dudes and dudettes,
I tried out one of the Sense ICS ROMS (ARHD 5.0.2) and while aspects of it were great, at the moment (due to kernel development) it's a lot slower than the Gingerbread ROMs available.
However, I really loved the HTC ICS "Notes" and "Tasks" apps.
My questions,
1. Is it possible to run these apps on Gingerbread? Obviously the widgets couldn't really be integrated with a current ROM without recooking the whole thing, but just being able to use the apps would be great. Could someone provide the APKs if it is possible?
2. If that won't work, could somebody strip the icons from the apks for me? I love them and I'd like to use them for my note and to do apps.
Thanks for reading,
zuka
They work on Sense Gingerbread ROMs, yes.
I've installed both on a Gingerbread Sense 3.0 ROM and they both force close. Am I doing something wrong?
I should have clarified, Sense 3.5 ROMs have them.
So I got ICS up and running with no issues but that white background on the messaging app is killing me. Anyone know how I would go by finding a working CM9 messaging apk for our phone? I was using the cm7 mms apk on MHX superlite and on previous ROMs but from my understanding the CM7 one will not work with ICS.
hi

Looking for the same thing myself. I installed exDialer to use in place of the ICS dialer, but like the gingerbread version better.
Simple answer is no. The coding changed.
It's not possible.. However u can use go dialer which comes with go contacts.. U might like that one..
Sent from my fingers to your face using xda premium.!
i use Go contact and Dialer, it's very cool
I am a complete noob to the android world as the galaxy s3 is my first android device.
This question might be stupid but I was wondering if i download and install apps and launcher and if I didn't like them can i just delete them and there will be no lingering effect?
I mean if i delete them will it be like i've never downloaded them in the first place. I really dont wanna download a bunch of things like launchers for example and have them affect my phone in anyway even after i uninstall them.
After they are uninstalled they will be gone and won't affect anything. Some apps create directories in phone storage and on SD card and they need to be deleted manually.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I just downloaded apex launcher and loving the way it let me customize versus the TW.
You're welcome, and I can't stand TouchWiz at all lol. I use Holo Launcher HD.

Another great launcher app is Nova. It came installed with an older CM9 port I flashed, I loved it so much I got the paid app ($4 US). The best thing about Android is that the sky is literally the limit. If you do not like stock there are many other great options available.
I'm trying cyanogenmod 10.1 for the first time and was on ICE DS before.
Now in android 4.2.2 the included mail app differs from the one which was included in ICE DS.
Which app was in ICE DS and is it possible to get them working in CM10.1?
The one in cm is not as friendly as in ice ds. for example; only showing the unread mail from several folders.
The mail app in ice ds is part of the whole sense framework /environment, so I'm quite sure it's not possible to get it working on any cm rom.
You could look at mail Apps from play store, maybe there's something there you would like better than the stock cm one.
