HTC One S Lanyards - HTC One S

Can lanyards work for the One S? Like this one?
http://shop.htcpedia.com/android-robot-cloth-screen-cleaner.html
Can it be attached to the device?

Can anyone help with this?

I see no place on the HOS that you can hook a lanyard to. Why would you want one anyway...would mess up the overall design and flow of the device. guess its a preference thing.

I had a slot for a lanyard on my MT4GS And it's great for when I had basketbal shorts on.. I was worried about hopping out of the car and it slipping out my pockets.
I was bummed the HOS didn't have a slot but it's definitely not a deal breaker.

[Q] IS this case a good idea? Is it already made? [UPDATE]

UPDATE
I actually found a silicone case on ebay. Its not how I wanted it to be but its still cool. Its a 2 piece and come in different colors. Something cool to mention is that it goes on top of the key board. I like the black and white ones the most
------------------------------------------------------------------------
A hard or silicone case that wraps/hugs the phone. For people like me that don't use the keyboard. So once you have the case you cant open it to use the keyboard. I hate letting people use my phone and they either play with the keyboard and messes up my hinge and etc. I have a case already (clear case with kickstand) but i want a case where it just wraps the whole phone so no one can flip out the keyboard.
Who thinks this is a good idea?
is it already made and I just dont know?
I think it's a pretty good idea.
i explained to my girlfriend how i thought the hinge was flimsy and i was worried about it breaking in the future. yet she still has to slide they keyboard numerous times a day, HARD. REALLY starting to piss me off. Friends do it too... it just needs a gentle push.. jesus

The one piece silicone cases are much better then the garbage protection we have now.
I DO use rubberbands already. Do any of you still have the bands that came on the usb and headphones in the retail box? I just have one wrapped around the trackpad. It works just fine for me and the black matches my case. Still slides out of my pocket just as easily as it did before, with the gel tmo case that is.
Saves my battery, my hinge, my keyboard, and gave me a reason to flash the amazing gingerbread multitouch keyboard sweetness of doom.

Then why didn't you just get a MyTouch 4G instead? If you never use the hardware keyboard, then it is just added weight and bulk. The MyTouch 4G trades a hardware keyboard for a front camera, more RAM, faster CPU, etc.

My girlfriend got a free G2 from the tmobile loyalty program several weeks back, and she's been wanting a case like this, as she never uses the physical keyboard. I don't think it's too ludicrous of a request. If it's between a free phone that happens to have a QWERTY and one that costs $120-200, I think it's relatively a no brainer.
I'm thinking of telling her to try this case: http://www.wirelessground.com/t-mobile-g2-aluminum-black-case.html. I just hope it doesn't add too much bulk.
I so want a case like the one described above. it would be one step closer to having a Desire HD
I felt the same way, initially, but have grown rather fond of being able to see the entire screen while I type. Not so sure I'd give that up now.

Duct tape is my solution for everything Even if I can't make an apple tree grow oranges. My solution? Duct tape an orange seed to the apple tree. Now all we have to do is wait, because I'm sick of apple juice and I want some orange juice for a change

Does anyone know if a case like this exists, yet is two piece, without a hinge, so the case still holds the phone together via some sort of clip mechanism?
Sent from my rooted HTC Vision running cm6.1.1
found a case??? update yeah!
Don't know if its made but I believe I found temporary solution. Don't kill me if you don't like it ... I DID SAY IT'S TEMP....
anyway, I'm using a HTC trophy silicone case....
Don't laugh please it has its limitations obviously, but does the trick brilliantly. I will post photos if there is any interest...

I'm interested. Its fine, is it a good fit?
It feels like it covers too much of the screen. What if i want the notification bar to go down. I had the same prob with some cases

Galaxy S skins? Are they reliable?

anyone tried them? the ones like stickers and i don't mean the transparent ones i mean the ones with colors and designs like this one for example: w w w.skinomi.com/samsung-fascinate-carbon-fiber-skin-protector.html
its a good idea to protect the phone without bulky cases I'm just worried about the edges are they peeling off due to everyday use like putting them in pockets and taking them out? anyone can share his experience?
I've used them on other devices and they do really stick. For my SGS I got a replacement back plate instead and love it.

I've used similar decals on my ipod they worked well, removable to.
Ones I had before where from decal girl I think
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Yes I like decalgirl. Neat stuff there, lots of choices. They come off clean as well and can be adjusted a little when you first put them on. They just go on the back and the front, no side coverage which is ok because that's where it gets messy. I had an Omnia 2 and the cutouts were very good.

Case mate Pop! Case

I just noticed these on the casemate website. Looks similar to the tough case. Someone should buy one and let me know how it is lol.

Is this, like their tough case, two pieces that fit into each other?
On the web page, they make it seem like they have formed the two plastics of this case into one piece but I can't tell.
I think its still two piece. I vote white!

