Err... What's the glitch? Is the phone catching on fire?
U mean ur phone is stuck and not getting past the logo screen?
No it's just a small flash in the screen when starting up the phone like noise on a tv.it's just for a second.

It's the OC kernel. I've had the same thing when I used it. I dont think its harmful, but it is annoying if your a perfectionist
It really is...how exactly do you revert to the stock kernel? If you can't is there a download for it? I wonder if there is a fix for that glitch?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
mine does the same thing., i noticed though after flashing back to stock it would still happen from time to time. I'm trying really hard to remember if it ever did that before i started changing things on the phone (which was day 1 hahah)
It never did that before I started flashing things.I just don't know if it's my kernel our rom but I'm leaning towards kernel now

Infused rom uses V7 of the Community Kernel which you can find in the Dev Forum.
Should I maybe try to reflash the kernel?

If you dont want that glitchy flash of pixels on boot, then use another kernel other than the OC kernel here.
Is defuse probably the best alternative?

Defuse is a great kernel especially for battery
Big dog Infuse I997 running Infused 1.5, Defused 1.4
I had this happen to me one time when I was on 1.5.1, or 1.5.. I don't remember. I had problems with it, so I flashed back to Gtg's kernel. I'm also running infused rom. Hi recently went back to the latest OC kernel. It's posted in one of the more recent pages. It's basically 1.5.1 before speedmod was added. I no longer notice the tv snow, but like I said it only happened once. Since then I've been looking for it.

What video are you guys referring to working or not on newer gb leaks? Like the HDMI out video? IR like flash video?!
I just went with one of the newer leaks and now the videos on beetle.com don't play. Didn't know if it was related to the rom or kernel I have.

You need to flash a stock gingerbread kernel to enable video playback.
EDIT: All videos like YouTube or on phone videos won't play without the stock kernel.

I am on kernel supplied in gtg's 2.2.1. Tried out Infusion kernels for some time. Never had an issue with video playback. Only thing missing was HDMI out.

That's Rogers Gingerbread. It's different from our leaks.

Oh, and the earlier leaks were just fine. I think this issue first showed up in the KK leaks.

Can someone point to a Rom that supports Hdmi out
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
the original, and possibly second.bionix build...or froyo

All of the leaks with its stock kernel.

Ugh I can't seem to find one that works..yes I've used the search function just three impatient kids around makes this difficult lol
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
Try Infused 1.5.2 <-- Froyo ROM
also bionix biui build 3, not build 4.
I'd go bionix cuz on gb HDMI works with alternative launchers. on froyo you need to use the twlauncher..

The same way you flashed CM, download, put on the root of your sd card, and flash them. I believe these are the latest: http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
Thank you so much it works great thank you again

So you obviously know way more then I do about this what is the best rom in your opinion? And does that app pack work on all roms or just cyanogen mod?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
It works on all ROMs except the CM9 alpha that was released. Until you're less new you might want to hold off on that until there is a stable release.
Thanks the cyanogen nightly that I installed is slower then the stock one .just wondering what roms are best

Google Euroskank and go to the first one that pops up, hit the P999 tab and grab the latest and grab any of the custom kernels that strike your fancy or do what I started to do and try one for a week or two and see how I like it.
I thought those were only for the O2x not g2x
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Nope, just make sure you choose P999 from their page. The official CM got was down and I liked their nightlies and had no problems I didn't have on the stable release.

So what would be the best in your opinion to use
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Kernel?
It depends: If you want battery life get Trinity ELP (I that's the one, the one which only allows to OC to 1.1GHz) if you want pure power go for Faux, if you want a balance (don't know if it has Voodoo sound though) go for Dragon for CM7 (not OTA).
So I take it that you can use different kernals with different roms and you flash them the same as the roms?

Most, if not all of the newer custom roms are debloted, meaning the bloat has been removed in OTA based roms. If its AOSP or CM based, it's built without bloat.
I just recently installed CM9 with faux's kernel and it was overly buggy! It froze, apps constantly crashed, the screen would turn black if I turned the phone horizontal. For you slow folk, that's sideways.
Within 10 minutes of using CM9, I decided I was reverting to CM7! So, I booted into CWM and wiped everything; Dalvik, battery stats, cache, and did a full wipe. I reinstalled everything pertaining to CM7 and "tried" to restore. This is where I encountered a strange issue! When the restore got to the point of retiring data, it started to display 1 byte hex for awhile. The process took 3 times the norm. It then produced an error while trying to restore .Android.secure. I eventually fixed but has to delete all my backups since they all became "corrupted", if that's what you wanna call it. Thoughts?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Your poor experience on CM9 was probably because of a bad flash or bad wipe. Did you use the nullifier? I suggest you try the Hellfire Sandiwch, while it isn't perfect, it comes close to it.
The correct terminology is landscape by the way.
Try eb aosp. Its a great rom.

@ShovelHead, links?
@iArtisan, I really loved CM9!!! At first I swore to never to go back! Then it crapped out. Maybe ill give it another go before I try HFS.

I've had a great experience with Owain's CM9 KANG + Faux123's kernel...
@FatalityBoy, we have the same phone and used the same ics software so..... maybe iArtisan is right?!

Definitely, the devs here have done some amazing stuff. Next time you flash, run the dual-wipe nullifier:

I give CM9 another go. Last time, I used faux's UV/OC kernel. This time I used the stock voltage kernel instead and its running smooth now!! This rom is pretty bad ass!
UPDATE: com.android.phone crashes every 10 seconds. Its pretty annoying! If I reset, it stops but if I try to share a picture from facebook to tumblr or mms it will cause it to crash every 10 seconds.

Im trying Kangs CM9 with the trinity kernel(tuna). Com.android.phone crashes if I I try and share a photo from the facebook app. Fixes if I reboot. I'll try harshes kernel next.

I'm almost positive the (TUNA) kernel is for Galaxy Nexus, lol! are you positive you flashed that cause it shouldn't even boot let alone give you errors...

Tuna kernel isn't for our phone. I'm surprised your phone boots.
Slow down and maybe you won't cause your own problems.
Yeah I just rechecked and it wasn't tuna. It was the other ics kernel from derkernel.com I feel really stupid lol Sorry!

It won't let me edit my post so I'm just gonna make a new one. I went to derkernel.com and downloaded the tuna kernel and rebooted into cwm and it flashed! The other ics kernel (crespo) wouldn't flash. Its running smooth for the most part!!

Lol our phones aren't known by the name tuna or crespo.... why would you flash a kernel for a different phone?
I suggest bionix for the most stable.

I don't think you should be flashing.
Can't tell if it's a troll or not.
ICS is not ready yet and most likely will not be until we get some sort of leak on ICS drivers. So if your phone is daily driver and you need it for work, CM7.2 is the only way to go, it also has much more features, more stable, and faster.
No, not trolling. I actually "assumed" that derkernel was G2X specific. Sometimes I don't look into stuff as much as I should! I've been busy all day on top of it. I'm replacing my head gasket on my truck so I guess I didn't think much of it at the time. But I don't see it as a stupid move! I mean there are so many different kernels out there, I just assumed it was just another name for the G2x kernel....Tuna. its running smooth tho. With the exception of the video camera and not being able to view recorded video.
Thanks buru I'll check out the bionix kernel too.
