Azrael X v5.0
Well, after a break, a lot of new OTA updates and such, and a lot of patience from most of you...here it is! I apologize for the wait and hope you find this release worth it. I still have to upload pics and such, they will be here soon.
I consider this still to be a Beta (have yet to find anything on it that does not work) but you can use this as a daily driver because (like all the other Azrael ROMS before it) it is a modified OTA. If you do happen to have any problems with it, please let me know. A more finalized version will be coming out soon but I am using this as my daily driver and working flawlessly for me thus far.
Please enjoy, will update this first post soon to reflect more of the changed in the ROM.
Note: I highly recommend a full wipe (Data, cache, Dalvik, and SD:Ext) before installing. If not, enjoy your gamble!

PLEASE NOTE: I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device. This includes acts of God, your wife/girlfriend breaking it over your head for using it too much, or jealous iPhone owners!
I hope you like, please provide feedback to me and let me know what you think! Please also rate the thread and if you like my work (or even feel like I do not know what the hell I am doing) let me know! I will consider any suggestions but I of course cannot/will not implement everything. But, if your suggestion makes sense, I will definitely take it and see what I can do!

Azrael X v5.0 by Ricsim78

To install on your Evo:
1. Copy the ROM zip file to the root of your SD card.
2. Shut off your phone and boot into recovery.
3. Do a full wipe (Data, cache, Dalvik, SD Ext.) Do it twice to be sure if you want to!
4. Install the ROM. It should take a few minutes to install.
5. Reboot the phone. It should take a long time to start up the first time. Please be patient!
6. If all goes well, enjoy your new ROM!
7. If not, start over from step 2 after pulling your battery.
To install a custom kernel: Let it boot all the way into the ROM first and then reboot into recovery and wipe the cache and Dalvik. Then install the custom kernel and reboot. DO NOT install any MODS without letting the ROM load up without any addons first!
To install a theme: Let it boot all the way into the ROM first, then reboot into recovery and wipe the cache and Dalvik. Then install the theme and reboot.
How to backup and restore using Titanium backup Here is the method I use to backup my phone information before I wipe and install a new ROM
I backup my entire phone with a batch "Backup all user apps + system data"
Wipe and install the new ROM,
I open Titanium Backup (TB) and give it super user rights.
I hit "Updates?" in TB and make sure I am running the latest.
I hit "Problems?" in TB and make sure I am using Busybox 1.60
Hit menu and select batch
Select "Backup all new apps + newer versions of apps", if any.
Select "Restore missing apps with data"
Go over the list and make sure you are restoring only what you want
Hit run batch operation
After it completes, go back into TB and backup restore.
Restore contacts twice
Restore MMS twice
Restore Mail twice
If any of the 3 above do not take, do it again
Restart your phone
Verify mail, MMS, and contacts restored. If not, restore again.
Why Amon RA and not Clockwork recovery?
Clockwork does not wipe the Dalvik properly (if at all). I personally have had nothing but problems with both Clockwork and ROM manager
I have said countless times that if you use either of the above, it is at your own risk. Install Amon RA recovery and I bet any wiping/installing problems will go away.
If you already are using ROM manager, pick the option to install a custom recovery, choose Amon RA 1.8. If that option is greyed out, reinstall the latest Clockwork then install RA.
Note: Do not do a fix permissions with anything unless you need to, you can screw stuff up that way.
Trust me, the new ROM is devoid of problems (I have never tested a ROM this much before releasing it). If you experience any, it is either something you are doing wrong or incomplete wipes thanks to your recovery not doing it's job properly.
Which kernels work with this ROM?
Any that are designed for a Sense ROM. This includes:
Netarchy's
Kingclick's
Hero Over's
Ziggy's
HTC's
Which kernel do you recommend to use?
I cannot recommend a kernel for you because each EVO reacts different. The best for my phone can be the worse for yours.
You have to try the different ones available and pick the one that works best for you. What I do is start with their latest and work your way down until you find one that works well. Then stick with it.
This also goes for overclocking, SetCPU settings, etc.
With the new Hardware 0004 Evo phones, a custom kernel may or may not break the camera and video recording features. Make sure to test them before you head out.
Which themes work with this ROM?
Themes make your phone look nice but can also add problems to an otherwise smooth running ROM. You can use any theme you wish, but Nandroid first and if anything is broken, please do not blame the ROM as it is the theme that added the problem.
You definitely need to install a theme that works with a Gingerbread based ROM. DO NOT load an older theme (for older OTA's, for example 3.70, 3.30 or 3.29) as the framework files are different.
Always Nandroid before using a custom theme. Once you load up the theme, verify no problems are present that were not there before you installed the theme. If there is, keep the theme and either live with the problem, or fix it if you can. If not,be sure to let the maker of that particular theme aware that it is not working with Azrael ROM. They may be glad to help and you are helping them make their theme more compatible.

