Maybe a different usb cable???
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
If your positive its not the battery, then it's either the cable or the contacts. Try another cable first though. If it still doesnt work you have the option of going to ebay and buying a new charge port and installing yourself or calling lg if its been less then a year and they should replace it for you.

Your a funny guy BRO that would might work but I cant get any of my PCs to recognize my phone so Im not rooted.Thats why Im looking for a good trust worthy pay site to order one thanks for ya help though
Have you already downloaded the SG4G drivers on all of your PCs? It would be odd that not even one of them worked. You're best bet to getting your phone unlocked, other than from at home, is to call T-mobile and ask them for the code. I heard they will be hesitant to give it to you if you haven't owned the phone for at least 3 months though.
As for myself, I don't know any sites that do this, sorry.
Yes Ive tried drivers some reason nothing works I must be getting the wrong drivers I dont get it.
Try uninstalling the drivers, reinstalling them, then rebooting your phone and PC.

I have over and over lol I have never had a phone do this to me before.Wish I would of kept my G2x but I didnt lol I dont get it.
what happens when you plug your phone in the pc?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
You don't need to have tmobile. Just an imei number
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Also, did the guy from craigslist give you a generic USB cord or the official Samsung one? Not all of the generic USB cord provide syncing features, so they just charge the phone.

When i plug the phone into the pc the phone just charges thats it.Not sure if its the right cord or not.
I ended up finding a unlocker the guys actually called me to make sure what phone I had now Im running with AT&T go phone.I left tmobile because of the service was just awful in the area that I had to move to.Now I can make calls and text with full bars.
I really want to get this phone rooted so I can try out some roms.I sure miss the G2x was fun testing all the different ones it had
you have to buy a new USB plug! Went tthrough the same problem on my old vibrant I thought I bricked it because it wouldn't turn on,I sent it in and tthey fixed it and sent it back.. still undergoing the same problem I asked a friend for help. He said maybe it was the wire And tthat's exactly what it was. It is most likely without a doubt the wrong wire. Buy a new one!

That does make sense. Thanks for stating the obvious
My original cable got hosed (dropped it in a parking lot...D'oh!) and I bought a new T-Mobile branded one from the T-Mobile store. Was $14 or so, which I felt was robbery, but it works like a champ. I've had no problems flashing ROMs or anything with it.
I just looked the cord over man Im dumb and feel really stupid right now lol Its a LG cord. They say when you hit 40 ya go blind
Honestly, one wouldn't think the brand would matter. And no 40 jokes...hittin' 41 tomorrow

Oh just figured it was for just LG phones. It doesnt feel like it connects to the phone to snug either.
I've looked all over for info regarding this but I've come up sorta empty handed. I'm working on a charging dock for my Samsung Stratosphere and I was wondering if anyone had any information on the USB pinout? I'm pretty sure pin 1 is generally +5V and pin 5 is generally GND, I'm lost on the center pins though.
Thanks!

I would suggest starting here: Hardware Hacking
If all he is going to do with his dock is charge the device then all he needs is the 5+ and ground right? the charding hardwaer is in the device and the 5v usb supplies it right? Basically what im saying is the power supply doesnt motitor anything but it just supplies the power, correct?

I dunno, man. I'm definitely not a hardware dude. I've never gotten into that aspect of it all.
Leo, I think you're right. The goal for this charger is not only to charge the phone, but to monitor the battery and run certain commands when the battery is at certain percentages. I'm using an arduino for the project.

I now realize I'm probably going to have to create some type of serial connection to be able to get information on the battery's charge level. Ideas anyone?

Just to let you know, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS THIS ABOUT
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
I'll try to be a bit more clear.
I want to make a phone charger that will read the battery charge level and output that data to an Arduino microcontroller. The motivation for this project is to extend the battery life since batteries last longer when they are only charged to full for a brief time (instead of leaving it charged at 100% all night long)

Does anybody know or have even used Anker batteries and can give some feedback on them?
Also wondering if the wall charger can charge the OEM Samsung battery that came with my phone.

I bought an Anker for my Captivate, it was probably the best investment I made for that phone.
I use that exact set. The batteries are wonderful, but the charger itself is a little poorly made/easy to break
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I have the exact set also, and yes you can use it to charge the OEM batteries. Have done it numerous times. I've had great success with Anker products. I've purchased so many of their products they send me free items.

Actually, when I bought the batteries, I got 2 chargers. The one that a rarely touch at work is still working like a champ, but the one I was using at home broke at the plug.
They're both kind of flimsy, but I probably just got one bad one. Still a great deal

You got two? Was that on purpose or was it by accident?
In any case, I'm not sure what to do if I only receive one that will be flimsy and break.

I bought 2 on purpose to have one at home and one at work. The chargers themselves are flimsy, but I have two small boys in the house, which makes most tech scream in terror anyway
I'd say that if you get one and it breaks, $10 for a new charger isn't much risk

Really? That nexus battery was able to fit in the skyrocket?
I wasn't concerned about getting better battery life than the stock just cause they're 2200mah but more concerned about the quality of the batteries and the wall charger.
Thanks for your input though!

Even if it's after 30 days, just call Samsung Support and tell them you were installing ICS (or something along those lines) when it turned off and won't come back on, they will unbrick it or replace at no charge.

Pull battery, plug into computer and hold down power power and volume up and volume down. Wait for it to vibrate once and release. Does it go into download mode? These things are pretty hard to hard brick, but it is possible.

Was running cm10 4.1.1 with butter from last month's build. Running great.... but then phone turned off while in idle one time and won't restart. Won't even bring to Samsung screen or when plugged into computer.. no download mode. No cwm boot as well. I've tried pulling the battery and even putting in my spare one.. no luck. However, sometimes when I do just try to power up normally my keys light up and give the vibration when touched. Which provides some hope
Never had a brick like this before. I'm sure there's software to run... just not sure since no download mode.
Thanks

So I recently got my jig, didn't feel like sacrificing a cable. I'm sad to say that when plugged in (and yes it is plugged in correctly) there is no response from my phone. The download screen does not appear. Just remains blank.. I tried the same jig on my friend's gs2 for us cellular and worked there. Is my phone so messed up that the jig will not be recognized?
Also, the jig I ordered has been reported to work fine on the infuse.
