Notification Pulldown Mod on ICS? - T-Mobile LG G2x

Is there a way to add like a separate section for 'Ongoing'. I'm tired of pulling down the bar and going to click a text msg and then hitting Juice Defender.
Or should I just slow my roll and wait for everything to settle itself and then click?
I feel like I've seen a mod somewhere. It was for the ICS pulldown for gingerbread roms, I think.
I dunno anymore.
EDIT: I'm using the AOSP Eaglesblood. If there's this functionality in AOKP, Hellfire or maybe that CM9/AOKP hybrid, maybe I'll switch for now. :O

Which MIUI Rom?

Which MIUI rom is the "best" for the g2x? I'm a little bored of CM7 and would like to try something else.
Try them all...
Is there a main "official" one? The thing is, I don't know too much about it because I guess XDA doesn't allow it or MIUI doesn't allow it on XDA?
There is jface and whitehawks port so only 2 to choose from.
For me personally I prefer whitehawkx version stems to have all features and everything is stable compared to jface

On whitehawkx right now. No issues whatsoever. This is a stable as I've ever seen an ASOP rom.

I like the rom only reason i switched is mms pics i got were soo little i could hardly see them. I asked in 3 different forums and got no reply.
For users with tiny mms picture problem. Download GO SMS and set it to 1.2 MB and "Preserve Image Size" and you'll get good MMS pics.
Whats the best kernel to use with these roms?
Any cm7 kernel will theoretically work, I used faux though

I know, but miui has a beautiful messaging app, why should we have to use 3rd party bloatware..
I'm using miui4g2x 1.8.19 by jumaaneface
Seems to be a big step in the right direction over the very first MIUI ported ROM I tried.
WiFi Calling would make it perfect. Battery seems to be good.
I'm downloading 1.8.26 by Whitehawx now:
http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?t=1858&page=45
I'll compare the two and figure out which one I like better. I really enjoy the blue default theme by jumaaneface. I don't think anything has been changed or updated other then using the latest 1.8.26 build (no G2x tweaks).
Update:
I don't really see any framework differences. I don't like the Boot Animation of Whitehawx. The one from jumaaneface had a sweet MIUI boot animation. Whitehawx 1.8.26 has the WiFi Calling app but it isn't seeing my SIM Card (which is the problem they've been having)... so no extra benefit there.
Music isn't FCing on the newer build which is a plus. There is also a DND (Do Not Disturb) app which wasn't in the older rom.
I could be wrong but battery seems to be chewing through the new build. From 8am-2pm I was at 60%. I flashed the new rom and booted up at ~55% and within 2 hours I'm down to 40%.
I did flash 1.8.26 over 1.8.19 so I'm not sure of any apps I carried over, only the new apps and features.
Running stock MIUI with stock kernel and Go Launcher.
Battery is awesome i can last a full work day without having to plug in.
After using it for a few days, I'm pretty disappointed.
1. There's no "all apps" button.
2. No 2g/3g toggle built into toggles.
3. Can't even use PowerControl because you can't change its parameters.
4. Battery life seems worse than Cynogen.
5. When typing in URL, it will randomly close the keyboard.
6. Can't add custom shortcuts.

For starters use Go Launcher. They pair nicely. Else put a folder on the launcher bar and drop all apps in there.
Also use 8.19 because the latest one 8.26 killed my battery.
Why use powercontrol when you have every toggle in the pull down?
8.19 comes with swipe but the stock GB keyboard has a wonky dictionary. The fix is to just download the GB KB from the market and switch to it. It may also solve the hiding keyboard cause I haven't a problem with the market version.
The only downside I've found is that Maps doesn't appear to be intregreted very well with the stock browser. Usually I'll get a pop-up asking to open the link with the actual Google Map app which is easier to use on a mobile.
LG G2x - 2.3.5 MIUI Love
Asus TF - Custom 3.2
Whitehawks is great, never tried jumaaneface.
If you're a Wind user in Canada you cannot use whitehawkx MIUI because data does not work. You have to use face MIUI.
Switching back to CM7. MIUI is pretty terrible in my opinion.
miui 1.9.9
whitehawk version 1.9.9
Was using miui 1.9.2 and it ran great with minor issues like my led home lights would shut off and the only way to get them back was from the led setting or reboot. Sometimes my phone would just turn off thinking it was asleep but was actually off. I would have to pull the battery out to turn it back on. I downloaded 1.9.9 but haven't tried yet using weapon g2x 2.5 and so far everything is running smooth with no issues. I had to uninstall tw launcher cause it was force closing now everything is great.

