[Q] Stable Roms for LG-P920 Optimus 3d? - LG Optimus 3D

is there a list of stable roms for LG-P920 (OPTIMUS 3D)?
i recently flashed King 3d ROM its a good firmware, i love the transitions, boosts, and other features.. but i had issues after that such as:
/widgets (when i set widgets,if rebooted, everything i put on it will be double copied 1st and 2nd windows will have the same widgets)
/time and date (if the phone was rebooted the date will be set into 1/1/2000 and time will be 12:00am)
/purchased items on market such as axcel drum, recieving messge like (this software isnt compatible with your device), when i flashed into this rom, some items i payed for,i cant download it anymore unlike the previous rom i have i can install almost everything from the market
/other downloadable apps i can download some apps but it force closes or automatic closes
/Saving Contacts whenever i save new contacts or replace, my phone hangs.. so i need to remove battery..
----i didnt make any back ups.. can someone give me a download link to lg-p920 stock rom?found link but they are uploaded on fileserve.. or is there any better rom to run on my phone?
From 2.2.2 Froyo(Stock)
>to Gingerbread 2.3.5(Rooted)
>then flashed king 3d rom
LG OPTIMUS 3D P920

Thiaiz o3d rom is amazing. Fast and verry stable. Look in development. Or shold i give you an link?
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda premium

Sure.. if you mind.
You must be using that rom. Have you tried king 3d rom? If you did can you make a comparison between those two? About performance,compatibility,features..

+1
(haven't used king3d although, but Thiaiz Rom + Thiaiz kernel is a VERY stable combination and quite fast).

Havnt heard about kernels. Is it flashable too? Does it make changes into the performance only?or with the appearance of the phone? Thanks in advance.

1. Yes, kernels are flashable.
2. Performance and other tweaks: antenna signal power, battery consumption, etc... (don't expect miracles however).
Look here (though unfortunately that kernel is unstable for me, is probably the most advanced):

thank you
i really appreciate your help..
my software version is:
LGP920-V21a

Have you done the 3 wipes in recovery?
If not:
-reboot and enter recovery,
-Wipe Data/Factory reset -> select yes (be warned: this erase your personal data, I suppose you did a backup first),
-Wipe Cache -> select yes,
-Advanced / Wipe Dalvik Cache -> select yes,
-reboot
Should work...
Good luck,

ive learned the basics.. i did that.. but thank god i solved my problem.. i flashed 2.7 that supports v21d, my present version is v21a.. got the wrong zip.. downloaded the other zip file 2.6.. and voila.. done.. thanks by the way bro

If you do "wipe data/factory reset", it wipes cache and dalvik-cache as well.
No need to do the other two wipes.

Does it? It's the first time I hear that. Most custom ROM developers in any phone I had, always recommend to wipe data/cache and some recommend to wipe dalvik as well.

thanks Amer! another great work from you. have been using your V4 for a while and will try this one later=)
Blue version is coming too I hope?
And do I really have to wipe everything?
How do I even wipe the ext partition with recovery?
V5 already.
So what are the biggest advantages of this rom above the V4???
The new HTC dialer? What's new about it? Or is it just the same dialer as the one added in the V4 rom (the one posted in the pictures you added?)

HI there mate
I am always confused when people say wipe all
can u just bullet point all the wipes we need to do if we have v3,v4 or v4.1?
(so many different wipe options i always get confused)
hi amer, but what's a difference with your version 4.1? only the color and any programm?
I'am very satisfied of your 4.1.... why not update it?..... or works on froyo rom?
thank you so much already
i have trouble with selecting ring tones all ringtones play the same sound some kind of rapid beeping .
also with following the instructions on the wipe , it puts you into a rebooting cycle ,if you wipe dalvik and sd ext it happens to me on every time i wipe them i have to repartion sd card to fix it.
im gona reinstall to see if it fix's it .
edit ; reinstalled all is good nice work as usual ameruxxh17 love your roms.
With 4.1 and probably also with this one, battery time is really great. It's faster and lasts significantly longer than with the stock ROM.
Really great work. For me, combined with LauncherPRO, it's by far the best ROM available. If you want a stable and reliable ROM and don't want to flash every other day because of a new bug (like in many 2. 2 ROMs, no offense to the other devs and experimental-friendly people!) , this is the way to go!
I really hope you keep up your work and also release a 2.2 ROM once the official, hopefully stable version is released.

