First off, big thank you to JRW 28 for the Lithium 1.2.1 Rom. I absolutely love it.
This is my first time rooting my phone and installing any kind of custom rom, and I'm very happy with the results.
However, I changed my wallpaper to a live wallpaper just to see what it was like, and I want to set it back to the default wallpaper that came with the rom.
When I go back to try and reset it, I cannot find the default wallpaper anywhere. I also tried browsing my sdcard etc on the computer, but wasn't able to find the image anywhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Long-press home > wallpapers > wallpapers, click "reset to default"
Or if you wanna play with your new found root access, you could navigate to /system/framework/framework-res.apk, view the apk and go to /res/drawable-hdpi folder and copy/extract the default_wallpaper file to your sdcard for future personal use..

If you still can't get it tell me And i'll upload it for you
So I browsed into the root directory, and am now swimming through thousands of png files trying to find the wallpaper ...any hints as to what it might be named? Thanks again
Also: when I long press home, I don't get an option for wallpapers, I just get a list of my recent apps. When I either long press the background or open up wall paper from settings, I only get options to browse my gallery or SD card. Thanks!

I don't think so, when I get to the wallpaper options like you mentioned, my only options are Gallery, GO Wallpaper, Live Wallpapers nothing to restore the default.
Also: The default_wallpaper file I extracted is only 518k...is that why the resolution is coming out poorly?

Riiight... Lithium doesn't have the stock launcher... You could try to install the BlurHome2.apk, (there should be some zips around)..
Might also need Moto Home Fix from Play Store if you wanna keep two launchers - but freeze or uninstall it if you stick with the stock Blur launcher as it's mainly to help switching between launchers and could mess with your home button a bit...
Also, that size of pic is normal.. it may be the wallpaper chooser that doesn't resize it properly. I think i noticed that when i was on go launcher, or with a different version of My Gallery..
Good luck!

those look like standard unix preference files like on my Mac. Do I want to delete the one for com.Android.Wallpaper or com.htc.FilePicker?
whats under the com.android.wallpaper dir? btw check my edit from my last post
I'll try to delete that wallpaper file under /data/data/com.android.settings/files and see what happens. I'll post back in a little.
EDIT: haha deleting that wallpaper file just removed my wallpaper and set it to default. So, gotta try something else
Edit2: I've tried deleting a ton of things off my phone that have either album, or wallpaper as a part of their name. none of which have gotten rid of those wallpaper. i give up :-/

EDIT: made no difference
Alright, so I couldn't give up
Where exactly did you go to select the wallpapers that have been removed? ie. Htc wallpapers, photos, wallpaper gallery?
Are you referring to the one's in the attached picture
it was in the extra entry just called wallpaper. I think its related to the aloyociois ROM because that's the only ROM I have that uses launcher 2

Heya, I've recently installed Khalpower's V4 rom. Pretty awesome job =) However, I wasn't able to disable the "slide to unlock" screen. Since I'm using the pattern lock, there is no need for the slide to unlock screen anymore. The original moto rom would disable the "slide to unlock" screen when lock pattern is enabled. Is there an option to do so in KP's rom?
Many thanks! =)
Also, have realised that the camera button is not working. Have anyone experience that? Also, is there a known issues/bugs thread to keep track of any problems on the custom roms?
Thank you!
AFAIK the slider issue is there on all of the Froyo ROMS here (Dexters, Xavwanteds & Kahlpowers). I've never seen a fix for this issue.
If your talking about the gallery button (small button next to the shutter) this is also a known issue.
Ohh ic, thanks for your reply
Any idea where to get the old ringtones cos i really like the meadow grass ringtone =P and also the 15% battery sound notification is quite creepy :S anyway to change it?
Thanks
I should be able to dig up the default ringtones when I get home.
Look in /system/media/audio/ui, I would think you could replace LowBattery.ogg with the sound of your choosing (IDK if it has to be an ogg file or not?) that should work but I haven't tried yet.
Oic, do i access there using root explorer? Anyway if you have the default ringtone meadow grass would be great =D cos i backed it up only with recovery so didnt have the ogg files.
Thanks again

That reminds me... I've been meaning to ask someone for this ages ago. Do you or anyone else have all the ringtones from the 2.1 (there were a few I liked but I can't remember the names) and the wallpapers as well? (there was a really nice blue one with white swirls that looked great on the screen)
Would be appreciated.