MIUI Dialer for CM7

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the MIUI dialer, as I'm sure most of you do who has used it before, but it was never available outside MIUI...
well now it is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329172
This is just the dialer and contacts apps... it still piggybacks off of the CM7 Answer and In-Call screens (meh). But much needed.
Thanks for posting this here, didn't know about it.
I flip through the Android Development forums often. Posted there are apps, games, themes, and other stuff that isn't specific to one phone. This just caught my eye. Aside from the nice overlay, it also allows SmartDial that stock does not. I've tried several alternative dialers and they all "feel weird". This one works just like you would expect it too.
I found a MIUI theme for cm7:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189723
I find MIUI to be laggy and cm7 to be better, try this out if you like the look of MIUI!
Meh that theme never worked right on my phone. I couldn't get the transparent status bar to work easily enough to want to do that Every time I flash a nightly. And the black version wouldn't be bad except the nasty orange line under the notification menu.

Are these toggles possible?

Do you think we can have toggles like this?
I like it
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Its different from the 14/15 toggle mod, but in a good way. It makes use of all the empty real estate the drop down menu has available
Check with silver03wrx, or peruse his rom thread in the Development section... I recall seeing these type of "On / Off" toggles in his rom screenshots.
They're available on cm9 alpha 2 with reloaded mod.
^ Yep. What ATDI dude said.
I thought I remembered seeing those toggles a month or so ago.
Screenshots here (though it's not the ICS holo theme):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531222
The specific screenshot in the OP here, came from the "Holo-Mega-Blue" theme for Nova Launcher for AOKP M5:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22300103
but the toggles themselves are part of the AOKP build. Not sure whether they originated from CM9 or AOKP though.

[Q] how to identify Samsung mods to 4.0.4?

I am considering CM9 for my P3100. I don't know all that much about Android, and this is the only ICS device I have access to.
From the photos in the CM9 dailies post, the popup menu you get by tapping at lower right seems quite different in CM9 compared to what I have on my tablet.
I have rooted it and upgraded to 4.0.4, and I have replaced the Samsung launcher with the stock launcher. But I like having the widget-style icons within that popup menu to turn wifi/3g/etc on and off, and I like being able to go to Setup via the popup menu. Are these Samsung custom modifications to 4.0.4 that I would lose in CM9?
Many thanks,
No those are ICS features. Any ics rom should have toggles and setting shortcut. On AOKP/cm9 you can choose which toggles you want displayed and easily hide/show them from the notification pop up

OK, good to hear!
Yes, "notification menu", "toggles". I have yet to learn the language.
Sent from my GT-P5113 using XDA Premium HD app
I'm actually quite disappointed by the change in look and feel from flashing CM9.
The notification bar is quite different; the toggles are there but they take an extra tap to get to. The notification layout looks primitive, as though it is an earlier version.
The camera app and music player app also look like older versions, less elegantly designed.
I guess I wasn't asking the right question in the original post. The capabilities are all there but Samsung must have redesigned the interface---not just the launcher but also the notification bar and some apps. I'm sorry to have lost that, although I know i can go back to stock.

Carbon Rom Notification Pull down menu problem!

So. I have been trying to figure out how to make the pull down notification menu not go to the tiles portion when I first pull it down. This didn't happen to me in my other AOSP roms, but carbon for some reason goes straight to the tiles (I want the normal pull down with the option to go to tiles next). And I am not pulling down with two fingers, just one. Usually I pull down and my power widget and notifications are there etc.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
-a confused man.
I'm not on carbon anymore but there is an option in the settings to change that just look around in all of the options available and you would be shocked and what you can do .. wish I remembered were it was but I was happy myself when I found it so I know what you mean
Cool thanks I will keep looking. What are you running now if you don't mind me asking?

I switched back to liquidsmooth for the time being and have been real tempted to try slim bean out but not sure yet
Found the option haha. Also another question. What launcher did you use with carbon. I'm trying to expand my home screen size but can't find an option on the stock launcher. Example 6x6

I was using nova launcher with carbon ... im using next launcher currently but nova launcher is a very good launcher for custom roms plenty of choices not sure if that is one of them tho but feel free to check it out ... apex is one many people recommend as well ... cant remember what launcher came stock with carbon?
isn't their an option to have it go straight to quick settings tiles if u set it if u pull down on the right or left side of the pull down bar..
try pulling down on the left..
