HTC Aria Ice Cream Sandwich Port.
To turn on the wifi, click add network and type either the network name, or part of the name. This will make your network connectible. For some reason the browser will not work. But it IS connected to internet because I have installed the Gapps and i can connect to the market perfectly. Market downloads however do NOT work.
Is Calling/Texting/Mobile Data working? My aria will no longer connect to At&t network
Installing Launcher Pro makes this run allot smoother!
I've included a File Manager for installing apps
Working:
Touchscreen
Some calling/texting
Wi-fi
Bluetooth
Accelerometer
Audio
Home Key (Hold for built in app killer)
Not Working:
BROWSER!!!
HW Accel
And lots of other stuff

Not sure. Where I live I don't get cell reception... So I use wifi to call and text. Ill have to revert back to cm7 sadly until they fix wifi =o
thats the kernel. I'm pretty sure we dimon2242 already has ics booted but doesnt want to realease until it is more stable.
It loaded and worked on my Aria.
Worked as in:
booted
I could navigate to settings
Apps showed up and "sorta" launched
Wifi, of course, didn't work.
Didn't try GPS.
Slow as molasses
VERY small font - fuzzy graphics
Reminded me of Windows Mobile with some of the menus
Restored previous CM7 without problems (the comment about bricking scared the @#$% out of me!)
here is my collection! if necessary, will create a mirror! yet almost nothing is working!
http://narod.ru/disk/32557370001/LibertyICSAlphaTest.zip.html
dimon2242, something you need to change
in the build.prop
Code:
# ro.build.product is obsolete; use ro.product.device
ro.build.product=hero
change hero to liberty (this should solved almost any problem)
and don't forget adreno 200
this build is compile for armeabi-v5te
look for build that compile for armeabi-v6
Hello.
The ARMv5 is not a problem on thr Wildfire it works. You must only change to armeabiv6j. Or anything other in the build.prop.
Has you bricked your phone??

I know that not a problem but armeabi-v6 is highly recommended and optimized for msm7227 processor (600 Mhz processor with adreno 200)
I wanna try but I don't want to brick my phone. I'll wait till there's a more stable version. Cheers on getting it to work though.
This is a pretty good start. It runs better than I expected for a first release (especially one like this). I had no problem restoring my nandroid backup after using this rom.
The Good/working:
- Ice Cream Sandwich
- It boots (approximately 3-5 minutes for first boot; a few seconds for future boots)
- Rooted!
- Touchscreen
- Fair speed for rom a like this (in early stages)
- Installation of apps - You have to sideload/restore apps (at first) since there is no market nor file manager pre-installed.
- Most apps
- Widgets & Animations
- Vibration
- Multi touch
- USB storage* (* You need this app for it to work: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.protocol.x.USB&hl=en)
- Image viewing with a different image viewer app (e.g. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tdfsoftware.fivfree&hl=en)
- Other minor things
The bad/not working :
- G-Sensor/Accelerometer
- Adreno GPU
- Video Playback
- Sound
- Camera and Gallery
- Wifi
- Bluetooth
- Other minor things (probably)
Did a backup, wiped everything on my phone, installed this rom. It puts me into hboot menu every time I try to boot the pone. Ah well...back to CM7 until details get sorted out.
Good start guys...can't wait to see this develop!

Well that's strange. I flashed this rom and then restored my nandroid backup after use without any problems whatsoever. Here's exactly what I did:
1. Made a nandroid backup
2. Wipe data/dalvik cache/cache partitions
3. Flash
4. Wipe dalvik cache/cache partitions
5. Reboot (from recovery)
It then booted up with no problem (approximately 2-3 minutes since it was the first boot. Other boots took about <45 seconds).

