CM/SuperOSR users survey: State your Radio version & GPS status - HTC ChaCha

If you use (or could try) SuperOSR or CM7 for Chacha, please report here your Baseband (Radio) version and if GPS is or not working for you (does it get fix, in outside clear sky conditions at least, or does it never get any fix, even in the most ideal condition)?
Rom:
Baseband Version:
GPS working? Yes / No
You can easily get that information by running:
adb shell
# getprop ro.build.version.incremental
# getprop gsm.version.baseband
Thanks in advance

ROM: SuperOSR
[ro.build.version.incremental]: [eng.adlx.20120210.125848]
[ro.build.date]: [Fri Feb 10 12:59:24 CET 2012]
Radio:
[ro.baseband]: [7.51.35.19]
[gsm.version.baseband]: [ 47.23.35.3033H_7.51.35.19]
GPS:
First fix in 17 seconds. (Using GPS tester)
Second fix in 3 seconds. (Using Sygic)

# getprop | grep increm
[ro.build.version.incremental]: [20120319]
# getprop | grep baseband
[ro.baseband]: [7.51.35.19]
[gsm.version.baseband]: [ 47.23.35.3033H_7.51.35.19]
GPS is working fine, using either gpsstatus and google maps.

From what I see the stable OSR/CM builds already run fine on radio 7.51.35.19 (ruu_chacha_htc_asia_wwe_1.57.707.2_radio_47.23.35.3033h_7.51.35.19_release_228383_signed.zip)
I'd be interested to know on which radio does GPS not work .

One question before I try the image:
Does your Wifi stay online when the screen is switched off?
I had the problem: Although I set Wifi standby to "never" it disconnected some moments after the phone screen switched off. That happend when I disabled UMTS-Internet. You can try it if you use Google Talk or Airdroid. I didn't have anything else running and after some minutes of phone inactivity I wasn't able to connect to the phone via Airdroid anymore.
So that was besides the GPS problem the 2nd problem I had with Super OSR.

i did all possible combinations of radio last week and finally got it working. not sure what sequence i followed, even i tried to go back to stock and MIUI.....

Mine is always online, 8 hours a day.
Funny thing, I have never flashed anything 1.57, only EU RUU's, the latest one being 1.54 (afaik). Can't figure if I manually flashed a newer radio but it could be possible.

Online, yes... But google talk messages arrive from time to time only, AirDroid does not work some minutes after the screen goes off. Did you try that?

Here's a screenshot- can't use pc I'm afraid as I'm slightly injured!
Gps doesn't work, no flashing symbol and of course therefore no fix or any satellites found.

GPS doesn't work.

I might add, I changed to the latest rom over the weekend as was getting fc on Google framework -gps worked in that rom. Radio hadn't changed.

Hi
I've got SuperOSR the 29th march version. I'm just downloading the 2.5-latest one now.
My baseband version is:
47.23.35.3033H_7.51.35.19
And unfortunately, GPS doesn't work one bit, it can't find any satellites and doesn't show any flashing icon in the status bar. I used GPS Test on the market, and it did nout :/
I'm s-on, so I don't think I can change my radio (correct me if I'm wrong). But I'll try the latest version and see if it works on my chacha
If not, I'll change to the version Alex C is using, cos I really want GPS working
EDIT: GPS doesn't work on the 2.5-Latest version now trying the version Alex C is using because I have the same baseband version
EDIT2: For some reason it didn't work still exactly the same results, even when using the same version as Alex with the same radio version

Thanks, could you please post the incremental version line from the build.prop? No need to flash, just open the zip, the filter is in system. Just want to check something. Thx

You want that from the version I came from?
Just looked and I have all the rom/zip for months on my card! Can't tell which it was im afraid.
I do have a cwm backup, I guess easiest is to backup current, flash old - get info for you, flash current back on.
sent usin' tapatalk innit.

