HELP - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

MY Facebook keeps reading everything back to me??? No other app? How do I disable it? every time I tap a status I see an orange rectangle and it begins to speak. LOL. It's annoying as hell!
Nevermind, found source. NotifierPro... Now to fix it.
New question, why does notifierPro make my Facebook talk...?

I laughed reading this

Really though, I only get talkback when I'm using notifier pro.. Talkback is set to off, and I didn't select Facebook to be monitored.. Weird.

Same here
Same thing happens with me on my Droid Razr running an ICS leak. Any solutions?

FIX
Hi.
Nicolas from Productigeeky here, creator of NotifierPro.
The bug you are describing is a bug in the Samsung's and HTC's version of the Android OS. This is causing Talkback to activate when enabling any accessibility service. The Samsung dev team is now aware of the issue and they are working on a fix.
Meanwhile, here is a fix that has been reported to work on Samsung Galaxy S3 (should work on HTC phones too).
- Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Talkback « ON »
- Select « Settings » from the bottom of the page
- Uncheck all Talkback options
- Switch Talkback « Off » again
- Go back to Settings -> Application manager -> All
- Disable Google TTS (text to speech)
- Disable Samsung TTS (text to speech)
If you’re experiencing the same issue on another phone, try this :
- Go to Settings -> App Manager -> Select GoogleTTS -> Disable
- Go to Settings -> App Manager -> Select SamsungTTS (on a Samsung phone) -> Disable
Regards.

[Q] Chronic ROM flashing...and the settings setup.

truth be told I have not done a diligent search so if theres already a thread for this I am dead meat! im hoping to find a way to keep on flashing moar roms without regard for the setup process of each fresh installation. With the explosion of gingerbread and all these great zips to flash, I basically am a kid in a candy store.
so after installing a brand new rom after a full wipe =====
but before I can go to titanium I need to...or after titanium I still need to...(and the following is the steps my thumb takes on its own) --
menu-settings-scroll down-applications-check off unknown sources - appease the ATTENTION! popup- back
Date & Time - 24 hour format - back
Accessibility - kickback - appease ATTENTION popup - back
Voice Input - Voice Recognizer - SafeSearch - OFF - uncheck Block offensive words - back
Language Keyboard - Swype settings - uncheck Enable Tip Indicator and Auto Capitalization (pisses me off to no end) enable HTC_IME sync userdictionary (i have my own language basically)
Location & Security - the whole damned certificate installer/secure credentials for Exchange and for hooking this phone up to severely encrypted networks -
Sound - check Silent mode - Vibrate to ALWAYS make sure all audible noisy **** is shut down and silenced
ADW launcher - and depending on what I feel like, its usually never a simple "restore" because i mean, its never the same really. but its a lot of other small tiny settings in there that need to be tweaked - no complaints there at all - i love it.
Cyanogenmod - application settings - allow application moving - back
input settings - uncheck lockscreen music controls - quick unlock - lockscreen style to rotary (cant wait for them to put a bunch more tweaks on that baby)
- trackball wake - trackball unlock - menu unlock (i hate locks) - back
Performance settings - back (slay the dragons) check off ditherin' - back
sound settings - uncheck notification - back
User interface - uncheck power prompt (AAAARGH!!!) - automatic backlight- enabled - back
status bar - uncheck show clock (i use Clockr Evolution) - back
date and provider - uncheck uncheck uncheck uncheck uncheck uncheck (hey this is completely debranded so why give them any credit?) - back
Tweaks Extras - select theme - black - back
check notifications power widgets and hide on change and indicator color to something bluish - back - widget buttons - uncheck BT GPS Sound and enable LED flashlight - Flash Mode - DEATH RAY! back - enable overscrolling - overscrolling weight - extra light - back
Call settings - left hand mode - (not to use phone but to do other stuff) - back
And thats JUST the settings.....and I usually wipe every 5 hours on average... I may be mistaken in a couple things being restored by the google servers but just a couple! everything else has to be manually pumped in. It all only takes a few minutes but really, its starting to turn me off to the point where I go "ahh i want to flash this rom but ahhh so...much.......work!" and thats before I even hit up TB. I have usually gone to TB first off before changing any settings and then found myself having to set everything up anyway. and in TB I keep having to set up my own filter file (delete music, fm radio music wallpapers, ****book, twitter, DSP manager, talkback, soundback and noisy **** like that. I can never get this filter file to stick. I never really have the time or luxury of having a full five minutes to fixup a rom file and delete the bloat out of it before I can flash it -- which is why I do all my work on the phone and no computer (prolly why I am a deadbeat throttler)
Spare Parts- Window Animations - fast transition animations - fast - fancy input - checked
superuser settings need to be silenced -- no notifications no toasts no nothin because it messes with drocap2 screenshots
then the whole Account Setup **** starts... 2 exchange ... 2 gmail ... I have to leave that screen and come back to it after sync stars to shut down the sync on most of the things, all i needs my email. and dropbox setup, bla bla bla bla.
Google did a GREAT job sandboxing apps... its for everyone/things protectionn but stilll..... i want to be able to just write one single script and keep it on my sdcard and execute it upon a successful boot after a full wipe. (Or why cant I just somehow mash a userdata.img file in there to make everything just perfect so I can feed my appetite to...flash more roms.
ok, go on -- flame away --make my day
I guess that's the way it goes for flash junkies.
Not one response? I spent so much time on that post (it was huge..I trimmed it down in half)