I'm not seeing any flaws so far.

3.30.651.2 (and subsequently 3.30.651.3) is 100% designed for newer Evo manufactured in November.
These Evos are hardware number 0004 and have a different camera chip and some other changes to the framework of the ROMS to accommodate this new hardware. HTC threw us ROM makers a curve ball!
You can use 3.30.XXX.X on an older Evo, but you can experience the following problems (some of which I personally witnessed on my own 0003 Evo):
Fast battery drain
3rd party camera apps having trouble working
Speed descreased a bit. (My new Azrael ROM is faster than my new Omega ROM on my phone, though they are identical besides the base).

Ahhhh! And I was just going to ask you ric why the base change, my Evo is hardware #0003 too.

I have heard of reports of 0003 having the new camera chip

Has the 3.30 base been definitely pinpointed as the cause of the rapid battery drain? I trust you and your Rom that's why I am using it. I only ask because it seems as most devs here have updated their Rom to the new base and was curious what in the build would cause this? Thanks.

[ROM] Zen-ROM Updated 08-30-2010.

This is is based on gsm Hero ROM RCMIX18. It's like the Legend build but faster so you get all the newest Sense goodies like:
Friendstream
News/RSS Widget
Enhanced text selector in the browser.
Downloadable Sense widgets
Internet Connection Sharing
Native live wallpapers in Sense
Shake the phone to see homescreen thumbnails
Everything should be working if you flashed the Main ROM and the update except whats noted below.
Rules and Stuff
The first rule of zenroms is you don't ask for ETA's
Using ZenKernel #2 clocked at 691 set to ondemand
Download Maps from the Market
No you can't update your PRL
Don't ask about Sprint Visual Voice Mail
Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobil networks will force close if you select it. It happens on every gsm sense port.
Don't post about how you flashed this and went back to your other rom.
I like cyanogenmod too.
If you want to help then post real bugs with logcats. Not some generic response like "X app force closed"
Don't ask for this or that option. Updates will come as time permits.
Whats the point?
Second rule of zenroms. There is no point
You need to be rooted and have a custom recovery installed
Nandroid in case you want to go back to your other rom
Wipe everything before flashing: data/cache/sd-ext
The update will auto wipe just in case you didn't
For more up to date info and downloads visit http://zenroms.com

I will probably check this out, downloading now.
You using it yourself zen?
EDIT: Flashing now, screenies soon.
Setting up the phone wizard was pretty nifty! Tethering verified as working, wifi verified as working, all my apps showed up in the market. Initial boot took 6 minutes. I like how the flash deleted everything in case somebody forgets. On a side note I like that theres a progress bar when you start up the phone. No questions of a boot loop here. Man this thing is running smooth! Ive uploaded screenies of the stock home settings.

On and off since yesterday. It's running great for me.
I may have to try this on my fiance's phone. I don't think I'm ready to give up Zen EXP. Thanks for providing two excellent options!

If you are rooted then download ROM Manager from the market and use either the Clockword recovery or my personal favorite the Amon Ra recovery.
Dowloand the ROM to the root of your SD card (saved to the SD card but not in any folder).
Turn off your phone, then power on while holding the volume down button. Press the home button when you get to the white screen with the Fastboot and recovery options. Select backup and create a nandroid backup. Then select wipe and factory wipe your phone (you will lose all saved data and settings).
Once you've wiped the select the Flash option and flash the ROM. Once the flash is complete select the reboot option and you'll be rocking the ROM of your choice.
You can download Titanium backup to backup your apps and data. I highly suggest reinstalling on market apps from Titanium, you do not want to attempt to reinstall any system apps or data.

Running this and wow, this thing is smooth! Great job Zen!!!
Just when you have me fall in love with one ROM, you release another...
(but seriously, you rock)
What makes this ROM so much faster? I don't have time to try it yet, but if it is that much faster I will definitely use it.
Also, does this framework allow custom themes (such as Espresso?)

I've been running this for about 2 hours, it FLYS! Not much delay in messaging app either plus you get the extra htc widgets. I'll definatly be using this for a while. After install still had 150 app space left and it isnt even odexed!
One quirk Zen if you could touch on this, my notification lights are a bit funky. ie I seen it blink once really fast but it stays off otherwise when getting a text message.
It is not a deal breaker for me though I'm keeping this bad boy on my phone for awhile. Thank you so much!!!!!
I'll try any Sense ROM once as long as it's nice and clean like this one I'm a Fresh guy myself but everyone does fantiastic stuff. Now if there was just an app for free cable...
*Don't post about how you flashed this and went back to your other rom. Nobody cares.
Classic Here's a dumb question.....what about JIT?
So if anyone has switched from the latest Zen-EXP(the mytouch 3g slide port) to this, how's it running in comparison?
I'm using EXP with noperflock kernel at 768 and it's flying, but if this is quicker I'll switch.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the point of this? I'm not complaining that we have more ROM options, but it's simply a question since it looks basically exactly like stock 2.1 imo. Is it because we can, and it's free?

