Update sent "Software is invalid" - T-Mobile LG G2x

At 2:30 am or so I received and alert on my screen saying "Software is invalid" and when I pressed the ok button it took me to the software update page were I searched for an update and it told me that I was up to date.
What did I do wrong? I installed stock rooted 2.3.3. Is that why? Maybe I should have restored using the Kdz.

What to do if you're unable to update with LG Updater?

Several of us on XDA have been experiencing the "Phone is already latest version" message in the LG Updater Tool. Is there a way to get past this? I've tried almost everything. I reflashed stock recovery... Did a factory reset. Uninstalled all the drivers. Reinstalled everything. Deleted everything that had to do with LG on my computer... I keep getting the same message. Someone please help! I know it's not the official GB update, but at least it's better than Froyo! Any tips?

Since its not an t-mobile official release not everyone can use the LG update tool to update.
Since I was getting the same msg you were I ended up rooting my phone and installing the rooted version xboarder put up here. Otherwise you'll have to keep trying and wait till t-mobile sends out the ota for the public.

[Q] "DMClient has stopped working"

Every now and then this msg "DMClient has stopped working" pops up two times. I googled a bit and found out that force stopping and clearing data/cache should stop this from happening, but the pop-up is still bugging me. I found out that when I enter the firmware update section in "About tablet/phone" and tap the "Check for updates" button, the DMClient stops working and it throws me out of the 'update page/menu/thing'.
Is this a very common problem? Are there solutions?
Well, it started a firmware download and now it's installing new firmware. Let's see if that was part of the sudden problems.

The DMClient is what handle the OTA update.

I figured they were related. After this update I'm still on 4.0.3. I guess this is how it should be?
Edit: ah... Lost my root with this update. That sucks, because OF COURSE I'm not going to be home the next two weeks... The nerve Asus has to ruin my hardware in this way...

This will come in handy as soon as I get home in about two weeks. But for now I'm stuck...

Connection failed caused by authentication error

Can anyone tell me their device management sever settings for the firmware over the air. That has received the new update to 2.3.4? I can tell you how to get to the settings to see what they are

I'm getting this error as well. I did the update to v21y a couple weeks ago with the LG tool. but my phone keeps prompting me with "You can check a new software". Way to go in english class. Tmobile tells me LG is pushing the update not them and gives me the LG support number.
I'm already on 21y and am being prompted to check for the update and then authentication error. Maybe this version of 21y is slightly different.
Could you tell me the server settings?

I am getting this error as well. I was running CM7.2 rc1 and decided to night to revert to stock to see if I could get the ota.
I used CWM to restore to stock 2.3.3 using the download from gunman's thread. Cleared dalvik, cache and did a factory restore. I noticed superuser was still on there so I flashed jboxers zip to unroot, then used nvflash to restore stock recovery. Cleared cache, dalvik and did another factory reset to be sure.
Checking for an update I don't get a message about whether my phone is up to date or not, I get a message saying it can't connect to the server due to an authentication error.
This happened to me last time there was an ota update. To go from Froyo to GB I had to use the LG tool because my phone wouldn't authenticate with tmo's servers.
It's not a second hand phone or anything. I bought it directly from a tmo store. Dunno why it won't ever authenticate for an ota update.
My g2x did that for the 2.3.3 update on the new one it downloads then had the authentication error. The offline fix for the update works great though

[Q] Lollipop OTA downloaded, install failed, now it says I'm up to date?

Hello,
So I finally got the notification to download OTA Lollipop today, which I did. Problem is, when I went to install it, the phone restarted, an ERROR screen popped up. I restarted the phone, the update wasn't installed and now when I "Check for Updates" it says I'm up to date.
How can I install the update without side-loading it?

I had the exact same issue but it sounds like a good thing it didn't update from all the issues everyone keeps posting all over the net. Is your device rooted? OTA only works on completely stock devices I read somwhere.
I too ran into this problem. But before i returned my phone to stock i converted it to kali linux. At first i thought it was an encryption issue, so i restored my phone. I still received the error message.
To install kali linux i had to unlock the boot loader, then flash the software. I returned to stock by wiping, flashing stock, then locking the boot loader.
With Xposed not supporting 5.0 I am thinking of stating 4.4.4
I want to stay at 4.4.4. Can't get rid of the Update nag -- and I've tried everything.

I found my problem. My gps.conf file was edited by Faster GPS. I forgot to revert before the OTA and thus my error occurred. I hope this helps.
I'm still getting the same issue after supposed install:
I've had the OTA notification for a while but it won't install. It downloads and then when it does the reboot I see it trying to update then I get the 'Red Triangle'. It reboots again back to 4.4.4
Phone was rooted but still using the stock ROM so I did a factory restore, I'm still getting the same issue.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
