I assumed that KL4 is your tablet's revision of firmware? Maybe nobody has extracted that particular revision yet...
It is indeed. What would happening i bricked device if the firmware isn't available!
I'm using the downloaded XXKL2 firmware on mine without issue. On the back it says GT-P6210MA (it's a US edition with infrared). I started out with LA3.
Should be able to flash a XXKL2. In the meantime keep a nandroid and a copy on ext. Sdcard.
The 6200's are pretty interchangeable.

Hey guys, i'm new to this community as i recently bought a TAB 2 3100,
the problem for me is, i want to upgrade to JB, but the latest update for mine "p3100 XWBLH3" is ICS
my question is; can i use a JB update from other regions (France for example) and use it on my tablet? if so, what's the risk of doing this process?
thanks so much !
Hi. I always flash the latest version I find, whatever country is that for, and never had problems. However, make a backup before, just in case.

Hi, sorry if I shouldn't have created this thread..I just don't know where else to look for help.
I have had a very stressful afternoon reading about radio's and baseband versions. I have confused myself even more.
Basically I bought a Nexus S from a UK second hand store, I can't remember what the baseband was when I bought it. (Sorry)
I then proceeded to root the phone and flash a copy of Hellybean. I then instantly had signal issues and was never able to use 3g.
The highest connection I get is GPRS. Mt carrier is 02 if that is any help.... I then flashed a copy of CM to see if that changed anything, no luck!
The model of my phone behind the battery reads GTI9020. The baseband in the about phone section reads I9020AUCKF1.
Is this the correct baseband for my model or should I flash another?
Any help is much appreciated..thanks
Nick

I've managed to successfully install 4.4.2 onto Rogers bell SaskTel and telus Note 3. Modem and CSC from the latest Canadians Carrier and flashed with Odin 3.09 along with TelCel (Mexican) 4.4.2 files below. Download link file in the attached file.
Follow the instructions and have a break for kit Kat.
Also good news is if you don't like to be on 4.4.2 and want to go back you can go back from the 4.4.2 to 4.3 again by just downloading the Carrier specific official Odin flash ROM. This ROM is down gradable.
Good luck all Canadians....

Yes, we already do know this works on our phones because several of us have already done it days ago, myself included. It works fine.
hey,
i opened the attached file, not able to go to the links
So essentially this gives you stock kitkat with 4.3 modem? Does it wipe data? Trigger Knox?

Just head over to this thread for more information - @shant0nu why don't you update your original post with this link so we can reduce redundancy. No point in having the same conversation in two spots.
Change title - it is not a official update
Thanks for bring it to us.
I would request you not to post incorrect information as this is not a official update. It defeats the purpose of having a forum.
Thanks

Any news for official update over OTA ?
Hi,
Has anyone received update notification via OTA or Kies for 4.4 ?
Mostly all the model have received the update so far, looks like Canadian carries are slower then the rest to push the update.
Please update.
Thanks

I think yes. I don't know as I already have knox ox1 lol.
hello i had a question
i has to install the rom from telus, becaouse if i install another, i lost the LTE capability, and i dont know why, i tried to install this rom(telcel) and i had two problems, lost of the lte capability and i was unable to activate by this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2489766), and the second problem was the network lock, so i can use on my network, anybody can help me????
I installed this sucessfully on my SM-N900W8, but with problems
Hi everyone, I installed this method on my SM-N900W8 and have successfully updated to 4.4.2 KitKat, but there were some problems:
1- My LTE doesn't work, so I've had to put up with slow data
2- My External SDHC card (64GB Sandisk) wasn't compatible for files such as music, videos, etc.
I installed 4.4.2 right when this thread was posted about a month ago and figured that since the official KitKat update was coming soon, I didn't think I'd have to put up with it for that long, but it's been a while and still we have no KitKat.
I also read that once you flash 4.4 KitKat, you cannot go back to 4.3, is that true with this method, since the 4.3 Kernel is still the same?
I would really appreciate if someone could help me out here!
(In the meantime, I'm going to try my luck with this new 4.4.2 custom ROM that was released for the SM-N900W8: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2648843) (I believe shant0nu here in this thread authored this one!)
p.s. My carrier is Telus, if that matters at all.

You can downgrade back to 4.3 if you flashed the right files. Read the guide here.
Hey guys! So I have a few questions about the oneplus one here, I'm checking for a friend and I always had a nexus where matching firmware doesn't really matter much. So here they are.
1) What happens if you have the wrong firmware for a rom? Softbrick? Hardbrick? Nothing at all?
2) For a Nougat rom, what firmware do you use? Since this phone hasn't got an official firmware update for Nougat yet.
3) Is there a special recovery here on XDA that can flash all roms? (there was one for the oneplus two) or is TWRP good for all roms?
What confuses me the most about oneplus devices is how the firmware works different from most Android devices. Thanks guys!

Thanks! So it's not as important as it seems? I notice some roms here on XDA specifically say to have the newest firmware, or a certain version. The rom is still expected to boot? And what's the worst case scenario? A soft brick that can be easily fixed with TWRP or something worse? Thanks for the reply! Like I said, I'm coming from a Nexus 6 where none of this firmware stuff really applies

Yes the rom is a still expected to boot, though, the recommended frimware is to be used so as to avoid any bugs.
However, some roms do require the recommended frimware in order to boot but I don't think even if flash any rom which needs recommended frimware will take you in any kind of brick condition as when you flash a rom on incompatible frimware you'll see error in Twrp,if so happens you just need to have recommended frimware in your storage and flash it then flash the rom again and you'll not face any errors.
Good luck!

1. If you are using TWRP, nothing will happens. Because when you flash a ROM, TWRP will comparing your phone model with build.prop on the targeted ROM. Because based on my experience, somehow i download LineageOS for d802 and flash it to my bacon. TWRP gives an error and didn't flash any firmware. I don't know about CWM or other recovery
2. I'm using Lineage OS. It's pretty good so far. No bug or whatever
3. TWRP is good for all ROM. i think any recovery will do
So I know this is the wrong area but s6 forums are dead so I was hoping someone could answer a question here. What I wanted to know was that I am on nougat right now and I was thinking of installing a custom rom that was a lower android version. I am rooted and know all the steps to do it but was unsure if that would brick it by having a different version on it. And in case you wonder why it is because I wanted to use unlimited hotspot and have not found a way to do so with nougat but many ways to do it on older versions plus I could use foxfi. So please no bashing just a guy looking for answers is all. Thank you for your time.
Last thing I am on metro pcs but it is a tmobile version. I also do the stock 6.0 version to flash it
Anyone
