What are your experiences with call volume? With it cranked all the way up, it's just adequate on most calls and I don't envision being able to hear the other side well in a busy location. Only call that's been nice and loud has been talking to Best Buy. All other calls, from Verizon callers, talking to ATT customer service, etc have just been enough for at home.
The volume also so seems to be extremely sensitive to where it's placed on the ear. The sweet spot is fairly small, much more so than any other phone I've ever used.

Hi,
I went back to a blackberry having used a Fuze for a short time. I had the stock OS, then upgraded from the HTC site. The call quality was bad and I wasn't too happy with WM6.1. I tried the audiopara3 file floating around, but it didn't help. No AGC on the mic.
Today I decided to upgrade to WM6.5 and try it out. I loaded the OS (RRE Rom v9) and the new OS is pretty nice. First call from my living room, caller complains too much background noise, sounded like I was at the mall. Ok, my wife was in another room on the phone but I didn't think it was very loud.
Second call, from my office caller asks where I am as he can hardly hear me with all the noise. My office is pretty quite but I was running the air filter. Again, not "pin drop" quite but I haven't heard anyone complain about it when using my BB.
Ear piece speaker volume is low, tinny and with the volume turned up, somewhat distorted. I was using my BB Bold this morning, no complaints. I've seen other complaints but thought the new OS might be better. Any suggestions before I sit this back on the shelf.
I've had these complaints when I used certain AudioPara3 files, but never with the default one in the RRE ROMs (or any other ROM). Are you sure you don't have a hardware issue with the mic?
I have one that I've used that will increase the earpiece volume and I haven't had any complaints about the mic, so I could post it if you want. I got it from here somewhere, just don't remember where.
Thanks, sure if you don't mind posting it, I'll give it a shot. I was using the Fuze in NYC on 8th Avenue in midtown and had nothing but complaints about the background noise. Had to swap the sim back to my BB.
I've noticed that the sound through the earpiece when on calls can be very poor a good majority of the time. It sounds almost distorted with a bit of a high pitch crackle to it...hard to explain sorry.
Not always there but more often than I am comfortable with and not the result of being in poor coverage area.
I'm on three in the UK if that makes any difference.
Anyone else having this?
Wow just me them. So everyone else's s6 sounds great on calls?
When you call granny, does she keep saying "Huh?! Wut?!" or does the conversation flow pretty well? Rate this thread to express how you feel about the OnePlus 5's call quality. My calls have been quite good. Have not lost one. Very clear. If anything I've had to turn down the volume occassionally. Almost as good as Moto phones re: call quality.
this happened to me more than once, but I figured that was because the network keeps changing from 4g to 3g or 2g at my place which causes problems for ongoing calls. Wherever I have good signal strength for 4G, I don't face this issue.
I'm a truck driver and i use my phone all day long making calls in remote areas. I have cricket wireless. This phone gets better reception and has the least dropped calls compared to any other phone i have used (Nexus 5, Nexus 6, leo eco pro 3, Samsung note 3, Nexus 4) couldn't be happier. It seems as though when you go through a bad area the phone doesn't just disconnected like my older phones it waits a few seconds.
I almost returned this phone because of camera and jelly scrolling. I said I'll live with this because reception is so good it's worth the miniscule problems. I don't even notice the jelly now lol. And the camera does fairly good with Google camera app
My only issues with calling would be some weird buzzing noises than occur during some SIP calls. Not regularly though. The ability to activate auto-call-recording is a huge plus imo, I'm a very forgetful person and always having a recording of the last call to check WHAT exactly you should bring again from the grocery store in a life-saver sometimes
In my case its not good.it does not sound crisp.rather very gloomy tone.i dunno if its because of the mono speaker or i am using a 3g sim.and i noticed call quality a little better when making whatsapp voice call.still it lacks crispyness.
Do cases affect call quality, I am considering the official karbon bumper case.
Very good clear loud and crisp sound with best cellular reception
Call quality on op5t is amazing. I have never been experienced this level of quality before even over the high speed internet call. I have made a conference call using VoLTE and HD symbol was there. Also recorded the call and it was loud and clear.

Call quality is not as good as my Samsung S6 Edge that I traded up from. I am pretty disappointed considering the Edge had many issues--despite being an expensive phone--that its call sound quality is way better than the 2 XL.
I haven't had anyone complain about call Quality. Especially when using HD calling. Overall I think that the call Quality is about on par with my Moto X pure, that I am coming from.
I am really unhappy about phone call quality. I went from a S7E on Verizon and now on FI.... so maybe due to FI. I am having issues of people calling me 4-6x and the phone does not ring. There is terrible reverb on phone calls when someone calls me; but sound is better if I call out. Others have complained about the phone call quality. So I am not sure if this is FI or P2XL.... I am seriously thinking of returning to Verizon.... But I would hate to find out the issue is the phone.

it's mostly FI. I had FI before and the call quality varied depending on if you connected to Sprint vs Tmbobile towers.
My call quality is infinitely better than on my s6 edge.
I don't have any issues with call quality on VZ. I also have a network extender, and no problems. I turned on WiFi calling. I have the Google version of the P2XL. My calls have been loud and clear.
Update: the only annoying thing is that all emails or texts interrupt the call with a beep.

Decent but not up to price
6/10 without speaker mode (voice for others is not very clear, that is what i have been told by people i call...)
4.5/10 using speaker mode (other guy keeps asking me "can u please repeat i cant hear you clear", even when i am trying to talk loud... also they told me that you sound like as if you are way too far from mic)
(Also the ear speaker sounds kinda muddy it has some kind of noise going on)
