ICS Update for Canadian 7+ Owners - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Uh, has anyone in Canada actually gotten the update to ICS?
Seems awfully quiet up there.

bull****)Im not in canada but quite sure that there is no ics)
Sent from my GT-P6200 using xda premium

It was supposed to start rolling out on April 30th.
http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/30/samsung-canada-ics-touchwiz-rollout/
But all those Canadian owners of the Galaxy Tab 7.0+ who are registered users of this forum have yet to actually confirm this . . . .

I just confirm to VitaZora I dont have any upgrade for canadian 7.0 plus (no IR)

Check the thread garyd9 started - there have been responses. No update yet - and the release only to all those devices said the 7.0 Plus was ELIGIBLE for the upgrade, not that it'd be deployed on all those devices by May 1. The ICS upgrade is rolling out to Galaxy SII owners right now, but no official date for the Tab series has been given.

If I am right, I think I understood that the Galaxy line's ICS update was starting to roll out in Canada on May 1st, but would keep going on until all the eligible devices receive the update anywhere between now and the end of Q2.

No ICS yet
Hi; I am in Canada , have the p6210 wifi only and no ICS update yet through ota, have registered with Samsung as some have suggested, Kies says cannot update device through Kies, still waiting

sam mobile just posted a new firmware for GT-P6210.
region: P6210UELA3_P6210XARLA3_XAR
of course, I still cant find GT-P6210 anywhere in the firmware lists, 6200,6201,and 6211 is all I see for tab plus.
edit: Not ICS, HC3.2 found here with link.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522382
Will let you know if I find anything interesting.
wrong thread, I know. I got excited, as I said I never saw them post a 6210.

here is the download link https://hotfile.com/dl/155348910/540f836/GT-P6210_XAR_P6210UELA3_P6210XARLA3_P6210UELA3.zip.html
when any of the P6210 owners will install this new firmware please let us know if its the ICS upgrade

Interesting. I had wondered why sammobile.com hasn't had any firmwares posted for the GT-P6210. http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1#osa
I don't see any signs of 6210 firmware at sammobile.com. http://twitter.com/#!/samkiesupdates
I see it here - http://fus.nanzen.se/

LA3 is the Honeycomb update from January.

Where did hotfire link come from? I am willing to try it but do not want to brick my 6210.

I just bought my GT7+ and checked for update - there is none.

anyone want to take a crack at it?
its on sammobile, you could probably also use checkfus if you have something against sammobile.
Im not at a computer, so I cant check OS info w/CheckFus. Was hoping this might be 4.0 as a post I started a while back advertised Thailand gettin ICS March29-30th.
As of De-Odexed & Zip-Align, try my DIY how-to in my thread. Should take you ~ 20 minutes.

I'd sure like to see it as a good sign that they are releasing new GT-P* firmware updates. Who knows!
Has anyone flashed this baby yet. Chris should we flip a coin to decide who's first?
Seriously speaking, does anybody have any info on the phone provider just to make sure that our malaysian tab is radio compatible in Thailand.

P6210 Offical Samsung UK Stock ROM

Hi all,
I am trying to follow up on the rumours of ICS being released in the UK via Kies. However, I have a US firmware on my SGT 7+ (P6210UELA3) and I'd like to get the UK version (or EU if there isn't a UK one) on there to see if I can grab the ICS update.
Does anyone have a link to the official UK/EU firmware from which I can grab and flash the ROM?

He heard it here from qubeuk user: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28725729
It may be a short-term released firmware he accidentally updated to, but it's not available yet. According to its build time, it was compiled some hours after the P6200 firmware.
I understand Samsung strategy. Releases only one firmware per device per week, only for one small region. They know xda members will jump on it, install it, and besides Austrian users, experienced users will stress-test the firmware. Maybe they solve bugs, too, like the P6800 WIFI bug (and I bet this can be applied to P6200 users, too, check P6800 forum). After testing that, they will fix all errors and release firmwares for all regions and all models in a few weeks.
And, they're right. No better and cheaper testers than experienced users. And this way, simple users will just get a stable version later.