[Q] Disable Samsung Calendar Notifications Permanently

I'm guessing this is a bug with the Samsung calendar. I've been using the Google calendar since I've had an Epic Touch (S2) and had this issue on that phone also. After installing the Google calendar, I disable the Samsung calendar by going to Settings -> Set alerts & notifications -> Off. The problem with this is that every time I reboot, the setting resets to "Status bar notification". Because of this I end up with double notifications. Is there any way to make this setting stick? I'm thinking I probably need to uninstall the Samsung calendar or have a script run at boot (Tasker?).

Click to collapse
You can go into settings - application manager - then disable calendar
or
just use root browser and change the touchwiz calendar SJFKDL.bak
I knew it had to be something simple. Didn't even think to look in the application manager. There is a check box for Show Notifications. Unchecked it and no more double notifications. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
This isn't a permanent fix unfortunately! I'm having the same trouble and every morning or throughout the day I have to repeat that process and it doesn't stay disabled. Please advise ASAP

Notification problem in XT1033 (MIUI8)

I am using for a while the MIUI 8 Global 7.2.18 | Beta by Dio_S. I am having some problems with the notifications. Sometimes I have to open the app to get the notifications, for example: WhatsApp would only receive messages if I open the app. I dont get notifications sometimes. Instagram is the same, I have to open the app to see if there is something new.
Basically, most apps that is not being used frequently just have to be opened again to receive notifications.
What I already did to try to solve this problem:
- Battery Save is off
- In security -> 3rd option -> I selected all the apps I want and checked "no restrictions". (background configurations)
- In security -> permissions -> automatic startup -> all the apps I want are enabled.
- Developer options -> disabled memory optimization
But still, sometimes I just dont get notification. Is there any problem with this ROM or is this just bad configuration? Anybody have experienced this?

