I found the ROM files on ftp.xda-developers.com in /VOX/rom.
However all 3 files are corrupt
I'm in particular interested in these 2 files, the dopod file I found on the Dopod site:
RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.2_4.1.13.37_02.83.90_Ship.exe
RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.2_4.1.13.37_02.83.90_Test.exe
Can someone please upload them again? Thx!
EDIT1: we have a good chance on free SIM and CID unlocking if we can find the older ROM upgrade files which have names like "RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.04.xxxxx". This means they have SPL bootloader 1.04 which allows us to unlock. I know these ROMs exist since someone talked about it here. If someone has or finds these please upload them!
EDIT2: the WWE_1.15 files can probably be repaired because just one or two 4KB blocks are repeated. I spotted that by comparing the corrupt and good version of the Dopod site. Someone would need to write a little proggy to find the offsets of these blocks.
I've fixed the corrupt files. You can now download all 3 currently available ROMs here on XDA's FTP site
RUU_Vox_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.19.707.3_4.1.13.37_02.83.90_Ship.exe
RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.2_4.1.13.37_02.83.90_Test.exe
RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.2R4_4.1.13.37_02.83.90_Ship.exe
The test and ship version are nearly identical (IPL, SPL and Radio are binary identical and OS is binary slightly different)
I'm still looking for a v1.04 ROM. If someone has it, please let me know.
How to update VOX ? I got INVALID VENDER ID with ...Ship .exe and INVALID MODEL ID with ...Test .exe
What model exactly is ur phone? Is it an original HTC S710, Dopod C500, or some branded provider model? And what firmware exactly is on it right now (look up ROM version in Settings -> Device Information)?
Original HTC S710, not locked on any provider.
ROM 1.15.402.4
Radio v. 4.1.13.37_02.83.90
It's simple once you know it
In order to upgrade your ROM with the RUU (ROM Upgrade Utility) both the model ID (aka Device ID) and vendor ID (aka Carrier ID == CID) of your current ROM must be the same as the corresponding IDs in the ROM you want to flash. If any of these IDs doesn't match you get the corresponding error message INVALID VENDOR ID (CID doesn't match) or INVALID MODEL ID (Device ID doesn't match) and RUU refuses to update the ROM. The only way to update your device is to CID unlock it. My target is to develop a free solution for that (USPL or SSPL, see the Vox bootloader topic I've started).
The "test" version has this version info:
Code:
Device: VOX010000
CID: HTC__001
Version: 1.15.405.2
Language: ENG
The "ship" version has this version info:
Code:
Device: VOX010100
CID: HTC__001
Version: 1.15.405.2
Language: UK
The "Dopod C500" version has this version info:
Code:
Device: VOX010100
CID: DOPOD001
Version: 1.19.707.3
Language: USA
I think your Device ID = VOX010100 and your Vendor ID (CID) = HTC__000
The RUU runs a tool called RUUGetInfo.exe to get this data. I haven't tried to run it on my Vox yet.
Also uploaded the Ship version (not R4). Maybe this helps for the guy with the invalif vendor ID thing.
You shouldn't happen to have access to a nordic rom?

Hi All,
If I have a 750v that I already have unlocked to work with my o2 sim card - is it possible to completely remove the vodafone customised software and instead use the generic software from palm?
i.e. Palm have published an update for the treo - would I simply be able to use the generic upgrade tool to change the device to generic from the vodafone customisation?
Thanks!
You can actually.. ..it seems you're new to all this. I would suggest you to read the WiKi their you will find all the info about HardSPL en flashing ROM's using a PC or SD-Card.
Succes with your journey Their is plenty support here on XDA so it should be no problem what so ever!
Hi,
Yes still new to this all!
I had a read through most of the stuff (that's how I managed to get the phone to be unlocked!). But I'm still stumped on a couple of things:
1) Where would I get the generic update from - I can't download from palm as my serial number won't work for generic...
2) Do I have to do the update via mini sd? No cable option?
So all I basically have to do is:
1 - Hard SPL (done)
2 - get file - put on sd card and update that way?
I'm really batteling to get my head around this device - it was so easy with my k-jam!
Thanks again!
1. You can get some ROM's here in the TOM upgrade section. You won't be able to download from the official sites as most of them use a serial check to see if you're a genuine customer.
There have been only a few releases. The 6.1 works best for me.
2. You can also flash from a PC. When flashing from SD keep in mind that the file needs to be: CHEEIMG.nbh
Ok that is fine... So where would I find these rom's where is this 'TOM upgrade section'?
I'm feeling quite dumb asking these questions - I'm not usually this much of a n00b!
Here is a list of topics that contain ROM's
List of all known official WM6 releases
WM6 Normal Cooked
WM6 AKU7.0
WM6.1 WWE Lite > my personal favorite
I recommend this rom :