Damned thing I can't figure why it ain't working.
Need one guy willing to do a test:
1. Flash your latest stock ROM (perform a full data/cache/dalvik-cache wipe before)
2. Go outside and open up some sort of GPS application (GPS Tester for example, for free on the market)
3. After you get a fix, flash the latest SuperOSR/CM build (with a full data/cache/dalvik-cache wipe before)
4. Same as 2.
If it works, then we might have a fix, if it doesn't then I have no idea whatsoever what the hell is happening.
*It might also be a problem related to radio versions. As not all regions have the same radio version released, flashing a different region radio version might cause abnormal behaviour, so that would be another test. Waiting for some results regarding this one. In the meantime, I'll go do some more research on radio regions.

Just got this off the back of my head. For the guys in US, or anyone without a working GPS, can you do a short test:
1. Switch to airplane mode (to turn off GSM network)
2. Using a GPS Testing application go outside and check if you get a fix (~5 minutes)
Post any replies here, together with above request if anyone wants to help.

Test Build of SuperOSR for GPS
Hi,
As an alternative to what Alex.C is asking, and I'd prefer if you could do it even before:
For those who have GPS not working at the moment, could you please test this build http://goo.im/devs/adlx/chacha/superosr/test/SuperOSR-chacha-2.5-test-GPS.zip and see if GPS will now work?
If you already have GPS working, it should still work with this one, so don't bother testing and don't report here if it work.
Do this please ONLY if at the moment GPS isn't working for you with either CM7 or SuperOSR. Don't change radio or anything, just flash the new test build (full wipe before).

This one worked for me:
1. Using CM7, i made a backup with CWM
2. Flash 1.54 europe
3. Get the fix
4. Restore the CM7 with CWM.
Maybe because i flashed a custom rom on the first day that i had the chacha and don't remember if i have had any fix before flashing from the stock.

NAND installation:
-flash the signed_ruu.nbh with the custom_ruu.exe from latest build.zip for best performance and use the radio from post 3. The kernel used is latest 2.6.25 kernel (stable) with default 460mhz cpu speed.
Alternative:
-use the Haret files.zip provided and extract in andboot folder on sd card and run haret.exe
-install the rom as usual (haret mode disables some fetures of the rom as harware aceleration and market)
What works:
-Market
-WI-FI
-Bluetooth
-Camera
-Live Wallpapers
-GPS
-3G data conection
-SWAP an Apps2SD
-More...
What doesn't work:
-Youtube
-Video recording
-Playng video is posible with the latest update and a 3rd party Videoplayer
Please FEEDBACK to help improve.
Feel free to modify, make this rom better, and post the results.
I don't take any responsability if your phone bricks or malfuctions using this ROM.

-Added superuser.apk an su support
what is your exact radio ? I test this rom with orbit 2 - Camera usually hangd and I could not connect via 3G ! however it seem to be stable. innitially, previos radio make my devices like a battery consumpting beast ^_^
hello
My radio is 1.59.44.02, and the kernel used is 2.6.25 (latest radio for polaris)... camera is fine... about 3g connection: it works fine in safe mode... and in starting in normal mode... will fix it.. soon.
SRY... i found about this yesterday when i bough some mobile internet...
this is the radio, extract and flash with custom ruu from first post.
thanks man ! I wonder that why your image is nearly 100MB why other froyo is around 70MB , one more question is that I could not device the Flash in to 90MB of system and 128M of data by using atools because the android installer couldnot install ( like it could not affirm the partition size )
Is this firmware could recognize swap ? and is 3D hardward enable ? I could not test by NeoCore ^_^
Thanks for your great work! It runs very smooth and fast on my O2 Orbit2 and the battery seems to be fine also (as far I can say after one day testing).
Nevertheless, there is one very important thing that is not working: I cannot get the access to the market ("com.google.android.googleapps") and it's also impossible to log in my google account (probably same issue)
I used the kernel you provided.
the size of the image is 100mb becouse of the archiving. it is simply tar not tgz so it is stored, if u want more data u have suport for apps 2 sd (works great witht multi partition ex2 and fat32). yes it has hardware acceleration... a bit buggy... an it has suport for swap i use 160 mb swap.. 3g data works... it's a bug i discovered... delete all apn and leave them blank (the rom has a list of lots of apns and it choses the best one...) close all data conections and enable them again...if it does not work in settings (sometimes it doesn't) use smart bar or something do toggle data on and off(it worked for me)..about the market... if u are on nand it should work... i had no problems... what radio, what nbh are u using? it fits in 102 mb of system... frouyo is arhived that's why it is 70 mb.
com.google.android.googleapps is this giving u an error? force close ot something? i will make an update... to try... i am sry, on my device it works, so i will look into it... how do u try to connect onto your g account? 3g or wifi? do u have a polaris 200 (o2 xda orbit 2) what radio are u using?
Market problem fixed by post 15.
As for hardware aceleration see picture below. (sometimes the app gets stuck when i touch the screen i dunno why)
I think this room have problem with charging and recognize the battery
what happened? you have to replug after phone reboot... this is the only issue...