[ROM] Zen-ROM Updated 08-30-2010.

This is is based on gsm Hero ROM RCMIX18. It's like the Legend build but faster so you get all the newest Sense goodies like:
Friendstream
News/RSS Widget
Enhanced text selector in the browser.
Downloadable Sense widgets
Internet Connection Sharing
Native live wallpapers in Sense
Shake the phone to see homescreen thumbnails
Everything should be working if you flashed the Main ROM and the update except whats noted below.
Rules and Stuff
The first rule of zenroms is you don't ask for ETA's
Using ZenKernel #2 clocked at 691 set to ondemand
Download Maps from the Market
No you can't update your PRL
Don't ask about Sprint Visual Voice Mail
Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobil networks will force close if you select it. It happens on every gsm sense port.
Don't post about how you flashed this and went back to your other rom.
I like cyanogenmod too.
If you want to help then post real bugs with logcats. Not some generic response like "X app force closed"
Don't ask for this or that option. Updates will come as time permits.
Whats the point?
Second rule of zenroms. There is no point
You need to be rooted and have a custom recovery installed
Nandroid in case you want to go back to your other rom
Wipe everything before flashing: data/cache/sd-ext
The update will auto wipe just in case you didn't
For more up to date info and downloads visit http://zenroms.com

I will probably check this out, downloading now.
You using it yourself zen?
EDIT: Flashing now, screenies soon.
Setting up the phone wizard was pretty nifty! Tethering verified as working, wifi verified as working, all my apps showed up in the market. Initial boot took 6 minutes. I like how the flash deleted everything in case somebody forgets. On a side note I like that theres a progress bar when you start up the phone. No questions of a boot loop here. Man this thing is running smooth! Ive uploaded screenies of the stock home settings.

If you are rooted then download ROM Manager from the market and use either the Clockword recovery or my personal favorite the Amon Ra recovery.
Dowloand the ROM to the root of your SD card (saved to the SD card but not in any folder).
Turn off your phone, then power on while holding the volume down button. Press the home button when you get to the white screen with the Fastboot and recovery options. Select backup and create a nandroid backup. Then select wipe and factory wipe your phone (you will lose all saved data and settings).
Once you've wiped the select the Flash option and flash the ROM. Once the flash is complete select the reboot option and you'll be rocking the ROM of your choice.
You can download Titanium backup to backup your apps and data. I highly suggest reinstalling on market apps from Titanium, you do not want to attempt to reinstall any system apps or data.

Just when you have me fall in love with one ROM, you release another...
(but seriously, you rock)
What makes this ROM so much faster? I don't have time to try it yet, but if it is that much faster I will definitely use it.
Also, does this framework allow custom themes (such as Espresso?)

I've been running this for about 2 hours, it FLYS! Not much delay in messaging app either plus you get the extra htc widgets. I'll definatly be using this for a while. After install still had 150 app space left and it isnt even odexed!
One quirk Zen if you could touch on this, my notification lights are a bit funky. ie I seen it blink once really fast but it stays off otherwise when getting a text message.
It is not a deal breaker for me though I'm keeping this bad boy on my phone for awhile. Thank you so much!!!!!
I'll try any Sense ROM once as long as it's nice and clean like this one I'm a Fresh guy myself but everyone does fantiastic stuff. Now if there was just an app for free cable...
*Don't post about how you flashed this and went back to your other rom. Nobody cares.
Classic Here's a dumb question.....what about JIT?
So if anyone has switched from the latest Zen-EXP(the mytouch 3g slide port) to this, how's it running in comparison?
I'm using EXP with noperflock kernel at 768 and it's flying, but if this is quicker I'll switch.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the point of this? I'm not complaining that we have more ROM options, but it's simply a question since it looks basically exactly like stock 2.1 imo. Is it because we can, and it's free?

Stock 2.1 doesn't have the improvements listed at the top.
Also, the legend port we had a long time ago was much faster than the Hero builds at the time, and the Aria builds are apparently faster.
So if you like faster and more featured builds, then you'll like this.
Flashing now, thanks Zip/Zen, I'll report how it's running.

Quick Question... and sorry for thinking about the future... Does this means that if AT&T shows some 2.2 Froyo on Aria... Can be ported to the Hero?