Hi everyone, I just got my first smartphone, an AT&T Tilt (HTC 8925) a couple of days ago. I'm happy with it except that I wish it to display Chinese when browsing webpages. I don't need the interface to be Chinese, nor do I need to input Chinese. I just wish when I visit a Chinese website, I'm not seeing blocks.
Don't know if this makes a difference, but either traditional or simplified Chinese would work (I read both).
Searching the whole forum didn't give me much. Probably people had some discussions before, just I didn't find them yet.
I'm totally new on smartphones. Any help is very much appreciated.
info on the phone:
ROM version: 3.57.502.2 WWE (since shipped I didn't flash the ROM)
ROM date: 07/17/08
Radio version: 1.65.21.18
Protocol version: 25.88.40.05H
I just flashed the SPL to Kaiser-HardSPL-3.56 following instructions. BTW, which version should I use, 3.56 or 3.29/28?
I did not flash the ROM, b/c I'd like to find out more on Chinese language support.
Install this cab and it will perfectly display Chinese. It is suitable for almost any WM5,6,6.1 rom :http://www.51spsoft.com/DownInfoEn/info26059.html

Thank you for the suggestion. I just installed it on my official ATT ROM (WM 6.1). It showed installation successfull. It also said it may not display properly b/c it's designed for a previous version of Windows Mobile.
Anyway, then I visited mitbbs.com and www.sina.com.cn as a test (using Internet Explorer). Both did not show Chinese. I also tried changing encoding to Unicode UTF-8 and it didn't work either. under system settings, I looked at regional settings and didn't find anything Chinese.
Is there any configuration that needs to be done? Do you happen to know what ROM floating in this forum for WM6.1 can indeed incorporate this O2 Chinese support?
Thanks again

For regional setting, check the size of your wince.nls make sure it's > 1mb in size (typical English only is only 300 - 400k in size). But if you already planning to change yr rom, I highly recommand your try my rom. It's pre-configure for Tradition Chinese (HK, mostly), but will work on simplified chinese as well.

I tried installing CE-Star 2.8 Chinese support on the shipped ROM and it worked.

Instructions to migrate ATT WM6.1 to Jack 2.6 confirmation
Dear All:
I just got the same phone as" CTRC above" but to ensure that I dont make any mistake on updating ROM using Jack's V2.6 from ATT Tilt WM6.1:
ROM version: 3.57.502.2 WWE (since shipped I didn't flash the ROM)
ROM date: 07/17/08
Radio version: 1.65.21.18
Protocol version: 25.88.40.05H
I read all of the above . However, to ensure that I dont run into wall,
Can someone post the step by step instructions including any potential "landmine" on how to migrate from the
ATT ROM above to Jack 2.6 ROM including the instructions if I need to install
those pre-requisites (Soft and Hard SPL ?)and proper Radio ?
Many Thx

Wiki is your good friend here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=KaiserIntroductionToROM_Flashing
Hi Jack:
I had already unlock the ATT tilt using unlock code ...Do I still need to run step one below?
1. CID-unlock your device by following the instructions at pof's HTC Kaiser Hard-SPL v1 - CID Unlock & Flash any ROM to your device (4 free)-thread
BTW, I did get the "white screen" on this phone ... and follow the instructions to :
- 1a. download the 5 attached files
1b. pull out the battery, REMOVE SIM and SD CARDS !! and reinsert battery (this step *is* important)
1c. connect your PC to phone with a USB cable
2. copy JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe to your device and run it (make sure the USB cable is still connected). If you still get a white screen then reset your device and now try JumpSPL1.93-KAIS.exe ...
The step (2) above , copy the JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe to the device ...Pls advise which folder and how to run it after taking the SIM OUT ?
Thx
White Screen Issue
Hi Jack:
JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe to your device and run it (make sure the USB cable is still connected). If you still get a white screen then reset your device and now try JumpSPL1.93-KAIS.exe ...
Are these JumpSPL1.56 or JumpSPL1.93 run from PC or the terminal device itself ? How do I run these two ".exe" files in the device ?
Why am I getting White Screen and others devices dont get white screen ?
Thx

