I thought they only advertised the HTC One S as not needing a case. And specifically, only the ceramic coated version of the HTC One S, not the blue version sold by T-Mobile here in the states.

Lies. All lies. It needs a case. Wear makes the matte finish come off and leaves shiny spots in its place. It's a lot more noticable on grey.

While in general I prefer not to use cases, that last one was pretty nice. I'm waiting to see if we get any nice minimalist cases for the One XL

Its the same color all the way through, its just that the finish on top of the polycarbonate can wear off and make it shiny from what I've read.
Where are you guys buying the official cases? I can't find a place that has them in stock.

after seeing a Mythbusters rerun last night I'm gonna coat my phone in Line-X bed liner material
SO it sounds like if I want to go case-less the One to get (see what I did there?) is a white one.

I got the OtterBox commuter case.
yes it takes away from the pretty pretty white. but I spend months at a time in St. Kitts. If my phone is to have any chance of survival is needs a case and I was pressed for time last week (I left for st. kitts today) so I had to buy the case at the Cor store. I wanted to get the Ballistic SG case as I've had nothing but success with those and that too at 10 dollars cheaper but then I realized it might not fit right because the ATT One X is slightly taller than the HTC One X

all in all the otterbox is really good and with the gel + plastic case design it seems like it'll survive a drop. Those blue and orange (figures those'd be the colors) Shell Cases they're selling don't seem like they'd do jack and at 30 bucks are possibly the biggest rip off at the store. (the store was also shocked when I showed up on thursday with the phone asking for a case, it was a special sort of envy lol)
oh and for those curious, I ended up getting the phone free of charge (true to form i'm a customer 15+years) but if you call 611 and ask politely they'll almost always give you some sort of discount on a non apple phone. it's always worth a shot
I cant wait for the day when no cases are needed. I guess i'll get one of those thin hard plastic barely there cases. Like the one below but white. they dont protect the screen from a direct hit but you normally need something pretty bulky for that. And remember keep your phone cases clean. Seen a show that said phone cases have more germs than anything we touch on a daily basis.. Everything we touch gets transfered to our phone cases. I have a white barely there case for my sensation that i throw in a bowl of bleach every few weeks for an hour or so. Cleans it up, makes it bright white again. Cant be one of those cheapo painted cases though... wont hold up!

Actually, that's sort of the point of the protruding camera. By sticking out, it forces the glass off of any surface. Rather than the entire back (including camera glass) being a wear point like the iPhone, there are only two wear points on the One X. The first is at the bottom of the phone and the second is right at the lip of the camera ring.

I can second that it doesn't have any I just got the case today in the morning I love the case I'm pretty sure I can use a knife with some heat and melt out the cut outs for the volume.?

I read some reviews and the reason the reason they don't have volume cut outs is because of the potential manufacturing difficulties that would result while being made.
If you could do it nicely with a knife or exacto blade I say go for it!!

I got my case from Amazon & I immediately did my power button with a razor blade. The minute I put it in the case it tried to reset cause the case was pushing the power button all the way down. I don't know if I'll do the volume button though. Its way too sensitive, I can barely touch the button without changing the volume, but it's not exactly easy to cut TPU material neatly. The cutout looks OK from a distance, but up close it's kinda jagged. I can't believe they designed a case that holds the damn power button down like that, but I only paid 30 cents for it so I guess I can't *****.

I can easily "clone stamp" away the hTC logo in photoshop... no biggie
I was just wondering why would the seller do that instead of simply posting a real pic of his product...

The mention of a "SILICONE TPU-CASE" seems odd to me. TPU and Silicone are two different materials. Most sellers are selling cases that are either TPU or Silicone. I doubt it's some new blend of TPU and silicone. TPU is the cheaper material, so it's probably TPU.
I've found TPU cases have a negative impact on signal, but I've had no such signal issues with silicone cases. I've been testing both.
I sent in a request to Speck on making a case for the One X/XL. I thought it would be a good idea to let you guys know aswell. If you're interested, click the link below and vote on it. Also leave comments on there if you have any ideas on design, but the biggest issue is getting them to know we want a case for this phone!

That would be ideal. HTC would have to keep a form factor available for years so that they can mass produce these cases, knowing they'll be able to sell them for a while. Doesn't hurt to have a Hurd of sheep following them like Apple does, too!

