Hi!
I just can't seem to get a real answer.
Iwant a higher capacity battery *without*making my phone thicker/larger. What battery can I get or do all the higher capacity batteries make it thicker?
Thanks!
Thicker!
My guess is that if HTC could have fitted a higher capacity battery, without making the device any bigger, they would have done so.
Battery life issues have been discussed since day 1 (May last year, when the Diamond was first released). It seems HTC went with sexy sleekness over long-life battery. In my opinion, they made the right choice!
The HTC 1340mah battery makes it 3mm thicker, but its still looks good.
here are some pics...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436648&highlight=1340
I would not trust these batteries you see on ebay from HK. I got one for my old magican and it does not last as long and drains fast when its below ~40%.
Thanks for clearing things up!
cant believe they charge best part of £55 for that, should be more like £20!!
anyone know where i can buy just the back cover mine kinda the baby got his hands on it and it broke in half i need the back battery cover only if anyone can help i looked everywere and cant seem to find just that i have the 1340mah battery just need the cover
Well i just order mine and i love it. Its just 3mm thicker you will not notice the zie increase and the rubbery feel is great. Also the juice will last longer.
I received mine for my mda IV last monday and after a week of use, it was worth every penny. It took a day or 2 to get use to the 3mm addition but i now get 2-3 days use out of my phone between charges were before i barley got 1. Highly advise everyone with battery issues to get one!!!
Look here. Just €26,77 (Do'nt know if they deliver outside The Netherlands)

Unfortunately .... they don't
just ordered from pda accesories £27 inc
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B001D842OS/ref=dp_olp_2
came in 2 days
I found some pictures of the BP E270.
The official HTC extended battery is well worth the money.
IMHO, it looks MUCH better thickness-wise (I find the Diamond too thin and it hurts my palm during extended use).
It DEFINITELY feels better with the included rubberized matte battery cover.
Mind you, I'm coming from a Touch Pro (a car drove over it -- sniff) and I loved it years beyond this Diamond I replaced it with.

For
SAMSUNG
Epic 4G (SPRINT)
I am very happy with the battery life. Getting about 7hrs plus on light surfing, with just data 3g on constant, and bluetooth use only on when needed. Sorry I dont have one of those phone screen for proof but rest assured it the best slim fit battery out there that I am aware. After purchasing the mAh 1800 generic, the mAh 1950 QCell and finally Samsung 2000 mAh which is the best quality being that its not generic or fake just pure brand, and I noticed the difference in performance. Using right now Clean GB 1.1.2 on BML and I mainly use phone for talk with opening 1 or 2 pages of web and some on & off bluettoth, no 4g, no wifi, vibrate or silence, screen off in 2min, no live wallpapers = solid 7hrs for me. Results may vary depending on your apps but I stop using memory apps just a fresh install of CleanGB.
Fit on Epic 4g Sprint sph-d700 phone is tight but good. Plus I use Seidio ACTIVE Case for Use with Samsung Epic 4G - Black so it snugs real nice the back cover with battery.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1Y2D6V06D7ZPGDM5F4SF
Anyway www.htcexpress.com delivered quick USPS and even found a coupon to get 10% off so I purchased 2 orders for $62.00 for 4 batteries and 2 charger, one for my girl. I'm good to go when traveling I have my Samsung 2000 mAh in phone and one spare in jean pocket enough to cover me for when I charge at home.
P.S. i used this code OFF10 in the shopping cart under Vouchers and guess what its cheaper by 10% until supplies last or offer ends.
As always Thank You XDA for all of your wonderful forums on ROMs and Themes, hope you can enjoy this Epic battery Review...

Hey OP, I've never heard of these cells before. Would you be interested in sending me one for testing over in my Battery Reviews Thread. I'd be interested to see how they hold up. They are very sneaky making it look so OEM styled

You must be unlucky, my Hero's charger like that from years ago still works even though you have to manually put the prongs into the outlet lol.
My Epic one is still perfect
Honestly, I don't see why anyone would get this. Unless you need a charger you could get two official 1800mah batteries for just a few dollars more (assuming that is legit ).

