[Q] Hack Windows Phone 7.5 - General Questions and Answers

First of all, sorry for my English, I'm Brazilian and looking for some help...
I have a HTC Sorround with Windows Phone 7.5, and my problem is: my phone is from AT&T and some resources that I really needs/want is loked/unavaliable, as wifi tethering and the language Portuguese - Brazil.
Wath I want to know is:
1- The best or only way to activate these and other funcions is using a hacked/standard version of Windows Phone 7.5?
2- I heard that it is a very dangerous process, if something goes wrong there is a salvation? Or my phone becomes trash?
3- After installing a standard/hacked Windows Phone 7.5 firmware I still having access to updates? Or I can't/shouldn't update?
4- If a install a hacked version and sometime I decide to get back to original factory firmware, is that possible?
5- What post do you suggest me to read to lean more about how-to do the process?
Since now, thank you very much for your attention.

In the wp7 section there are a few ways to do it and they are pretty easy. Basically you send the files to the phone to execute. You basically want a dev unlock

[Q] How to downgrade to WM5 - AT&T 5700

Hey guys my first post here..
i want to downgrade my AT&T 5700 to WM5 now it is WM6.1
i searched the forums, but couldn't find any answer to AT&T, all are for HTC and others...
I need a solution ASAP
Regards
Umair
Sorry but this is not possible
Sorry but this is not possible period. After upgrading a phone it can not be downgraded!
Do a search for "downgrade phone" (with quotes) here on xda-developers.com via it's seach engine;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php
If you insist on doing it anyway... I advice you to obtain an empty image and put it on the phone first (that's what I would do). Then reboot twice (normally windows recognizes the 'former' OS like an old friend and operates faster in my opinion) before putting an old WM5 OS on the phone If you do, I would not be surprised if you'll completely brick your phone. You are on your own here, do not expect help from me or others...
Anyway success with it,
tried tried and not a single spark of success... not a way for downgrading...
anyways thanks

[Q] Where can I find original Omnia firmwares?

As the title says, I need an original omnia 7 pre-8107 ROM.
There is a thread with links, but they are dead.
There is also a page on sammy firmware, but I don't know which one should I use:
http://bit.ly/IbRp3A
My phone has been bought in Croatia (Europe) on t-mobile operator and has been sim unlocked after that. I need to keep SIM unlock too.
Are these instrucion applicable for what I need to do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973420
My intent is to do a manual rollback to be able to windowbreak my Omnia and than update via Zune to the latest OS version (8107 currently). I am doing this because Croatia has been given a marketplace access and I want to do a hard reset.

In my opinion you should install a custom rom, like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485576

Thanks for the advice, but i've given up on custom ROMs, since i noticed all of them have some bugs and problems. And CAB updating does not work reliably. And they more often than not come with those modified tile and icon skins.
Got an answer on another thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570569&page=2
Downloaded firmware, no magldr needed, i just need to follow these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973420
Also, it would seem i don't even have to flash anything, since zune restore will be enough for my purposes.

[Q] Can produce LG C900 of free ROM??

HI,every one.I come from china!I am a WP7 fans! But my English is really too too bad! This article it is inevitable that errors and jokes please forgive me!This article mostly from Google Translate
In my country ,DFT ad wpxap websites,is most WP7 forum! The DFT There are many talented, willing to do over some people came to(Of course,Their English than I do!)They are also the technical personnel!Produce many models of free ROM!But are the most of HTC and Samsung!I know make a free ROM, require a lot of time and effort, of course, there are technical! But I and most of the LG C900 users want to have free ROM!!Possible? About what kind?Asked the DFT, but the administrator deleted, they do not develop. Therefore, the XDA is our last hope, please the !
---- A friend from China
There is unfortunately no unlocked bootloader for the C900, so custom ROMs simply aren't possible. Of course when heathcliff74 releases the next version of WP7 Root Tools, it won't matter as you'll have full access to the file system even on stock ROMs.
Filesystem access and app policy modification via WP7 Root Tools v0.9 already works on LG Windows Phones, after applying interop-unlock using the built-in registry editor.

In accordance with the upstairs said, we have LG there is still hope not? That there is no way for us to run similar to the call management or the OPERA such software! Is the need for third-party driver, if you can, how to do it?
im a windows rom developer and curenly have the device in hand came here only found this thread if the bootloder was unlocked I could see replaceing the xip drivers in my rom and flashing to this device but without the bootloader being unlocked I see no way to do anything.
even as a windows phone rom developr im at a dead end.
however I would love to update this device so if anyone has any insite please let me know.

[SOLVED] Omnia 7 Update fail

Well... I have a strange issue... but on the other hand I feel I´m not alone. However it´s kind of messy trying to get a full picture from XDA how to get around my problem.
I have a 3-branded Omnia 7 with the following info:
OS 7.10.7720.68
Firmware 2424.11.9.1
Hardware 3.15.0.4
Radio Software 24.24.11.9.1
Radio Hardware 0.0.0.800
Bootloader 5.9.0.6
Chip SOC 0.36.2.0
My issue... well Zune keeps telling me Update 7740.16 is available (iI guess the Tango will come after that update, right?). I let Zune update but it comes back as a failure "error 80180048". Ok, so I tried to update using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415
I got all files downloaded (lang files for each update... ) and it started ok... but after installation it came back with the same error as via Zune.
I tried to make a hard reset to eliminate the possibility that the unlock (rootacces) had anything to do with it... same problem.
As I understand I should go back to the Samsung Omnia 7 version as it came in the box, right? After that letting Zune handle the complete update from scratch? Well... how do I do that? I have found som threads but I´m not really sure witch one to use...
Can someone please give me some directions to get this to work? What files do I need and how do I restore the phone to it´s original state? (in the box-state).
I bought the phone secondhand since I use 3 (Three) in Sweden. I have had NO problem with it at all... But I get soooo anoyed with Zune telling me to update... so I thought "What the heck!?"...
Well... I guess I sorted it myself... followed the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11713948&postcount=1
I have to admit I was really uncomfortable doing this... But after getting the correct files downloaded it was really easy. The phone downgraded to the first version of Windows Phone 7... I screamed out loud when I saw the old green round Windowslogo... but after a couple og updates via Zune Mango was installed... the the updates rolled on and now I´m on the latest release. I feel quite happy since I don´t have to do this when WP 7.8 arrives this fall.
