Regarding Show Hidden number when dialing.. - HTC Sensation

HTC has this feature at Phone Settings -> Call -> More Settings -> Caller ID -> Always Show.
No im not interested in the usual troll replys like: Call your isp to show your number, i have a Hidden Number for a reason to get Sales people away, but i also have the option to show my number when im calling if i activate this feature.
I would like to add this feature or something similar for an AOSP experience, and this has been the major issue for me not going there atm, I've tried the app Prefixer, but i have absolutely no idea how to add anything in that..
Any ideas? I would really like to use AOSP, as i really like the speed and Battery time, but i simply can't as i need the Caller ID feature.

friendly bump, would immensly appreciate any tips and tricks!! I will call my ISP for the +dial number to show hidden number when dialing, but i need help to get to the point where i can get this working!

Emergency Calls

I hope this hasn't been asked already, I did search and found nothing.
When you lock the phone with a PIN, it will still allow you to make an "emergency call." Is there any way to add a number to the list of allowable calls? Also, is there a way to change the text that pops up that says "emergency phone calls can be made"?
Thanks!

I don't know that
This is set inside the kernel. It is part of the FCC and govt regulations. Dont think you will be able to change it.
Damn, thanks!
Found theese Regkeys in WM6:
HLM/Security/ECall
HLM/Security/EcallWithoutSIM
HLM/Security/ECallWithSIM
Just add your wished numbers to the List, and softreset the device...

display real caller ID just like your home phone!

http://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=3255
Sorry - I don't understand what this product does.
If Caller ID is able to display the number, it will - if it's unable to do so it will not.
How is that different from what our phones will do natively?
It seems it automagically includes information about the numbers owner, instead of just showing the name. In general, a number in itself is rarely helpful, but when you get the name behind the number also, without having it in your contact list, it's more useful.
Never tried this software, but I assume this is the way it works.
The difference is, that this will display the users name, even if they are not in your contacts list.
Right now if I call your phone it will just show up as a number, bc I am not in your phone's contact list. If I call you and you have this service, you will see my full name when I call you, based on the CID information encoded in the call.
Also it is important to note that most carriers user CID information as authentication for voicemail boxes. ie, if I use my computer to call your VM box with your phone number in the CID information, it WILL let me in to your VM box, unless you have it set to prompt for a password (In which case I would ahve to know it).
Some carriers have additional security, but I CAN ASSURE YOU that att/cingular does not have any other meaningfull security in place for voicemail.
I highly recommend putting passwords on your voicemail boxes, and set it to prompt you for the pass when you use it.

[Q] selective caller id blocking

So I was googling for an answer and my research has come up with absolutely squat to solve my solution. So I am hoping someone here can come up with an answer for me.
I had for the last few phones a bunch of WM phones where they have the option to block my outgoing caller ID to non contacts. I am fully aware that Android offers in the options setting to either block it to all outgoing (which isn't of value because it blocks it also to people who I could care less if they have my number) and the other option to show it to everyone (which I'd rather not some people have my number or it be left on a call log so random people couldn't call back from the phone or employees who I simply dislike not getting my non office number) or the last option to use the standard carrier option which is the same as the last which falls under the same reason.
Does anyone have a solution where I can block my number other than dialing *67 to non contacts to block my number as a standard option that the phone would automatically do like WM used to do?
I don't know if this has any truth to it, but I found this info
I have a Captivate from AT&T. It has the Android OS and it does have a setting to withhold your number from people who are not in your contacts. You go to call settings, all calls, show my number, and choose By network.
With that said, you should be aware that on AT&T's network this only works if you don't update your phone with firmware update 2.1 update 1. AT&T had this function turned off in this update because they want to charge people $2 a month to withhold your number from people that do not have you in their contacts. I found this out the hard way after I updated. I spent all morning talking to tech support for both Samsung and AT&T. Tech support at Samsung told me that it does not say in the release notes for the update that this function was going to be disabled in that update. Samsung also told me that AT&T decides what is in the maintenance updates. AT&T's customer service said I could pay $2 a month for the function and AT&T's tech support said all they can do is revert the phone back to the old firmware. Maybe if enough AT&T customers complain they will have the function turned back on in the next update.

here
So it sounds like the Captivate could do it, but then ATT blocked the feature with a firmware update, and offered to give it back for $2/month. I'll keep digging and see if I can find anything else
Have you tried spoofapp? I don't know if caller ID spoofing would be acceptable for your need or not. I've never used it, so I don't know what kind of configuration it would take, but it seems like a hassle. You "place" the call, spoofapp calls you back, when you answer it connects your call with the desired spoofed ID

yeah I looked at it but you have to pay credits into the thing which means paying on a regular basis. So kind of defeating the purpose of it. I do appreciated the look around for it though. I saw the same post either on here or android central.
Just an FYI, many people, myself included won't answer calls where somebody has blocked their Caller ID. That's why we have Caller ID in the first place, so we know who's calling

You miss the point, if you are on the contact list you would be privy to seeing my ID come up anyways. Its people that don't need to have a non work private number that are not deserving of it since you really don't want people from work having the number unless its needed.

Make a Google voice account. When you don't want people to have your regular number, call them with GV and they will have that number.

[Q] Verizon GS3 Caller ID problems

Every time i receive an incoming call, the caller ID displays the number in a weird format. ex. +2223334444 (only displays + sign, area code and phone number).
For my understanding, the PLUS sign should be followed by a COUNTRY CODE which is 1. then the area code in PARENTHESIS and phone numbers with a DASH in between. My caller ID is displaying the incoming phone number in a string so that it is not recognized by my contact list.
I am having trouble to fix this issue by adjusting setting, there is no option under PHONE > MENU > CALL SETTINGS > ADDITIONAL SETTINGS
All i have under the additional settings menu are Call barring, Noise reduction, and Fixed dialing numbers.
My Verizon GS3 is rooted and unlocked to use AT&T prepaid SIM. Nothing major got changed except switching the network to GSM. Is that something Verizon has done to cripple their own SCH-i535 version? Any way to get my caller ID back to display the proper format with dash and parenthesis?
Thanks!
Sorry can't help but I'm curious, what do you consider a Major change?

Not sure about stock as I'm running Synergy, maybe stock from Verizon has more or possibly Verizon doesn't allow those options and the videos are from a different version.