I don't wanna get into a useless fight but think it over again. Open your eyes and see what happens when a device like tab7+ comes to surface months after ICS is introduces with HC installed and almost a year is needed to get ICS in a very limited region first, but letting experienced users to install it on their device. Why? Money?
Believe me, this is the strategy. This way, major bugs affect only a few "official" users (Austrian people), but experienced ones can find all bugs by using and testing devices for free. Why? Less investment?
So, "sorry", but believe this is how it works. And I believe your opinion is based on decades of software production knowledge, but mine is.

Here is the link for the official UK 4.04 ICS firmware for the P6210 I've downloaded and installed via Odin today on 2 6210's no problems and much better than honeycomb. I also change my CSC as mine was set to France and now set to UK so updates via Kies work etc.

I used a program from the play store which change the CSC from XEF (France) to XEU (UK) link below. It didn't state that it work for the GT-P6210 but did work fine with a little messing. If I ran it from 3.2 Honeycomb it didn't come up with any options to change the CSC and just showed I was on XEF (France) CSC so what seemed to work for me is to factory reset 3.2 (or 4.04 if you have already installed update)and leave it at the language selection screen do not enter any set-up details then turn off and enter download mode and flash 4.04 firmware from Odin. Once that's finished complete initial set-up and get into the 4.04 OS and install CSC selector from the Play store and run it selecting XEU (UK) from the list and install the new CSC. This will automatically do another full reset on the device changing the CSC to the new region and will now updates OTA or through Kies no problem as your CSC matches the firmware (this is confirmed when you open Kies as it shows the CSC on the initial screen).
Whenever you change the CSC it always wipes the device a little annoying but only needs doing the once so not a big problem to get the device right.

[Q] Software Update - choosing country?

Hi Everyone,
I got the Galaxy Note 10.1 as a gift for a friend. While I was checking if everything was working fine, I noticed that there is an option to chose the country for 'software updates'.
The device was bought in Helsinki, Finland and will be gifted to a person who will be moving to the US soon for higher studies. At the moment, I didn't chose any country and just let it be. Can someone let me know what this location choosing is all about for the software update?
For example, If I chose Finland now and later when the device is in the US, will it receive software updates only when there is an update released for Finland? On the other hand, is it fine if we already chose "US" as the country even though the device is still here in Europe?
Thanks in advance. Cheers....
The product code determines witch updates will be available not your choice of country to view the TOS in.

Thanks.
So it doesn't matter if I chose US or UK or Finland now for setting the software update?
But then why does the location need to be set for software updates when starting up a new device?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
You are not setting any thing, you are choosing which TOS to read.
Follow up question... if I may.
My Note 10.1 came from HK (N8000OZSALI1) but I see that there are a bunch of 4.1.1 updates for other countries. Can I use those with my Note so I can update it (via Odin i assume) ?
Yep... Via ODIN or mobile ODIN...

Stock Update JB 22-FEB-2013 Samsung Official release schedule

The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is getting bumped up to Jelly Bean.
Samsung's official schedule is ...........
22-FEB-2013 !!!
Subject to change........
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sams...axy-Note-S-II-in-March-Ace-2-in-April_id39393
So we should expect test releases very soon
This could very well be an OTA file, instead of a full ROM tarball.
We would need to find the base Ukranian firmware. Maybe keep changing CSC on Ukraine stock until it shows OTA available.
Thanks for the news, GOD I hope its in a few weeks..

Heads up last night I saw Japan Tab 7.0 Plus Kies Update from @SamKiesUpdates,

While I dont think we should start ripping this apart and bricking devices attempting to port,
I think our JB is on its way soon..