[ROM] [DEV] [V5] Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. [12/31]

HTC Aria Ice Cream Sandwich Port.
To turn on the wifi, click add network and type either the network name, or part of the name. This will make your network connectible. For some reason the browser will not work. But it IS connected to internet because I have installed the Gapps and i can connect to the market perfectly. Market downloads however do NOT work.
Is Calling/Texting/Mobile Data working? My aria will no longer connect to At&t network
Installing Launcher Pro makes this run allot smoother!
I've included a File Manager for installing apps
Working:
Touchscreen
Some calling/texting
Wi-fi
Bluetooth
Accelerometer
Audio
Home Key (Hold for built in app killer)
Not Working:
BROWSER!!!
HW Accel
And lots of other stuff

thats the kernel. I'm pretty sure we dimon2242 already has ics booted but doesnt want to realease until it is more stable.
It loaded and worked on my Aria.
Worked as in:
booted
I could navigate to settings
Apps showed up and "sorta" launched
Wifi, of course, didn't work.
Didn't try GPS.
Slow as molasses
VERY small font - fuzzy graphics
Reminded me of Windows Mobile with some of the menus
Restored previous CM7 without problems (the comment about bricking scared the @#$% out of me!)
here is my collection! if necessary, will create a mirror! yet almost nothing is working!
http://narod.ru/disk/32557370001/LibertyICSAlphaTest.zip.html
dimon2242, something you need to change
in the build.prop
Code:
# ro.build.product is obsolete; use ro.product.device
ro.build.product=hero
change hero to liberty (this should solved almost any problem)
and don't forget adreno 200
this build is compile for armeabi-v5te
look for build that compile for armeabi-v6

This is a pretty good start. It runs better than I expected for a first release (especially one like this). I had no problem restoring my nandroid backup after using this rom.
The Good/working:
- Ice Cream Sandwich
- It boots (approximately 3-5 minutes for first boot; a few seconds for future boots)
- Rooted!
- Touchscreen
- Fair speed for rom a like this (in early stages)
- Installation of apps - You have to sideload/restore apps (at first) since there is no market nor file manager pre-installed.
- Most apps
- Widgets & Animations
- Vibration
- Multi touch
- USB storage* (* You need this app for it to work: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.protocol.x.USB&hl=en)
- Image viewing with a different image viewer app (e.g. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tdfsoftware.fivfree&hl=en)
- Other minor things
The bad/not working :
- G-Sensor/Accelerometer
- Adreno GPU
- Video Playback
- Sound
- Camera and Gallery
- Wifi
- Bluetooth
- Other minor things (probably)

Well that's strange. I flashed this rom and then restored my nandroid backup after use without any problems whatsoever. Here's exactly what I did:
1. Made a nandroid backup
2. Wipe data/dalvik cache/cache partitions
3. Flash
4. Wipe dalvik cache/cache partitions
5. Reboot (from recovery)
It then booted up with no problem (approximately 2-3 minutes since it was the first boot. Other boots took about <45 seconds).

[Q] First ICS Flash - MHX Superlite 5.0

Hey,
I'm about to go to Superlite 5.0. I have only flashed once before on my Rogers 727R to SmoothIce that was GB based.
On the Superlite instructions it says nothing about flashing the modem, but other posts I have read say that you need an ICS modem...?
Can someone give me a hand with Steps?
Do i need to add anything to the instructions here:
.:: install guide ::..
Download superlite-5.0.zip
Reboot to Recovery
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Under Advanced "Wipe Dalvic Cache"
Under "Mounts and Storage" Select "Format /System"
Install superlite-5.0.zip from sdcard or internal sdcard
Rom is full wipe
Thanks for helping a noob
Just follow the directions he gives. He designed the rom. He knows how it should be installed. But read all the info in that thread first so you will know what to expect.
Just wanted to share also that I've flashed nearly all of the ICS roms now and given each a few days to see how they all run, and this Superlite really seems to be the most bug free for me. Sometimes it seems like even following install directions to the letter will still give different results for different people. Maybe there are so many little factors that can effect the outcome that it can have varied results but this ROM is really not giving me any issue with lag or freeze ups that a couple of the others did right off the bat.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
That's because MHX created a script that does a superwipe, flash modem, kernel, rom with one zip install package. Here's his change log: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24544803&postcount=883
Yeap he does a good job of cleaning the slate before install beings. This is what he does before it installs.
Code:
ui_print("SUPERLITE: formating /system");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p24", "/system");
delete_recursive("/system");
ui_print("SUPERLITE: formating /data");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p25", "/data");
delete_recursive("/data");
ui_print("SUPERLITE: formating /cache");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p26", "/cache");
delete_recursive("/cache");
mount("vfat", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p28", "/emmc");

