Hi, can someone create a cab file to make a loading animation when sending
SMS like the iphone or anything, cause more likely it seems like the text window dialog box which you type in, flickers when SMS were send out. Another thing
is to enable the side volume rocker to snap photos with HD2 camera.
Thx
Bump
Hope there's some reply.
Good idea, id like it ass well
Yeah there is no Sent notification which is really annoying so a BIG +1 from me!
This is missing in HD2, could someone work it out here, thanks in advance....

Dude that threat is more to text animation smileys, I want a SMS send animation something like iphone. Cause in HD2 after sending SMS the text box
which you typed only flickers to indicate SMS were send. Perhaps someone
can create an mini loader above the text counter "0/160"

I'm still hoping & waiting for someone to create it.

Message sent notification is only available if you disable HTC messaging and go back to the standard WM messaging instead. You can then activate sent notifications using the Advanced Config 3.3 app
HTC messaging bypasses the Windows system and is tied to all the other apps like contacts. Do a google of this and you will find the answer instantly.
I use WM messaging instead and find that it is MUCH faster, has ZERO issues with stuff like proper capilaization and works with ALL keyboards. The HTC messaging is still completely buggy....
This has been mentioned in many other posts before...
+1 I would like it.

Yeah, hope someone can make a cab, on the top curtain like a loader or something
when you send the sms just beside the Start.
+1 here .. I want to see animation while sending the text message too. Hope someone here can do it.
Anyone here working on a way to do the voice to text while using swype as the keyboard? Granted I don't use voice to text much, but I think I would a lot more if it had a mic like the newer custom keyboards.
Is there any way we can either customize the keyboard, or find a way to workaround the keyboard?
Lastly before I am flamed I did search, but it just didn't seem like anyone jumped on the mic w/ swype idea, just mentioned that it is an issue...
I use handcent, and quick compose. That is, when you hold the search key a popup comes on so you can compose a new message. There is a mic icon that will start the speech to text. And if you wanted to, you can still click on the text and bring up the swype keyboard (what I do).

I love handcent, but it gets the VVM text messages for me. Plus it just seemed like the stock app ran smoother when I get too many texts...

Hi,
When you press the SEARCH key, and typing in the text field ...
Does the keyboard give you text prediction?
And also when you search in the Market app ...
If not, is possible to enable text prediction on all input fields?
Thanks.
Negative on the text prediction for search. I get text prediction in the form of app suggestions on the market, but I don't know if that's quite what you're looking for.
As far as enabling it, I have no idea. I don't recall if any of my past Android devices did text prediction on search. :/

Take a look at SwiftKey. Text prediction is one of the reasons that my wife and I moved to it. We like this keyboard much better than stock, for us it was well worth the money.
This is common for several fields in several different apps. I work for Swype, so I've seen this myself, but since our keyboard doesn't typically work this way it's only been a curiosity for me. I believe it is considered a "feature" since you might want to explicitly type something else other than what prediction guesses. If you want to give Swype a try, the beta is currently open at: http://beta.swype.com/
Hi there,
Thanks for your info. I still find it odd, to not have this common behavior on all input fields.
Heck, the old HTC_IME hack on HTC Desire works pretty well with all the options to have prediction in all kind of input fields (thanks to the modder, jonasl). I still have this on my signature below.
But recently, I like the new Nexus S keyboard. It look slick, easy to type. But yeah, I missed some of the HTC_IME improvements, like SMILEY button!
As for SWYPE, granted, it is a very nice keyboard. But, I don't use ENGLISH that much I am using south-east asian language which is not supported
So, I am afraid that it does not offer much advantage.

The built in Gingerbread keyboard does have a smiley button. It's a "smart" keyboard, it knows what you're doing and shows you the appropriate keys/features/functions.
Go write a txt message, and you'll see a smiley key on the bottom right.
They should've taken out the period and extended the space bar. Its very frustrating when I'm trying to type fast. IPhone still had the best touch keyboard available

Thanks, I did not know that.
Obviously because I am using Nexus S keyboard on my HTC Desire! Probably it does not work fully as designed (I did not see that smiley button).
But, does that smiley button also appear when you type in EMAIL or TEXT AREA like replying to forum like this using the web browser?
Or when typing comments on Facebook app! That would be very nice.