this ROM may not be for you.
::: SD Setup :::
Swap
Fat
ext - optional - only has Froyo app2sd
::: TO INSTALL :::
- Do whatever you do for backing up, example: nandroid
- Wipe with this method:
---- While USB plugged to the computer,
---- run the bat in this post and format this way:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6855422&postcount=3
---- to ensure full format, I also use AmonRa recovery wipe options
---- just to be safe
---- If you are comfortable in ADB, then just use it to run this command:
adb shell mount -a; rm -rf /system/*; rm -rf /data/*; rm -rf /cache/*;
---- You can skip the bat file if you do this
- Flash ROM ONLY
- Reboot Device
- After that, change whatever settings you would like. DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING.
- Just Setup CM settings, wifi, etc (optional)
---- I like to enable wifi and put in my network key
---- so my wifi is going when the market begins
---- to sync my apps
- Reboot Recovey
- Flash GAPPS
- Reboot
- Unlock after reboot and you will be prompted with the Google sign in.
---- After unlock, I usually plug it in, have wifi enabled,
---- set it up under 'USB Debugging' to "stay awake when plugged in"
---- and leave it alone for a bit. This way, you aren't stressing out your system
---- while the market is downloading 100 apps at once lol
---- This is also why I reboot and setup PRIOR to installing gapps.
---- A reboot or three may be needed to ensure everything is settled in nicely
---- If you are wondering where your responsiveness is, look at your downloads
---- in the market, see if you are still syncing. If you reboot during some downloads,
---- you may need to cancel and restart them.
Fully Tested on my G1.
Current Phone Specs:
- Danger SPL
- G1-radio-2_22_23_02
- Dithering OFF (CM Options)

I knew I wasn't the only one who didn't want all the other junk!
Hey marlo, I have a problem. I've never modded my g1 before and decided to do this rom first off. I went back and rooted it and then installed amon ra recovery and did radio update to 2.22 and danger spl.
I flashed your rom through recovery and it booted up fine the first three times but for some reason now it wont stop rebooting. It gets to the home screen, "press menu(my bad) 'swipe' to unlock", for about a second or two and then screen fades as if I did a battery pull. Then boots right back up.
I'm going to try some things when i get home, in recovery, when I wipe before install, am I suppossed to wipe all options in that sub menu? Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you and all others in advance.
Alright still having the same problem. I loaded in recovery and wiped everything except the sdcard partition, which I dont have my sdcard partitioned, so I didnt want to do it and wipe my rom zip.
After wiping everything else I reflashed the rom from sd. And rebooted from recovery. Rom loaded up great and worked perfect on first boot for about an hour until I decided to reboot it to make sure everything was working great and it started again.
Will load up to "swipe to unlock" and once its done preparing sd card it fades like I did a batt pull. Help, please?
Ok, sorry I wasn't following forum rules. I didn't know the meaning of the term "search". I spent a good 45 straight minutes searching just now as well as searching earlier today, but you guys are right, it pays off. I had wifi on, and only after a reboot would it go into the wifi reboot bug because on first launch with no wifi on it would connect without rebooting.
Hey marlo, I have some questions about this build and about a stripped down version of android to run games. Answer on here if you like, but I'll PM you about it.
Sorry for the delay. Your bug may have something to do with cyanogen, or what I removed. CM has been known to do similar things.
I never experienced your scenario, but I'm not saying I doubt you.
Games ran fine for me, I played robo defense all the time.
Thanks for trying my version of CM.

Great Job
Great job Marlo. I like what you did with the Mod. Without all other stuff on there my battery last longer. Now i can add the .apk that i want.
This is is based on gsm Hero ROM RCMIX18. It's like the Legend build but faster so you get all the newest Sense goodies like:
Friendstream
News/RSS Widget
Enhanced text selector in the browser.
Downloadable Sense widgets
Internet Connection Sharing
Native live wallpapers in Sense
Shake the phone to see homescreen thumbnails
Everything should be working if you flashed the Main ROM and the update except whats noted below.
Rules and Stuff
The first rule of zenroms is you don't ask for ETA's
Using ZenKernel #2 clocked at 691 set to ondemand
Download Maps from the Market
No you can't update your PRL
Don't ask about Sprint Visual Voice Mail
Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobil networks will force close if you select it. It happens on every gsm sense port.
Don't post about how you flashed this and went back to your other rom.
I like cyanogenmod too.
If you want to help then post real bugs with logcats. Not some generic response like "X app force closed"
Don't ask for this or that option. Updates will come as time permits.
Whats the point?
Second rule of zenroms. There is no point
You need to be rooted and have a custom recovery installed
Nandroid in case you want to go back to your other rom
Wipe everything before flashing: data/cache/sd-ext
The update will auto wipe just in case you didn't

I will probably check this out, downloading now.
You using it yourself zen?
EDIT: Flashing now, screenies soon.
Setting up the phone wizard was pretty nifty! Tethering verified as working, wifi verified as working, all my apps showed up in the market. Initial boot took 6 minutes. I like how the flash deleted everything in case somebody forgets. On a side note I like that theres a progress bar when you start up the phone. No questions of a boot loop here. Man this thing is running smooth! Ive uploaded screenies of the stock home settings.

