when i hook my phone up (rogers) kies gives me the firmware versions with at&t at the end and says it does not support updating i used the sammobile TAR to go back to stock does anyone know how to solve this
Sounds like you flashed the wrong tar. There's an att and a Rogers tar.

I thought the same thing downloaded the rogers tar again and same thing
Is anyone else with rogers having this issue or have a fix ?

You can try a firmware restore through Kies. You will lose everything on the internal sdcard.
just tested it out myself and Kies was able to recognize my i727r.
I did notice that after flashing the stock sammobile rogers firmware that my old programs were still listed and was receiving fc's.
Did a factory data reset including usb storage though settings/privacy and connected to kies and didnt have any issues recognizing my i727r that had the most up to date firmware (no ics yet :S )
Maybe you just needed to do a factory reset?
i tried the factory reset after still nothing still says my phone is at&t any other suggestions !

to double/triple check... the file you got from sammobile is "I727RUXKJ7_I727RRWCKJ7_RWC.zip" correct?
Not sure what process you did or if it matters what rom your coming from.
I did the following steps:
Originally running MHX - Superlight 3.1 (GB)
1 - booted into download mode
2 - attached usb to pc
3 - started odin 1.85
4 - connected phone
5 - only had "reboot" checked off
6 - extracted "I727RUXKJ7_I727RRWCKJ7_RWC.zip"
7 - loaded md5 file extracted from above through PDA browse button
8 - clicked start
After odin completed i removed my usb cable. Once phone booted up did a factory reset and used the format usb option. After format was complete phone rebooted and connected it to pc and started up Kies.
i restored back to stock using odin and the rogers tar from sammobile, forgot to reset or clear anything, my thinking this stock tar would erase everything, kies tells me it is a rogers firmware
I accidentally flashed the Rogers on my att skyrocket and it was a real pain to get back to att, Odin was used to get to Rogers but after trying several times I just flashed to skyics rom then used Odin again to get back to att.

I have an Infuse 4g that I've rooted and romed multiple times with no problem, but about 2 months ago I updated it to 4.2.1, rooted and romed it with paranoid android and eventually bricked It and restored it back to stock using Odin. I was planning to sell it until I changed my mind because it's such an awesome phone , so I decided to reroot it. That's when I tried rerooting it, but it didn't show up on the computer when I connected it. I even tried using 3 other computers, different usb cords, and even the different usb ports on the computers as recommended.
I've never had this kind of problem before, and if I did I looked on here and always found the answer. I even waited to see if anyone had the same problem which I did find a thread on it, but it has become inactive with no solution. I would be very grateful and willing to donate to someone who could help. I'd much rather donate some money than having to buy another phone that I can root . Thanks in advance

I already have stock 2.3.6. and it won't go into download mode anyways because it doesn't connect to the computer.
you can try using a usb-jig and force it into download mode

If I understand correctly, the 'jig' option only helps getting into dowload mode, correct ? I have files on the phone I would have life to get off, how do you suggest I go about doing this ?

Hey, what do you suggest for getting files off the phone unto a computer?
1 - jig = download mode
2 - files to PC?
- USB, mount drives to copy sdcards
- USB, run ADB from Android SDK to copy anything... Use adbmagic or android commander for a window-based interface
- SMB, to copy to PC via wifi
-CIFS (if the kernel supports it) to copy to PC via wifi
First option is easiest, others require some searching, reading, learning, and setup on your part.
--- if you are talking about your apps, run TiBu first and then copy the contents of the TitaniumBackup folder from phone to PC along with everything else you want to save.
--- To fix USB connection problems, if you are running windows, you can try removing the phone usb entries from device manager. I wrote something up on this a while ago.. I'll post a link when I'm back in front of a computer.

Didnt know there was an ND5. There wasnt even an ND5 when I downloaded the kernel source code from samsung. And nope, There like 2 knox files in the entire firmwares which is just left behind crap I believe. Absolutely does not give you a knox bootloader and crap tho. Do make sure your tablet is a T230NU model and not just a T230 model.
Thanks a lot for this. So if I'm rooted and want to install system updates I would first backup data to sd card via titanium ,(or to pc?) , then factory restore via settings, Odin with this firmware, install updates, then vroot + terminal supersu, then restore backups.... correct? I'm still trying to figure out what bloatware is safe to remove...a guide on how to clean a out of the box tab 4 7.0 would be greatly appricated....
Will this Root my T230NU?
Hi, I am new to the Android market and I was wondering if this "stock" image will root my Samsung Galaxy 4 T230NU.
I am a formerly iDevice owner and I am quite familiar with Jailbreaking.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hello Ed,
I'm kind of new as well however I can tell you that this process will not root it. In my case, because I updated the software I had to use the stock Rom in order to downgrade and then root it. ShinySide explains the.. Rooting procedure in another post
thanks!