Posted this in another thread, but we are actually going to have the speck cases for it in store according to an accessory brief we got today on the One X. One will be the red candyshell and the other will be one of those white Gamer candyshell speck cases. You know...the one with the rubber grippy thing on the back. (Sorry for the nontechnical term, I just got home from that place and I'm exhausted)
i love spec! i had the pixelskin for my iPhone 3G back in the day. best silicone case i'd ever, and have ever, had.
There are two speck cases available from AT&T a candy shell in red and black. Candy shell grip in white and black. They will go on sale when the One X hits stores.

We received the same cases at my store today as well. We also got in the Zagg shield and some regular anti-glare/anti-fingerprint screen protectors also. I tried the cases on a grey One X and wasn't too happy with the way they looked. I decided to get the grey instead of the white so I ordered a black tpu case off Amazon for like $7 and ordered the Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic screen protector. Hopefully we start receiving more soon, there are a few other options on the Accessory Matcher on our POS systems to place orders for.
Just got the white one from the store for my gray one X. I I like it but don't love it. I'll keep it on for a while then switch later

I bought the White /Black one and it fits tight, The only problem is when I try and charge the phone up, the plugin does not go in all the way.
I just picked up the red speck candy shell case today. I always liked the candy shell cases and quality. Be forewarned, it is incredibly difficult to get the HOX inside this case.

i got that orange one on the left... don't think it'll provide any protection, but it makes my grey one x look like a tiger. so, even tradeoff.
i'll wait for more cases to come out and get something slim/with more protection eventually.

I got the same one. I love that its keeps the screen and camera off the table when I set it down. Digging the grips too.

I want that black and white speck case but can't find anywhere to get it in Canada. Anybody have any ideas where I can get it from? Does AT&T online ship to Canada?
These speck cases are great, but why did they make them so hard to take off? I thought I was going to snap my phone in half while prying the top off.
Can somebody with the black & white speck case post pics with there phone inside. I'm really interested in the case but don't want to spend near $40 bucks if i can see how the phone looks with the case inside.

I was bored enough so here is a simple review of the Diztronic TPU case for the One X.
First impressions of it, it looks like most standard TPU cases. the one thing that really caught my eye was the matte backing and the glossy sides which imitates that of the phone how it has a matte back and glossy sides at least in the case of the grey version of the One X.

Also shown in the pics you can see the cutouts for the rear speaker, headphone jack, power rocker, volume rockers, and USB port Which with them cut out like that they are super easy to press.
Fitment wise this thing fits the ATT One X like a dream, infact the fitment is so close it does take a little pressure getting the remaining two sides of the phone into the case.
an overall back view of the case installed, the cutouts for the rear speaker and the camera's LED are perfect, the camera isn't covered up all that great but, laying it on a desk or table it doesn't hit the camera bezel.
Heres a closer look of the camera area of the case when installed, as you can see the cutout is rather big but i have yet to have the lense or the bezel make contact with what the phone is resting on.
for the final picture i opted to take one with the screen protector installed just so everyone can see how it lines up. at the top its maybe a 1mm gap at the top and bottom, the sides have 4/5mm gap side to side, which i could live with, using a wet apply screen protector with this case WILL make the sides bubble up.
Overall, I love how this case feels when it is installed, how it feels in the hand. Almost like nothing is even on the phone, it's lightweight and very minimal bulk. The screen protector is a bit lacking on the sides but with the curved glass, what can you expect. Overall a very damn good case in my opinion hope you enjoyed the review.

I never cared to much for them either until i had my sgs2 with a incipio ngp, from there on i liked them. my normal choice for a case was otterbox but i didnt wanna put a bulky case on this slim device. so got to looking around on amazon and seen the diztronic.

I have been using the clear one on my white HOX as well.
It is pretty good, minimal bulk considering it is TPU and perfect fit, but it is still not as minimalistic as the official HTC clear hard case C700, but it will do the job fine till I get hold of the HTC one which fits AT&T XL phone, it will also be better because it protects the camera, the Diztronic case doesn't, or very minimal protection since it is cut outside the metal frame around the lens.
Just got mine in, color me surprised... I actually like it! This marks the very first TPU case that I don't mind having on my phone. Very slim, minimal bulk, and fits perfectly. My only complaint is that it makes the hardware buttons difficult to press but I can deal with that until something better comes along. I have like 6 other cheap cases enroute from China so we'll see when they come.
Ordered diztronic clear case on Tuesday, should be arrive on Saturday. I'm still waiting for the HTC hc v701 to be reviewed with att one x. Anyone tried it? Is it fit perfect with att model?

