a little harder to press than I'd like. (Same case, different logo).

I thought they only advertised the HTC One S as not needing a case. And specifically, only the ceramic coated version of the HTC One S, not the blue version sold by T-Mobile here in the states.

Lies. All lies. It needs a case. Wear makes the matte finish come off and leaves shiny spots in its place. It's a lot more noticable on grey.

Its the same color all the way through, its just that the finish on top of the polycarbonate can wear off and make it shiny from what I've read.

I got the OtterBox commuter case.
yes it takes away from the pretty pretty white. but I spend months at a time in St. Kitts. If my phone is to have any chance of survival is needs a case and I was pressed for time last week (I left for st. kitts today) so I had to buy the case at the Cor store. I wanted to get the Ballistic SG case as I've had nothing but success with those and that too at 10 dollars cheaper but then I realized it might not fit right because the ATT One X is slightly taller than the HTC One X
:x
all in all the otterbox is really good and with the gel + plastic case design it seems like it'll survive a drop. Those blue and orange (figures those'd be the colors) Shell Cases they're selling don't seem like they'd do jack and at 30 bucks are possibly the biggest rip off at the store. (the store was also shocked when I showed up on thursday with the phone asking for a case, it was a special sort of envy lol)
oh and for those curious, I ended up getting the phone free of charge (true to form i'm a customer 15+years) but if you call 611 and ask politely they'll almost always give you some sort of discount on a non apple phone. it's always worth a shot
I cant wait for the day when no cases are needed. I guess i'll get one of those thin hard plastic barely there cases. Like the one below but white. they dont protect the screen from a direct hit but you normally need something pretty bulky for that. And remember keep your phone cases clean. Seen a show that said phone cases have more germs than anything we touch on a daily basis.. Everything we touch gets transfered to our phone cases. I have a white barely there case for my sensation that i throw in a bowl of bleach every few weeks for an hour or so. Cleans it up, makes it bright white again. Cant be one of those cheapo painted cases though... wont hold up!

Actually, that's sort of the point of the protruding camera. By sticking out, it forces the glass off of any surface. Rather than the entire back (including camera glass) being a wear point like the iPhone, there are only two wear points on the One X. The first is at the bottom of the phone and the second is right at the lip of the camera ring.

[REVIEW] Otterbox Defender (ATT/Rogers)

Fits like a glove as it is meant for the ATT/Rogers version. All holes line up. The rubber is tougher and less shiny than the normal rubber otterbox uses (which i thought thank god) The only thing i dont like/not used to yet is how the phone mounts into the belt clip. You have to slowly "wedge it out" Here are some pictures. Any questions? The temperature after playing a game for 25 min is 43c (without case it was around 39c)

Whats your opinion on the power button? Is difficult to press?
Very easy. I notice i dont have to push as hard as my ebay rubber case i had before. Volume buttons are also easily pushed. The screen protector takes a bit away from the clarity. Still debating on popping it off or not.

I recommend just popping it out, especially if you already use a screen protector. It comes out rather easy and the adhesive strip can be pulled out in practically one piece. The only thing I would suggest is to use something like a small piece of duct tape to remove the left over residual adhesive from inside the frame.
Does anyone have the purple and teal otterbox? I really want one!
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
They have not been released anywhere yet. ATT nor Otterbox carry them yet. I was told within the next few weeks.
It depends on your area, because most ATT store here in Hawaii had both Commuter and Defender Cases, I originally went with the commuter case but felt it added too much thickness and took away the design of the phone, so bought Htcs slim case. The have improved a lot in terms of rubber material and fit, especially coming from the evo 3d case.

In have the Case Mate barely there. It fits the phone really tight and keeps the slim design and it fits on the dock. The downside is that the camera is not entirely protected, as it sticks out very very slightly. Like .2mm

@naouris- any slim case should work. Thin TPU cases, any shell that just snaps on the back... it's just the thicker cases that won't fit.

That's a common complaint about cases for this phone. The power button is angled so most cases have trouble pressing down on it. The only way I can for sure press the power button with this case every time is to press on the very left of the button. Works every time.
The volume buttons are perfect though.

K I just found my PT Surface case and it does NOT fit in the dock. At least not comfortably. The problem with it is that the back of the case is too thick and if you wedge the connector into the phone you'll risk damaging both the dock and the phone. I'm sure you can actually get it in there but no way in hell would I risk my phone like that.
I tried to show it in this picture but it is a good 1.5-2mm off. When putting the phone in naturally, the dock connector hits the phone body just underneath the USB port on the phone. The front of the dock connector literally lines up flush with the back of the USB port. No bueno.