It is one piece made of two materials(hard rubberand plastic) and it does not have two layers,so it is very and I mean very difficult to put it on the phone and take it off.It id also easy to scratch because plastic is high gloss.i had it on Desire HD and swap it for Tough which offers much better protection. But I have to admit that Pop is looker
just ordered a white one today
Couple questions about this case.
1: Is the inner layer on this like soft sillicone?
(I'm not liking the harder material that TPU is on my phone. I can tell its wearing on the front corners and making the matte finish to be shiny.)
2: The only hole that im worried about is the one above the camera and it seems to be covered. Is this hole actually anything to worry about?
(They are all just mounting points for antenna contacts, but the one above the camera is the only one that leads to a hole in the phone housing.)
3: Can anyone post pictures of this yet?
Looks pretty sweet, Someone post some pictures once you receive it.

[Q] Micro Arc Oxidation failure?

Does anybody has got the problem with the ceramic surface which is shown in the following pictures??
Looks like a major problem with the production technology :-(
Looks more like markings of a drop to me.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
Yeah looks like a drop
Don't think the Micro Arc protects from drops.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
you drop it? micro arc oxidation didn't give protection from drops.
Guys,
When I first read this I thought the same thing that the device had been dropped... however I have just looked closely at my own device and the same thing is happening on the sharp edge on the left hand side
My device has NOT been dropped or mistreated in any way.
"It features aircraft 6,000 series aluminum which is treated with micro arc oxidation by blasting it with 10,000 volts of energy. This gives the metal a ceramic feel and causes it to become five times harder (that’s three times stronger than stainless steel).
The shell of the HTC One S is so durable that HTC claims that it does not even need a protective case. "
The shown devices were not droped. A lot of the One S look like this after one week of safely carrying . Belive me, your devices will show the same failure in approxamitly one or two weeks.
It looks like the brittle ceramic skin can't hold on to the flexible aluminum. Like I said major problem with the production technology.
The nice words of HTC are advertising words.
I am not surprised of the problem and I think it to be idiotic to have such a sharp edge. What else can you expect?
Is there anyone else who experiences the same thing?
Damn.. I really wanted the One S. Yet If the ceramic back is this easily damaged without dropping.. I might not get it. I hate cases.

Same here, this could be the only reason why I won't buy this phone. I never use cases because it makes the phone ugly imo. And I don't know if I want the grey version..
LOL...i noticed some spots up there too after reading this thread and was concerned at first but the white marks could be "rubbed-away" like the marks from fingernails on the back which was shown in a lot of videos ... just try it.
hey, they use this stuff for satelites...

Not working here my friend
How bad is this problem? Do more people experience it?
Also, does it happen to the blue version as well? Otherwise I might change my pre-order to that..
Gosh that looks bad... Does it really go after rubbing as mentioned by jodue??
The blue one got another treatment. There is no ceramic surface which can come off.
There is no way to rub the damage away. The Oxidation to Al2O3 happens only under high temperatures. If the ceramic skin can't hold on the the aluminum it will be damaged permanently
Wow. This is making me reconsider my choice. Got a One S due for delivery tomorrow and might be tempted to send it straight back either for the grey one or for the One X having seen this.

Same here..
Though its not available in India yet , I was planning to buy it when it hits Indian market.
So if any One S user reads this, could he/she share some experiences with the ceramic surface? Even if you do not have any problems at all. It would be nice to find out if this is just a bad product, or a common problem..
I've had mine a few days and not dropped it or anything, it seems to have started on mine though. If it gets any worse over the next couple of days I'll have to take it back, not sure what to do though as I love the phone and don't like it as much in grey/blue
Anybody contacted HTC about this yet?

OEM HTC One X Case

Thanks in advance!
Had it. Returned it.
Offers no protection and makes the phone very slippery.
Got it for $15. Not worth it. Definitely not worth it at $30.
All imo of course.

How ridiculous of HTC to release such a flimsy case for such an expensive price. I saw a picture of this case snapped in half quite easily.
Clearly someone at HTC was playing a joke, I mean blue and orange? $30? I feel like they're virtually feeding us crazy pills.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I like mine and use it when not at work. I work out in the field and use the best buy case and holster combo. It's nice when going out to dinner and showing off the great design of the one x. FYI that link is for the one x and not for the att or rogers(xl) version.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I realize now that this is a slightly different case than the one I was mentioning. This is the official case for the international One X. I don't know if this is quite as flimsy as the one for the One XL, but it probably wouldn't fit on the XL anyways. Could anyone confirm this? i'm interested in grabbing the white one for my fancy times.
The white one reminds me of a golf ball.. but they should've kept this pattern for the US version instead of the stripe/bar pattern we got.
I can't vouch for that one specifically. I do have the HC 700 for my XL though. Unfortunately since I'm a new user it won't let me link it, but you can find it on the site you found that one under the HC 700 model number.
It's for the International version but I decided to give it a shot for my phone. It does fit, just not perfectly. You can feel a little(barely) flex in it if you press down on the back of the phone's edges. The camera lens also doesn't line up completely but luckily the flash is not covered and the lens is not covered, just a little of the ring around the lens gets obscured by the case. Same thing goes with the hole for the speaker, it just barely comes up to the point where the holes for the speaker are but it doesn't cover them, but it does leave a larger gap at the top of the speaker holes. None of the buttons or input/output jacks are affected though. Since that is a similar case I'm sure the results would be similar.
I primarily got the case to keep the back of my White One X(L) from getting scratched, so far it's doing its job so I can't really complain too much about the minor alignment issues.
Yes,also know this case from other forums that it's don't do good protection..