Stock 2.1 doesn't have the improvements listed at the top.
Also, the legend port we had a long time ago was much faster than the Hero builds at the time, and the Aria builds are apparently faster.
So if you like faster and more featured builds, then you'll like this.
Flashing now, thanks Zip/Zen, I'll report how it's running.

Ah, okay. Faster is definitely good, but I never cared for Sense.. I may try it though, just to see how fast it is. Thanks for answering my question.
Nice ROM!!
Quick Question... and sorry for thinking about the future... Does this means that if AT&T shows some 2.2 Froyo on Aria... Can be ported to the Hero?

[ROM][3/21/2011] LiquidSense 2.1.1 Final (No More Changes/Builds)

All Builds are up. No more changes will occur. Massive credits to Kifno on getting the kernel cooked in and also for adding back in the mail apk.
For those of you who don't know, LiquidSense is a ROM series that focuses on speed and stability with minimal bloat, except instead of the Cyanogen approach, this is for Sense lovers. Any apk I have removed can be re-added very easily .
Credits:
NFinite - for damn near everything, inspiration + an excellent base ROM, as usual. He gets full credit for the rooting/installation of busybox/integration of Apps2SD, and the best of luck to him as he gets
ASimmons - For the wonderful optimization scripts. Seriously, this man is a genius.
Decad3ance - Amazing kernel, and relentless drive to give us the best our Heroes can get
TpyoKnig - For the extremely fast FTP so that my Dropbox Public folder doesn't get hammered like an Irishman at Oktoberfest, also for some indispensable help building up the ROM as well
Kifno - MAJOR help with integrating the kernel into the ROMs, as well as adding back the mail apk which I stupidly removed. He understands what he's doing, and we should be interested to see what he comes up with next.
What it is:
~ NFinite's Latest ROM Release (NFX-Sprint.STOCK.2.32.651.2.ODEX.A2SD)
~ Decad3ance's #589 Kernel capped at 691. You can easily flash over uncapped if you'd like.
~ 100% png-optimized and zipaligned + odexed for massive performance and fast startup
~ Fully rooted + busybox (credit for both goes to NFinite)
~ Tons of Sprint Bloat removed (can be added back)
~ Original ROM size was 106 MB, my ROM is only 88 MB
What's been removed:
~ The usual Sprint Stuff (Nav/VVM/Sprint Zone/Nascar/NFL/TV)
~ Some HTC Stuff I felt was not needed at all (a few widgets, Teeter, Flickr, Twitter, Stocks, Learn More)
~ More specific list coming later (if you can't wait, take a look at the Removed APKs zip at the bottom of this post)
Special Notes:
~ Google Maps has been left in this ROM. I could have easily taken it out and removed 5 MB, but I felt too many people depend on it to have it removed
~ Facebook has been removed. I feel the app is garbage, but if you want it, it's just a download away in the Market.
~ Market is the latest one, it includes auto-update.
~ Ringtones have been left inside the ROM since the last time I removed them, people's phone process was crashing.
~ Wired Tether is no longer pre-cooked into the ROM, but it is stored on your SD card. Install with the provided ES File Manager if you wish to use it.
Screenshots:
Nothing is visually changed about the ROM. Screenshots could be put up, but if you've seen a stock ROM before, you've seen this one.
Instructions:
Ready? Here we go! Veteran users probably won't need to read all of the steps.
Step 1: Power off your phone.
Step 2: Press and hold volume down while powering on the phone to get to Recovery..
Step 3: Please please please nandroid!
Step 4: Mount USB Storage (while in recovery)
Step 5: Download and put the ROM of your choice on your memory card:
~ Odex (Faster, Not easily themeable)
LiquidSense 2.1.1 Final Odex Deca 691Mhz + Sprint VVM
LiquidSense 2.1.1 Final Odex Deca 691Mhz with no VVM
~ Deodex (Slightly slower, extremely easy to theme)
LiquidSense 2.1.1 Final Deodex Deca 691Mhz + Sprint VVM
LiquidSense 2.1.1 Final Deodex Deca 691Mhz with no VVM
IF your phone can handle 768, simply flash over Deca's Stable #589 kernel over your flash.
Step 6: Wipe/Factory Reset (I strongly suggest this)
Step 7: Flash the ROM you downloaded.
Step 8 (optional): Without leaving the recovery menu, proceed to flash the #589 768MHz kernel as well, if your phone can handle it.
Step 9: Reboot, setup, and enjoy.
Removed APKs/Widgets:
A fair amount of stuff has been removed from this ROM. You can find all the removed APKs here, just push them back into /system/app: Removed System APKs
Also, with massive thanks to Kifno, the Sprint VVM builds are fully updated as well. He is the reason this ROM is finished, keep a close eye on his dev threads. He's bound to do something big for us.
Reserved just in case.
ill give it a go and see if i can find anything.
Well on the setup if you try and add other email it fc the setup wizard (com.htc.android.htcsetupwizard).
M on it will report

