Not polite to ask when something will be done or released. A couple very talented individuals are working on it. When they are done it will be released. Have patience.

Well, we have to consider many things.
First and most importantly, Google just acquired Motorola's mobile phones division for $12.5 billion. That means that they are gonna be a major hardware manufacturer and the phones that they make will probably be able to handle Android better than the rest of the competition.
Also, don't forget that 2011 is the year of the rabbit. The rabbit is a swift little creature and it doesn't like to get caught.
If we compare cyanogemod to the rabbit, and then compare that to google's purchase of Moto's mobile division, then we can clearly see that there's no connection between any of these things.
So long story short, yes, we still don't know. We're all just sitting tight.

Honestly, does it really even matter right now when CM7 will be released? Seemingly every day our wonderful developers are releasing new ROM's. Pick one, love it, and live with it. Or pick a few and love them!

Very understandable. In the time I've been with this forum, I've seen a lot of that going on and it's ridiculous. Internet browsers should pop up a notice saying "Don't forget the search feature!" when somebody opens a new tab or window lol
I'd hate to see you go, also. It would be a loss for us!

Trolls. Gotta love em. On a serious note, I seen a post about porting MookeOS, LewaOS, etc. and it seems that they're ported on a CM7 frame. I know it's not ICS, but Jim mentioned that he was getting closer to having a CM7 build, Sooo, maybe when he's done with that we can port these over and add a little more flavor. At least until we get some ICS for real.

I am not referring to the beta testing that was like the testing that they asked people to sign up for, for the 2.3.6 release but, internal testing.... If you catch my drift.

The will-it-wont-it saga over the Ice Cream Sandwich updates for LG devices has been rolling on for months, but now, thankfully, we've had word from our LG insider on what's REALLY happening!
The news is good. Ice Cream Sandwich updates are nearing completion and will be released imminently for the Optimus 2X, Optimus 3D and Optimus Black! Exact dates are still not forthcoming, but we'll keep you posted with more news as we get it.
I'm really happy for LG users that this is going to happen, the support so far has been pretty shocking and LG really could do with turning it around.

Well here's hoping the LG Insider is right. If he is that means fully supported ICS for the T-Mo G2X once the devs get their hands on it. Not that I am complaining at all about HFP but it would be nice to run a fully supported ICS on the G2X.

Seems I heard this a few times before. I'll believe it when I see... Wait. I got rid of my G2x.
But just for arguments sake that this is true. They are in a testing phase. Which means the earliest this would be release to T-Mobile is what, Jan-Feb. and then they have to test it. So what, the 2 year anniversary of the device? I got my G2x on pre-order. It's been dead. Sorry, but I can't see this being offered as an official update.
No place in the article does it mention an "official update" coming. Seems the articles writer is jumping the gun in this one.

It won't ever be official for TMobile..suppose to be just for Korean o2x correct? But that's when devs can try and port it for those of us remaining hopeless souls

We've got smart devs around here, it'll be done for sure. The code isn't going to be in Korean. The only issue is it'll be for the P990 variant...

Didnt know if anyone happened to see this today or not...HTC CEO announced no more locked bootloaders on upcoming HTC phones. not sure if this will impact the 2.20 update or if AT&T will allow it but, nice none the less

wow sorry for the mixup everyone. just re-read the article and looked at the date. did not realize it was over a year old. the link popped up on my FB and just figured it was new news. must have read too fast in hopes of being able to root my 2.20 HOX soon

You can get in ICS if you want. Search. The OTA release is a moot point at this point as its more detrimental than anything else. And read the stickys. We're recommending people stay on the first leak.
And please be careful as to how you respond to folks here as we're helping you for free, and don't have to. There are some people here who have more clout around here and you need to respect that.

We made a bet about the OTA. Not the leak. And he lost. Pretty straight forward. What anyone thinks about the actual OTA vs leak is the moot point in terms of the bet. A it has nothing to do with sticky's.
And the notion that I can't call someone out for being wrong and losing a bet, because it may disturb sensitive bloated egos is laughable. Everyone appreciates the talented devs here, but that does not make them kings, or give them carte blanche to say or do whatever they want. Besides, Apex_Strider is no stranger to being disrespectful and highly degrading towards people he disagrees with.
Read the thread again: I make a simple statement about ICS not going to be out in Q3. That prompts insults and comments about my post count, and that I must be in a coma because of my stupid comments. Where's your outrage towards Apex_Strider over that?
But calling in the bet, and insulting one of the kings around here...big mistake. Hypocrisy.

Except the Atrix 2 has ICS. The AT&T MB865 does not, but I didn't see any statement that it had to be a specific model of Atrix 2.

Yeah the "Atrix 2" has ICS, you were not specific which model or market had to have it by Q3, and I hate to say it but the HK/TW & ME865 model Atrix2s had ICS in Q3, and the MEARET&SEARET MB865 Models of the Atrix 2 have ICS "officially", also in Q3. The US ATT version of the Atrix 2 has had ICS un-officially since July, and the soak (which will be the Official OTA, any day now), so I say that no one won this bet and it is a draw since both parties involved here won and lost at the same time.
Just saying.