Don;t be silly, the 6210 will probably be one of the first to update, they don;t have to clear with a cell provider first.
The UK P6210 was the fist to get ICS 4.0.4 , so we will be watching for a UK update to JB
Welp, I searched for a base Ukraine firmware previously and there was none not even HC.
Samfirmware just posted a 4.0.4 Ukraine (Kyivstar) firmware and Kazakhastan 4.0.4 firmware.
They are dated Sep/Oct though..
good news to me..

That is indeed good news. Samsung is trying to get everyone (P62xx) up to the same baseline before the JB update.
There is also a recently posted China update for p6210
PDA: P6210ZCLPC
CSC: P6210OZHLPC
Version: 4.0.4
Date: 2013-01-28
I would expect the updates for P62xx Tab 7 plus to come out about the same time as P68XX Tab 7.7 since the hardware is very similar.

Samsung is pushing out all the 4.0.4 builds to get everyone on the same baseline before JB 4.1.2 starts rolling out.
Although not the quickest release (us customers are never happy) I am glad that Samsung is pushing out something for the p6200 - I am glad we have not been forgotten....

Tizen 3.0 Gear S3 Verizon but not connected to Verizon. How will I get Tizen 3.0?

I have the Gear S3 Verizon version but I am not currently connected to Verizon. Will I ever get the 3.0 Tizen update if I am not actually connected to Verizon? IMHO easier... VZW Firmware is online... confirmed from other users...
THEN you try the normal way with Samsung Gear App and check for Firmware...
THEN you will see:
Work or not work.
And if not work... It is possible to find why it not update...
Chance to fix.
We know nothing about your configuration...
No idea which handset... Samsung or other Manufacturer...
We not know if Samsung will force to update to new Plugins or new Gear Manager Software or...
Maybe connection problems maybe...
I hope you understand now... why I answered so in my first post.

The answer to your question is yes. Your phone downloads the software, then pushes it to your device. There is no dependency on whether or not it has a mobile connection. That would be a huge oversight considering gear s3s that are wifi only dont have an issue getting updates.
I have the SM-R765A (LTE) from ATT and I have not received the update yet. What site are you referencing that shows no update yet for the 765 Family? Also, is it Samsung or ATT delaying the update? It wouldn't surprise me if it's ATT.

This is 1 way to check FOTA Firmware from Samsung Server. Without buying these devices...
These are no Direct Links...
IMHO usefull if somebody ask about Firmware..
Maybe not usefull for you... but maybe for someone else.
Example...
ATT User ask about latest Firmware for SM-R765A...
Then I can check this Link:
http://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/ATT/SM-R765A/version.xml
With open eyes I can see latest Version is at the moment:
Code:
R765AUCU2[B]BQD4[/B]/R765AATT2BQD4/R765AUCU2BQD4
So BQD4 is latest Firmware for ATT SM-R765... and it is NOT Tizen 3.
User can compare infos on device by checking About device infos... or by typing Code:
Code:

Same for Verizon SM-R765V...
Code:
R765VVRU1AQF4/R765VVZW1AQF4/R765VVRU1AQF4
Latest BUT not Tizen 3...
IMHO earliest Tizen 3 Firmware for SM-R765 family will start with CQK. or in December CQL.
So wait is all you can do...

Some are saying hard reset fixes, but others state it hasn't.
I'm not personally aware of the 3.0 benefits as I've not researched yet, but odds are I'll wait to let it update until I see it sorted.
I can't think of any feature that would be worth giving up three days battery for inside 24 hours...

Samsung has released a new update to address the problem
I Have the latest (?) version Tizen 3.0.0.1 (BT version watch).
R760XXU2CQK3
When checking for update (tried more than ones and more than one day), I get notification:
"Unable to update the software. A network or server error occured. Try again later".
Watch is connected to network. Tried also another network. But same result.
Checking if watch makes a good network connenction: I can install watchfaces etc. So this is not the problem.
Anybody any idea? Someting wrong with de Samsung server?
(from Holland)
No idea why...
But seems ATT Tizen 3 Firmware online...