If you are rooted then download ROM Manager from the market and use either the Clockword recovery or my personal favorite the Amon Ra recovery.
Dowloand the ROM to the root of your SD card (saved to the SD card but not in any folder).
Turn off your phone, then power on while holding the volume down button. Press the home button when you get to the white screen with the Fastboot and recovery options. Select backup and create a nandroid backup. Then select wipe and factory wipe your phone (you will lose all saved data and settings).
Once you've wiped the select the Flash option and flash the ROM. Once the flash is complete select the reboot option and you'll be rocking the ROM of your choice.
You can download Titanium backup to backup your apps and data. I highly suggest reinstalling on market apps from Titanium, you do not want to attempt to reinstall any system apps or data.

Also, does this framework allow custom themes (such as Espresso?)

I've been running this for about 2 hours, it FLYS! Not much delay in messaging app either plus you get the extra htc widgets. I'll definatly be using this for a while. After install still had 150 app space left and it isnt even odexed!
One quirk Zen if you could touch on this, my notification lights are a bit funky. ie I seen it blink once really fast but it stays off otherwise when getting a text message.
It is not a deal breaker for me though I'm keeping this bad boy on my phone for awhile. Thank you so much!!!!!
I'll try any Sense ROM once as long as it's nice and clean like this one I'm a Fresh guy myself but everyone does fantiastic stuff. Now if there was just an app for free cable...
*Don't post about how you flashed this and went back to your other rom. Nobody cares.
Classic Here's a dumb question.....what about JIT?
So if anyone has switched from the latest Zen-EXP(the mytouch 3g slide port) to this, how's it running in comparison?
I'm using EXP with noperflock kernel at 768 and it's flying, but if this is quicker I'll switch.

Stock 2.1 doesn't have the improvements listed at the top.
Also, the legend port we had a long time ago was much faster than the Hero builds at the time, and the Aria builds are apparently faster.
So if you like faster and more featured builds, then you'll like this.
Flashing now, thanks Zip/Zen, I'll report how it's running.

Well, after a break, a lot of new OTA updates and such, and a lot of patience from most of you...here it is! I apologize for the wait and hope you find this release worth it. I still have to upload pics and such, they will be here soon.
I consider this still to be a Beta (have yet to find anything on it that does not work) but you can use this as a daily driver because (like all the other Azrael ROMS before it) it is a modified OTA. Please enjoy, will update this first post soon to reflect more of the changed in the ROM.