Liquid: I think you should remove as much as possible, and let folks add back what they want. Removing facebook was a good step. Leaving Google Maps... maybe but it gets updated often and will have to be downloaded from the Market anyway. Just a personal opinion, as I am capable enough to remove what I want before I flash anyway.
Good luck with the kernel, if you figure out how to get decada3nce's kernel easily imported let me know? That is something I haven't looked into yet as I always flashed afterwards.
Also, have you seen this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7732407&postcount=223
A few more things you could trim. Probably a good idea to read some of that thread besides what I just directly linked to.
Thanks for your hard 'up-till-4am' work.
By the way, could you share the optimization scripts you use? Sounds like you use different ones that I managed to cherry pick off the depths of the interwebs.
Have a good day!
for some reason the download keeps stopping..

Since this is a beta, you should go into detail about your FC's if they are %100 repeatable to help Liquid out incase they missed something, etc.
1) Did you flash over a previous install, or do a full wipe and fresh install?
2) What was the FC error message? Was it while an app was running or when you started an app?
3) What extra apps have you installed? Tweaks? Task Killers? Overclocking beyond 691? etc
No biggie if not, just trying to make this rom the best it can be!
I would flash this but I'm a senseless person lol have fun

rom FC and issues...
did complete wipe, etc...installed rom, and i get a FC when trying to add a email other than gmail acct....and no mail icon on homescreen/dock.i also had to load rom and kernal several times (3) for it to take. email is the only concern for me...its fast as hell and well put together otherwise

3) What extra apps have you installed? Tweaks? Task Killers? Overclocking beyond 691? etc
No biggie if not, just trying to make this rom the best it can be!

1. I did a full wipe and fresh install.
2. One of the FC's was with Sense and the other was with the market.
3. I installed Smartkeyboard and Handcent SMS, but i got the FC's before that.
Like I said, nothin too big.

Cool, hopefully Liquid will be able to look into your issue and the other poster's issue with non-gmail email.
I haven't had a chance to flash this yet since I'm at work 12hrs a day till the 1st. Can't risk not having a phone for even a few minutes. Because, you know, as soon as I reboot to flash something the boss will call, I'd miss it, then I'd have to explain why I wasn't able to answer the call etc... I love my job
Have had this up and running for 24 hrs; runs as smooth and fast as the previous stable build, no FC's of any kind.
I'm using Deca's #23 CFS uncapped as I've found it the best of what he's done so far; SetCPU set to 729/245 smartass gov.
Yes, HTC mail was definitely not cooked into this rom, nor was Maps. No biggie on either, I dl'd Maps from the market, and am using the mobile Yahoo Mail site through Opera Mini.
Liquid! Everything is running fine. Flashed your ROM and the Kernel. Restored a bunch of apps, everything is smooth! I'll just need to get onto my computer and install some of the removed apps, as I'm not able to installs some apps and widgets through ES File Mgr.
With the new ROM, I forgot to set my alarm and was late!

It just worked for me. Try this filebeam.com mirror. I'll keep it around for a day or two or if Liquid updates his rom before then. I don't want old versions floating around any place other than the OP's main post.

The HTC Mail app is in the removed apps zip file that Liquid posted on the OP. You'll probably need to use Android Commander to install, I tried with the ES File Mgr and would not work. I'll be doing that tonight.

My mirror is just the ROM. The kernel you can get from decad3nces thread, or from the OP. It's small file size.
Sorry for the confusion.