ion_plugged, thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, it didn't work, com.google.android.googleapps till forces close. It doesn't make a difference if I connect by wifi or 3G and I tried both the original german O2 radio ROM and your radio. I will try to install some other android ROM to check if the error is persistent.
ion_plugged, I tried several other ROMs (Incubus Froyo, Myn's warm Eclair, VaniljEclair) with different Kernels and they all sync to google without any problem. My phone is a german O2 Orbit2.
My o2 orbit is also german and the procces is registering. Well i will try to figure out what is going on on your device. how do u install the rom? with install sh or via sdvwith loader. Do u wipe data before?
Sent from my O2 Xda Orbit 2
I installed the ROM via the Android Installer and wiped the data directory.
So here is the fix...hopefully

Hi ion_plugged, I'm the beginner of android. After flash your new rom, I download the laterest version of HTC sync & install to my pc. But, it can't sync when I plugged the usb cable to my polaris 100. Can you tell me what should I do, thx!
U connect the polaris in recovery mode to the pc... and then u hit quit.. android will load as normalk... the fphone is in sd sharing mode... i did not test htc sync.. will try. I have widows 7.
install .apk apps
Sorry ion_plugged, I just know use astro to install apk apps in android. But, it can't attached in your rom. Can you advise any other method to install the apk apps in sd. Thanks again!

Instructions for u8110 IM NOT RESPONSIBLE DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK
Note -
The t-mobile pulse mini has the wrong baseband setting thingy to fix this we must flash a patch + Swedish telenor ROM. Without this u8110 will have no signal/3g/2g
Step 1.
First we must download the patch from -> here <- You need to have a mocado account.
Inside there is a dload folder and a updtata.app file inside that. Place the whole dload folder on the root of the sd.
Step2
Now we must put the sd back in and reboot with end call and volume up ^ pressed down. This will automatically flash it.
Step 3
Now we must download the sweden telenor rom. -> here<-
Step 4
Delete the dload folder from your sd and replace it with the dload folder from the sweden telenor rom (you will need winrar or 7zip)
Step5
Now we must put the sd back in and reboot with end call and volume up ^ pressed down. This will automatically flash it. This one will take a bit longer.
Step 6
This will remove amora recovery and must be reinstalled from -> here <- install it via fastboot. ( you must have the drivers installed available from huawei website ) Put it in bootloader (volume down , end call and power button) Then double click install superboot or something (batch file)
Step 7
Now flash my rom. ( flash zip from sd , find the zip) IN RECOVERY (Volume Up + Green Call button and power.)
Step 8
Flash Google apps -> here <- ( flash zip from sd , find the zip)
Step 9
Now do usual wipes ( dalvik cache)
Step 10