To install on your Evo:
1. Copy the ROM zip file to the root of your SD card.
2. Shut off your phone and boot into recovery.
3. Do a full wipe (Data, cache, Dalvik, SD Ext.) Do it twice to be sure if you want to!
4. Install the ROM. It should take a few minutes to install.
5. Reboot the phone. It should take a long time to start up the first time. Please be patient!
6. If all goes well, enjoy your new ROM!
7. If not, start over from step 2 after pulling your battery.
To install a custom kernel: Let it boot all the way into the ROM first and then reboot into recovery and wipe the cache and Dalvik. Then install the custom kernel and reboot. DO NOT install any MODS without letting the ROM load up without any addons first!
To install a theme: Let it boot all the way into the ROM first, then reboot into recovery and wipe the cache and Dalvik. Then install the theme and reboot.
How to backup and restore using Titanium backup Here is the method I use to backup my phone information before I wipe and install a new ROM
I backup my entire phone with a batch "Backup all user apps + system data"
Wipe and install the new ROM,
I open Titanium Backup (TB) and give it super user rights.
I hit "Updates?" in TB and make sure I am running the latest.
I hit "Problems?" in TB and make sure I am using Busybox 1.60
Hit menu and select batch
Select "Backup all new apps + newer versions of apps", if any.
Select "Restore missing apps with data"
Go over the list and make sure you are restoring only what you want
Hit run batch operation
After it completes, go back into TB and backup restore.
Restore contacts twice
Restore MMS twice
Restore Mail twice
If any of the 3 above do not take, do it again
Restart your phone
Verify mail, MMS, and contacts restored. If not, restore again.
Why Amon RA and not Clockwork recovery?
Clockwork does not wipe the Dalvik properly (if at all). I personally have had nothing but problems with both Clockwork and ROM manager
I have said countless times that if you use either of the above, it is at your own risk. Install Amon RA recovery and I bet any wiping/installing problems will go away.
If you already are using ROM manager, pick the option to install a custom recovery, choose Amon RA 1.8. If that option is greyed out, reinstall the latest Clockwork then install RA.
Note: Do not do a fix permissions with anything unless you need to, you can screw stuff up that way.
Trust me, the new ROM is devoid of problems (I have never tested a ROM this much before releasing it). If you experience any, it is either something you are doing wrong or incomplete wipes thanks to your recovery not doing it's job properly.
Which kernels work with this ROM?
Any that are designed for a Sense ROM. This includes:
Netarchy's
Kingclick's
Hero Over's
Ziggy's
HTC's
Which kernel do you recommend to use?
I cannot recommend a kernel for you because each EVO reacts different. The best for my phone can be the worse for yours.
You have to try the different ones available and pick the one that works best for you. What I do is start with their latest and work your way down until you find one that works well. Then stick with it.
This also goes for overclocking, SetCPU settings, etc.
With the new Hardware 0004 Evo phones, a custom kernel may or may not break the camera and video recording features. Make sure to test them before you head out.
Which themes work with this ROM?
Themes make your phone look nice but can also add problems to an otherwise smooth running ROM. You can use any theme you wish, but Nandroid first and if anything is broken, please do not blame the ROM as it is the theme that added the problem.
You definitely need to install a theme that works with a Gingerbread based ROM. DO NOT load an older theme (for older OTA's, for example 3.70, 3.30 or 3.29) as the framework files are different.
Always Nandroid before using a custom theme. Once you load up the theme, verify no problems are present that were not there before you installed the theme. If there is, keep the theme and either live with the problem, or fix it if you can. If not,be sure to let the maker of that particular theme aware that it is not working with Azrael ROM. They may be glad to help and you are helping them make their theme more compatible.

3.30.651.2 (and subsequently 3.30.651.3) is 100% designed for newer Evo manufactured in November.
These Evos are hardware number 0004 and have a different camera chip and some other changes to the framework of the ROMS to accommodate this new hardware. HTC threw us ROM makers a curve ball!
You can use 3.30.XXX.X on an older Evo, but you can experience the following problems (some of which I personally witnessed on my own 0003 Evo):
Fast battery drain
3rd party camera apps having trouble working
Speed descreased a bit. (My new Azrael ROM is faster than my new Omega ROM on my phone, though they are identical besides the base).

Ahhhh! And I was just going to ask you ric why the base change, my Evo is hardware #0003 too.
I have heard of reports of 0003 having the new camera chip
Has the 3.30 base been definitely pinpointed as the cause of the rapid battery drain? I trust you and your Rom that's why I am using it. I only ask because it seems as most devs here have updated their Rom to the new base and was curious what in the build would cause this? Thanks.

