[Q] HTC Tattoo Recovery Mode Menu incomplete - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hello everybody,
I own a HTC Tatto, I'm trying to update the system to Andorid 2.3 Gingerbread and I have a problem with recovery I cannot solve.
I'm following the instructions of site wiki cyanogenmod
(I put the text below, I can't make a link on the page on this first mine message!!)
I've rooted the phone succesfully, installed clockworkmod recovery of different relases (3.*, 5.*) both from adb and ROM manager, but when I try to flash CyanogenMod I coulden't.
I have only 4 voices on the recovery menu :
- recovery
- apply update.zip
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
I tried to use apply update.zip, but it gives me an error of no signature problem.
Following the guide I wanted to do the steps :
Install zip from sdcard.
Select Choose zip from sdcard. But I DON'T HAVE THEM ON THE MENU!!!
Please help, I'm going mad about this!
Thanks in advance,
Paolo F.C.

[Q] HTC Desire S is wiped and without clockworkmod [SOLVED]

Hi, i received HTC sense 3.0 and android 2.3.5 update. I tried to update it but it stuck on boot screen. Restarting didn't help. So I wiped all the data but later realised I no longer have clockworkmod installed.
I go to hboot and try to put recovery on sdcard through adb, but adb cant find my device.
Is there anything I can do? My phone is pretty messed up now, and I don't know what to do RUU also doesn't work, because my phone can't be found.
// #1 OK I managed to install clockworkmod through the Android Flasher. I've downloaded BeatMod BlissSense Hybrid v2.1.zip but I cant install it through the clockworkmod. It says:
"E:Error in /sdcard/BeatMod BlissSense Hybrid v2.1.zip
(Status 1)
Installation aborted."
// #2 sorry to bother.. I disabled the verification check in clockworkmod, installed su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip and then custom ROM.. everything now works fine. Of course with the help of tutorials on xda and great people over here.
This was the worst 4 hours in my live as I thought my phone is bricked.

You don't appear alone with problem, so thanks for re-editing the thread post to provide updates, if you have the time and could try to add any URLs and links to the files that you used to resolve your issues, then that would be great!
I've already several threads where it appears the update has put others in the same position, so your update could prove to be a useful resource assisting the recovery of others!
Cheers.

HTC Desire S Recovery: http://downloads.saga-lbc-mod.de/recovery-images/PG88IMG-RECOVERYIMG-3.2.0.0.zip (unzip and use only recovery.img)

ROM (I used this): http://dev-host.org/80uvbx4wgf4l/BeatMod_BlissSense_Hybrid_v2.1.zip
----
Install ClockworkMod:
What you need to do is get the phone to fastboot and connect it to the PC via USB.
Launch and update Android Flasher. Choose your phone and browse for recovery image (recovery.img that you have unzipped)
Click finish and wait. Clockworkmod should by installed.
Get files on the phone:
Go to recovery
Mounts and storage menu
Mount USB storage
Then copy files (custom ROM you want to install and su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip) from PC to SD card
Install Root:
Go to recovery
Install zip from SD card
Toogle signature verification (disable it)
Choose zip from card and install su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip
Choose zip from card and install custom ROM
Optional steps? (right after installing clockworkmod)
Go to recovery
Wipe data
Go to advanced
Mounts and Storage menu
Format /sdcard
That's it. Hope it helps.

[Q] New PG888.zip Firmware Installation

OK - So I've flashed the latest Primo-s (V4.0) custom ROM and still having a few bugs - I've read through the forum that flashing the new firmware will help get rid of these bugs that I am experience. I have downloaded the firmware and placed it within the route folder on my SD care however, When I try to "apply update from zip" I receive an installation aborted error message, I am using the latest Clowkwork Touch recovery and have also tried installing the update via the ROM manager app. Can someone please advise.
Thanks

You never install a firmware from recovery
Read teh forums
1) Put ZIP in SDcard
2) reboot into bootloader
3) the phone will detect the zip file and install it
4) reboot,, it might get stuck at boot animation
5) reboot into recovery and delte teh zip from sd card via adb shell
6) format cache and dalvik
7) reboot and enjoy..
If you would have read the forums, and threads you would have known what needs to be done.
If you are not comfortable with all of these steps, donot do any of it till you understand what they are!!!
Thanks for your reply. I was actually just posting to say please disregard this thread as I had now managed, It was as you said automatically detected.. Thanks anyway