hi
first i want to thank you for your hard work on this great rom. Ive been using it quite a while and not much was improved in last few months. There is a lot developers but it seem like everyone of them is working for himself and when they release something new we all rush to test his rom. And trust me that has become realy annoying, having to test 5-6 roms every few days instead you all join forces and try to make 1 (or few) perfect rom. I appreciate the work u have done so far and i also know that making roms is not your top priority and that its not a small thing to fix all the problems. But wouldnt it be better if u all try to solve the problems together and not every men for himself, couse this ist going anywhere. Soon will have more than 10 roms with almost no differences and(from my point of view) u are not even close to figure it out.
Once again i appreciate your work and i didnt mean anything bad i was just expressing my opinion
Thanks
hmmmm seems very good! keep it up
This rom work on the u8350, but there's just a little problem with the screen position .
Not working GPS, Accelerometar, compas and camera.
On t-mobile pulse mini - with swedish telenor and flashed your ROM
Any solution ?
works really nicely on t-mobile pulse mini
After first flashing with the Telenor ROM and then reflashing twice with this one (plus clearing Dalvik Cache etc) it works really well on a T-Mobile pulse mini (u8110).
Its responsive, battery life is as bad as normal for the phone (around a day) and everything works aside from the camera (no great loss there) and I can't get screen rotation working.
Great job, thanks.
Update: After testing for some days the battery life is improved. Youtube video does not play. Phone generally much better than before and quite stable.

[Solved] Can no longer acquire data...

I loaded rom over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425344, and ever since I loaded it, I can no longer acquire data on my device. WIFI works, but radio data doesn't. I had the v5 rom before, and it was fine, then i followed the instructions and loaded v7 and I can not get data anymore.
I've tried reverting back to V5 as well as loading other roms, but my data is still not working. Does anyone know what may have happened for me to lose my data connection?

There are quite a few radios for AT&T and some are capped meaning throttled at slow speeds for example:
Capped - UCKD1 = .5 to 1.0 mbps
Uncapped- KB3XX= 3.0 to 5.0 mbps
=]
- Google
I went to the radio thread
and tried flashing several different radios and then following your steps to get data back. (also tried "method 1" from here)
But I was never able to successfully recover my data. The only way I was ever able to get data again, was when I flashed a gingerbread rom from this thread (Android 2.3.4/GTJ61/UCKE1 Radio/KA3 Bootloader)
However, when I tried to flash back the CYBER-GR ICS rom, I'm still data-less. I seem to also be getting the same issue, from the kang project rom...
Oh and I forgot to mention that i'm on a I9020A on Rogers(Canada), if that info is of any help..
Edit:
So it turns out that I seem to have lost my IMEI, and it's now set to the default 0049999010640000. Having searched around, it seems like there's no actual way to fix this. However, thought it says that, on a gingerbread stock rom, the phone still works fine, just no data on ICS... Is there anything that I might have missed to fix it? Or am I going to be forced to stay on gingerbread now?
i am having the same problem with the ics bugless beast rom
i too am also on rogers (i9020a) and cannot get 3g data. i have tried many radios and nothing. but as soon as i go back to GB 2.3.6 everything works :/.
can u check something for me... not sure if uve already checked but lol can u make sure u have Data Enabled in settings / wireless settings ... ^_^

* Your warranty is now void.
* This requires an unlocked bootloader and I used TWRP 3.0.0.0 to flash
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, etc...
Instructions
If installing fresh and/or coming from another ROM
1) Reboot into Recovery (Please use the latest TWRP) and MAKE A BACKUP!
2) Wipe System, Data, Cache, and Dalvik Cache
3) Flash Latest OFFICIAL STOCK ROM - This will ensure a clean system and all bootloader etc updated to latest. (Good idea)
4) Wipe System, Data, Cache, and Dalvik Cache
5) Flash the ROM
6) Flash GApps (i used Opengapps nano)

Extras included in this rom are: Smartbar, Network traffic speed indicator and CMTE.
I got an FC on AudioFX but ended up installing busybox and subsequently V4A and I don't have any more FC
Please leave feedback. I will post my findings too. :good:
Whats broken so far...
Camera: Its getting there....
DT2W: I will try and add this in the next build
Radio for castor isnt working
If the ROM for the Castor-LTE is ready and downloadable I will test it 5 minutes later
here you go!