SDCARD Partitioning Tutorial.
I know that with EXT4, partitioning the sdcard can be a hassle. Here's a little workaround to help you get it partitioned the easiest way I know without having to mount systems and such in Terminal Emulator. This way makes you flash 2 seperate recoveries, but I would rather do this than the other methods which could take upwards of a half hour or even longer. I've seen people that were working on it for a couple hours. Without further adieu:
NOTE: If you are running RFS, just follow step 1. and you'll be done. If you are running EXT4, skip right to step 2. and follow from there.
1. If you are running RFS, then you do not need to follow any other steps. In the green CWM2.5.5 recovery, just go to "advanced" in recovery and choose the Partition option. It's going to give you two questions for sizes that you want. The first size is going to be the ext size. For this it will give you a few options, but I don't recommend choosing anything below 512. You will see all the options when they pop up, just choose what you feel most comfortable with. The next thing it's going to tell you to select is the swap size. I again don't recommend choosing anything below 128 for this option. You will again see a list of options, so choose what you feel most comfortable with.
2. If you are running EXT4, then follow these steps and you'll be up and running with your new partition very soon. First thing you need to do is gather all the tools you're going to need. Here are the list of tools you will need:
A. One Click Root & Recovery 2.5.5
B. One Click Root & Recovery 3.0.0.6
Quite the long list huh? lol ...I told you it's gonna be simple lol.
Download both of these files (if you don't have one or the other already) and extract them to an easy to find location on your computer somewhere.
3. Ok, you're going to do this just the same as you would if you were rooting your phone from a stock state. And to answer your question that's running through your head right now, No, this will not return you to RFS. You will still be on EXT4 the entire time, so there's not real need to backup your sdcard or worry about having to sit through the backup&restore again. Once again, to be very clear... Even though you are flashing cwm2.5.5 recovery, you will REMAIN EXT4. So let's continue. Make sure USB Debugging is on and plug your phone into your computer. Do NOT mount the sdcard, just have the phone plugged in. Open the One Click Root & Recovery 2.5.5, and run the program. When it's finished, your phone will reboot. Do NOT unplug it until the script is complete. The script will say "Operation Complete. Hit any button to continue" or something along those lines. Just hit a button and the script will automatically close. You can now reboot into recovery and you will see the 2.5.5 recovery with the green letters. If you don't have the green letters, then you didn't run the right One Click, and you should start over using the correct one lol . For those that successfully flashed the 2.5.5 recovery, move on to step 4.
4. If you have the green letters, then we'll continue, if not, repeat step 3. with the correct one click lol. Now that you have the green letters, revert to step 1. When you're finished following the same instructions from step 1, move on to step 5. If you have any issues with anything from step 1. (which you shouldn't, but if you do) click here to go to Mibbit's irc chat website. Along the top left side you will see 2 tabs labeled "Home" and "Connect". Make sure you are on the tab that says "Home". When on the tab labeled "Home", you will see the box in the middle of the page. Right beside the letters "IRC:" is a dropdown box. You're going to click on the dropdown arrow and select "EFNET". Next, you're going to enter your nickname, and finally, beside "channel:" type "#viper" and select "Go". That will bring you to Team Vipers chat where one of us will be able to help you.
5. Now that you are partitioned, it's time to restore the EXT4 recovery. If you do not restore the EXT4 recovery, you will not be able to flash any new ROM's or Kernels, so you MUST restore the correct recovery. To do so, you simply do the same steps. Make sure USB Debugging is turned on and plug your phone in. You do NOT need to mount. Now you simply run the 3.0.0.6 One Click Root & Recovery. Let it run through it's process and it will reboot itself. Do NOT exit out of the command prompt until it says "finished, press any key to continue". Once your phone reboots, you can then reboot into recovery and you will see that you have the orange letters again. When you see the orange letters, you now have a partitioned sdcard and you are back on the correct recovery.
**ONCE THE KERNEL IS RELEASED (Which should be within the next 24 hours as long as my testers don't see any issues) THEN MOVE ON TO STEP 6.**
6. Now that you're partitioned, the only thing left to do is flash the kernel. Connect your phone to your computer and copy the Kernel to your sdcard if you have not done so already. To flash it, just choose "Install zip from sdcard" followed by "Choose zip from sdcard" and simply navigate to where you stored it on your sdcard. That's all. It's quite quick and painless and you should be able to do it all within 10-15 minutes.

Do i sense a 3.0.1 update to be sweet! or is the current 3.0 this version?
Hi BT. Thanks for the great ROM. I am using 3.0 right now. What is the difference between 3.0 and 3.0.1? Thanks. Keep up the great work! And one quick question. When I try to install lagfix, everythiing works besides the last step, installing viperspeed. It says I cant install it because I dont have enough room. but I have 185MB free. any ideas?
Link? I hope it's not there or else I'll feel more jerky than usual. Oh and super-thanks for those file names on the battery mods, so important... I have a mess of files like GREENBATMODTHISTHAT with no versions or anything and I guess I didn't realize that I needed to keep mods organized by ROM.

3.0.1 does have the aosp lock screen the 4g is fixed

Hey BT there is a app called WidgerLocker Lockscreen which lets you put any widget/app i believe on you lock screen that might be helpful i think..
Just installed it and brought back the aosp lock screen might wanna check it out... Send me a pm of ur email so i can send u the apk cause its a paid app
Another quick question BT, what are the other options for in the lagfix? Are they for future upgrades or not necessary at all?
Hey BT I just want to thank you for all your hard work and your great rom. I hope this hasn't been answered but is it necessary to remove my original root before flashing any of your roms? I have flashed most all of them and I have not deleted it. I'm not having any problems with 3.0. Thank you....

nope you don't have to...just wipe 3x, wipe cache 2x, and wipe dalvik cache ONCE and flash the rom then you are good to go (assuming you are using the correct modem and if not then flash it first with odin)

[ROM] [20/08] Pre-rooted Stock Gingerbread (3.14.405.1) [Optional Mods]