Somehow I doubt that.. I got some "1800mah" 3rd party batteries about a year ago and while they worked great at first, they slowly deteriorated and now they won't even last an hour, while my stock 1500mah still lasts at least 15h with light use and is about 1.5 years old.
Stock Battery average at best...
Yeah on stock I would get like 4-5hrs at best now I can last solid 7hrs so to answer your questions the more mAh the more power you can store in it. The trick I have found is not to let go to 0 more like 10 or 20 % before a full charge.
As for the extra charger its neat to take it on the go but I use my cradle charger for home recharging.
I think the 1800mAh Samsung battery is overrated just like the expensive Seido Extended Battery. The 1500mAh and this one both are made in china except this one might be third party because it does have www.chichitec.com printed in the back cover but in the end its just a battery with 200mAh more than Samsung. I might just have to buy this OEM Samsung 1800mAh battery that everyone praises just to see the difference.
Anyway this is just for those who want to have a little bit extra without the bulge of a extended battery cover. I am happy with it and just wanted to share and try it out has suggested in my other thread by a fellow member.

If you've only used that battery for a few cycles, I'd love to see what it actually weighs in at over in my Phone Battery Review Thread
What programs to test with?
I will do it but don't no what apps should I use like screen shot apps or battery measuring apps. Can you suggest any free or paid apps on goggle play I should focus on so that I can post some screen for you m8's? Thanks for your input.

The whole idea of the 1800mAh OEM battery is that it fits with the original back cover not making it to bulky, the battery is actually capable of lasting all day with medium-usage. At least compared to my year old 1500mAh one

Battery Monitor Widget is a good one. You need the widget on your home screen for it to monitor.
The built in battery stats should give more than enough info. Post screen on time, overall stats, and the graph.

Updated screenshots as requested. How do I show off screenshots blown up inside the post instead of small like attachments?
Anyway can go a good 9hr+ even better than previous stated. One note when charging on USB I get 100%, after unplug I only see 94% (1880 mAh) don't know if this is because I charge in phone or I should use their wall charger to get the full 100% from point of turning on phone.
Now I hear theres a 2300mAh but reviews sound skeptic. Will have to do some more research, but I think I have bridged the gap with extended and slim using this battery.

So I have lol, I can't keep track of all these cheapo battery threads that are always some kind of derivative of 2xxxmAh
My offer stands none the less
So I was on amazon looking for extended batteries. I've heard that the anker and hyperion batteries are reliable, and that some batteries can be worse than others. I wanted to get two extended batteries (3500mAh ones) and this seemed good:
http://www.amazon.com/Aftermarket-P..._1_6?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1337731035&sr=1-6
does anyone know if this is any good? The fact that it comes with a belt clip is sort of appealing
Would've been nice if it came with an external charger, but I can probably do with the one I already have.
Anyways, anyone have any tips or suggestions concerning good/decent extended batteries for the epic 4g?

Here's a few screenie's from my phone using the Hyperion 3500 mah i have 2 of them and they're about the same.
On CM7 i could get a day's worth of battery with about 1-2 Hours of actual screen on time. Or6 Hours of screen on time and 7 hours on the battery just straight streaming netflix. I have gotten 2 Days before on Cm7 with 1.5 Hours of screen on time for display.
On ICS i can get about 15-18 Hours depending on usage

so none of them are actually 3500 mAh right? and it looks like they can actually be worse than the stock batteries?? I guess it wouldn't be too bad since I don't really mind changing batteries (i'll be getting 2 "3500" mAh batteries)

It would be in your best interest to get the hyperion. I've had great results with both of the ones i have. I barely even complained about a broke backing and they sent me a brand new complete unit free of charge. Cant go wrong with Hyperion.