Downloading.... and making a backup now
Problem:
Flashed TWRP 3.0.0 with fastboot and then TWRP doesn't start
Flashed back to TWRP 2.8x. Flashing the CM13 ZIP results in an immediately rebooting TWRP after 2 seconds.
Then flashed the kernel from the CM13 Zipfile and tried the CM Recovery==> checksum error for the flashable CM13 ZIP.
What do I wrong?
---------- Post added at 06:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:45 PM ----------
all reloaded and made again form start! Now it's flashing and booting CM13
More about the test install later.....
Flashed original Firmware and wiped all for 2 times and then flashed ROM + Gapps:
CM13 is booting but not recognize SIM-Card neither WLAN
It claims "No SIM-card" and enabling WLAN cycles endless.....

Thanks for testing. I'll have to look into that. I personally have castor_windy and my wlan is working.

Perhaps missing Blob's ??

stable for daily use (I use WiFi version), much better than original SONY MM ROM in terms of lags, battery friendly
bugs: mostly not working camera (not important to me), missing DT2W, crashing AudioFX (unless disabled)
today I'm going to test charging, have last 6% in battery
thanks to @bacon612 for this ROM, excellent work, hope you will implement DT2W soon
Edit: switched to AOSP 7.1 for now, had 3 random reboots in cca 5 days, so going to test stability in N
Does the kernel/ROM support quick charge as well as the latest stock?
On Android Host are two new builds with new dates.
Are this automatic builds or do they contain any new fixes?
Especially my castor has no Wlan and no LTE with the first build? I think there are some blobs missing.
But no comment from the author up to now

Hi there. I just did a repo sync and built to include whatever Cyanogenmod has merged until 11/11 including November security patch. You can try the castor build to see if it works but I haven't changed anything. If you let me know that it didn't work for you I'll try to get it to work.
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA-Developers mobile app
OK I will try it.
But all the behaviour of the not-activating-wlan is like some weeks before with the AOSP build. You can enable the WLAN and wait forever...... Or it claims the SIM-card as "not present"
In AOSP it was clearly solved after they added the appropriate binaries. After this all was running as expected. WLAN and LTE
Can you have a look on this?
I think the CM releases are only for devices without LTE and contain nothing (BLOBS) for activating LTE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68138341&postcount=10
Tested (flashed)
No WLAN and no LTE
1. SIM card not detected
2. Activation WLAN runs forever
WLAN claims MAC Address: 02:00:00:00:00:00
Neverever can this be true!
I did test that on an SGP511. The 20161111 is not rly useable as I cound't access/see any item in the status bar. Also notifications wouldn't pop up.
20161031 works almost fine but the auto-brightness sometimes seems to be off. As some already wrote: AudioFX crashes always when any app tries to use it. And charging is quite slow either i do use an Anker Quick Charge capable so it loads faster on Stock Rom.
Edit: I also happend to come across 5 times where the tablet would reboot during intense play/testing (using 2 diff. speed clickers).
Generally: How can i disable Cm Recovery? There is no option to disable "update cyanogen recovery" in dev options, so i can't get twrp running (except i do flash the multirom img). Btw. will there be any update of the rom?
The development of this ROM is IMO dead.
Since a long time nor further builds and no solution for not running LTE
Ah well, the dev. seems to not regulary check in. And after Nougat+Lineage it wouldn't be of surprise the development gets stucked. So that's why i am waiting on an (un-)official answer.

LineageOS on Zenfone 3 Max! (ZC553KL)

I've got LineageOS 15.1 to (kind of) work on the Zenfone 3 Max.

