[Q] Lost all networks after nandroid backup? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I was running a stock 4.0.4 GSM, IMM76D and wanted to try out some new ROMs. I did a nandroid backup beforehand and tried flashing Pixel ROM & Slim ICS. I wiped data, cache, dalvik, system, etc. then tried the new ROMs. Something went wrong and I applied the nandroid backup from ClockworkMod.
After the backup, I seem to have lost all network signals. This is what I have:

My Baseband version is "unknown"
I've read a good deal of topics with related problems, but failed to find a solution for my situation. My last resort is flashing the stock 4.0.4 again, but I'd really appreciate it if anyone could help.

seems to me that your efs folder got corrupted and u lost your imei. Did u made a backup of it before starting the flashing spree?
If not, i have bad news for you, you may have to end up sending your Nexus for repair.

If you can't restore your Nexus with factory images as described in the other thread where you posted this morning, take a look here:

Thanks for the replies, guys!
ezio84, I tried EFS Pro. This is what I got:
It says everything should be fine, but still: http://i.imgur.com/oLw1f.png ..no signal. I pressed "Repair NV Data" button and hoped that it might help me. I didn't find any additional instructions on how to use the program in the original thread you linked me to, so I assume this might not be the right way to approach this problem.
I'll try your advice in the other thread on flashing the factory image, after installing the new usb driver.
Again, thank you for your replies!

I did it! I have the network signal again.
I updated the SDK package (which doesn't have anything to do with the solution, but still), and then I flashed a new radio from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884 (KB1 did the job for me)
Pretty simple, but I had to read through something like 20 threads, +500 comments to get to the right answer.
Again, guys, thank you for your help!

Good! Happy for you ;D

What's your phone model? Not Nexus? The radio you mentioned was not for Nexus. Is it OK for Nexus? My Nexus lost baseband and IMEI too. I have not found out how this happened. Maybe nandroid as you said. I used cmw recovery made a backup too... And then, no network signal

updated through LG tool & no baseband now

Solved by just removing battery and sim and sdcard for about a minute then rebooting, not sure what the issue was and why that simple of a task resolved it, but it did!
so I updated through the LG tool no issues there when I booted up skipped through the setup and checked baseband to see that is says unknown. When I searched I only found this issue if you flash an O2X rom... should I just reflash clockwork mod with NVFLASH and then restore 2.2? or go through V21E KDZ Firmware what do you think... I don't NEED my phone RIGHT now so to speak but I do need it, lol.

You would need to use either kdz or LG updater to get your baseband back.

Interesting. I've seen this exact same issue pop up SEVERAL times over the last couple months and people have tried all SORTS of methods of flashing and restoring that never seemed to fix it. Could the fix be that easy? Lol ... Well glad its working for you!

LG G2X with Bionix 1.4 ROM - need help getting back to stock ROM AND auto focus - ?

Hi. Right now, my goal is to get my LG G2X back to stock ROM. Is this possible? I have no backup.
I don't have a backup. Thanks
Also, I don't mind this ROM....it seems to work okay BUT the reason I want to go back to stick is that the auto focus on the camera is not working properly. I tend to think this may be something to do with this ROM. Anyone have a fix for it or heard of this before?
•Current Rom - - bioniX reloaded v1.4.1
•Current kernel - - 2.6.32.9
•If you have done ANY undervolting or overclocking - - i don;t know.
•If you had this problem before (either on other ROM's or previously on your current ROM) - - no, i just want stock
•If you wiped Cache - no
•If you wiped Data - yes
•If you tried installing another ROM - no.
•Any other things you already tried (BE SPECIFIC!) - some research and that is it.

Depending what base band you are on (go in about phone and check what date the base band shows), you flash the stock nand from the link above.
P.s: the way you filled your form reminded me of the "I don't care I want an I phone" anime video on you tube. Lol

Alright! The stock rom is on the phone. However, the rom was not the issue with the phone
Oh well! learning experience. I am going to try and repair the camera
thanks for the help. I did get the nandroid romm flashed over and working great
Well, I found out that it is not the OS that was causing the auto focus problem. So, I took it apart and got the camera off the main board...so easy on this phone I was so happy.
I bought a new one for 11.00 on ebay. just waiting for it to come in now.
In regard to the OS. I was able to flash it back to stock thanks to the nandroid. Thanks for the help.

To show appreciation, clicking the "thanks" button isn't a bad idea. Is it now
If you would have asked, I would have told auto focus is rarely a ROM issue.

Your phone is most likely fine, you just don't have the patience to fix it yourself.

This. Also verizon is probably not gonna be to happy when they see the phone and you ROMed it.
By the way op you may want to switch to Firefox or a browser with spell check. that OP was hard to read.

Please, please, please! Read the stickies in each of this forums subsections. There you will find all the answers.
I make it a rule for myself to always read the stickies when i come to a new forum.
Of course this won't make you a developer but at least you won't be totally clueless like you are now.
Read all the stickies and you will be confident in what you are doing.
If you can't take the time to do this then you probably shouldn't be bothering with custom roms either.
Good luck.
+1

iv read all the stickies already
none of the stickies answered the questions i just asked and iv successfully flashed the custom rom my only problem now is that im not getting any data service
and im still not sure if recovering from samsung kies will cause problems

[Completed] Question about CWM and Galaxy Tab Data Loss

Hello there! I'm new here, lot of experience doing bench-tech repairs, phones, computers, laptops, consoles, web development and graphic design. But 0 experience rooting android and installing custom recovery. I am here because I have a Galaxy Tab 4 (SM-T230NU) that is locked with a pass-code that I don't know. I could do a factory reset but I don't want to lose data. I read another post about flashing a zip file through recovery might help me remove the pass-code. However this device is completely stock, not rooted, no usb debugging, and no custom recovery.
So my question is, can i install ClockworkMod on Galaxy Tab 4 (SM-T230NU) without losing any data? I really only want it so I can remove the pass-code, if there is data loss I may be better off doing a factory reset. (please note, it is not backed or synched to a google account)
Any pointers in the right direction will be most helpful. Thank you XDA!

Again, thank you for your help! I will stick around XDA to help and share my knowledge on phone repairs and whatever else I can help with.

Glad to hear that i was able to help.