For those familiar with my pre-rooted stock Froyo ROM, this is the first release of HTC's official HTC Desire Gingerbread ROM. As before, the base ROM is entirely stock, but with the following minimal changes:
Added root (including busybox)
Superuser App - 2.3.6.3 (ChainsDD)
init.d support
This ROM requires a full wipe to install. There is no option here - the ROM will automatically wipe your phone's storage (excluding the sdcard). Therefore it's highly recommended to do a back up before installing.
The ROM does not include the radio, but you should install this at the same time you install the ROM, if you don't have this version already. The radio supplied with HTC's release is 5.17.05.23 and this is provided below.
3.14.405.1 INIT.D ROM
Download 3.14.405.1 Stock ROM (1.0-test)
md5: de99e70682971b183ed65abc6e2fc62d
Download 5.17.05.23 Radio
md5: 738a94c891a6a10082c8bf9f5c4884ba
OPTIONS
Below are some mods to this ROM (more will follow). They are purely optional, and of course take you further away from the stock ROM. Remember that all of these mods are designed to work with this ROM specifically, and not others.
UPDATE APPS (1.0) - updated || 03/08
This will update your system Google apps to the latest market versions: Maps 5.8.0, Gmail 2.3.5.
POWERSAVING MODULES - updated || 10/08
This reduces your battery usage by slightly undervolting, and by forcing the CPU down to 245MHz when the screen is off (it will also fall to 245MHz when idle). Additionally, when battery capacity falls below 30%, the maximum speed will be 800MHz, less than 20% it will be 700MHz and less than 10% it will be limited to 380MHz. When your phone is connected to a charger, it will boost performance a bit when the screen is on, and the speed will not be limited.
A2SD (1.0) - updated || 05/08
With this mod your apps will be saved to the sdcard instead of internal storage. Gingerbread includes enhanced support for moving apps to your sdcard, but not all can be moved, and so this isn't sufficient for everybody. If you need more space, this will help. For this to work you need your sdcard formatted with two partitions, the first a regular FAT partition for general use, the second an ext2/ext3 partition exclusively for A2SD. If you install the mod without a second partition A2SD will not be activated, but it will automatically start up if you create the partition later on your next boot.
MINOR TWEAKS & EXT4 (2.0) - updated || 20/08
This mod will install the default boot animation to the data area, where you can replace it with a custom one if you want to. It also allows hosts modification (you can use the AdFree Android app - do not use the symlink option in it). You will need to re-apply this mod if you do a full wipe. 2.0: Add ext4 support.
REMOVE BOOTSOUND (1.0) - updated || 04/08
Disables the sound on boot up.
INSTALLATION
Your phone must be rooted with custom recovery to install this ROM. There are plenty of guides on how to do this simple procedure. The recommended steps for installation are as follows:
Back up your contacts, apps and text messages to your sdcard; reboot the phone into custom recovery; perform a full backup in recovery; install the radio (select 'install zip from sdcard'); install the ROM; reboot.
After you update the radio the phone will reboot a couple of times, this is normal. The first regular boot may take a little longer than usual.
FAQ
Q. I have installed the official HTC developer Gingerbread update. Can I install this?
A. The preview of the new version of Alpharev (Revolutionary) should be able to help you with this.
Q. Do I need to install this radio?
A. No, but it's highly recommended.
Q. Does this support 720p?
A. Yes. It supports everything that the official ROM supports.
Q. My wifi disconnects occasionally - I had no problem in froyo.
A. This is a problem with the official ROM. It cuts the wifi connection if the signal falls low and switches to your data connection. There will be an optional mod to revert this soon.
Q. Can I use this with Alpharev?
A. Yes. But your system partition must be 250mb.
Hi Teppic,
I'm still using your froyo rom. Thank you very much, runs very smoothly. I didn't use the a2sd+ you included there but i need more room now.
How much space is left to install apps after installing this rom?
Will you include a powersaving modpack?
If you add some form of apps to sd will you give us the option of keeping dalvik cache on the internal memory? (If I have read correctly, this gives least lag)

I think there's about 120mb free on a clean installation. Remember that in Gingerbread the official apps to sd function is better than in Froyo, and might be enough.
I need to spend more time to get other mods sorted out, but I thought it would be best to get the base rom out immediately.
altough I'm an AOSP fan this seems an excelent choice to go stock.
tks
Thanks for this, I was a big fan of your Froyo rom!
Looking forward to A2SD support.
Thanks a lot teppic74 for this ROM.
I'm using your Froyo ROM since months and will use this Gingerbread ROM as soon as the powersaving modpack will be available.
One mod that could be very useful is DATA2SD : [DEV][DATA2SD] More space (and more I/O) for your Desire (Updated/EXT4/Flashable ZIP). I'm using it with success on your Froyo rom.
Thanks for this release!
Only reason I'm on Sense is due to the lack of an aosp rom supporting 720p recording on the Desire, and this makes it nice knowing I don't have to get locked in with the new hboot etc.
Thanks!
i heard this rom just for development testing and not every day use, what thing are laggy/buggy in this rom thanks. i heard battery is terrible...
Cool & thanks! I'm also still on your Froyo A2SD... (in spite of being tempted many times by the earlier sense GB ports... I want something stable and stock-like)
I made a few home-made mods on your Froyo (install a few more apps to system, like the brilliant widgetsoid).
Anyway, as soon as your A2SD GB out, I'll try it

Sorry, to clarify: it's the original GingerBread Sense ROM from HTC that, if installed using the HTC release (RUU), will be unrootable and irreversible (at the moment - with all current tools).
All custom ROMs derived from it, are pre-rooted and reversible.