Hi!
I don't quite know how to start ;o) so...
This ROM is compiled from CyanogenMod 6, AOSP, Ezterry's and mine source code repositories . This ROM is not repackaged, moded, ripped, stripped, whatever version of any other ROM available on the Net.
Overview:
- 2.6.36.4 kernel from @Ezterry
- Native Apps2SdExt (also called Magpie) with Effdee fix (this also contains fix to pm/pm.jar used by f.ex. Titanium Backup when restoring app)
- xVold - mounts SdExt partition (if it exists) with data 2 SdExt
- Poor man SetCPU (as known from f.ex. Froyo by Laszlo) with safety valve logic by @hrk (CPU OC settings are not restored when phone crashes; you can safely try to push your CPU to the limit)
- CA Certs without compromised Diginotar keys
- CACertManager from Guardian Project
- long click on PowerWidget icon launches Settings (backport of CM7 feature)
- black bar theme (most of gfx were taken from @Sisterchick's themes but if you see your gfx used please let me know so I can give proper credits)
- uses AnyKernel so should boot on 2708/EBI0/EBI1 devices (tested only on 2708)
- stock Froyo Launcher (aka Launcher2)
- can use Swap or Compcache (both disabled by default and I don't really see the point of using any of them)
- no Gapps
2011.10.06 updates:
- Firerat's cache management ;o) script in /etc/init.d (https://gist.github.com/1182265)
- updated APN list
- Superuser 3.0 (upgradable via Market; please consider buying Elite version to show @ChainsDD some support)
Backports from CM7:
- RotaryRevamped, Lense and Ring lockscreen styles (Phone ui follows lockscreen style)
- Battery percentage on Lockscreen
- Restrict system packages to protected storage (this is security fix)
2011.10.13 updates:
- fixed bug in Phone app that caused crash when dpi setting were anything but 160
- fixed bug in Phone app that caused on screen Accept/Decline buttons not always show up
- Compcache/Swap is working again (note that activating/deactivating need reboot)
- Camera app with DCIM patch courtesy of @hrk
Known bugs/misfeatures:
The ROM runs perfectly OK without Ext partition. Only drawback is requester that pops up informing about unmountable SD card. What it's not telling is that only Ext partition is unmountable
No DCIM patch in Camera app this time (patch is against GB sources and I had no time to fix this; It's not hard just need time =o( This patch will make it into next release, sorry.
Apps2SdExt in this ROM is implemented at framework (system) level. Please do not use any scripts/apps that deal with applications installed on SdExt. Each and every application can be moved to and from SdExt using "Manage applications" under Settings. At some point in time I might add way to mass-move applications between SdExt, Internal and SdFat storages.

First install instruction:
1. Boot into Recovery
2. Make a backup.
3. Wipe all and everything (including SdExt)
4. Flash zip
5. Flash GApps
6. Reboot
Installing updates:
1. Boot into Recovery
2. Make a backup
3. Flash zip
4. Reboot
(I do my best so that all updates are of no-wipe type)
On first boot give the Dream some 10 - 20 minutes to settle.
Enjoy the ROM =o)
Credits:
CyanogenMod Team - this ROM wouldn't exist without them and I'd be stuck on Dounts =o)
Firerat - without him I'd never dig that deep in the Android code
Ezterry - always helpful and all that excelent work on kernels and GB for D/S
Sisterchick - your themes are great (hope you don't mind taking some gfx from them)
hrk - always helpful and skilled coder
And special thanks to all those who made Android the way it is now =o)
Sounds good! Will try it someday if i have spare time
I'll try it, will download when I have a chance.

I used CyanogenMod 6 MDPI 20110501 from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version#Google_Apps
I think that is the newest gapps pack for 2.2 Dream. Market is updating to 3.1.5 after first market open.
EDIT:
Anyone has a problem with random restarts?
I'm looking for a Stable ROM for my Brother, he's taking control of my OG G1 I like the settings back port. Nice touch, I'll check it out when my phone isn't needed.
thanks for this new modded cyanogen rom.flashed, booted and running normal.
love the honesty of it too, Nameless Froyo, laughed a lilwhen I saw the boot screen xD
OKKIE! D/L and flashed last night. Looking good at first glance. I love it.
Niceee! on the move apps to SDExt/SDCard options. Now I get to move everything to SDExt.
59MB Internal spaces free? WOW! I am loving this , still got that and more even after about 5 - 6 apps installed. Usually I ran out of room by now and had to decide which apps I want to keep.
GGRRRR! Just got my first reboot (just now). I hate when that happens. Got to figure out why it does that.....
Wifi, Bluetooth works well.
Network connection even works in the building at my office. (cool) I get a constant signal finally (well not it about 85% stable)
Overall the system seem to run pretty fast, we'll see how it deal with my usage...
Battery life with wifi on, and used not so good. But I guess that's how it is. I am used to constantly keeping it charged up anyway, so no worry there for me.
just started getting reboots. 3 in last 15 minutes.must find problem.
ok' ran this thing all day at work with no more reboots. don't know why they just stopped.lol