How can I put the wallpapers on so it shows up as an option to choose from like in 2.1? (I mean like if I would longpress on homescreen I could select from a little gallery of wallpapers in the normal wallpaper way)
Ahh cool Anyway, how to gain excess to the root files? Tried with all kinds of explorers but didnt work. Root explorer is paid app so didnt try that. Didnt work with su on terminal as well.

If you long press the home screen >> wallpapers >> media gallery you can browse pics on your sdcard. I believe you would have to decompile edit and recompile the home apk to get them in the default wallpaper gallery

I might be missing something here but I can't apply a wallpaper without it being either bad quality (even with a high quality image) or misc. launchers and apps. I am running CM7.
I have the same problem, and also the wallpaper keeps changing to the wallpaper from the lock screen. I'm sure there's a solution posted somewhere.
I'm sure there are plenty of ways to do this, but I used the Kindle Fire Utility. Under "Extras", there's an option to lock or unlock the wallpaper. Unlock the wallpaper, make your change, and then lock it again. Mine hasn't changed since.
I think the quality problem has something to do with how the device is scaling the image if it's not the correct resolution.
I found that it's very hard to get a wallpaper to look good in both landscape and portrait view depending on the resolution. This is unfortunate because I have a ton of wallpapers that would look great on the kindle but they just don't display right.
Having issues with this myself...tried the lock / unlock..no luck.

The default factory setting is unlocked (and lock screen changes the wallpaper every time it is cycled) so use bebrooks1 method (post #3)...it worked for me on stock rooted.

As far as I know, the accepted method for properly setting wallpapers (on Android in general) is to use an app such as Wallpaper Set And Save from the market. It'll set the wallpaper at the original image quality.
I always use Wallpaper Wizardri to set my wallpapers......but with this postiive comes a negative....for some reason it constantly runs in the background. I just use Titanium Backup Pro to freeze it and unfreeze it whenever I need to change wallpapers. Works like a charm.

Downloaded this app and tried it out and it doesnt work. The wallpaper is still very blurry. Looks nothing like the image i selected for the wallpaper.
To change the wallpaper on your kindle and make it "stick", do the following:
Set your wallpaper
Open Root Explorer
Navigate to data/data/com.Android.settings/files/wallpaper
Long press on wallpaper, select permissions from the menu that drops down.
Uncheck the "write" permission for all users then click OK.

Yes I am.
It's /data/, not /sdcard/data or anything else.
I assume you are rooted...what file explorer are you using?
I use ES File Explorer 1.6.1.0 from the Market (not Amazon because last I checked they were a version or two behind)
Then go into settings a scroll to bottom and select ROOT EXPLORER and when asked I think I selected the CM option (and for good measure select MOUNT FILE SYSTEM, although I don't think that is required unless you are working in the /system/ folder).
Now you should see the contents of the /data/ folder...
Hope this helps.

Had the same thing happen to me. Check out my post (#7) from another thread in this topic.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21188224#post21188224
Has anyone figured this out yet? There's a lot of talk in this thread about something entirely different. Most of us know how to make it so the wallpapers no longer change.
What I'm curious about is how to set a wallpaper and not have it extremely stretched and blurry. Neither of the apps listed on the previous page achieve this goal (Wallpaper Set and Save & Wallpaper Wizardii).
This is on the stock ROM (using Go Launcher EX).