Incipio Feather Ultra Thin Case [FITTED for AT&T ONE X]

Hey guys, i've finally found a case i'm satisfied with. I've been looking for cases around on ebay, always buying those random 2 dollar-10 dollar tpu crap.. and was never happy because it made my phone feel bulky. After a lot of research, I found the Incipio feather ultra thin case for about 22 dollars. Its a lot more than what i would spend on a case but I guess i can say its worth it. It feels ONE WITH THE PHONE. Its light, feels strong and sturdy... just simply clean and elegant. The feel to the case is like a strong sturdy plastic for the structure, and the surface touch is like a premium rubber type material with a matte feel
here are some pictures just because I love this combination so much, hopefully it'l work out for you guys too..

So cases like these... If you drop the phone screen first it'll probably shatter. My question is do you think that the tpu cases that have a tinyyyyy amount of lip would protect the screen any more?
I have a case that I'm wary about using because it doesn't have the lip around the screen.

about the case not covering the whole phone it does protect it pretty well. the corners rise slightly up higher than the screen. if it falls, most likely it would fall on a corner, or slanted right? what are the odds of the phone landing flat on the screen, perfect 180degrees? but if it does happen to land on an EDGE of a stairs, or a rock(flat face down again) then yeah that might be a problem
but yeah i recommend this case if you want to keep the sleek thin feel of the one x, cant stand thick tpu cases on big screened phones, its like carrying a brick
I just ordered the grey one from amazon. I figured everyone has a black case so grey might look good with my phone. Especially if it's the same color as the grey HOX. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Bah, Amazon's tracking number says this won't be here until Friday. 3 day shipping, bah! Thanks Amazon, Thanks.

Ionic Guardian case still 75% off at Amazon

This case is still on sale on Amazon at around $15 incl delivery. Quite a few people have reported delivery issues (delays, cancelations, etc) but from what I've seen the people that have the case are pleased. Just so you know the case cones in two pieces (thanks All__fun). I think if someone wants a cheap but theoretically durable case, this is a good starting point. If you don't mind waiting.
It is nice and well made. It is definitely the bulkiest case I've had as of yet. Also it's difficult to charge using the lg wcp700. It works but has to be put on the charger precisely.[/QUOTE]
All__fun said:
let me just add,
That after having the phone with no case for about a week now,
adding this case truly adds girth to the phone.
Previously the phone would slide easily in and out of my pocket,
you can't tell in the picture, but the case is actually a 2 piece case, a soft inner case, that the phone slides into, and a hard outer cover that gives the phone it's design. (the white, black, pink, or blue distinction.)
This is probably the best case out right now for the phone, but I can't stress enough how thick and bulky the phone is now. If you are willing to sacrifice it's sleek design, this case offers good protection.
I don't have a screen protector on right now, so I cannot add whether or not this peels off or interferes with the protector.
I will also add that with the Ionic case on, when looking at the lock screen, I find it more difficult to swipe left and right between different lock screens. I have a screen lock pattern, and that registers my finger strokes rather than a swipe to a different lock screen.

Looks like it'll protect the phone, while making it look like **** at the same damn time.
I picked one of these up. The reviews seemed really good for the iPhone and note versions

Hey, I thought someone might be interested to know that this case is at a pretty decent price of $9.85. It seems pretty cool!

To be honest I ordered the case but am concerned with the back not having a slot for the speaker

Agreed. But maybe someone here likes the way it looks. And I think it'll do a good job at protecting the glass.

I think the slit at the botton right of the picture might be for speaker.

can anyone who ordered it (from amazon) post these qustions on the product's page? i can't since i haven't made a purchase via amazon yet.
1. is there a speaker cutout?
2. are there optional dust plugs for it?
3. if it's on stock on dec 17, will it arrive to NY before christmas?
thanks!
a seperate question: did anyone find a drop test with this case? i don't seem to find anything on youtube, i couldn't even find an official site.
fugly
i have to agree with the rest of you that it is one fugly case. ugh the price of protection.
If you hating on the circles just get black?
I ordered a blue one just because I'm board of black. I will let you how it is when it comes.
Perhaps the cutouts allow it to cool a bit and also make it lighter.. I don't think it looks bad.
As long as proximity works and the USB and head phone jacks are open I would buy it..
sent via xda premium with Nexus 7 or Nexus 4!
Possibly the uglies case I may have ever seen. But in terms of protection, it looks promising. For ten bucks I would order one right now, if Amazon would accept PayPal. Anyone know of a way to bypass?

These are a ballistic brand knock off. The final ballistic cases are much better bit they take a long time to come out.
