I ran through the fascinate threads a bit and it looks like they are supposed to get an OTA Update to Froyo like today or sometime this week.
I know we have a Gingerbread AOSP ROM in the making, but my question is, once they have like themes and roms and stuff for their Froyo, what is the likelihood of us getting some ports?
I figure since most of our theme roms at least are ports from the Fascinate, we would be able to port more.

Technically possible. I even saw a thread where someone changed their Mesmerize into a Fascinate (it's the same hardware) but that's messy stuff so I wouldn't recommend just jumping into something like that if you don't know what you're doing.
However, I think the priority right now is to get 2.3 up and running which is, arguably, a lot better.
Yeah I agree with you on the last part. I was thinking about going through the whole "Fascinate your Mesmerize" think but it doesn't really seem worth it.

Also, once 2.3 is up and running anything 2.2 can by ported..
Is there going to be a Honeycomb ROM for the Inspire? Is anyone working on one right now or is somebody planning on making one? I'd love to know if and when one is going to be released.
You do know that Honeycomb is a tablet ROM, right? Why do you want it on your phone? The whole point of it is that phone ROMs aren't ideal on tablets, so why does everyone think that a tablet ROM will work great on their phone?

oh, I didn't know it was a tablet ROM...nevermind then. So is the best thing I can get Gingerbread? Also, what's the newest version of HTC Sense and do any ROMS have it?

Sense 2.1 and I believe CoreDroid runs it.
Sent from someplace using something to send it.
Any ROM utilizing Gingerbread can run Sense 2.1. Obviously the ROM has to be a Sense ROM though.
Honey comb has not been open sourced yet, and Google announced they will not open it possibly at all. So no ROMs till that happens.

Honeycomb is not strictly a tablet ROM, the majority of the changes that are in it are for tablets, but Google has stated that there will not be 2 different paths for Android (one for tablets and one for phone).
Wait for Ice Cream. It should be a mix of Gingerbread and Honeycomb.
Mmmm, Gingerbread Honeycomb Ice Cream sounds good.
My 2 favorite ROMs so far dilligafs and MIUI.... both Gingerbread. If you want Sense, get dilligafs; if you want something blazing fast but looks different, give MIUI a try.

dilligafs is Froyo 2.2.1, not Gingerbread.

You are correct sir, I believe I was thinking of LeeDroids ROM. Another great piece of work, IMHO.
Is there a master list somewhere that shows which ROMs are available? Navigating through the Developers section searching for ROMs is a real pain in the neck!
It would be awesome if there could be a list showing what version (gingerbread, etc), Sense or no-Sense, current version, last updated, etc...
Anyone know of something like this? The sticky in the dev forums is WAY out of date....

Once you know the language (2.2.1, 2.3.3, etc.) it's easier to navigate. In most cases all you need is in the title, just take a few seconds to read it.

Yeah just open ROM manager and look thru the list of all ROMs. Pick one and flash away.
hi guys.. new here with a new skyrocket white. looking to put ics on here and was wondering what the general consensus is on it? everything working great and liking it? or should i stick to gingerbread roms? if so which one is the most popular?
thanks
We don't have ICS yet.

oh sorry i was talking about skyrocket ICS rom.
There all pretty much ginger bread based roms. Sky ICS is great, so is the Coca Cola themed one, test drive a couple and see how you like them. Make sure you follow the devs rule to letter.
hopefully i dont offend anyone here but how come most of the roms on this development section for the ns4g ics based? just asking because i see alot based on ics......

like it or not ICS is a really good upgrade over GB, I personally don't care much for the colors they decided to use, but it works really well. it took me a long time to accept it
you can still find the GB roms though, maybe not so many still in development but I imagine it's pretty hard to make GB much better than what we have already.
I agree. I found it hard to let go of GB because I was on it for so long, but ICS is just so much better IMO in just about every way.
ICS grows on you. I didn't want to move from GB at first either. I'd rather get used to ICS now than later though. It's what android will be like for quite a while.
There's new stuff everyday: HBO Go finally works on ICS, the Nova Launcher finally allows a vertical scrolling drawer, etc.

Because it would be a waste of time developing on anything else when ICS is the most current OS? Is there something I'm missing here?
I think OP question ia how come ns4g have rom based ics eventhough they not receive ota for ics..right?where is the code..
Sorry if im wrong..just ignore my post if im wrong..ahaha

Hey Guys,
My girl has been complaining that her phones been slow and laggy and asking me to "fix" her phone.
I want to throw on a custom rom for her, but need something stable and not buggy at all because she can not trouble shoot herself at all.
I run a cherry picked version of Slimbeam on my ATT s3, but don't know what's popular for you Verizon guys.
I was thinking CleanRom for something not too different then what she is used for but wanted to see if anything else is popular.
I think she doesn't need ASOP being so used to Touchwiz, but definitely want something bloat free etc.
Thank for your help getting me some points with the misses,
Alex
Jellybeans v19 has been what I keep coming back to for the S3. TW based.

If your doing TW then JellyBeans or BoneStock. If you want AOSP, Carbon Rom 10/28.
If she wants TW go with BoneStock, my gf loves it with the purple theme. If she wants aosp go Slim.
Been running and updating Beantown's Jelly Bean ROM since it came out for myself and my wife's phone. To say she (my wife) is technically inclined would be the overstatement of the century however she likes it as opposed to stock. Nice aesthetics and customization but close enough to home she won't get lost.
I have been using tkrom for a while. I love it. Real smooth.

I agree, smoothest rom I've run so far. Couldn't be happier.

Sorry folks, these threads get shut as they always spiral into arguments about which rom is "best"
Users are expected to try them and make their own independent determination as to what suits them.
