[Q] wich CWM to flash custom Kernel - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'd like to flash a custom kernel on my rooted TF101 with latest ICS stock rom, but i've not installed a custom recovery.
I tougth to use Recovery Installer app to easily flash CWM (3.2.0.1).
The question is: can I flash a custom kernel (like this) with CWM 3.2.0.1 or do I need a more recent version of CWM (like 5.5.04)?
Another question... after flashing custom kernel, do I keep rooot permission?
thank you for your attention

3.2.0.1 cwm should work just fine

Do You Need Root To Flash Custom Recovery Through NVFlash?

I have a replacement G2x coming today in the mail and if it comes with 2.3.3 on it and I can't root it through superoneclick can I just flash CWM through NVFlash and then a custom ROM with root or do I need to root the current ROM to flash CWM through NVFlash? Thanks!
Nope, just flash recovery as you normally would, and install any ROM you'd like.

[Q] rom n bootloader/kernal confusion

hey i'm coming from using moto milestone n i'm really confused abt something
since there was no custom kernal for milestone
1) when i root my phone do i unlock the bootloader also ?
2) when i install a rom which says it has a kernal so tht means when i flash it the custom kernal flashes as well on its own ?
3) if i install a rom n then i want another kernal, do i flash it the same way ?
1. Bootloader need to be unlocked in order to root and install custom roms.
2. Each rom comes with a kernel but you can flash other kernels on it.
3. Flashing a new rom will wipe your kernel to a stock one which comes with the rom. But you can reflash any kernel on it.
So basically unlock bootloader> root> install clockworkmod> make backup> install rom> flash kernel> install different rom> reflash favorite kernel again.

Are you able to Flash a Custom ROM on top of another Custom ROM

basically are you able to do this in clockwork recovery:
Flash-ThiaiZ's ROM then go into CWM and Flash Acuras ROM
>I do not care about loosing my data

[Q] GNex TOOLKIT V7 Drivers, Backup, Unlock, Root, CWM, Flash, Mods + MUCH MORE [GSM

The toolkit states that a full bootloader unlock, root, and cwm recovery installation is possible either separately or with “1 –click”. Elsewhere in the forum it is stated that android will revert to stock recovery if cwm is flashed to a stock ROM. Does the toolkit method solve the problem of reverting to stock recovery if not immediately flashing a custom ROM and staying with stock ROM? Or does this mean it will always revert to stock recovery when booting back into stock ROM unless the specific file listed is removed from /system?

[Q] Need some guidance of kernel and custom rom install

I want to install ElementalX kernel and CleanRom JL. Since the kernel also supports hboot 1.4, i'm not sure what should be the order of installation?
1. Flash kernel along with boot.img. Then flash custom rom on the phone
2. Flash just the kernel and skip boot.img installation. Then push the boot.img separately and flash custom rom
3. Push the boot.img separately and flash custom rom. Then, flash the kernel without boot.img support.
Can somebody help me out here. Thanks in advance.
Flash clean Rom then elemental
