Looking at getting a case for my new 8.9, i have found one i like but it is magnetic. Will this have any negertive effects on the tab?

when i had my tytn 2 device i found some kind of gelaskin, customisable, but it was not only a scratches-protector, it was thick, so it protected the device also from little falls...
from what i can see now, looking at the majority of the podt, gelaskin are just a small vinyl film added to the cover..
do someone find something like a thick gelaskin for the DHD?
PS i've got a silicone case, but it is not so easy to use, cause often it stucks in the pocket and the phone feels diffuculto to extract due to the silicone material..
PPS some cool alternatives?

What do you think is the best protection for my phone? Now I've a HTC Desire S with a fitbag. I'm not sure if a plastic cover is a good protection and I fear that the cover will make the phone very huge.

Honestly, I don't think so, the charger connector lays way to deep into the case, I would go to a store to try one first.
I've tried 3 cases so far, and the only one that works with the Smartdock for me was the Ringkey Fusion clear case. I had to cut the port cover off of it since it wouldn't fit with it on there, but other than that it's a great fit.
Every other case I've tried made the plastic too deep around the USB port.
So much for that idea.