Or 2x 1800 mAh ankers.
I am actually going to get the Ankers they will be here tomorow so i will go ahead and test them out and reply back here and other battery stat thread.
wonder if this would fit in ours granted its the Epic Touch it should but for us the highest ive seen is 3500 so this could be interesting to see

They aren't 3500mAh no, but while they don't reach their claimed capacity, they offer a hefty value as far as capacity/dollar is concerned. True OEM 1500 batteries can be closer the same price ($7.89 here, still more expensive though) and true OEM 1800mAh batteries are more then double the 1500's in cost (best price I found here was $17.66).
If the swivel case isn't a huge loss for you, maybe get just one battery and see for yourself for much cheaper, $6.53 here

Sounds about on par with how I'd expect the Hyperion to perform, and it's hard to say since it was my oldest Generic but it *seems* as though the larger print "3500" batteries don't perform as well as the small print labeled ones (which if you ever looked at the Hyperion, it has the small print label )
(Thanks for the thread rep'n btw )

just wondering, how exactly do you conduct these tests? and the epic touch's battery is a few millimeters longer than the epic 4g's ='( and it's 4 pronged or w/e while the epic 4g is 3. if aligned correctly, the battery is able to power the epic 4g though

I'm not worried about length or width as the OEM Epic Touch battery (aka the 1800mAh) fits easily into our phones, though I always heard that the Epic 4G's batteries were slightly longer so I was more worried about the Hyperion Epic Touch version being a slight bit too deep (to fit the same capacity) to work...though I think there is a little extra space in the current Generic battery cover that may allow for what little more depth there *may* be (as you can shake the phone and hear the battery jostle around slightly)

Yeah it's weird that sometimes they do that, change some of the phone so that they aren't compatible. Probably the most absent minded business strategy I've ever heard
Just to let you guys know there is actually a set of the 1800 mAh's for our phone and the Epic Touch i got the one for our phone and the 1st charge i got 15-16 HRs and about 3 Hrs of screen on time
I personally use the Yoobao 2800 mAh extended battery from here
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Extended-Battery-Replacement-Cover/dp/B004G7JWT8/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1337876031&sr=1-1 its a little more pricey but im running CM9 AOKP build 35.2 and get about 18 hours out of it, with at least 4-5 hours of usage on the web or talking on the phone. I watched several videos on Youtube with recommendations and thats what made me get one. I dont think I have ever had it die all the way on me during the day, as long as I charge it every day or two I have no problems. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Al_po8oanz0 this guy has multiple videos reviewing these batteries and after trying it out versus a generic 3500 mAh, it is much preferred.

That's okay? but the 3500 mAh Hyperion i can get 4-5 Hours of screen on as well as 18-24 Hours on ICS. Hell on CM7 i got close to 2.5 Days with about 1.5 Hours of screen on time.
Not to mention the 1800 Ankers are slim so it fits without a big back and gets still decent battery life i just got 16 Hours and 3 Hours of screen on time on the 1st charge just opened the battery up and put it in the phone @100% so it hasn't even settled in yet.

I'm thinking about buying the ZeroLemon Samsung Galaxy S4 3000mAh Battery. Any opinions? I heard zerolemon was a pretty good company but I just wanted to confirm.
I bought mine about a month a go and I can definitely feel the difference in the duration of screen-on time. I went from like 4.5 hours to 5 hours roughly. More than worth the price.

thanks. I'll probably buy them then. 8.99 is a great price haha!
Bought my pair a few months ago. I don't remember the last time I actually plugged my phone into a charger. I just swap the batteries from the phone to the wall charger. I usually get about 15 hours of decent use, about 3.5 hours of screen time, out of each. It's a great buy.

Man i've tried emailing bastexwireless but they said they don't have any in stock.. still waiting for something i'll let you know if i find anything..
Does this battery add any bulk, size wise I mean, to the phone? I know the weight will probably be heaver but I had an extended battery for my old Photon 4G and had to go without a case on it because of the size of the battery. I don't want to have to do that but this battery looks promising from what I see.
maybe its matter, maybe not... but note that this battery do not have NFC chip.
i also thought about to buy that battery, but for me, the lack of this NFC chip is a deal breaker.
shop ?
Hey,
Do you have a valid link to a shop that actually sell it ?

U will perhaps find it slightly harder to put the battery cover on, but it will fit the same way as stock. Cases wouldn't be an issue.

They took nfc away so it can have a slightly higher battery capacity.
The battery very slightly bulges at the back. If you have a very very specific tight fitting case you will notice the slight inconsistancy. I had one that fit the Galaxy S4 specifically however once the battery was put in, it created a few mm gap.
I initially found the battery to add about 30 min extra however, it began to lose it capacity after a few months then became the same if not worse than the stock.
No NFC, bulge, same battery capacity wasn't worthwhile. I bought from bastexwireless and they were a pain to deal with so if you buy expect to make it a permanent purchase. I tired to contact zerolemon as well and they just gave me the runaround.

