Hi guys...
there's a way to improve Wifi reception for our Gtab? I have a Lg P500 and it's wifi reception is much powerful than gtab 7+
In the same place lg takes the signal and gtab none
i had the same problem. in a forum i read about channels of my router.. if you put your router on auto channel, it might choose a channel that doesn't work as they should in yout tab
solution?
put manual channel on the wifi radio.. from 1 to 7. i choose 7 and my issue with wifi just go away.
cheers

My wifi is very spotty at best. It always seems to say it connects just fine but it won't let me actually use it. I just went and stood right above my router and had full wifi strength and couldn't browse the internet. Are there any solutions to wifi issues or do I probably just have a bad wifi chip?
There could be a ton of different reasons why you can't connect. There might be a compatibility issue (some devices just don't get along), there might be an issue with security (you aren't using WPA2/AES on your router), there might be a channel issue that can be fixed by trying another channel on the router, the list goes on and on.
What kind of troubleshooting have you done so far? What router do you have?
Running a netgear WNR3500L with WPA2 encryption. All I've done so far is a simple restart of the router.
EDIT: downloaded and used wifi analyzer to see which channels were open and they looked to all be about the same. I switched it to 6 for tests without any improvement. My router auto detects the best channel to be on. Any other advice?
Hi ppl, i bought one for my mother this week and everything is fine, except the wifi...
Tested everything before hacking it to install googleapps, and the wifi was weak and buggy.
Installed the updates and the wifi was still very unstable and slow.
My router is 1 meter from the device and even so, sometimes it does not connect, and sometimes it even sees my neighboor wifi, but it disconnects a lot and gets horrible download speeds
So any thing i can make or install to get the wifi to really work ?
Wifi and net is not priority on this device, since my mom uses her 3g on a notebook, but would be a plus to download ebook readers and games over wifi
Still not flashing froyo cos its not mine and dont wanna risk it
[]s and tks !
hi, I solved my problem in wifi enabling DHCP on my wifi router. Try... may be it resolve.
hi, sorry for delay, i forgot to recheck here, since the tablet belongs to my mom.
i have dhcp on my router too, but still the tablet does not find anything
but tks anyway

Wonderful tool for checking local WiFi. Managed to boost my signal by selecting a different channel from all the other local ones.

I have also did the same things as the people that reviewed the app.
my favorite WiFi Analyzer is WiFiFoFum for Android. For PC I use InSSIDer (Inside Her, lol)
I've used it back in Windows Mobile days. The cool feature I like is the WiFi Radar, which is cool for finding wifi networks in relation to your position.
It has the same thing like showing various WiFi networks and their dedicated broadcast channels.
Channels isn't something people regularly consider when setting up WiFi networks but it is a huge issue. Having 2 wifi networks with overlapping frequencies will result in serious lag, timeouts, and connectivity issues.
To get technical there are 11 channels (plus some more for 5Ghz bands) but typically you'd have 11. Only Channels 1, 6, and 11 won't overlap each other.
Selecting 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, or 10 will be overlapping a channel somewhere (if you are in a rural area with lots of networks). In my router, I did a wifi analyzer around my house and everyone is using 1, 6, or 11... but the key is finding the less crowded channels with the least amount of signal.
Don't select a channel that has another signal with full bars or you will degrade both of them. When I first bought a house I moved in and had HORRIBLE wifi. I looked and my neighbors are both using Channel 6... and so was I. So I moved to 11 because it was less crowded and everything is great now.
This is standard WiFi 101 but most people just use the defaulted settings which usually is set to 6.
[EDIT]
We are talking about your WiFi Routers... not your Phones. The process above simply states that you should download a WiFi analyzer for testing purposes SO THAT you can program your router properly.
The stock wifi settings connects and disconnects, And never connects.
Thanks for that info +1.
It was a problem with phone not connecting to router. After I did the trick I found out it worked.
Instant wifi connection.

Could it be that your tablet use 2Ghz wile your laptop use 5Ghz? @ 2Ghz you can get very unstable wireless even at full connection if there are other wireless networks on the same channel. You can install a wireless scanner app to see how populated the different channels are.

Hi,
I see you've already asked about this in the appropriate section for your device,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/hua...huawei-mediapad-7-youth-s7-701u-slow-t2971413
Good! ?
But XDA Assist is here to help members navigate the site, not for support. And you navigated it already.
Thank you for understanding, thread closed.
Anyone having problems with WiFi? My phone seems to easily disconnect from WiFi with the excuse of "Avoided poor internet connection". And it seems to have become worse after the v15e update. My phone is the H959 model from Singapore.

It happens on any network. I was on holiday in the US, and it kept dropping the connection. I thought it was just because hotel WiFi are just ****ty in general, but it happened at home and at work too.
The WiFi at home is an ASUS RT-AC68U, and I'm connected to the 5 GHz channel, and channel congestion is not a problem. 2.4 GHz is congested a lot, but the disconnect happens on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Most of the time, I would pick up the phone, and try to access a website and it would take forever. After a while it would say "Internet connection unavailable at *wifi name*". Then after a reconnect it usually works, and loads the page instantly.
At work, I'm wearing an Android Wear watch and installed the network change notifier, so every 10 minutes or so, my watch would tell me that I have disconnected from the WiFi and after 5 minutes it will connect back again... Signal strength is excellent, channel congestion is horrible, but it shouldn't disconnect that many times.

My house WiFi is an ASUS RT-AC68U, and I'm connected to the 5 GHz channel, and the channel is pretty much clear. 2.4 GHz is congested a lot, but it happens on mostly any network.

You seem to have a good rooter. With all my >snapdragon 800 phones and tablets wifi works perfect .
Connection between phone and router is 433mbps. Before you hard reset your phone try to change channel . And try to keep your connected devices at minimum 2 or 3. You can also try pseudo static ip instead of dhcp

All my other devices, be it computers, tablets, older phones, do not have this problem. The problem I face is really similar to this thread below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/help/wifi-woes-t3197144
I suspect it is due to a setting that is found in KitKat to "Avoid poor connections" but that is not found here. When doing a speedtest.net I can get 200+ mbps, so speed is not a problem. My phone just doesn't like to stay connected... Probably will try a hard reset, just need to backup my data.
