When I received my XOOM it had asked for a sim card and all was working fine whether I use my mobile network or wifi, but after a latest update it has stopped reading sim card and mobile network settings are disabled,is it possible that Motorola pushed wifi only XOOM updates and it was not meant for this model?
P.S. I already tried factory reset.

No more 3G for you either. Sorry. :-(
That's bad, especially when you pay extra bucks to get a 3G supporting XOOM, thanks for the reply

What Rom are you running?
On cleanrom4.5 you just need yo flash the att stock 4g and wifi hotspots hack mods in the cleanmods zip from recovery and you're good to go.
Also questions belongs in the q and a section.

Wait so it will not work with the generic icons? That is a shame, because the generic icons allow saving of phone numbers to default to Google not the phone. To me this is more valuable than att hot spot. They make me pay for a 3gb LTE plan without offering LTE in my area, I never exceed 1/2 gb on a given month.

Try the wifi tether app available for download on Google code. Set its setting to generic ICS and it'll still let you tether just not through the wifi hotspot app

Wow I'm so sorry! I re-read your OP and realized you're asking something completely different than what I answered.
Try downloading the my Att app or some other att wifi hotspots app that I can't remember the name of right now. Ill have to get back to you tomorrow about the name exactly.

I flashed CM 10.1 and got some errors about network connectivity, so decided to just go back to my backup of a rooted stock image. Afterwards i still see that i dont have network connectivity, and i am now roaming. I Saw some guides saying to flash back to a stock image. But can i do that with an OTA JB version already? and ive read about just "reprovision my phone", will it work even with the rooted stock image?
Thanks
and my IMEI is still in tact

Read the second post of the cm10.1 thread has three different ways to fix it
One is change CDMA subscription type to ruin/sim

Have you checked your subscription type on what ever ROM you are on. Also the best method is to Odin root66 and disk the repro vision code

I am on the stock OTA JB from verizon at the moment, and ive tried to do the root 66 and the one i downloaded from doesnt have the .tar.md5 file in it: its was from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762204
and im not exactly sure by what you mean subscription type, and can i just do the reprovision code if im just OTA JB with just root?
Under mobile settings there is an option for CDMA subscription type it must be rui/sim, nit sure if it's on stock though.
Also the repro vision code doesn't work on jb that's why you must go back to root66

After you download the one you linked to me you have to extract the .tar. I assume you know how to do this, but just in case right click the zip and extract all

Great to hear! I recommend avoiding cm10.1 until the bugs are worked out.... If you rely on your phone.

Yes, stay away from CM 10.1. I lost my MEID from doing it which means the phone wasn't able to make or receive calls.

You can lose that no matter what you flash. That's why all ROMs say to back it up before flashing.

Hello
I newly bought this note 10,2..
The model number is 8020, version with wifi and 4g LTE (denmark)
Very nice tablet, and it matches my sg3 very goodt
But of course i'm out to find some custom roms.
will I have all the functions espacielly 4g if I install a rom made for the 8013?
and what are the differences?
Thank you
No. 8010 and 8013 are wifi only. If you use one of those roms ,you will loose 4g.

You can try to flash one but keep the 8020 modem and kernel if you know how... At your own risk of course.