Just wanted to say thanks. I would recommend that folks use Darkside Superwipe before flashing the ROM. It didn't work for me until I did.
The ROM looks great and runs smooth as butter. I am still having issues with the hotspot (seems to be a common issue) and the battery life isn't great.
But otherwise slick.

+1 for darkside wipe...........especially on ICS ROMs
Just have to say..
Battery life is not great for me. Running an exchange account I am getting about 10 - 12 hours to a charge.
On my GB system I was getting about 28 or 29 hours.
Feels like something is sucking up the battery. When I look at the battery usage it is blaming everything on the screen. But I haven't been staring longlingly at it or anything.
Ideas?
try using betterbatterystats. sounds like u have wakelock issues because of a rouge app
I downloaded bbs. Looked at the Partial Wavelocks. the two biggest users are AudioOut_1 @ 17% and show Keyguard at 14.8%
I realised this morning that I wasn't getting LTE. So I did the *#2263# fix.
Do you think that was causing battery drainage?
if u have poor lte reception, for sure. I suggest using the ics_rogers_base radio by leec, it will greatly helpbur reception and speed

Hey,
I'm about to go to Superlite 5.0. I have only flashed once before on my Rogers 727R to SmoothIce that was GB based.
On the Superlite instructions it says nothing about flashing the modem, but other posts I have read say that you need an ICS modem...?
Can someone give me a hand with Steps?
Do i need to add anything to the instructions here:
.:: install guide ::..
Download superlite-5.0.zip
Reboot to Recovery
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Under Advanced "Wipe Dalvic Cache"
Under "Mounts and Storage" Select "Format /System"
Install superlite-5.0.zip from sdcard or internal sdcard
Rom is full wipe
Thanks for helping a noob

yes you need to flash a modem. the GB roms use UCLA3, ICS seems to use UCLA4. Some people have had the note modem UCLA5 work for them (I had no such luck, resulted in a non-responsive ROM).
Coming from NexusMOD GB, this is what i did. i was running on CWM touch 5.8
Reboot into recovery
flash the UCLA4 modem
wipe data x2
wipe cahce x2
wipe dalvik x2
format system, data, cache x2
flash super wipe x2 just to be safe
flash superlite, it'll auto reboot
when it does, let it sit and dont touch it for a few minutes to let it settle.
this should work for you. afterwards, if you want, you can make a backup and try flashing UCLA5. some of the people in the thread had it succeed and they're getting better battery out of it.
edit: grab 5.1. it includes 3 patches including the AOSP browser and MMS. much better.
also, run supercharger v6 -> nitrolag nullifier and 1000HP settings. is awesome.
then go to your build.prop and add the tweaks from the thread in the general section

Or run team perfection rom, which has all that stuff buily in. MHX's rom are more for people who like touchwiz, and/or those who want an entirel stripped down base
Wicked - I was thinking about giving the Sky Ice Rom a try but I will also look at the Team Perfection. I'm going to give all this a try this evening.
Thanks for all the help. Really appreciate it.
Results?

Just curious what your results were? I am looking to hop into the ICS game too, as I just bought the skyrocket and am still on stock GB.
Thanks!
Treadlightly, I'm looking at installing either Superlite or Sky ICS this weekend.
I'm also on Rogers, still using gingerbread. I'm a bit nervous about this as some people who were early adopters on the leaked ICS were having trouble with Rogers phones.
I'm not seeing it now, but I'm still nervous. I'd sure appreciate a report after you flash Superlite.

By the way Treadlightly, don't forget to install CWM, you will need that, but once you do, make sure you do a backup using the backup menus that are a part of CWM. It will copy to the SD card or external SD. Copy the backup file to your hard drive before starting the install of ICS.
That's called a Nandroid backup. So if things get screwed up, you can always recover with that backup. Also you may want to use Titanium backup to backup all your user data, so that it can be re-installed, using Titanium Backup, once you've done the upgrade to ICS. Again, you will want to make sure the data is backed up either to your External SD, or even safer, on your hard drive.
Don't back up and restore system programs and files, just third party stuff, contacts, calendar etc.