I only see it in the Messaging app.
Hi, I can't find a way to search contacts while typing their name or number in the stock dialer.
I mean, if I type the first two digits of my gf number in my old i5500, it showed her name. Is it possible on this device to do the same, without resorting to external apps (like I'm doing right now with aContacts)?
Thanks.
My Nexus S, for your info, is a i9023 SCLCD, rooted, using NSCollab.
There are few dialer apps on the market that do this. Dialer one, Go Contacts and dialer 2 are 3 that I have used. Also do a search for T9 Dialer. Enjoy, cheers.

Yeah, I know. Did you actually read my post?
I'm using aContacts, I was just wondering if it was possibile to do this in the stock dialer, or there was a modded dialer apk, who knows
Sorry I did it but I guess I read it too quickly or you edited it while I was typing. Hope you find an answer.

No problem Thanks for the help anyway!
You can hit the search key when on the contacts tab, but that's as close as you'll get without using a 3rd party app.
I see. That's funny, because a low-end phone like the i5500 had this really useful feature integrated in the OS. Go figure.
Yeah, I don't get it either.
I've become quite fond of GO Contacts, though.
I just tried mydialer, it is smokin fast. I like go as well. Bummer that GB doesn't have this as stock.
Go Contacts is better than aContacts, thanks It's even better than default contacts
For anyone else that is doing the Swype beta v3 is it saving words to the dictionary? Mine isn't.

in your swype settings, do you have word prediction ticked?
you always need to tick that on installing! lol
so just go to keyboard setting, or tap the swype key when your writing then pres options, andmake sure its ticked
. that should cure it.
word suggestion& auto-correction are on.

Swyped from my HTC Sensation Pyramid using my thumb and eyes
I tried both. i even uninstalled, cleared all swype data & tried that, no dice. charging phone now to do a hard reset & see if that works
Just did a hard reset & still getting this stupid bug.
For me to add a new word that doesn't exists, I first have to manually type it and select it on the word suggestion bard (because auto correct will try to suggest a "correct" word). After I select the word, the option to "add <word> to dictionary" will appear for me on the word suggestion bar and pressing it will add it to the dictionary (Somewhat like stock gingerbread keyboard).
yeah I do that & it says that it added the word, yet when I reswipe it it's not added. I can do this 10 times in a row & it still won't stick
So I'm apparently an idiot & my Swype does work. I was under the impression that when it said 'Add "xnifex" to the dictionary' it was notifying me that that's what it was doing. I wasn't aware that you had to tap that notification for it to work. On the HD2 if you manually type in a word it's automatically added to the dictionary so I thought it was the same behavior. Yay for the swype team helping me out.

Did you actually clicked on "add <word> to dictionary"? Unlike on Froyo, where Swype saves a word after hitting space, now the users have to confirm the action by clicking on the right above the keyboard.
I was so used to the old swype, it took me 2 days to realize that...

Swyped from my HTC Sensation Pyramid using my thumb and eyes
I'd just like to add that I had this problem, I was tapping to add to dictionary and there were literally no words in the dictionary, it was basically a tap keyboard. I uninstalled with Titanium Backup, then installed the Full version instead of the English/Other language one. This one has a dictionary and will save new words to it.
Thanks guys, I learned something new today;-)
Swyped from HTC Pyramid, using XDA Premium App.
I just want to say that I had the exact same issue as the OP. I thought that it was automatically adding the words to the dictionary, but some bug prevented them from appearing or something. I just wasn't clicking the "Add "word" to dictionary".
To be fair, it's not very clear on the UI that it's something that you can or should press. It doesn't have a question mark at the end, which would make you realise that it's ASKING you something, not telling you something.
That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
Swype is the best. My only problem is the word bar above the keyboard. I find it distracting, and hard to get used to. I've looked everywhere trying to find a way to turn it off. Besides that, swype is 1,000x better than what comes with the sensation.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
LISTEN EVERYONE..to solve the problem download a app called ''SMS to swype'' and it picks up every word you type from all the keyboards you used and saves them to the dictionary SOLVED