[ROM] Huawei U8150 LEANdroidMOD 6 final.

Hi,
I have been in contact with Bertans through his LEANdroid thread and through private message and we have been working on a bit of a mod for LEANdroid. Basically people want OC/UC and the rest of the goodness from other roms.
It is a mod of LEANdroid 11.10.2 and has a few extra bits over and above that rom. Now has a kernel custom compiled by me from aorth's kernel source.
Includes:
LEANdroidMOD_6
-2.2.2 Thailand rom base, newer and has the mystical .2 instead of .1!
-NOMA kernel from before
-Custom Ubuntu and Jura fonts because they look better than the ugly android ones
-Not compatible with previous 2.2.1 releases (up to LDM 5)
-This is for testing, not sure if it is compelling enough as an upgrade over LDM5 as I am going to include fonts in LDM 5 too.
-Still has old market, but it will auto update, may update it in a future release.
-Has XDA anti malware patch set up in installer.
LEANdroidMOD_5
-Custom kernel based of NOMA source
-Very custom smartass cpu profile setup, seems fast and battery efficient
-24/12/12, now has Ubuntu and Jura fonts and XDA anti malware patch in installer
-Otherwise similar to before
Previous
-Android 2.2.1+ LEANdroid 11.10.2+
-OC/UC 30mhz to 691mhz. Defaults to 30mhz and 600mhz- Fusion Kernel.
-Smartass and interactive governers. Default is ondemand.
-164MB free space.
-Some custom sounds.
-Fusion kernel 122mhz and 600mhz by default.
-Busybox
-NOfrills cpu control installed by default.
-Tweaked memory management
Everything that worked on LEANdroid should still work up to LDM 5 but it has a more spicy kernel and a few more tweaks. Please backup first as I cant be responsible if it doesn't work or you lose stuff. As these builds are just LEANdroid with a different kernel and a tweak or two, you should be able to get away with just flashing it over your existing LEANdroid install and just wipe cache and dalvic cache.

Install
Install procedure:
-I installed Clockwork Mod recovery from rom manager which is the 3.0.2.4 version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13264607
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12619750
Reboot after install and hold volume up and green call button then push the power button > hold vol up and green call until recovery menu comes up > wipe user data and cache as well as dalvic cache in advanced menu > choose install zip from SD card and select whichever LDM release you are using. Once it is installed, reboot the phone and you should have a shiny new LDM install.
Thanks

