I loaded rom over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425344, and ever since I loaded it, I can no longer acquire data on my device. WIFI works, but radio data doesn't. I had the v5 rom before, and it was fine, then i followed the instructions and loaded v7 and I can not get data anymore.
I've tried reverting back to V5 as well as loading other roms, but my data is still not working. Does anyone know what may have happened for me to lose my data connection?

**if not flash a capped radio and then follow the steps***

Hey, thanks for the reply. I moved the files from nfs to the sdcard root, but my data still doesnt seem to work.
When you say flash a capped radio, what do you mean by capped?

There are quite a few radios for AT&T and some are capped meaning throttled at slow speeds for example:
Capped - UCKD1 = .5 to 1.0 mbps
Uncapped- KB3XX= 3.0 to 5.0 mbps
=]
- Google
I went to the radio thread
and tried flashing several different radios and then following your steps to get data back. (also tried "method 1" from here)
But I was never able to successfully recover my data. The only way I was ever able to get data again, was when I flashed a gingerbread rom from this thread (Android 2.3.4/GTJ61/UCKE1 Radio/KA3 Bootloader)
However, when I tried to flash back the CYBER-GR ICS rom, I'm still data-less. I seem to also be getting the same issue, from the kang project rom...
Oh and I forgot to mention that i'm on a I9020A on Rogers(Canada), if that info is of any help..
Edit:
So it turns out that I seem to have lost my IMEI, and it's now set to the default 0049999010640000. Having searched around, it seems like there's no actual way to fix this. However, thought it says that, on a gingerbread stock rom, the phone still works fine, just no data on ICS... Is there anything that I might have missed to fix it? Or am I going to be forced to stay on gingerbread now?
i am having the same problem with the ics bugless beast rom
i too am also on rogers (i9020a) and cannot get 3g data. i have tried many radios and nothing. but as soon as i go back to GB 2.3.6 everything works :/.
can u check something for me... not sure if uve already checked but lol can u make sure u have Data Enabled in settings / wireless settings ... ^_^

So I know I WAS rooted at one point, up until about a week ago. Then all of a sudden a few days ago I went to flash the latest CM6 nightly, and opened up TitaniumBackup to make sure I had everything backed up. It said that it didn't have root access. I rooted back on 1.5 or 1.6, using Fresh's 1-click method. Will that still work even though I'm running a Froyo ROM now? Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find anything searching. I can still boot to recovery, and flash ROMs, but the apps that require root access (TitaniumBackup, drocap2, Superuser, wifi tether) say they can't gain root access. I did flash a file suggested by impaler to try to fix issues with adding SU permissions, and it seems that this issue started about that time.
I can't install the Android SDK (no internet access besides my phone, and that doesn't want to play nice with the servers for some reason), so I should specify that this should be non-ADB if possible.

Universal AndRoot. Check it out. http://bit.ly/aa4jxJ
Unfortunately, that didn't work. Titanium still says it can't acquire root. I tried both options, and both times it said failed.
I had that happen once and when I checked Superuser TB was "denied". I "allowed" it in Super User and it worked.

Will give this a shot later tonight once my phone charges. I hate how it takes so long to charge via USB.
I took this screenshot on the xda app one day way back when I had the same problem you did. I asked for help and this guy got it for me.

Hi there, yes I am a noob here but I searched this and couldnt find anything.
I flashed two HTC one S phones and am having the same issue with both. Everything works great except the mobile data.
Mobile data is turned on in settings, but says disconnected. Wifi works great, the phone makes calls, just no mobile data.
I searched networks and it sees my network "Fido" and even registers with Fido, but it still says disconnected next to the Mobile Data option in settings.
I will try calling our provider I suppose but I am stuck at this point..
I have also wiped cache, and dalvik cache and did a full wipe at install.
Recovery - CWM 5.8.3.1
ROM - ViperOneS_v1.2.0
Please help!
Sorry guys. I got it.
I had to search the carrier specific APN settings and manually enter them.
I didnt read anything about that anywhere and like I said... Im still a noob.
thanks
you dont have by any chance a nandroid backup with the original settings of your fido phone.
or at least the original build.prop

I did a backup from the "backup and restore" option within CWM recovery, just after I had unlocked and rooted. I had not yet installed the the Viper ROM, which leads me to believe it probably still had the correct settings at that time, but not sure.
wow, can you please put that backup somewhere online?
or at least take out the build.prop file from /system folder
pleaseee
PS: CWM recovery just sucks on this model; better use TWRP
If you post the backup Trashking, make sure you note it was made with CWM and needs restored with CWM. As, most of us use TWRP recovery--
so, don't want to make it available for others?