[FRP] LG Stylo 3 FRP Bypass - Boost Mobile LS777

[FRP] LG Stylo 3 FRP Bypass - Boost Mobile LS777
This tutorial is based off me freestyling then using the method of crashing the setup wizard i used on the TracFone variant here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/frp-lg-stylo-3-frp-bypass-tracfone-t3794325 . It works perfect for this model.
I'm hoping you have some experience manually removing FRP already before reading this. I'm trying to keep it short and simple. I did a video but I need to edit it before it get it online. First video! real basic but my future ones will be more professional.
Steps
1. Enable WIFI and enable Talkback then go to help then voice access and click on the title in the YouTube video not the share link. this will open YouTube.. bit different than others where you have the share ability available and you highlight the link.. hit share etc.
2. Go to the top right icon ( i )>settings> history & privacy or about> YouTube Terms Of Service. Next click top right home icon to get to chrome settings next scroll down and click settings scroll down to site settings and click it, click on location, it should say "location access is turned off for this device." click on the text highlighted in blue "turned off for this device." tap yes, click the highlighted text again if nothing pops up. Turn location on, tap agree, goto google location history, tap manage, now you are in google maps, top right click skip next hit the back arrow, now click the top left 3 lines (menu), tap "got it" now select start driving, tap "got it", top right click the microphone and say "settings" now you are in settings. If you don't land in settings but in the search just scroll over to "In Apps" and select "Settings" as it should show below.
3. While in security this first time go to Fingerprints and Security> phone administrators> turn find my device off by clicking deactivate. Now go to apps and disable/force stop then clear data/cache for each of these Guardian Gadget / Setup Wizard (should be 3) / Google Account Manager / Google Play Services.
4. Now goto bluetooth and turn on your bluetooth headset and pair the device. Restart your phone. Press your headset button and say "settings" you should get a message about google play services being disabled. enable it, hit back and go back into settings.
4b. Alternate step without headset: follow all steps above to get back into settings you will get a prompt along the way about google play services being disabled so enable it and get back to settings.
5. Go back to Fingerprints and Security and enable unknown sources. Get to google chrome and download these 3 apps and install / open each. Sidebar / quick shortcut maker / shortcut master lite. Swipe from the left on your phone with two fingers to bring the sidebar into view and add phone, file manager, chrome, google app, settings, quick shortcut maker and lastly shortcut master lite. Not all of these are required but if you want to screw around with finding some other shortcuts places they come in handy. I found a few other ways and also left them so that i could enable USB switch test and run UAT Universal Android Tool / Miracle Box / other boxes i have / apps to disable FRP via ADB. (this I haven't got around to just yet)
5b. Alternate step without headset: After you are in settings go to app> youtube> notifications> click top right icon ( i ), about then click on About Google Privacy Policy. Now you are in the browser.
6. **WARNING** whatever you do do NOT goto your android home via quick shortcut maker as it will throw up a message about FRP and auto reset/erase your phone disabling everything you've done thus far. So do not add it to sidebar or even click it.
7. Now click on settings and goto Apps, tap 3 dots, select show system apps and now you are going to Disable/Force Stop and clear Cache/Data of all these apps. Google App / Google Backup Transport / Google Calender Sync / Google Contacts Sync / Google Drive Promotion / Google One Time Init / Google Partner Setup / Google Play Services / Google Play Store / Google Services Framework / Google Text-To-Speech Engine / Setup Wizard (all 3).
8. Now pull into view the Sidebar and click on Shortcut Master Lite. Click on the top right 3 dots and click search. Type Setup Wizard into the bottom search field and click search. Now click on the first Setup Wizard link that shows. com.android.LGSetupWizard.SetupHomeInit and click launch.
9. You should be back at the setup screen. Forward through until you get to wifi and shut it off.
10. Now comes the last but fun part. We are going to crash the Setup Wizard. Go back to the start screen of the setup wizard and repeadtly go forward and back until the app crashes and do this until you see the home screen (remind you of iphone glitches? ha) it WILL work just have to do it many times. Once you get to the home screen, go into settings and enable developer mode then get into developer mode and enable OEM Unlock next goto Backup and Reset and reset your phone. DONE. Enjoy your phone now.

[GUIDE] Blocking WhatsApp video & voice calls completely [ROOT]

Do you want to disable WhatsApp video and voice calling?
Here are the requirements:
- WhatsApp (obviously)
- Rooted Android Device
- App Manager by MuntashirAkon ( https://f-droid.org/en/packages/io.github.muntashirakon.AppManager/ )
Old WhatsApp versions (pre-2019):
- Open App Manager
- Go to WhatsApp
- Select "Services" tab
- Disable all services related to "Voice" and "Video"
Newer WhatsApp versions (released in 2019 and up):
- Open App Manager
- Go to WhatsApp
- Select "Activities" tab
- Search for "voip"
- Disable *all* "voip" activities (like this: https://i.imgur.com/mrfMaNL.png )
- Go to your "System Settings" => "Apps" => "WhatsApp" => "Notifications"
- Disable notifications for "Call notifications" and "Silent notifications"
- Go to WhatsApp, open WhatsApp "Settings", "Notifications"
- Scroll down to "Calls"
- Set ringtone to "Silent" and Vibrate to "Off"
Enjoy
Note: People will still be "able" to call you, and they will think your phone is ringing - but you don't know they are calling you unless you are in WhatsApp app itself, or you check your messages to find a missed call.