[Q] Updating PhilZ Touch Recovery

Hi,
I am running PAC-ROM | All-in-One-ROM [4.3 / 4.2.2 ] on my 5110 with Philz Touch 5.03.7 (Base version 6.0.3.2) but want to install the following Rom:
[P51xx][5.x] CyanogenMod (CM12 / CM 12.1).
But I believe I need to update my Recovery to install a LP rom.
I have gone through the [GT-P51XX] TWRP | PhilZ Touch | CWM Thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548476) to try to understand what I need to do but I am still unsure of exactly what I need to do.
I've located the files for the new recovery from (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=25711) but I am unsure whether I flash the md5 file or the Tar file (or both)? Also, can I flash this new recovery from the Recovery I have currently got.
Any help with this would be appreciated as I haven't messed about with ROMs for over a year so I am a bit (a lot) rusty at the moment.
Thanks in advance
TWRP recovery is better and more intuitive.
Grab the latest zip file, not tar.md5 file, from here :
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=25708
and flash it directly from your PhilZ recovery.
Cool, cheers. Do I need to factory reset device before flashing that?
Thanks again
Just follow the OP instructions :
Installation
First time installing CyanogenMod to your Galaxy Tab 2, or coming from another ROM:
Read the official wiki
Copy GApps and CM-Rom ZIPs to your internal SDCard
Boot into Recovery
wipe data factory reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvic cache
format system
Flash CM-Rom ZIP from internal SDCard
Flash GApps zip from internal SDCard
Reboot
Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!

I was ok with the rom instructions, I couldn't find any instructions about flashing the recovery.
I just went for it so all sorted now, thanks for help.

[Completed] Instructions howto install Cyanogen rom on Kingzone K1 turbo

Hii
on the Cyanogen 12.1 rom page I found the following instruction on howto install the rom.
To some of the steps, I have an answer: (in brackets)
Thank you a lot
Download the ROM (clear)
Download GApps package (clear)
Put the zip files on your SDCard (I assume on the internal SD card, not the additional one?)
Reboot in Recovery (My phone is encrypted. Do I have to decrypt/reset it in factory mode and then press power and volume down simultaneously?)
Wipe Data/Factory Reset (I assume there is a menue point with this?)
Install CM12 zip file (how is the installation started?)
Install GApps zip file (dito above)
Reboot system (clear)
Enjoy CyanogenMod 12 .

[Completed] Can't install CM12 to Galazy S2 I9100P

I've downloaded the latest stable files and followed the instructions here to the letter:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/rom-cyanogenmod-12-t2955551
But I cannot get CM12 to install. If I boot the phone using stock recovery I can see and select the CM12 zip file but I get the 'Signature verification failed' error. If I use CWM recovery where I can toggle signature verification on and off, it's like it can't even see my SD card. Even though it says that the current directory = /sdcard it isn't, and instead just shows everything on the device internal memory.
Can anybody help? I've been stuck with this for about 8 hours.
I've also tried installing TWRP recovery. This does at least see my SD card and let me choose the CM12 zip file, but when I press the 'FLASH NOW' button, it asks me if I'm sure I want to reboot to recovery and complete the specified actions then does absolutely nothing when I select 'OK'.
Having spent hours trying various different things, I've made some progress and can now at least get CWM to see my SD card and the CM12 zip file. Unfortunately the installation fails with an error 7. I've deleted all of the 'getprop' entries from the 'updater-script' but it's made no difference. Please can someone help?
Thanks to the overwhelming support and advice received on here I managed to get it working
I'm posting this in case anybody else happens to have the same problem and finds this thread. This is what worked for me:
1. Download and install Odin
2. Flash stock ROM
3. Flash rooted kernel (I used one with CWM pre-installed)
4. Update CWM to v 6
5. Perform factory reset
6. Wipe cache
7. Wipe Dalvik cache
8. Install CM12
9. Install Google apps
Hello,
Glad you found your way,