Im also abit worried this backup may contain personal information, as Im not sure I did a full wipe until I installed the rom. This backup was done after I had unlocked and loaded CWM. I'd like to be sure none of my crap is getting posted.
Also,
Can you please explain why CWM is crap for this model? It seems to work fine on mine but perhaps im missing something.
Upon further review, it seems the reasons most people prefer TWRP over CWM for interface reasons.
Im not sure im worried about that.
I have to disagree with a few posts here, you can do everything the same way with both recoveries. You don't need to flash the boot image in fastboot with cwm I've done it myself and I didn't see any difference in speed between the two backing up or restoring.
It's preference on which you choose to use, I'm not saying that either is bad they both have a great support background and are dedicated to quality as they should be, it's the most important software on your device in consideration to root users and without it working properly your taking a very large risk.
Personally believe recovery should be layed out in a manner that is easy to use and functional for all types of users, adding gimmicks to something that should be taken seriously I feel is unnecessary and both teams do a great job of keeping it clean and treat the work as if they are paid to make them.
Both are great at their work, both are worth having. - Orical

Hello -
I have search through the forums and found some info that will help me, but nothing solid that that I can string together .... or it is very OLD advise. I was hoping someone could help me with a few things. I use to be very acctive in this forum back when Hell was creating HellFire ROM ... I help a lot of peeps and hope some kind sole can help me now
I have a T-Mobile LG G2x. I have been modding it and "roming" it since it came out.
Well I have a bad problem now. I installed yet another ROM (MIUI) this time, and threw Go Launcher on top of it. It worked great for about a month. Now I have completly lost data to the phone on the cellular network only. So in other words, if I am on a WiFi connection everything is fine and I have full data connection ( voice and internet and all text/mms messaging ). But as soon as I turn OFF WiFi I lose my data completly. I can still make calls, but that is it. Nothing else data related. If I put WiFi back on then it all works again.
Ok .. so I just went now and did a factory reset then Wiped Cache and System Also I Wiped Delvik Cache and deleted most everything from my SD-Card. Trying to start with a fresh install..... So I flashed lateset CM7 nightly with GB Gapps. I also flashed the APN fix, as I have been doing for a year. I am on the newest BB so I flashed Owens fix in case it was needed. Rebooted the phone and allthough everything is now new and clean, I still have NO DATA via celluar connection 2G or 3G. But WiFi works fine !!
I was getting mad now, so I did all the abouve again and flashed HellFire ROM since I know for a fact that it works. Well once again I still have NO DATA via Celluar !! only data works via WiFi
What the heck could have happened ?? How should I proced from here to try and fix this issue ?? Everything was working fine since last ROM change to ( MIUI ) and that even worked great for like 4 weeks ... no problems at all. Then the data just was GONE one day.
Please advice or offer some idea's please !! I am back on CM7 Nightly now ( see photo ) Mmmmmm In the about screen ( photo bellow ) I see Mobile Network State = Disconnected !!! ????

PS.. Hello Da-Pharho - Hell - Volk & others I forgot :highfive:
Don't know what's wrong here but IMHO you need to go back to stock using either nvflash (ROM for recovery) or LG offline update tool. The problem should not persist but please report your findings.