WOW! Did you ever got to the lock screen at all?
What SPL/radio do you have?
---------- Post added at 11:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 AM ----------
WOOHOOO! With thinning out the apps that I don't need, my internal spaces went up to 66MB, with 9 apps extra apps already installed.
Still running as fast as the first boot up. So far so good.
All those that have probs with random reboots pleas try flashing kernel from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14768272&postcount=2427
Theoretically they are the same (same sources were used) but Ezterry uses GB toolchain to compile and that might be the diff.
@Eutherin well you could as well hook G1 to some usb cable and grab logcat for me, right?
If you want to report a bug/bootloop/etc at least try to grab a logcat. This will help solve probs.
The reason for this User Thread is so that we can keep the development thread clean. Post in the development thread only if you have something useful to contribute such as a logcat, or any dev-related comments. Post any suggestions, bug reports, questions or comments about the rom in this thread,
What's working and what's not?
Working:
Camera - Yes, this means Camcorder also works! 1080P Video shooting and playback work great.
Bluetooth
WiFi
Audio
SD Card Storage
Battery Meter
And of course Hardware Acceleration!
Not Working:
RIL (Mobile Network) - This means no calls, no SMS, no Data, no anything related to the functions of your SIM Card! T-Mobile WiFi Calling also doesn't work.
Information On Dual Booting Roms
Since we currently have an issue with the network radio on our CM10 roms, most people will not be able to use this rom as a daily driver, and would prefer to stay on a fully functioning GB rom. This dual booting method lets us have the best of both worlds! You can have a buttery smooth and fast CM10 rom for enjoying all of Android Jellybean 4.2.1 goodies and a fully function Gingerbread rom when ever you need to make a call and such. For now, this is the best we can do. It's simple and very fast to switch between roms. What else could you ask for? ;D
Installation Instructions Including Dual Booting
DISCLAIMER
I (WE) AM NOT RESPONSIBLE of any damages to your device related to the use of this ROM or the dualboot toolkit. You do this at your own risk. Even though this has been tested and works well, using NVFLASH may brick your device if done incorrectly.
This ROM comes in two flavours: The dualboot toolkit or the Original flashable ROM
Dualboot ROM Instructions
WARNING! NVFLASH will format EVERYTHING, including internalSD. Make sure you backup your important files on your externalSD card
PART 1 - Resizing system partition
1) Unzip the dualboot toolkit and unzip NVFLASH_Resizer-G2X.zip.
2) Power off your phone and remove the battery. Keep vol. up and vol. down held and plug the phone via USB to a WINDOWS computer.
3) Windows should add an "APX driver". Go to control panel -> Device manager and right click on it -> Update driver -> search in system. Then, browse to the drivers folder inside the NVFLASH package and choose nvidiausb.inf. Approve any error messages (Windows 8 users read my FAQ). Install the Nvidia Fastboot driver.
4) Unplug your phone and hold down vol.up and vol.down. Replug it again and double click on flash.bat inside the NVFLASH folder. KEEP BOTH BUTTONS HELD DOWN DURING THE WHOLE PROCESS!.
5) When NVFLASH is done, unplug the phone and put back the battery. Reboot into recovery with power + vol. down. Plug it back and go to mounts and storage -> mount USB storage. If your PC asks to format the internal SD card, select yes.
PART 2 - Installing ROMS
1) Download the desired "call/SMS" ROM and extract boot.img from it's flashable zip. Rename it to boot1.img. Extract Step3_bootimg.zip from the dualboot toolkit and copy-paste boot1.img into system/boot, replacing the file that is already there. Repack Step3_bootimg.zip.
2) Copy-paste your desired ROM into the 0dualboot folder and send it to your device SDcard with everything it contains (your device should already be in the "mount USB storage" menu).
3) From the recovery, flash Step1_enabler.zip. When the screen goes black, hold power + vol. down to get back into recovery.
4) Flash your desired ROM, then Step2_ROM1.zip. Reboot to the OS.
5) You should have a Systemchanger app. Open it, click on "Switching" and give root permissions. When the screen goes black (again...), hold power + vol. down to get into recovery.
6) Flash ROM2.zip and Step3_Bootimg.zip and reboot in the OS
And there you go! To switch from one OS to another, just open the systemchanger app and click on "switching"!
Credits to bihariel for the original method. See the original thread here.
Original flashable zip ROM instructions
1) Boot into recovery with power + vol. down
2) Wipe data/cache, then mounts and storage -> format system
3) Flash this ROM
4) Advanced -> Wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions
5) Reboot and enjoy!
Special trick : In settings, go to About phone and click 6 times on Build number. This will pop up the developer and performances options. In performances options, CPU settings, change the governor from INTERACTIVE to SMARTASSV2.