So I rooted my Tab 4 7" and then decided to switch to Nexus 7 and sell my Tab 4. Both great devices but the specs and updates draw me to try Nexus after the Tab. Anyway, I went to Sammobile to get the Stock rom and inadvertently ended up with the Nook version. OOOPS. Had to reflash but the second firmware I downloaded from Sammobile (at about 1 hour each, ugh) kept failing. Even after wiping the Cache and resetting I could not flash with Odin. Tried placing the image on the SD and installing in Recovery and still no luck. Then I turned to the ONLY source for self support of Android and found ShinySide with the stuff I needed. Downloaded with the Mega link which took 20+ min instead of an hour and it flashed straight away and my Tab 4 is back to being a Tab 4 instead of a Nook. Just wanted to give props to ShinySide for his efforts on behalf of the community and his patience to put up with noobs even when they do/say silly stuff!
Thank you so much!!

HI so i tried installing twrp recovery for my SM-t230NU And it got stuck in bootloop after trying to load custom recovery. Not a single Tar file md5 file worked until i got this rom and USED odin to install it. Odin just kept crashing on me till I got here and used the md5 file provided. It pushed the files while in download mode and rebooted and even still had all my apps and email going.
Again thank you so much and please reply if you have the same device and need help. I thought i bricked my Christmas present.

I have a rooted StraightTalk SCH-S968C Samsung Galaxy S III (with the stock AOSP ROM) that I just screwed up. I had used EZ-Recovery to flash TWRP 2.2.0 to the phone. Now TWRP says there is no OS! I can only boot into TWRP - nothing else. It won't even let me power-down the phone. Is there some way I can recover from this, or do I now have a very expensive electronic brick (that runs TWRP)? I have adb installed on my laptop and I know it works, so that's one possible route to recovery. Any help would be much appreciated!

I'm pretty sure it's possible to return it completely to stock with the COMBINATION_S968CUDUAMH1_S968CTFNAMH1_1304014_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.md5 file through Odin. I just to happen to have the file right here.. small warning though, it's 1.2 gigs.

That's the file I am offering to host on my Website, since nobody seems to be able to download it from Dropbox. I'm having trouble downloading it from Mega... Since the file is over 1 GB, Mega insisted I needed to download their extension, but it's not compatible with Firefox 22. I tried Chrome, and Mega says that Chrome on my laptop is "a bit outdated"... sheesh! I'll try and update it.
(added later) - I found a Dropbox link for the file and it's downloading now.
If you want to FTP the file to my Website, let me know by PM and I'll give you the username and password.
I tried using fastboot to install CWM Recovery, but fastboot is eternally "waiting for device" even though it's there (adb can see it).
Aug. 7 - Got the file I needed, but didn't use it since Windows7 would not recognize the phone even after I installed the drivers. (I think it was an issue with automatic updates being disabled...) In the meantime... I tried the button-combo for the bootloader (which I swore I tried the day before and it didn't work), and the phone booted into the bootloader! From there, I pressed "Volume down" to cancel & reboot the phone, and it went into the stock system - it was all still there! First thing I did was immediately use EZ-Recovery to flash CWM 5.8.4.5. - Issue resolved!

Okay so to start my name is lars. ive got a sprint galaxy s5. rooted on NE5 and then moved on to CM12.1 for awhile. now im trying to flash back to stock with little to no success. i tried flashing the stock OA6 (latest firmware) and i get <ID:0/006> FAIL! (Auth) and it says [aboot] Fused2 > Binary 1. no success. and i know that error usually means im trying to restore a firmware that's older than the current installed but its newer. i then tried to restore NE5. no luck. i can still get into recovery. but i cant flash touchwiz roms. any advice would be great. this isn't my phone its a coworkers and i feel terrible about the situation.
thanks -Lars
also i can boot cm 12.1 if i reflash it. it will not boot into touchwiz based roms at all. (recovery is still functioning)
This may be a dumb question, but you are going into download mode for Odin, correct? I ask only because you mentioned recovery a few times but not download mode.

It sounds like you may need to repartition the phone as well. I may be wrong though

Yes I'm working with Odin in download mode. and how can I reformat without a proper pit Filw I can't seem to find one anywhere
I'm not sure, I've never had to do it. I always just use the full tar file. I wish I could be of more help.

yeah and that's what i'm using. the full OA6 tar and it rejects it because the phone thinks im trying to downgrade the firmware which makes no sense unless the boot-image is somehow corrupted but i thought it was all hard-coded into the boot-loader it self so im not sure. but thanks for the response non the less..
Maybe you have a bad download. It might be worth downloading it again.

its not i just restore my phone from cm12.1 to stock OA6 via odin with the same download. so its not my computer, usb cable, or download. its something to do with my coworkers phone. it just doesn't make any sense.

I may be wrong, but the filename of the tar in your screenshot isn't anything I've seen. Why don't you try downloading and odin'ing the tar from this link:

yeah that's what i downloaded, that's the file-name that extracts from the executable. i just gave up. flashed cm12.1 back on his phone. the only issue is his GPS is not working even after flushing GPS cache and re-downloading and waiting 24 hours still no luck. thinking about sending it in for warranty replacement and see if they make me pay the deductible.

