[Q] Sexy voice error msg - General Questions and Answers

hi am trying to restock my galaxy tab GT-P1000, but i cant charge the battery passed 10%... i left the phone charging overnite, switched off, using the official tab charger & cable with no joy... i hoped it was just reporting the wrong percentage so i started the overcome guide to restock...
once i got to the stage where the phone should reboot and give me the sexy voice reporting that it is converting the file system i hear the sexy voice say something like "no battery level conversion cancelled, no battery level conversion cancelled"
what does this mean ?? i cant get a battery level as i cant charge, so how do i get around this catch 22 ?
i have wiped the battery stats in CWM and i was going to use a market recalibration app.. but phone needs to be rooted... and of course i cant get back to rooted with converting... ARGH...
someone, anyone please help
how do i fix this ?
thanks

[Q] Samsung I9000 bricked while charging

Please help me!!! My I9000 was suddenly turned off while charging although I didn't touch it. I did remove and re-install the battery but still couldn't either restart or get into Download mode or CWM.
The battery was 22% left before charging. The temperature of the charger and I9000 was hot. But they're often hot while charging, sometimes it shows 40 oC.
I'm using Innovation 5.2 JVS ROM with Semaphore 1.7.5 Kernel.
Is my phone bricked? Please help me !!!
As i'm developing on my phone its almost constantly on the usb charger too.
I once had a similar issue, where it would not show any sign of life, no download mode, no CWM nothing, no keys lighting up either.
I had already printed out an Amazon RMA and packaged it, just randomly i thought ah wtf lets try it one more time.
So i put it pack together, put the battery in and it worked like nothing happened and still does...
I still have no clue what happened, though i have some suspicions about somekind of overcharging failsafe...
I would suggest leaving the phone without battery during the night and try it after that again.
Thanks a lot Dark3n. I'll try it right after back home.
There's no hope. I think the power ICs has been... died. I'll take the phone to Maintenance Center.
Anyway, thank you Dark3n again for giving me a way.

[Q] Damaged Captivate - Any help would be appreciated.

I've searched the forums and have not seen anything quite like my problem, so if I missed an important thread, I'm sorry.
Over the weekend, I plugged my Captivate (using a stock battery) into the official Samsung charger and overnight my roommate semi-dislodged the charger. When I woke up and grabbed my phone it only registered a few hours of charging yet still had almost full battery. Upon rebooting the phone, I was sent into a bootloop. Not at the ROM, not at the Kernel, not even at the bootloader. It goes so far as to show the white loading ring at the center of the screen which never moves. At one point, a thin pink line appears halfway through the screen as it shuts down and reboots, never making it any farther. If I plug the phone in, it will boot normally though it does not accurately report battery levels or charging.
Other oddities: after 5 minutes of a phone call, the phone hard crashes. Not FC's, but just goes black. Upon a reboot, I get stuck into the same boot loop. If I plug the phone into the wall charger without a battery, it will go into the turned-off charging animation and show a 100% charged battery. Furthermore, my other roommate has a brand new i9000 so I tried that battery (again, stock Samsung) and it continues in the same bootloop. I have tried flashing other ROMS and going back to stock, but that does not seem to help.
Other info: I was running OneCosmic's ICS 3.1 with no overclock and light undervolting at the time. It was perfectly stable for the few days until the charger dislodged. I am also out of warranty and am not eligible for a hardware upgrade so repairing my Captivate would be ideal. I also have a usb jig if that is of any use to this scenario.
Has anyone experienced anything remotely like this? If not, what debugging steps should I attempt?
What I would suggest is using one of the ODIN one clicks and flash back to stock
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda premium
I've flashed back to Rogers 2.2 stock. Doesn't help. It actually made it harder for me to get the phone started though I have yet to make a phone call from it.
Have you had the phone for less than a year? if so call at&t(or rogers) and they'll replace it for you.
then try factory reset
then try using odin or rom manager to flash back to stock
When all else fails, flash to cm7. that will completely wipe everything and start from scratch.
if that STILL dost work.... than you can be sure that its a hardware problem :/ theres nothing you can do except replace and sell for for parts.. sorry
You may want to try clearing the battery stats. Something in there may be telling the phone that the battery is completely dead and it shuts the phone down in the middle of the boot. Just a guess, though.
It sounds to me like the phone might have gotten confused aobut how much battery life it actually has. You might also try getting it loaded up and then letting it drain the battery completely down. Reset the stats and then fully recharge the phone.

I have exactly the same problem, I did the reset of the battery stats and still not working.
Did you solve the problem?
thanks
Martin
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, however, no amount of battery calibration could get it to work. Furthermore, a bad flash has made the situation even worse. Now Im bootlooping even when plugged in and when unplugged my jig is of no help. I have declared my Captivate dead.
Best of luck toominds, if you get it to work, let me know. I'd love to have a spare phone sitting around.

[Q] Charging problem

Hi, I have a problem when charging and the phone is off. Few weeks later everything was ok - by which I mean that after few hours the phone signalised full battery by showing 5 full bars. Now I can leave the phone on charger even 12 hours but the fifth bar still blinks as if it was not charged. When online, everything goes fine: phone saying "charging" for some time, then "charged".
I`ve tried many since december and I believe its somehow related, but dont know how. I even tried formatting everythin except sdcard in clockwork and then installing a clean stock ics rom but no change ...
Im afraid of breaking the battery somehow and its also a bit weird ...