I really do like this case but the camera touches when it's laid on its back. Case quality is great. Dust does get behind it but since it's so easy to take off it's not a big deal. As long as you can remember to put your phone face down your fine with this case.
+1 to this case...MUCH better than the orange plastic one from HTC that I had....

Fits ATT? I heard alot of tpu were for international and it would stretch to fit the att version but the ports wouldn't align.

Don't worry about it, it'll most likely fit. The HOX(L) is only half a millimeter longer. Considering the cutouts on most tpu cases are a tad oversized it'll fit. I have an international HOX TPU case from rock and it fits perfectly.

Looks like it would be a tight fit, based on the 2nd dimension but I think with enough ductape you'll get it right in there ;] Its only two dollars though, I'm sure you can go find enough quarters on the street today to get one just to find out. I prefer the dings all over my phone. Makes it more personal knowing how many times I died a little bit on the inside when I Dropped it <\3.

DealExtreme has a HTC One XL case, seems to be a TPU / Silicone mix. Anyone tried this one? I can't post links yet, but it's named "Protective PC + Silicone Case for HTC One XL". Comes in black and white.
Everyone that got theirs already, how well does it fit?
I bought a similar one (black with black X) off ebay when the phone first came out and I am very happy with it.
Pros:
Good grip
Slim
Lip to protect the screen - not large but enough to protect it from small falls
Easy to take off if needed, but doesn't come off when pulling it out of your pocket
Camera area has a lip to protect it
CHEAP!!!!
Cons:
The case is made for the international version, only 4/5 pins are exposed
The camera cut out is a little off, but it still protects it well and doesn't interfere with the function of the camera.
The "X" on the back is shiny and can scuff
Overall definitely worth $2.

Well, I got the XL case, and it's definitely not for the AT&T HTC One X. Top mic completely covered, bottom mic + rear speakers + and LED are partially covered. I'd stick with the Diztronic TPU case for a perfect fit.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago, I got the frosted clear back and the clear back with the argyle print. I ended up not liking my frosted back case as much, both fit nicely, def recommend the tpu with argyle print.

Don't buy these cases. While the tpu isn't bad, the buttons are really hard to push while it's on.

Hey guys, i've finally found a case i'm satisfied with. I've been looking for cases around on ebay, always buying those random 2 dollar-10 dollar tpu crap.. and was never happy because it made my phone feel bulky. After a lot of research, I found the Incipio feather ultra thin case for about 22 dollars. Its a lot more than what i would spend on a case but I guess i can say its worth it. It feels ONE WITH THE PHONE. Its light, feels strong and sturdy... just simply clean and elegant. The feel to the case is like a strong sturdy plastic for the structure, and the surface touch is like a premium rubber type material with a matte feel

I have one of these...super annoying how it covers the USB port along the front edge. Only the OEM cable works...and even then just barely. Other cables I have won't stay plugged in. Stopped using it due to this.
I wish this didn't cover the USB port as much. Would be great to use around the office.
Right now, I'm using their Silicrylic and love it.

yeah thats true, but im fine using my oem cable, it fits perfectly
i hate using the squared 2dollar ebay cables, they feel cheap
Looks just like the Casemate barely there case that I have. Only difference is that there's no upper lip on the Casemate.
Hmm I like it, very nice. I like how it doesn't cover the top or bottom, or come over the edge too much(around the rim of the phone). Thanks for the info.
Does it cover the camera enough so you can lay it flat on its back?

So cases like these... If you drop the phone screen first it'll probably shatter. My question is do you think that the tpu cases that have a tinyyyyy amount of lip would protect the screen any more?
I have a case that I'm wary about using because it doesn't have the lip around the screen.
Where'd you buy your case from?
Still don't know what color to get... Prolly end up with grey.

i got it on ebay, for about 22 bucks, yeah the gray one is nice, i've always wondered about the black one though since it contrasts the white one x, but gray works!

about the case not covering the whole phone it does protect it pretty well. the corners rise slightly up higher than the screen. if it falls, most likely it would fall on a corner, or slanted right? what are the odds of the phone landing flat on the screen, perfect 180degrees? but if it does happen to land on an EDGE of a stairs, or a rock(flat face down again) then yeah that might be a problem
but yeah i recommend this case if you want to keep the sleek thin feel of the one x, cant stand thick tpu cases on big screened phones, its like carrying a brick
I just ordered the grey one from amazon. I figured everyone has a black case so grey might look good with my phone. Especially if it's the same color as the grey HOX. Can't wait for it to arrive.
