[Q] How to install CWM recovery if all releases of it requires a prior version of CWM - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It's very confusing but all releases of CWM I've found on dev forum have only one method of installation, which is flashing thru CWM recovery itself. So how do I install cwm if I don't have any version of it yet?
My tf101 is already on last ICS official update.

[Q] How get Lates Version CWM recovery ?

Hi guys anyone can help me get the latest version Clockwordmod recovery for the rooting process? Please help, thanks ..
well if i understand your ? your looking to root your phone ? correct? if so you will need to root your phone first once your phone is rooted you can download rommanager from android market and it will download the latest avalible clockworkmod recovery to your device
any ? just inbox me
just look for a guide on how to root like the guy above said. what phone do you have? you may also want to look at TWRP as your recovery manager. i was having some issues with clockwork with my evo3d, so i decided to gove TWRP a try. when it comes to clockwork, be careful about the newest version. for some reason my 3d refused to work with anything later than CW 4.0.4 or something like that... odd anyway just makesure you can reflash the old version if you update
If you are trying to port CWM to your device, you can just get CyanogenMod source code from github. It contains the latest CWM source.

[Q] wich CWM to flash custom Kernel

I'd like to flash a custom kernel on my rooted TF101 with latest ICS stock rom, but i've not installed a custom recovery.
I tougth to use Recovery Installer app to easily flash CWM (3.2.0.1).
The question is: can I flash a custom kernel (like this) with CWM 3.2.0.1 or do I need a more recent version of CWM (like 5.5.04)?
Another question... after flashing custom kernel, do I keep rooot permission?
thank you for your attention
3.2.0.1 cwm should work just fine

CWM on TF300T w/Jellybean

Hey Guys,
I am having trouble Installing CWM Recovery on My Tf300T after upgrading to Jellybean firmware.
Since my device is unlocked I had to download and install the 'official Jellybean ROM' from online. (WW Version, since I am in Australia).
Jellybean is working great (Through I have noticed that is sucks up about 100mb + more ram than ICS did) but whenever I try to install and run CWM Mod, it just hangs.
Any ideas on a fix?
P.S. I had CWM and Root installed before I updated to Jellybean but the update seemed to get rid of both of those
TWRP for the win!
I just installed TWRP and it's working fine. I prefer Clockword but after some browsing the net, I found others who have had issues with it.
So just a note here: There are issues with Flashing CWM via fastboot on the TF300 with Jellybean

New owner

I just picked up a used TF101 and have been reading the threads learning more about my new ( used ) toy.
The tablet just recently updated itself to ICS 4.0.3 with Kernel 2.6.39.4 & 9..2.1.27 and now I would like to root the device and look at the possibility of loading new roms etc.
I have read the forum until my eyes hurt. Is there someone that can point me at the correct thread to root my device safely?
Thanks

To get root & custom recovery, the following methods are reported to be working with the latest Asus ROM:

I have personally used the first method about a month ago, no problem with my tf101 and the latest ROM (9.2.1.27)

I've can also vouch for the first method on TF101G with latest ICS ( [TOOL]PERI-0.4 One click root+recovery/fix-bootloops+soft-bricks ALL Devices V0.4). Just install it on the PC, run the .BAT file and follow the instructions to root and install Custom Recovery on the Transformer.
The only issue I've had is that its custom Recovery won't seem flash the ASUS stock ROM for some reason. So what I do now is use the above tool to get root and Custom Recovery, then use that to flash ClockWorkMod Recovery v6.0.1.4 NoTouch Hybrid from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1855686 - click the Download link and get the cwm-6.0.1.4-notouch-hybrid.zip file (apparently the Touch version is currently broken).
From CWM recovery you should be able to flash any custom ROM and kernel etc., and also return to stock by flashing the ASUS stock ROM from their download site (make sure you select the right one for your model and unzip it first - for some reason they put the zip ROM inside another zip).
If you do return to stock, don't forget you'll also lose root and custom recovery so you'll need to start over.
Good luck!

[Q] Problem with [Official] Cyanogenmod (4.2.2) Nightly 2013/07/09 for TF300T

Being new to the forums it would appear I can not post this in the relevent thread to tell the Developer perhaps another forum member or a Mod could link to this article later.
Original thread located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2055430
People flashing the latest nightlies since 2013/07/06 have been unable to install the latest CM10.1 nightlies if they're using the CWM 6.0.2.5 official clockwork mod recovery bootloader.
It would seem the newer recovery flash only supports the TWRP.blob and not the official clockwork recovery mod.
This is not a Bootloader issue caused by having a bootloader that only supports 4.1 and not 4.2
Because the last build before this happened was CM10.1 20130706 (4.2.2) which was working fine when you clicked the CM10.1 update button.
So in order to re-flash the latest nightlies it would seem I have to go and find another PC, dig out the USB cable's put the device back into fastboot and flash the TWRP.blob which I havent had the time to do and fail to see why that's needed if the Official CWM Bootloader was doing the Job previously.
Anyone know why the TWRP.blob seems to have taken precidence over the CWM? Or why the latest nightlies are incompatible with the CWM 6.0.2.5 bootloader which until the 20130707 Nightly update had been working and upgrading the build perfectly???