I would say the lifespan of holding its charge is pretty similar to the original samsung battery. Under heavy daily use, it would take abt 3 mths I reckon, for it to start losing its capacity bit by bit. It's just the way they are, so I would still get the zerolemon's since they are pretty cheap compared to samsung's. Over here where I live, the original samsung battery is only sold with the extra battery kit, and it costs abt 30usd. I alr got that so it would still be worthwhile for me to ship the zerolemon's over as I don't stay in the US.
Regarding bastex's customer service, I emailed them once regarding their poorly made wall charger. They responded pretty quickly and offered to send me a new one, as well as 2 new batteries since mine had alr bloated up due to months of heavy use. I guess the bloating issue pretty common. So maybe not all their staff provide quality support. [emoji41]
I just got mine this week. This is day 3 of using it. It seems to do a little better, but I'm still in the break-in phase of the battery. I like the extra weight, as it gives the phone a more substantial feel. It fits fine in my otterbox (defender series, I think). Haven't tested it in my seidio obex case yet. I used their battery with my Verizon Galaxy Nexus, and loved it. I expect good things with it.
I just ordered a single battery ($9.XX, with shipping). I didn't need the second battery, or that external battery charger.
Zerolemon's 7.5Ah batteries for Galaxy S4
Zerolemon's 7.5Ah batteries for Galaxy S4, I ordered 3 from e-bay with 2 chargers. The batteries are heavier than the phone and with case is more than twice as thick(deep) as original phone. Width and length are slightly larger too but not appreciably so. Big plus is am never tethered to wall and each battery will last 20+ hours of constant Internet use. Simply swap batteries after running it until <= 2%; one is typically always on charger. Phone with case/battery carries nicely in a LBT Holster.
The zerolemon wall charger is really low quality. It works (charges ur batt from zero to full in abt 4-5 hrs) for the first few weeks, and then takes longer and longer to charge.
Another alternative to never having to charge your phone on the wall is to get the official samsung extra battery kit. That charger is top notch. I got that and use it with my zerolemon's. So I don't need to deal with a huge bulky extended battery either.
It's a small bit bigger than the original battery. It makes putting on your battery cover a little bit more difficult, but not bad. I have a defender case and it makes it just a little tighter.

So far, my zero lemon 3000 mah battery isn't performing too great. I think I'm going to try and return it for another one to see if the ladder is better. I get about 4 hours of screen on time.
Does anyone have this battery or have had a battery from this company? I am looking for a little bit more power then stock but don't want to add bulk to my phone any info would be great thanks!
I found it on Amazon here is the link.

You can't add capacity without adding size. So 3200mah is really 2800mah like all other stock size batteries.
I'd recommend Anker or RAVPower

This is not exactly true. Capacity has been increasing every year since lithium was introduced. The real problem is that most manufacturers didn't spend as much on battery development like Samsung did. So to get more capacity in the same sized battery would be quite a feat although not impossible.

I think it's safe to say that any 3rd party sellers of S4 batteries are not sinking R&D into new battery chemistry and design. But you will see lots of false specs
i'v had a 6200mAh TQTHL on my S4(which my son inherited , and now i have two 3200mAh of the same brand on my S5 and the wife's phone..
i think this is a good battery. i bought my S5 used, so i can't say how much it fares against the original samsung battery, but i can tell you that i'v had over 4 hours screen-on-time and this is with 3G/wifi always on, maybe 30 minutes of calls, mostly web-browsing (opera browser), and some simple game a few times during the day.
what i like about this brand is that the batteries didn't fail after months of use, like some other cheap brands. the 6200mAh on his S4 is over a year old, and it still performs admirably.
if the price is right for you then i suggest you go ahead and buy one, i'm sure you won't regret it(unless you're unlucky and get a lemon, which wasn't my case). if its not better than the original then its definitely not any worse, since its half the price

You can get that battery and others on Ebay, or Amazon.