Download Wallbase. It's a wallpaper app that I've had excellent results with. Not everything out there will work with tablets. This one does and has TONS of wallpapers in it, HD, and just about all of them look like they were made for tablets.
By the way, the mod that was given earlier regarding how to keep your wallpaper from changing WORKS.

I had the exact same problem as you did trying to get that wallpaper back...
I really do like it a lot & I think it's the best of the entire bunch that is included in that ROM.
The long answer to your question is in this thread, second post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480248, which states,
How i can get the blue eye (or any other) wallpaper again?
Which ROM was it in? Do you still have the .zip?
- Pull the system/app/Launcher.apk
- Unzip it. Yes, apk is a zip file.
- Look in res/drawable-hdpi folder.
Although I did manage to open the apk file mentioned above, I did not see that particular image at all. I even tried a bunch of other files, and of course, it wasn't there, either.
Needless to say, I managed to find the wallpaper I was looking for on another of lumin30's posts and I saved it to my harddrive.
*************************************************************************************************************************
I stand corrected. If you follow lumin30's instructions, (written directly below this post), then you will indeed find that exact file. It is called, "default_wallpaper.jpg". From what I can tell, it's the only wallpaper that is in that file.
*************************************************************************************************************************
I know that some images need to be resized depending on the launcher that you're using. I kept having problems with my wallpapers fitting correctly when I was using Go Launcher EX.
I read around on the Internet & found a post suggesting an app called Wallpaper Wizard ii. It's available on Google Play Store for free. The good thing about that app is that you can use it on whatever image you want.
Before you give up, perhaps you should give that a try.
The default wallpaper is found in the \system\framework\framework-res.apk.
Then in framework-res.apk --> \res\drawable
I tried the picture you posted but when I try to use it as my background, it's a blurry and not the whole picture

Got any more backgrounds? I'm looking for brighter ones since all icons in VB are kind of dark. Thanks!
does anyone know how to put the whole background in?? because it forces me to crop it and i dont want that
Whenever I used Wallpaper Wizard ii, I just set it to "scale" & it looked good to me.
I can't tell you for sure what all that did, but I was satisfied with the results.
Good luck & don't forget to let us know if you find something that works better for you.
Put the wallpaper in framework-res.apk in the res/drawable-hdpi folder then reflash the rom

Couldnt he just push the .apk to /system/framework and boot to recovery and fix permissions? That would avoid having to reflash and download apps right?

I cannot get a lockscreen to stick. I set one (using photos, gallery, and Nova) but the brownish boat dock always comes back as the lockscreen.
I have deleted all the Magazine unlock pictures and the dock picture explicitly, but it still comes back.
Is there a location for a default lockscreen and can I overwrite it?

I REALLY appreciate the response/help. Unfortunately not so on my rooted phone and/or with covered case. Gallery, Google wallpapers, Nova. Sticks for a pick then boom. Lockscreen back to dock of the bay, except...
It appears that the lockscreen, at least the one that comes up after lockscreen timeout (your lockscreen does stay for a swipe or other method, before timeout. It was themes, that is where (for me) the dominate lockscreen is. Themes didn't work (on an encrypted internal data partition). I got the full root working again then the Theme lockscreen predominated, even if the individual parts of a prebuilt theme were available to change. So I pick the least busy theme. Now you can change your own wallpaper (any method) with the new theme and it does stick.
Thanks again.
Interesting PITA.

Ok. Apologies. Absolutely right for the lockscreen. My problem is what I typically which is Smart Cover. That is what I cant mod. I use the luxury tueme for smart cover. Unfortunately every time I change it doesn't stick within the theme.

If I understand correctly, you are trying to change the S-View photo. This can be achieved only by applying a theme.
I highly recommend you to try this application to modify the theme that you are using , and select the S-view photo you like.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mixapplications.themeeditor
Hope this helps!
That helps, and by changing the right them it solves the issue completely. Some themes let you disable magazine unlock then all behaves as it should until you reenable magazine unlock.
