Virtuous Inquisition 4.0.1 on HTC Sensation, the default launcher "Nova" doesn't seem to allow to change the number of home screens. I found an alternative launcher "Apex" and it is pretty good. But I would prefer if it's the default launcher for Virtuous Inquisition.

I've just become the proud owner of a Nexus S. Stock it has 5 home pages, but I know that Android in general will support 7. I can't find an option for updating this on the Nexus S with 2.3.1

It depends on the launcher you're using. If you're using the stock launcher, you'll be limited to 5 home screens. You can download ADW, or Launcher Pro. ADW seems to have more customizations.
Real stock Android 2.3 is 5 homescreens only, you can not change it. HTC Sense UI can do 7.
If you want more, your option is to use a 3rd party launcher like ADW.Launcher

Most likely 540x960. If you have a scrollable wallpaper, 1080x960.

You can only use scrollable wallpapers with a different launcher.
Like adw or launcher pro.
Sense launcher does not scroll.

I have been trying both Virtuous Quattro and CM9 and one of the cool features I have noticed with the launchers on these platforms is that when my wallpaper auto changes it zooms the new paper in rather than just a normal change.
Does anyone know if this can be replicated in Reaper V2.1 using either ADW launcher EX or Go Launcher?

5*4 Grid of Launcher (even of sense, if it's possible)
This is not the question "which is the best rom" but i like to hear your recommendation for my needs
ARHD, Sense o Maniac or Elegancia would all be ideal IMO.

I don't like the Elegancia theme...
i would also like a 5*4 Layout of the Launcher (even if its sense)

Okay fair enough.
You can get the 5x4 layout with a custom Launcher like ADW or Nova Launcher. Not sure if there's a Sense mod that enables it.

Of course that is a possibility but i would like to use APEX if it is a AOSP (or AOSP-framework) ROM and Sense if it is a Sense ROM... Isn't there any mod for a 5*4 sense launcher?