[TOUCHRECOVERY][22 Nov 2012] Official Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) v2.3.2

TWRP 2.3.2.0 with on-screen keyboard!
Team Win Recovery Project 2.3.2, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Note from me:
- idk who compiled v2.3.2, i couldn't find it, but it's there available.
- i'll keep monitoring this thread for saga, and if necessarily i'll compile new builds.

CHANGELOG
Code:
[B]What's new in 2.3.2.0:
[/B]Fixes / enhancements to handle the multiple user setup introduced by Android 4.2 (see notes)
Fixed a bug with deleting a backup with a space in the name
Added highlights on keyboard key presses
[B]What's new in 2.3.1.0:
[/B]Unmount system after boot to prevent some status 7 symlink failed errors on zip install
USB Mass Storage code improvements
Better handling of mounting storage during boot for some devices
Fixed a problem with sizes of images (boot & recovery) after resetting defaults
Fixed size errors during backup for some devices on recovery, etc.
Fixed a problem with restoring backups when multiple archives were present
[B]What's new in 2.3.0.0:[/B]
Rebased onto AOSP Jelly Bean source code
Rewrote backup, restore, wipe, and mount code in C++ classes for easier maintenance going forward
NOTE: backups from prior versions of TWRP are still compatible with 2.3
ADB sideload functionality from AOSP is included in 2.3, see this link for more info
Re-wrote fix permissions entirely in C++ and runs in a few seconds instead of a few minutes (thanks to bigbiff)
Improvements to zip finding in OpenRecoveryScript (should be a lot fewer GooManager automation issues)
Faster boot times
Added charging indicator while in recovery (only updates once every 60 seconds)
DOWNLOAD:
The fastest and easiest way to install TWRP is to use the GooManager app:
Play Store Link
Direct Download
- launch the app
- allow root
- press menu button and click install OpenRecovery
You can find more information and download links on our website!

Another Great One.. Looking Forward To Try It..
@ djpbx.. Keep It Up Buddy !
- EDIT -
Downloaded the Theme Reference ZIP.. Will make one when I am Free..
I like the layout ..
Here's A Guide On Making Themes : Click Me
Very nice! This is definitely one of the best alongside 4EXT. CWM has to step up their game!
Interesting, I'll try it now Great work djpbx
Great, more to choose from! A bit offtopic, but this Dumlock thing, I've read about this replacing hboot with recovery, so when you boot your phone after that as usual, it still boots in recovery as hboot is now actual recovery. And that it allows to flash another hboot then. Could this be used to s-off a 2.x phone that's now s-on? I know I can downgrade and use revolutionary for 0.98 but could this work for 2.00.0002?
[edit]
never mind, I'm an idiot. s-on is a hardware-thingie, even if 'just' flashing a hboot would work it would still be s-on. Might be possible to use this to easily move between 0.98 and 2.00 hboot's though.
[/edit]
tried it. It was ok, but feel the UI isnt my taste and feel. So ive went back to 4ext touch. Also not sure if its added already but didnt see any option to Full wipe everything except SD card which is usefull. Ill probbly come back to it once its improved a bit more, or The UI ever gets a nicer feel to it
but nice to know i dont only have the option of 4ext (Clockworkmod just isnt up to scratch in my opinion)
v2.2 is up and now with official support!
Enjoy!!!

How can i install files via goomanager?
I download the file and then nothing happens
Written in bad english with my HTC Desire S
Open GooManager, open menu, choose Install OpenRecoveryScript. Choose yes, and make sure on the next screen shows img name, with (saga) in it. Thats the right one for HTC Desire S.

if you came from a different rom do a full wipe
or if you just update the same rom three (e.q.: IceColdSandwich 8.2 to 8.3)
only wipe cache and dalvik.
cheers,

man, if you use 4ext recovery use option to FORMAT ALL PARTITIONS except SD card (FAT). that's enough.

in TWRP there's no boot wipe. which comes out handy sometimes for HTC devices. new ROMs overwrite it though. lol i usually dont wipe boot and never have problems.
This is not 4EXT!
This should be the correct way of wiping in TWRP

I wipe system, then cache and then dalvik. No need factory reset as wipe system delete the old rom for good.