Warning: This app is only for Nexus S, not for any other model.
Nexus S Charger download from market
Many Nexus S have a bug that makes battery charge above 95% impossible, unless you use some nasty tricks (enabling the debug option that keeps the screen on while charging and enabling the Wifi AP mode / Wifi tethering).
This app makes that easier for you:
Thanks, but Im not really troubled by the fact I cant get to 100%. My trouble is that during charging, the phone (turned off) never signals BATTERY FULL ...
EDIT 1: With my second battery the phone acts normally - charging, then stating BATTERY FULL ...
EDIT 2: I found out that when I enter my spare battery into the phone and then give back the original one, its able to tell me "battery full" ... but not without this "swap" ... Im afraid of my battery be charged all the time - and damaged ...
Nobody has the same problem???

[Q] battery overheated charging disconnected

I have galaxy SII SGH-I727 the battery after a full charge last 1 hour idle mode , also when I plug it to charger I get a pop up message saying "battery overheated charging disconnected"
I tried factory reset , I replaced the battery and cleaned the USB slot but none of these solved the issue, I took it to Samsung repair center, they didn't bother looking at it as they just wanted to replace the motherboard which it is as expensive as new phone.
the battery is not really hot when that message pop up.
the phone is not rooted and I rather not to get involved in it
So before I give up on this phone, does anyone know a way to fix it ?

Hey man, sorry to hear that you are also facing the same problem Can you share some specifics?
- Have you ever rooted your phone?
- Does your phone shut down within seconds of opening snapchat, regardless of the current battery level?
- Have you experienced totally unstable performance, like sudden battery level drops of 20-30%?
- Have you tried going back to a lower firmware?
- Have you tried removing the SD card, if any?
Let's work together to understand our problem better and hope for a solution

Hey man,
So,
Couple of things about my problem so that we can maybe point out similarities and maybe a common cause.
- I had my phone rooted the first time the problem appeared (android 4.4.4)
- I updated my phone to Lollipop, and that's when i first started getting hints of this problem
- At first i thought, it was a charging issue. but it started happening more and more often.
- now, it pretty much happens everyday and is making my life miserable.
- I started to notice that my battery roughly dies around 37%. From what i've read online, this battery level can be different from person to person.
- From the moment it dies, it restarts itself and goes into a bootloop.
- The moment i plug it back in, it show a battery level of 0%.
- And then, within a few minutes, the battery level goes back to where it initially was when it first died.
- My battery discharge was really turbulent, the whole graph was a mess. I would see sharp drop till I would reach the dreaded 30% area.
- I noticed that right after I enter snapchat, it takes about 3-5 seconds for the reboot to happen. This happens regardless of the battery level as it has once happened to me at about 80% battery.
- The best thing that ever happened to me was when i first took out my SD card. It was 64 GB samsung sd card so i thought it would really mesh together well. I never thought about it being a possible cause. Boy was i wrong, turns out my battery performance almost returned to normal. Got to about 75% after 9 hours. No snapchat but again around the 11 hour mark. I launched chrome and the BAM, it happened again :'(
- I decided to unroot and return to 4.4.4 thinking that a custom kernel was the problem.
- Still No Luck
I have read many places online that it maybe an issue with the battery. But, I refuse to believe that is the issue. i have also tried another battery. although i think it may have been fake. Haven't tried a replacement OEM battery yet.
I would suggest a few things you can do:
- For starters take a screenshot of your current battery usage charts and then once the problem happens, remove the SD card and charge your phone while powered off and report back with another screenshot so that we can compare and see if removing the SD card has had any positive effect.
- Please clarify if you have ever rooted? sorry I was unable to fully understand from your answer.

Do u mean by installing this ur battery last upto 0%. Without reboots / bootloop....
Can u confirm ur model no and firmware version.
Guys after a lot of search found something to save much more battery life, worked for me, give a try:
1,open dialer and dial *#0228#
2,after dialing *#0228# the battery status menu will popup.
3,hit ( quick start ) at bottom of the screen in red color
4,hit ( yes ) and go to settings/battery and disable fast charging for 1 charge only.
5,power off the phone and charge to 100%.
6,turn on the phone and if it shows 97,98,99 plug in charger again and charge to 100%.
7,once it charge to 100% unplug charger and this will create new battery calibration status automatically.now you can enable fast charge again.
8, Next go to play store and download wakelock power app and install it. Open the app and hit (PARTIAL WAKE LOCK) as in screenshot below.
This app will help the cpu to run much more efficient and smoother and also prevent device from over heating and this app does not require root access.
Download wakelock power app link below.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...u.thedarken.wl
THIS METOHOD WORKS ONLY WITH STOCK OFFICIAL FIRMWARE IF YOU ARE RUNNING AOSP ROMS/CYANOGENMOD ROMS/NOTE7 ROMS/S7EDGE ROMS/ OR OTHER PORTED ROMS DIALING *#0228# MAY NOT WORK. (SOME PORTS COULD WORK LIKE Dr. KetanRom, EnhancedRom, RamRom.)
HIT THANKS IF THIS WORKS FOR YOU

Thanks for the help,I appreciate it but unfortunately it's still restarting and getting stuck in a boot loop and this continues until I plug my phone in. This battery is only 8 months old. And this problem didn't start until the last security update. It's getting worse every day. It started happening at 80%, now when my phone gets to 98% it goes into this boot loop. I have the Verizon version. Maybe I'll try a factory reset

Now you're getting somewhere, from the sounds of it.
It almost sounds like the security system in the phone is seeing something it doesn't like on startup and doing a reboot to try and purge it.
I really hate Samsung's built in security.
