Just wondering how do i lower my bootsound its just really too loud...
Find the audio file on your phone (/data/local for me) open in a free audio editor tool (on a computer would be better) and lover the volume
Probably there is an other way, but I only used this one.

can anybody tell me which program can I use to convert .avi files to .mp4 files in best resolution supported by hd2 ? As far as I know Mp4ForHd converts only files to touch hd resolution so as I asked before, which program can be used to convert to mp4 and in which resolution? And my second question - in upper right corner there should be a litle icon which allows me to disable running aplications - I don't have it, how can I turn it on ?
Well, the Touch HD and HD2 have the same screen resolutions (they are both WVGA) despite the size differences. I have used MP4forHD and find that the audio/vidio sync is out on the HD2. I tend to use Any Video Converter which is freeware and allows for much greater customisation to suit your needs, and have yet to find any sync issues. Be sure to keep the video bitrate <= 2000 as values above this start to effect the framerate/ playback smoothness. Also, it is best to keep the resolution at WVGA otherwise you will increase the chance of exceeding the 2GB file size limit. Anything file size above this the HTC Album program wont play (i'm assuming this is what you want to use?).
i use Super i think its the best freeware

Version 2.9b:
- A new codec added "XVID avi". With this, you can now convert to avi files (not only mp4 files)
- Now video quality 'very high' is two times Normal Quality (before 1.5 times). It makes max quality is now 1600 kbps (before 999 kbps)
- Support for MOD video files (JVC cams)
- Added a new video size 768x576 (JVC cams)
- Added two new profiles: HD2 (for HTC HD2) and JVC (for JVC cams)
Ive installed version 2.9c and I cant see HD2 profile...

Hi all, my first post here, though I've been using these forums for quite a while. I always wondered why Android lacks behind its competitors in the Audio segment. I searched for hours trying to find a good App that would get me some surround sound on my new LG Optimus One and I was surprised to find none. I heard about the Cyanogen MOD with the DSP manager, but then, this phone is just 3 days old and I don't want to void my warranty rooting it or something.
I know these surround effects I've mentioned are possible on android, since the Galaxy 3 with a 667Mhz processor, 256Mb Ram with its TouchWiz UI is able to provide its users with Virtual 5.1 Surround effects in addition to some basic Reverb effects on its Music Player. More over, I noticed that even a basic Nokia 7210 Supernova with just JAVA in it is able to support stereo widening! Why hasn't android got any stereo widening features or apps (atleast) ?
However, I did find some resources for you developers, which may help you in developing some surround effects like that Dolby's or SRS's

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed as of now, hoping that someone will be able to develop an app or something with these Surround sound enhancements. I guess I'm not alone, there are many, many people waiting for these features on Android like me! Let me know if its possible to implement these surround sound feautres on Android..
Have a gr8 day ^_^
stereo widening
fwiw ....
I was missing srs enhancement on my stock desire z using westone um3x's earbuds ..
I think the sound quality was better on my old windows mobile 6.5 phone using srs wow enhancement.. but the wm6.5 srs enhancer itself was similiar to an equaliser with a lot of user options and NOT the simple on/off toggle "take it or leave it" srs enhancement found in android phones to date.. (see link below)
Nevertheless i thought i'd try android srs so I rooted my phone and flashed virtuous unity 2.37 to test the srs enhancement not available on a stock desire z ..... and whilst it improves the sound the improvement is not significant ....
I have since gone back to stock gingerbread (NO android srs enhancement) and purchased music playerpro from the market; its audio effects use the new audio enhancements built into gingerbread including stereo widening.... (the "virtualiser") ... and imo are superior to the dsp power pack... and now i feel i'm almost back to where i was on the music front using wm6.5 and srs wow enhancement....

PS - I'd gladly pay srslabs for something like the old srs wow application working on android .... also i'm not affiliated to playerpro in any way ....
Hi guys.
I flashed the custom rote X-Note 15 and suprisingly I still can't disable the camera shutter sound.
I tried many ways :
- app Galaxy Note 2 hidden features
- app silence stream something
- app camera mute
I also tried to remove the ogg files from /system/media/audio/ui/ , camera_click.ogg and camera_click_short.ogg, renamed them to .bak.
Camera still makes sound ...
I replace the orignal ogg files by copies of camera_empty.ogg ... in vain. Still the ****in sound.
I don't get where the sound comes from. I though maybe it was in RAM , so I restarted the phone, still the sound was there.
Now I found the apk SamsungCamera2Guy.apk, which contains the sound. But coudl it be possible that the application takes the sound file from the apk each time ?
If so, I would like to edit the apk and remove the file directly. I tried with a few tools but it failed so far.
Any hint how to remove once and for all the sound ?
Hello,
With some devices, whatsapp audio record looks very awful, almost unlistenable. I know that the app provide some compression over the file to save bandwith, but the strange thing is that with other devices(Sony, Apple, etc...) the sound quality is just great. With this, i have 2 theories about it:
1- There must be a file with audio profiles that the app could use, just like media_profiles.xml that tells output, bitrate, etc, or...
2- Whatsapp is using a "generic" audio record method, not getting advantage of other audio options the device could offer.
The only problem with the second theory is that if you record a video throught the own app/3rd party, the audio is very clear and good.I've tried to look over system/, data/, etc/ and libs/ to see if there's any file that could lead to solution but nothing came.
Please, someone consider some further investigation about this issue, with i believe many people faces this.
Thank you.
Please, Allow us to increase headphone and speaker volume in the rom for all devices by using Alsamixer app (in google play) and editing the file in system/etc/sound by es text editor (included in Es file explorer) to include maximum values as read by Alsamixer app for headphone and speaker volume in the file then make it permanent with the rom (not changed by rom updates) as this post:

This would only be done on a per-device basis. The maximum volume allowed by alsamixer hacking will result in speaker damage on many devices.
Just install uber kernel or elementalx. You can increase the volume as well as a myriad of other things with either... I'm sure there are other kernels that allow it but I have no experience with them
