Run Android 1.6 SDK on Emulator w/1-click!!

well your going to do more than 1 click but very simple and i also added instructions on how to get it running!
Hey everyone I was messing around with the 1.5 emulator and wondered if it was possible to run 1.6 on the emulator "and it is" so i just added all files together so you can run the android 1.6 sdk on your desktop very quick and easy!
"its fun to play with"
INSTRUCTIONS:
1)download the .rar
2)extract the Android 1.6 emulator folder inside the .rar to your desktop
3)open folder and click on (Run_Emulator) with or without boot "your choice"
4)wait (like 5-10 minutes) then it boots up
5)enjoy 1.6 SDK on emulator
NOTE:
: i tested on widows 7 "will work on others, i think"
: I did not build the emulator at all, it was made by google devs
: all i did was added the sdk files all together
: this is just for fun nothing to special here
: dont delete any of the files inside the folder
: this is just an SDK not the hole build
DOWNLOAD:
http://www.androidspin.com/downloads.php?dir=drizzy/ROM/&file=Android_1.6_Emulator_by_Drizzy_0.rar
it's fun but waiting for the actual 1.6 rom to flash...
it's not necessary to pack all that. you packed the whole tools folder from the sdk, the only files your really need are emulator.exe, ramdisk.img, run_emulator (whichever or both), and system.img
it's fun seeing how fast first boot is due to the lazy dexopting.
i'll repack and upload just the necessary parts (btw, you can add a kernel to the included ramdisk to make a boot.img and flash system and boot through adb to get this booting on your device, don't know if it's got dream drivers though.)
1.6Emulator.zip
MD5SUM:fc358b26cfff0c2950f8b8dc8ea60a99
by the way, if you already have an android sdk setup in your system, you can adb remount adb pull system with the emulator running and use the pulled files to cook a rom
hello i´m 'Osx user can somebody explain to my how i add this to osx android emulatorn?

Doesn't seem to want to work for me. There's nothing special in this though is there, since I have the 1.6 SDK anyway?
No workey for me either.
Wanted to play around with this and give to someone who wanted to play with android.

How does that help anyone in any way with Android? Pointless...
It's interesting to see the new SDK out. Does this mean they're likely close to having the full 1.6 build ready or possibly have it ready now?

[UTIL][08.12.11] Apktool v1.4.3 - a tool for reverse engineering apk files

Brut.all said:
It is a tool for reengineering 3rd party, closed, binary Android apps. It can decode resources to nearly original form and rebuild them after making some modifications; it makes possible to debug smali code step by step. Also it makes working with app easier because of project-like files structure and automation of some repetitive tasks like building apk, etc.
It is NOT intended for piracy and other non-legal uses. It could be used for localizing, adding some features or support for custom platforms and other GOOD purposes. Just try to be fair with authors of an app, that you use and probably like.
Features:
decoding resources to nearly original form
smali debugging: SmaliDebugging
helping with some repetitive tasks

Ok, now I see, that it still doesn't work for many apps. But you can try your luck ;-)
I've just released 0.9.1 version with wider apps support.

Why not? It just builds apps, not run them, so it's a question like: "Do smali can also work with Android 1.5?" ;-)
That "Android SDK installed with 2.1 platform" requirement doesn't mean, that it will build apps for 2.1 . It will just use 2.1 resources, but these are (must be) backward compatible.

Maybe much later :-/
Even if we will be able to decode it and rebuild, we'll have FC after FC. The point is: framework resources must have constant resName<->resID mappings (eg. @android:string/day must be a 0x01040298), because they are referenced by all apps and unfortunately aapt doesn't give us control over resIDs mappings. I think framework-res.apk and other system files are built using some Google's private tools.
We need to create aapt-like tool, that will use custom resIDs mappings - it should be possible and maybe not so hard, but currently I have other things to do.

Yes mate, that's a great tool indeed. But it's only for decompiling first, not for source-only compiling.
You have to download the Android SDK + Eclipse from the Android development website, import the files and build the project. Follow the instructions to configure the environment, the import and build process is actually 3 mouse clicks

[APP] Notepad++ 6.5.3a for Windows RT

Hello,
I've recompiled Notepad++ for Windows RT. I've labelled it with an 'a' because this isn't the same revision that the Win32 6.5.3 uses (it's a bit later). You will also need to install the Visual C++ 2013 runtime (get vcredist_arm.exe) because this is compiled using VS2013.
I've also bundled the Compare plugin for diffs.

[Q] how to get apktool working on android ?

How do I get apktool working on android ? Where do I download latest working version ? I had apktool working but now I flashed custom rom and I installed it again and it won't work. It won't install framework and doesn't decompile the whole app
code.google.com/p/android-apktool/
Yes, it wont decompile whole app successfully sometimes, so it's better to edit the smali code which can be wholly decompiled successfully.
Hope this can help you

I think the files in your link is not apktool...
Apktool is a jar file for decompiling and recompiling apks.
Use with cmd, example:
apktool.jar d filetobedecompile.apk
apktool.jar if frameworktobeinstall.apk
apktool.jar b filetoberecompile
It's definitely not an apk so far, so you should go to the official page on google code and download the official jar file.
Hope this can help you. Hit thanks!

I don't get what you really mean, but you can try JBED for running java file on Android.
But I strongly recommend you to use computer to decompile apks. If you don't have one, you can't decompile apks and use apktool.