Have you tried to factory reset, erase all data, caches, and format the system, then boot into download mode reflash your proper firmware!?
That was the 3rd thing i tried no luck I've tried evening i can think of. It's got to be a hard ware issue
I'm having the same exact issue. I know my flashing abilities I've flashed dozens of different models. My problem was this phone was on lollipop 5.0, I wanted to root it then use custom roms. As soon as I flashed, and used a proper bootloader/rom etc. Im stuck at the samsung logo screen. I have recovery capability I can flash roms there, but not through odin at all. 0 success. I've download roms from sammobile, xda, other sources all same issues.
If you are still stuck, can check this thread, may help you out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s5/help/fused-2-binary-1-error-helps-t3127016
try to flash the ne5 tar in odin then see if it will boot then flash the latist firmware from sam mobile sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900P/SPR/ download both tar files from here.
surprised that noone else has mentioned this, ive had very similar errors and then tried different usb cables. I know its a small percentage shot, but ive fixed same/similar issues with my good old trusty blackberry cable from 2006
HEYYYY , soo i think we have a solution here for bricked OD3 devices
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61388477&postcount=99
Someone with a G900P, and on the new OD3 bootloader, can dump the debrick.img as follows with Terminal Emulator after granting root access and send to you:
busybox if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/debrick.img bs=4096 count=50000
Then:
Flash this Debrick file to your 16GB Micro SD card with Win32DiskImager by
*Insert your Micro SD card into your computer (backup any information you may have on it we are going to ERASE, FORMAT it to ex FAT
*Open win32DiskImager
*Navigate to the location where you downloaded the correct Debrick file
*Select your Debrick file by double clicking on it
*In the upper right corner of Win32DiskImager you should make sure that the drive letter assigned to your sd card is selected.
***Which ever drive that is listed will be erased, formatted
*Click write in the bottom right hand side
put the Debrick SD card in the Phone, Pull and Replace the Battery
Plug phone in usb and boot into download mode
yout phone should boot into download mode then flash stock firmware via odin

Try first to install TWRP recovery instead of Samsung recovery using odin with the phone in the downloading mod
Then wipe every thing using Twrp
Then flash that rom using twrp
I installed twrp 3.0.3-0 and i still can't wipe anything, unable to mount data, storage and cache, tried changing the data partition type to vfat but no matter what I try it all ends with unable to mount data, storage and cache

I'm beginning to think this is hardware related, I've already flashed four different firewares including the one you told me to use and the phone boots up rite back to the same error!!! I'm kinda sceptical though because the Odin flashing always goes well, everything loads until Odin says pass.

Flash the firmware with the PIT file and check re-partition.
How did the device arrive at this state?

Hey thanks for the input guys, this phone got wet and when it was dried and turned on again this is the state its started in. I took out the logic board and checked for any damage from the water (corrosion) and its all clean, I even sprayed it with WD (water displacement), allowed it to drain and then heated it with the heat gun which vaporized the WD. I flashed with the pit file and all goes well, but it just reboots back to same errors. Fellas feel free to msg me on WhatsApp +5926792003 anytime. I'm just happy to know there is a place I can ask for help and get it! Here in Guyana the few phone techs I've talk to don't seem to be this in depth with some of the stuff I've learned from here, all these Guyanese tell me to do is change the board but I'd rather be sure that its beyond repair before I invest my hard earned money which is not easy to come by. The cost of the board is around 23000 Guyana dollars, which would be about 105 USD.
I forgot to mention, when I flashed twrp, in the advance wipe option, when I choose repair, I can see an actual size on the system and cache partition, but all other partitions show 0mb.

Bro don't ever flash the pit. Go to www.sammobile.com and download the J700TUVU2APK6 firmware. Extract the zip on your PC and open Odin. Now go to Options (2nd tab) and unclick auto reboot. Click bootloader update, Nanderase all and reset time. Put the tar in the AP slot and flash it. When it completes flashing pull your battery. Boot into recovery holding the right buttons and let the phone erase and update the system. When it finishes it should boot into recovery by itself, if it doesn't pull your battery and boot into recovery again. Then let the phone boot and you're good to go. When you root this time and install TWRP make sure OEM unlock and USB debugging are ticked in developer options this time.

Please don't make statements when you're not sure what it is your advising.
Flashing the firmware hasn't worked as already posted.
The device is beyond simply flashing the firmware. It is fine to flash the PIT file with the state the device is already in.
@JrTech
It seems your partitions are damaged. There is hope if the system partition can be mounted which means the EMMC isn't totally dead.
Boot to TWRP and save the recovery log. Post the recovery.log file here (not the output).

Exactly, it's the wrong firmware.
Did you ensure to check Re-partition when flashing?

Yes I did, and I do think when I add the pit file Odin automatically checks re-partition, I checked to make sure and it is set to re-partition, all with the same result as before.