Anywhere. I would copy it to the top level (\). Even if you took your sim out, you can close the phone page (which complaints about sim) by tapping the top right corner or the hardware red button (hang up). Then use "File Explorer", locate the exe files that you copied and click on it.
Hi Jack,
I am new to the Tilt. How do I get to "File Explorer" ? I dont see it on the menu when I open either the "setting" or "programs" ?
BTW, when I run the JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe, do I also need to run the Kaiser Hard-SPL v1 again ? what's the right sequence ?
Thx
RESET
Hi Jack:
Is the rest pwer+camera+ "navigation" at the same time to get Tri-colour ?
if NOT, which three at the same time can "reset" ?
Thx
Dear forum members,
In the following A, B, C and D sections is described the flashing process
of the NoDo unbranded ROM: RUU_Spark_Vodafone_SPA_1.20.401.00_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U_NoDo
A. Pre-Requisites
If your Tropy 7 is flashed with the ROM of the following release:
1. RUU_Spark_Vodafone_SPA_1.10.164.01_Radio_5.51.09.29_22.32.50.10U
then you can flash the following NoDo unbranded ROM and when you like you can comeback to your previous ROM
In case your Tropy 7 is flashed with a different of the above 1 ROM but your Firmware version at your phone settings>about>more information
is of the form xxxx.yy.zzzzz.164 i.e. with characteristic value 164
then you can also flash the following NoDo unbranded ROM, but you can comeback only to one of the above 1 ROM
B. Downloading
You must download the following 2 ROMs:
1. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Spark_Vodafone_SPA_1.20.401.00_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U_NoDo_by_ansar
2. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Spark_Vodafone_SPA_1.20.401.00_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U_NoDo_Signed_by_ansar
Extract the downloaded zip ROM files with an unzip / 7zip utility in separate folders of your choice
C. Flashing Process
In order to successfully flash the provided ROMs you must follow these steps:
1. Flash the ROM of the above (B.1.) extracted zip ROM file
2. After flashing Tropy 7 will automatically enter again in bootloader mode
3. In the screen of your computer the ROMUpdateUtility will report an ERROR
4. Ignore it and exit from ROMUpdateUtility
5. Now flash the ROM of the above (B.2.) extracted zip ROM file
6. After flashing your Tropy 7 will boot normally
7. Exit from ROMUpdateUtility and proceed with your brand new ROM
If you do not want them you can delete all operator apps, in order to have more free RAM
Beware, in WP7 deleting an application means it is deleted from ROM
D. ROM Flashing Instructions
In order to flash a ROM follow these steps:
1. Press and hold power-on/off button to power-off the phone
2. Press and hold volume-down button and then press power-on/off button to enter bootloader mode
3. When your phone enters the tricolor screen bootloader mode, release volume-down button
4. Connect your phone to your windows 7/vista/xp pc/laptop with a usb cable
5. Verify that your phone will be identified and relevant drivers will be installed by windows os of your pc/laptop
6. After completion of (D.5.) above, check the usb message connection on your phone screen
7. To flash the ROM go to your pc/laptop folder where the downloaded zip ROM file is extracted
8. Double click on the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and strictly follow the instructions on your pc/laptop screen
Till next version enjoy!!!
Regards, ansar

Update
It works perfect Ansar! A lot of thanks. My terminal is manufacture by Vodafone, but "free" (my operator is Yoigo). And it was very annoid all the branding by Vodafone. Now it desapeared... Thanks again.
Works perfectly, now it's 7.0.7389.0 without Vodafone customization (Edit: MS Zune updated it to 7.0.7390.0)
BUT like the previously posted Vodafone_SPA_1.10 version, display is still 16bit without dithering. The original ROM (Vodafone_SPA_1.09.164.06) was 32bit or maybe it had dithering everywhere except on IE.
My updated Trophy (Vodafone SPA) info:
OS: 7.0.7390.0
Firmware: 2250.09.12000.401
Hardware: 0003
Radio SW: 5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U
Radio HW: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader: 1.10.2250.1 (112663)
SOC: 2.2.5.0
Original version was:
OS: 7.0.7004.0
Firmware: 2250.09.10906.164
Hardware: 0003
Radio SW: 5.50.09.15_22.23.50.09U
Radio HW: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader: 1.9.2250.6
Any possibility to get the original version (1.09.164.06) to see if the problem with the display goes away?

First of all, big thanks for all these ROMs, I really appreciate your work.
Second, yes, the display is 24bit, however the images & menus are displayed in 16bit without dithering on those ROMs, except in IE which applies a dithering filter on websites.
However, ROM 1.09 and maybe previous ones, shows everything in 24bit (or maybe 16bit with dithering) everywhere except in IE, just the opposite of the newer versions.
I guess this was done on purpose to increase the overall speed of the OS (scrolling on 3rd party apps is much faster on 16bit-menus ROMs), but I'm not sure that I like giving up image quality in exchange for more speed.
I'm sorry for all the inconvenience I'm causing here, but could you post or send me a link to the Voda_SPA_1.08 version to compare?

Hi,

Regards, ansar
I tried to search for an answer on this, but could not find a way to limit my search to the hardware and software -- and because I'm new, I can't ask the question in the RIGHT thread in the RIGHT forum!
I am trying SD installs of Android on a T-Mobile USA HTC HD2. I have tried AmeriCan Android, which was beautiful, but it locked up after the third or fourth start. (I re-installed twice with the same results.)
Now I am trying NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.2a by tytung, and it has been great ... except that it goes into SOD in no pattern that I can discern. Yes, I'm sure this has been covered, but as noted above, I don't know how to limit my searches to find WHERE this has been covered!
Here is my hardware/software:
HTC HD2 with 1024MB flash and 576MB RAM.
WinMo 6.5, version 5.2.21892
ROM version 2.13.531.1 (90963) WWE
Radio version 2.10.50.26
SPL version 2.10
SD Card: Sandisk class 2, 16 GB (stock card that came with phone)
No HSPL, MagLDR, cLK, or CWR installed -- just the Android folder on the SD card.
Any help will be most appreciated!
Lots of looks but no replies. Am I the only one ?
Maybe it is the low signal-to-noise ratio. The traffic on this site is incredible!
Bump - still hoping for some help!
In case anyone else is having this problem, I finally found a solution. I followed the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20389084. I don't understand why that worked, but I am enjoying my Android phone!
