Hi all first post so please go easy on me...
Im trying to root my GS2 so i can unlock the sim and i have been looking how to flash and root (have done other stuff in the past)
The problem i am having is finding the correct file to use.
Im in the UK on an Orange locked phone and need to find a CF root? or what ever that matches my BaseBand and Kernel
BaseBand i9100PBVLP6
Kernel [email protected]#3
Can anyone link me or tell me what Rom i can use that will keep the phone running like it was but without all the Orange crap or just Root.
Cheers all

Hi all
Firstly I apologise if this is in the wrong forum as im new to the site, I have searched the forums and followed all instructions supplied on how to root the Galaxy S 2.2 using the oneclick method. All goes well but after I apply the fix in recovery mode I keep getting an error E:signature verification failed Installation aborted.
Im just wondering if im doing anything wrong, as I said I have searched through the forums but I cannot find a solution to my problem.
I have just recently got the phone and its on Vodafone UK, all was fine at start until i started to install apps and now it just keeps freezing and lagging big time. below is the details of firmware etc.
Thanks in advance.
Samsung Galaxy S I9000
Vodafone UK
Firmware 2.2
Baseband Version I9000BUJP5
Kernal Version 2.6.32.9 root SE-S611 #1
Build Number FROYO.BUJP7
I only rooted mine the other day. everyone was telling me to do it through my pc but i just couldnt do it. so i entered z4root into google on my phone and went to the android version and found a download there and put it straight onto my phone. took 2 mins. hope this helps.
danny
I have downloaded that z4root but was told the oneclick was easier, does this z4root have all the files necessary to root the phone or do i need to download anything extra to root the phone.

Have you had any luck with this yet.? Ive been trying to find out more but every single time soneone asks they never get a answer coz its always the next question that does lol. Its all JVO this or JVP that or JVQ whatever however it aint helping us when we have numbers on the end.just if someone could explain the difference..im guessing its versions of the firmware kind of..Im sure JVO was Froyo but does our GB JV end with Q or P? so why not say JVQ5 or JVP5 instead be easier for us noobs to understand quicker without bothering others or be told off for it already been asked even though i cant find anything coherent lol
Hi SGS2 ATT phone, Wanting to root it with cf so I can flash roms and stuff, but I can't find anything on my problem.
Under phone info all my kernel version says is "2.6.35.7" That's it, I don't know where the rest of the string is or how to find it, can anyone help me?
I am also having this issue. Any answers out there?
Hi all
First of all i need to say that i m all new to android and samsung phones, so i may ask questions that can seem stupid, be patient with me please, i m new but i learn fast
I just bought a brand new canadian i337m from koodo mobile, and it comes with the android version 4.4.2, baseband i337mvlufni2, build number kot49h.i337mvlufni2. I want to root my phone and open an all new world to me, but from what i read from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2293800, there are some problems with WIFI and Bluetooth after rooting, i guess something went wrong during the rooting process, or the files used weren't the correct ones. That's why i want to make sure that i will use the right files to flash with Odin, i don't want to brick my brand new phone. My problem is that i can't find the right files of CF-Auto-Root to flash with, since in his website for autoroot, chainfire has files for i337m based on build number KOT49H.I337MVLUFNC1, but my phone has newer build number kot49h.i337mvlufni2. Did Chanfire forget to update his website ? or the build number doesnt make any difference ? am i missing something ? Please can someone help me or guide me so i can root the phone safely ?
Thanks in advance
following...
Did you find an answer?
Im having the same issue..... tried the root method by chainfire for my phone model in another thread but Odin gives me "Fail"
and im thinking its because i have an updated build.
Thanks,
Hi everyone,
i have been searching for 2 weeks how to root this phone, but no luck yet. I am saying no luck for a proper way to do it , because you can do it with the avant method, or by using the CF method which uses the SM-G386T firmware, and for reading lots of forums, i know it works, but the problem is if i ever want to update later, i would not be able to do so. I already have the firmware for my phone, G386WVLU1ANJ1, running android 4.4.2 KITKAT, and i have extracted the recovery.img from the firmware file. I am searching how to unlock the bootloader so i can apply whatever rooting method i want. Since i am new to this, i need some information. If i ever want to use the CF-Auto-Root method using the SM-G368T model, can i go back to stock phone whenever needed by flashing recovery image from the SM-G386W ?. If not, is there any other method i can use, preferably one that doesn't trip my KNOX flag to 0x01. Until now i have tried 2 methods, Towelroot and Z4root, which didn't work at all. The main reason i want to root is i want to get rid of the bloatware installed by default on my phone and gain control of my phone without any restrictions, and customizing it.
Please need help.
Thank you very much
P.S: can anyone recommend some reading about rooting android phones?
wow , 107 views, not even a single answer !!!!!
Sorry dudes, but you call taht help ?
107 views and not a single answer to one of my multiple questions !!!
So i guess i am not at the right place for learning or get any kind of help.
Update 2015/06/28: i finally did manage to root it properly with iRoot.
Thanks for nothing !!!
Again, i am sorry, but it p***es me off !!

I also own one of these phones and would like to root the phone to get rid of bloat ware and make the phone run smoother. I would appreciate if you could give a quick run down on how you managed your root. Greatly appreciated.

Canadian carrier use Kingo one click root
Hi
i always used Kingo one click root it has super su that make it easy for bloat removal in a click of a button for all my Samsungs Galaxy core lte
galaxy s4
Ok so I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-I353 running Android 4.4.2
Kernel version: 3.4.0
~~~~~~~~~
After searching around for past few days an reading around n such I've not really been able to find just a straight answer for this so I figured ok might as well go ahead and make a thread.
As far as I've got I believe I AM able to root the device which is cool BUT can I also get a custom recovery or boot-loader n such too so I can use different ROM's n such or am I **** out of luck? I don't wanna brick my phone obviously so if anyone could just give me a no or a yes and if a yes please point me to a link that will explain how to root / use custom boot loader n such.
Thanks in advanced for anyone who takes the time to reply.
Currently, there are no known method to unlock the bootloader on a Verizon S3 with firmware 4.3 and above. Attempting it will brick your phone.
You can root it but as stated in the previous post unlocking the bootloader is impossible on 4.4.2 and is not even an option and DO NOT attempt to try to unlock it. There is one method available which is a jtag service but finding one to do it is what's almost impossible