We are nowhere near ready for real-world use, as currently very few things work. Nevertheless, I figure some of you might be interested in developing for the Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL. I myself will continue to work on getting more features functional. Any help is welcome, and so is any question!
Right now, mobile (call & network), Wi-Fi, USB transfer (or ADB), camera, and probably nearly everything else don't work. Bluetooth works.
See what works and what doesn't here: https://github.com/wishawa/android_device_asus_X00D/blob/lineage-15.1/README.md#progress
So far, Audio, USB, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Camera, sensors (gyro, light, etc.), GPS are working.
Telephony (call) is not working.
Details and source on Github: https://github.com/wishawa/android_device_asus_X00D/
Download the ROM: https://github.com/wishawa/android_device_asus_X00D/releases
I couldn't get TWRP working so use this older version here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/how-to/zenfone-3-max-zc553kl-bootloader-unlock-t3691837
For builders:
To extract proprietary blobs, use official ROM image downloaded from ASUS here: https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-3-Max-ZC553KL/HelpDesk_Download/
Also, install will fail (with error 7) with this old TWRP version. Follow this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522762
I am very interested in what you do to make lineageos work on this phone.
Actually I own two of them, I just bought a secondary one to try to give tries to alternate OS.
Let us know about your progresses, and I also may help (I do not know Android very well, but I know far more about Linux!).
i love you

Thank you!
I have a problem that I believe might be related to Linux.
I've been trying to build TWRP for the device, but I couldn't get touchscreen to work. TWRP seems to interpret holding down finger as touching and lifting quickly, making it impossible to slide ('slide to unlock', 'slide to adb sideload', etc).
I suspect this might be related to this warning I get when building the kernel:
Code:
drivers/input/touchscreen/ft5436/Kconfig:2:warning: ignoring type redefinition of 'TOUCHSCREEN_FT5436_DRIVER' from 'boolean' to 'tristate'
If I am wrong, or you know how this might be fixed or need any more information, please tell me. Thanks!

Your question looks driver-specific but the problem seems generic. You may try to clean up your compilation environment and rerun make again.
You may also grep your kernel config file against TOUCHSCREEN_FT5436_DRIVER to enable/disable features about this driver.
I can't help much more on this topic!

Cleaning the environment didn't help.
TOUCHSCREEN_FT5436_DRIVER is set to y in the config. But does this warning mean the driver is not being built?

No, a warning is not a failure to build.
Your driver should be available and loadable with modprobe.
PS: Please contact me by e-mail (cf. PM) since I cannot spend so much time on validating reCAPTCHA for each post.
Wi-Fi is somewhat working! (some networks won't connect; don't know what's with my home wifi, but another phone's hotspot works well)
Now that I can ADB over network (USB still broken), development should be faster!
2.4GHz Wi-Fi now working well, and camera and USB are working.
Flashable zip available for anyone wanting to try: https://github.com/wishawa/android_device_asus_X00D/releases/tag/pre-alpha-0.0.1
I have a problem: com.android.phone has crashed every second and reboot. On my zc553kl this firmware doesn't work.
do the fingerprint really won't work??
I have found a newer version of twrp 3.2.3 on twrp builder site. hope this helps. Credits to the owner. Looking forward for the development of this rom.

Thankyou for reporting! I'm working on fixing the telephony features, but has been quite busy lately.
By 'reboot' do you mean the whole OS crash and reboot? or just the com.android.phone restarts.
Also, if it isn't too much trouble would you mind getting a logcat? (tutorial, if you need; https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238) It would allow me to verify that we are running into the same problems.

Sadly not yet. It should be possible, I just haven't got to it.

Thank you very much. Will test it out. Do you know if the owner provide the source tree for building anywhere?

Same question. I really like it but I really hope the telephony thing would work. Although bluetooth works fine with my wireless speaker.

That's probably because of the telephony not working.
Any updates on the rom?