Yes I did have an older one from 2 months ago. and Data works. But if I flash ANY new ROM at all now ... I loss data. What the heck .... ?
Have you looked under apn? Sometimes my data would drop and apn would be empty until I went in there and reset to defaults. Very weird.
Yeah... TwitchyEye has it I think. Go to your APN settings and make sure you have an appropriate APN selected (for me it was T-Mobile US apc.tmobile.com).
Route to get there is Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names. Also make sure your National Data Roaming is checked off (for T-Mo there were no roaming charges).
Hi everyone,
I'm a bit at a loss here. I have a Lenovo S820 (MTK6589) CN version. I have previously changed to ROW succesfully, changing the modem back to a Chinese version using this page.
Later I tried putting other ROMS on the device by installing zip files through CWM recovery and also using SP-Flash tools. But now I can't get my phone to connect to a network anymore. It doesnt find any network.
I had the problem of losing the IMEI and the NVRAM, but I use Mobileuncletools to put the original IMEI back and also changed the NVRAM back to normal.
I've tried a dozen of different modems (also the one I used before) in combination with a dozen different ROMS but nothing seems to work. I also downloaded STOCK CN roms and flashed those with SP-Flash tools. And you guessed it, didnt work.
So if any of you have some ideas about this, please let me know because I'm already stuck with my old phone now for a month.
Cheers!
Rens
I tried multiple modems on stock ROW and multiple roms for CN devices, but still gps doesnt work.
My opinion is that our Lenovo S820 hasn't have a working gps hardware. Btw, mine is originally ROW version.

I attached the flashable zip of the modem. It should be flashable via cwm. If not, copy both files to the respective path and set the permission.

Thanks for the suggestion, but as said in the description, I already tried multiple modems, inlcuding v101. And now I tried the modem from your zip. But its not working. it correctly displays the modem version in the 'about->versions info' menu, but it keeps on giving errors when looking for network operators.
Any other ideas?
You can readthis thread, it's interesting that there are 3 different approaches try to solve the problem in that thread.
I didn't have this problem ( not yet?). Can't tell which method is better. Maybe you can tell us which works for you.

Thanks for the suggestion, but had already tried all of that..
- I requested the original firmware from the supplier, which has a modem I know should work with the phone.
- I have correct IMEI + NVRAM, no errors whatsoever
Anyone some other ideas on how to solve it?

HEY DUDE GOOD EVENING THIS MODEM THAT YOU SHARED IS FOR S222 OR S223. BECAUSE I TRIED YOUR MODEM AND FLASH IT TO MY FIRMWARE S223 IT DOES FLASHED 100% BUT WHEN i REBOOT TO SYSTEM GO TO SETTING AND CHECK PHONE BUILD NUMBER IT IS STILL THE SAME V105 . :/ IT HASN'T INSTALLED V101 MODEM ... I WANT TO FLASH YOUR MODEM SO I MUST DOWNGRADE TO S222 HOW CAN I PROCEED..
AND YOU GET STRONG SIGNAL OR IT'S LOSES; FOR THE 3G DOES IT WORK
my s820 now has the same problem as yours, how did you solve it ???
Greetings, I have the same problem that was raised at first, my s820 does not connect with anything, if you could tell me what they solved the problem ???. Thank you
I am facing a strange and annoying issue. I think it started since I started using those "Toggle Network" root apps to force 4G only (since our phone has no "LTE only" option).
Basically what happens is that when I am using internet on sim 1, sim 2 starts to lose signal, and, along with this, the sim 1 internet speed drops to the point it is unusable. Sometimes even "x" appears on sim 2 signal.
(Notice the sim 2 signal)

}
However, disabling sim 2 fixes the issue and the internet speed is restored.
(Sim 2 Disabled)
Things to note:
1. This happens frequently.
2. This never happened before I used those apps, mainly "Toggle Network Type 5.0".
3. I restored stock TWRP backup, wiped the system, factory reset.........nothing seemed to fix it.
4. This happened on a previous phone, when I used some "root sms blocker" apps in the era of kitkat/lollipop. I was never able to fix this.
5. Although the coverage of sim 2 isn't great in my area, but why exactly is sim 1 data connection speed is dependent on sim 2 network signals, is beyond me.
TLDR; I Fu***d up my radio signals by using root network apps. No amount of flashing, restoring backups, resetting is fixing it. HELP!!!
