I've a photon plus ec156 data card which is cdma. behind it there is an empty sim slot. my question is can I use another sim on that slot by unlocking the device. plz help me

this can be unlocked to be used with other RUIM (SIM), you may require the software for this purpose

OK so hears my question I currently acquired a t moble htc sensation 4g from a friend who cant afford it anymore. I have a free phone with 250 mins a month and it uses at&t network found that out by the phone number look up.
My nephew also has a t mobile Sim it wouldn't dial out but didn't say no Sim.
I already know that the phone has to be unlocked to use other Sim cards and I did method 1 of unlocking my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1232107 but only the date was displayed instead of my Sim code now before I proceed with method 2 of unlocking I wanted to know if it would then recognize my Sim card and work or any other way to make it work before I use this method Please help.

I got the 'STRING: NOT FOUND' error on method one, so I moved to ADB Guide method and successfully unlocked it.

Thanks for the reply but I am worried it wont reconize my sim card whether the phone is locked or not locked
any other ideas please help

If you unlock the phone, it will still work with the original SIM card.
One possible reason that the other T-Mobile SIM didn't work is that it might not have been a newer 4G-capable SIM card, or the contacts became dirty ( they can easily be cleaned with a pencil eraser).

i believe i will have to root and then whatever has to be dobe to unlock the simcard carrier provider

Hello
The SIM is unlocked by default in this device. But the US GSM frequencies are blocked. You can use it outside the US with any SIM card but not inside the US. No root needed.

No, that would not be possible
1. Dual SIM devices have 2 IMEI numbers which each of them is assigned to each SIM slot on the device
2. You would need a different SIM tray since US model doesn't have a dual SIM tray it only has a 1 SIM 1 SD card tray
3. Even if you manage to get a tray with Dual SIM capability the device hardware most likely does not has the dual SIM pins inside, and even if it does is most likely useless since it does not have a second IMEI assigned to it.

Is your device completely paid in full
-- As long as your device is unlocked (60 days after initial purchase from Verizon) then it will work with any SIM
-- Refer to porting out your mobile number to another carrier
-- Power off device, remove SIM card, wait a few minutes, reinsert SIM card and try again
The Verizon modem only works on the Verizon ROM, unfortunately. Unless you want to flash a custom ROM, you have to stick with OxygenOS to keep your cellular data if you have an IN2019.

I have never rooted or flashed anything on it. I have tried different Sim cards but same results. No Sim card