Mazout Kernel on Stock 2.3.4
I flashed Mazout360's GB kernel over kwes' rooted 2.3.4/March 2012 basebannd. Was running pretty smooth, but had some problems
> Bluetooth icon at top of screen did not turn off "connected" status when I turned off my headset (BlueAnt q2.1)
> Had a few freezes. Installed SetCPU to keep max speed at 1015MHz but still some stops. Some out of nowhere, some in the middlle of doing stuff
> Finally started shutting down often. Tried to get a terminal emulator from the Market, but Market started crashing, even after several reboots. Could not get a kmsg to send.
Reinstalled my nandroid. No time at the moment to play more, need my phone reliable for some days to come. Hope lots of people try this kernel out and that I get more time with it. Nice to have new Dev activity for the G2x.

Micro SD card not detected
I was following along the steps and everything was going well until step 5 in part 1. when i rebooted my phone into recovery and pulged it into the PC nothing happened even though i followed exactly what the steps say, then i continued on and everything was going well until the end, where i found out that i couldn't get the data that I backed up to my Micro SD card because the phone doesn't see it.

hello,
I have dualboot now with hellfire2.4.2 and cm10 mazout's. So one is cm 7 and the other one is cm 10, I want to flash kernel but how? If I flash cm7 kernel will it block the cm10 rom or vice-versa?

If you flash another ROM, you have to flash the corresponding stepX....zip file right after before rebooting, else you won't have the dualboot app.
Since android 4.2.2 just got out, I'll wait until it gets stable and make my upcoming build out of it For now, my phone battery doesn't work very well so I can't really test anything until I get a new one.
Hey. I got everything to work and am dualbooting nicely. My problem is kernel. I flashed a recent CM7 with this and everything went fine. Then I went to install the most recent CM7 kernel from Maz (the OC) and that works until I switch to Rom2 and back. Then the wifi gets an error and wont do anything. The kernel wont stick. Did I miss something?
Also, last night went to bed with my phone charging and when I woke up my phone was burning hot. Had Max OC at 1100.
Thanks! Works great having a taste of 4.2.1 and a phone!

thank you, I see the problem now, and two question more; do I have to redo PART 1 - Resizing system partition everytime when I install different rom combinations or reinstall same roms and does that Resizing system partition harmful/useless or slows down the phone IF I only use 1 ROM?
I'm considering the dual boot, but want to know if it's possible to go back to single boot if/[hopefully] when radio is fixed. I suppose it'll be a matter of using original nvflash and format to have only one partition?
*edit1* Ok, now I'm getting my toes wet with this. fastboot.bin...what am I doing with this? The instructions say "install NVidia fast boot." Ok, but how? Or, has it already been installed with APX? I'm confused.
*edit2* ok I have dual boot! Wow this is interesting. Been running it through different combinations of reboots through system changer, and it seems when I update gb to the latest mazkrnl it won't stick after switching to jb and back again.
Do I need to use the boot.img from the kernel and repack it into step3?

You need to flash a kernel. I am having the same problem, but flashing a kernel after switching back to GB fixes everything

So, you mean that after using system switcher app, do power+vol up and flash kernel? Because any time I've tried that it only works on the first instance when i boot into gb. Once i go to jb and back again, the kernel goes back to stock. I'll try again though. Maybe fix permissions too!

When you system switch back to GB, reboot back into recovery and flash a kernel. I wouldn't say it goes back to stock because if it did there wouldn't be a wifi error like that. But for some reason JB works fine nothing wrong I have seen yet, though I just noticed I don't have a camera/gallery.
After switching back and forth so much I just flash the kernel and don't do anything else because nothing has seemingly changed if I wipe anything or fix anything.
If Maz has answer for this I would be much appreciated or anyone else for that matter.

Edit: figured it out. A new boot1.img does need to get made with the new kernel already installed.
I created a new boot.img per the instructions on the original dual boot for p990 thread with maz kernel. Then I repacked step3_bootimg. Reflashed rom2 and the step3, then voila! So, you have to redo a couple steps if you want to update one rom's kernel.
Pic no longer related.
guys im having some trouble, when i go to the systemchanger app and grant permission instead of the screen going blank it gets stuck on a screen with two lg logos.
i think i havent installed the fastboot drivers correctly. i assumed it gets installed when i run flash.bat, but it may need to be installed seperately. if it needs to be installed how do i do it cause its just a .bin file and i have no idea what to do with it