Looks Good!
Great job - I'm excited - will try tomorrow. What keyboard and launcher is this running?
I will try it (I am excited about it).
Still dun understand why everyone say about abd driver in install procedure when all is done on phone and phone sdcard.
Is running standard android keyboard and launcher pro just like LEANdroid.
Think the adb part is just to get clockwork mod on there. You can also use rom manager if you want, although that seemed to be playing up last time I installed it. if you play a bit more you can also use fastboot, but I have not tried that yet. Im still running CWM 3 installed ages ago using rom manager.
Any idea how to get extended "Phone options" when i press power button.
Like reboot, etc not just the 3: Silent, Airplane, Power Off ??
Thx.
It is something to do with custom frameworks. Have not explored that much as yet. Trying to get the kernel good and fast for a start and then can look at custom looks for later.
Hangs at Android logo
I had just finished flashing LeanDroid when I noticed your (what I like to call) "LeanDroid on Steroids" (on Steroids due to being overclocked). I had been thinking if I were to right a ROM, this would be it...so...I was jazzed. I spent all day trying things over and over and can't get it installed. It just hangs at the "Android" screen. I had to install something so went back to regular LeanDroid and installed it again with no problems. I did everything you suggested including the wipe and the new CWM to no avail. Did anybody else get it installed?
Oh, ok... interesting. will have to do a wipe and flash and see what is going on at some stage. Have been developing it as I go on my phone, so possibly it works as I have been flashing kernels and such over existing builds.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Does CWM give any errors with installing?
Im guessing you are reasonable experienced with flashing, but how long did you leave it for on the android screen?
is this the android animation screen or the boot splash?
Does the MD5 hash match?
Thanks for helping test this, hopefully can get some more info and testing done to work out what is going on here.
heh, just flashed it from fresh and no dice, boot loop. trying to suss it now.
Going to upload a more basic build which is just leandroid+ kernel. Just tested on fresh install and it boots fine. Link will be updated in the first post.
Paul
Ok, take 2... try the new mod which is in the original post. It is straight LEANdroid+fusion kernel.
CWM gives no errors. Not heavy enough to know the meaning of "MD5 hash match" but also not fresh out of the box; I gave it at least 5 minutes on the "Android" screen (don't know if that's called the animation or boot splash); regular LeanDroid takes almost exactly 2 minutes so I thought 5 should be long enough. Will try the new one now. If doesn't work it will take me a little while to get back to you about it because I'll have to reinstall a working ROM so I can connect and reply. Here goes.
PS: I'm not doing this for fun; I just wanted a fast & lean ROM because I found myself demanding a lot of my little IDEOS and she was getting intolerably slow...am I'm really exhausted from trying to come up to speed on all this over the last few weeks...so...I want to be finished with this now...so...when you do any future updates (in gratitude for my help ) if it's even possible, could you please make sure it catches this LEANdroidMOD_2 so I don't have to do anything else to have your final version? I'd really appreciate it. Here goes. I'll let you know what happens.
OK. It loaded. Took 2 minutes just like plain LeanDroid. I went straight to the app drawer to play with NoFrills but it's not there. I realize you probably "lightened" this one as a troubleshooting tool to get her working. I just installed NoFrills and it does offer the 691MHz of the custom kernel. Sorry for asking you to educate me but:
1. Is it very advantageous to have NoFrills (or any desired apps) built in to the ROM instead of installed separately and if so, why?
2. Should I go 691, 122, ondemand, & deadline or what?
3. Should wait before I start heavily customizing my homescreens with postits, etc. because this prelim version won't be updated?
4. Is there a way to update to a more final version without losing my homepage customizations?
Thanks for the (I say best) ROM and any educating you give.
Hey Paulynator, thanks for your patience. Leandroidmod_2 was a very quick build to get things moving as I had to build something to get my phone working after the first rom didn't boot in testing! Will upload another build with busybox by default and a couple of small mods today. Problem came from data/app, so ditched that and put apps into /system/app.
Questions:
1)Not really, I just like it, others may prefer setcpu or something else instead.
2)You go with what you feel happy and doesnt crash your phone, try 652 and 60 first, then go higher and lower if it is working fine. Just leave apply on boot unchecked in nofrills until everything is working fine. Ondemand and deadline will be fine.
3)Updates should be able to be installed without a wipe.
4)Just install zip in CWM over your install, sorry, I cant promise anything though.
Thanks
Paul
Ok, take 3. everything from 2+busybox and some custom bits. Tested on my phone and it boots fine with a total wipe. Hopefully wont need to do a total wipe, but have not tested flashing over an existing install.
For question #1, I didn't mean NoFrills as opposed to SetCPU or something else; I'm asking if it's very advantageous to have desired apps built in to the ROM instead of installed separately and if so, why?
Paul,
Report on LEANdroidMOD_3 (a.k.a. LeanDroidOnSteroids, c'mon, it rhymes!) (or even "cleaner": SteroidLeanDroid. If I say so myself, awesome title for an awesome ROM...to me.)
Installed over version #2 w/o wipe seems to be ok...to the extent that I started the process of recluttering (restoring) my Ideos as though "she's a keeper", i.e. no more wiping; the records stay intact from now on.

Sorry to hit you with 3 since your last but since we have a "hard"/permanent Home button right below the screen, is the redundant one at the bottom of the app drawer removable from a menu or would I have to mod the rom to remove it?

Doesnt matter one way or the other, I just liked it built in. Only possible advantage is that some apps in /system/app wont use space in /data/app, but this is lost the moment you update them as updates seem to install into /data/app. So my Leandroid with nofrills in /system/app still gives 164mb free space in data partition until things get updated.
Good work, thanks for the update that it can be installed over a previous install.
Home button is part of launcher pro. on the home screen, hit menu>preferences>appearance settings>uncheck home button on app drawer.

Just found a possible glitch. Don't know if it's the ROM so tried the obvious things to no avail. The camera app (any camera app; I tested the problem by downloading and trying others) won't access the gallery. In the stock app, the little preview window (that tapping opens the picture in the main window) won't open the picture. It gives an error message saying "app initialize failed. please download the app from the market". The app isn't in the market so I d/l'd 2 other camera apps and they both did the same. Using Root Explorer to try to open a picture also wouldn't work. Could you please try to access the gallery on a phone you've installed your ROM on and let me know if it works? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Works fine on mine. Try go to the market and update Quickpic. It does not like being in /system/app so if you update it, it should work. It was one of the reasons I tried to put it in a data/app from the start, but that caused bigger problems like the rom not booting.
I could also put the stock gallery back in alongside quickpic if needed but it does not have multitouch.
