[Q] Revert to stock ICS lock ring? - HTC Sensation

I'm trying out a ROM that I like but I'd prefer to use the stock ICS lock ring rather than the customized one that comes with the ROM.
Is it possible to do this? I assume I need to replace a file or something, but I don't know which file, nor do I know where to find a file for the stock ICS lock ring.
Thank you.

This should be what your looking for.

Thanks for that. I had actually tried on of those, but I think you need to have HTC Sense installed before making the change. The ROM I'm using is an AOKP ROM.
I didn't get the desired results when I tried one of the replacement lock rings from the thread.

That lockscreen is from Sense and as such isn't available in AOSP based roms. You could try using widgetlocker

O.K., thanks. That's what I had begun to suspect.

[Q] HTC Sense and metamorph

Obviously the sensation is different but i'm wondering whats possible with metamorph and sense.
Personally i don't like most of sense and prefer my own custom theme.
so just wondering whats possible to change with metamorph/ninjamorph in sense. or can we flash themes from say, the UOT kitchen?
personally i would change the statusbar and the pulldown images, and the menus to gingerbread black.

You won't be able to flash anything until it's unlocked in some way or another.

I honestly don't know about that. I've never used either and don't know much about them, so I couldn't say. Sorry!
anyone else have any experience with sense and metamorph?
you need root. wont work

yes i know we need root, yes i know the sensation won't have it at launch.
But when it does have it, can you use metamorph to morph the images of the UI.

[Q] CRT animation.exe

I know that there are a few threads on this already, but none have been able to provide what I'm looking for.
I am on a stock deodexed tmous 2.3.4 rom, and was hoping someone would make a flashable crt on/off animation zip file. I've tried to use the ones included in custom roms, but the animation ends up being ridiculously slow (not how it's supposed to be)
I don't want to flash any custom roms just yet(I am happy with stock as is)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Try flashing the zip bottom of post 2

[Q] Is it possible to have the Honeycomb lockscreen for other ROMs?

Can the lockscreen from romanbb's ROM ported in a form of apk or so itno other ROms so that we can use the lockscreen with other ROMs?
Thanks
Like this?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.MyLockScreen_free&feature=search_result
it's quite similar, but no lock sign. But it's nice though
Still waiting for other more alike options
Its in latest cyanogenmod too.
so is it possible to port it to let's say ARHD? using apk or flashing.

No, it's not possible unless romannb himslef gives you the code (to implement it) and helps you port it.

try "Ripple Lock" from the market
yes, someone mentioned that before

[Q] Screen off TV animation

I am currently looking for a mod that changes the animation when you turn off the screen, specifically the TV's style (like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Lv1p4TvRw4).
Does anyone know where it can be found?
Thanks a ton.
What ROM are you running? Most ICS aosp and aokp ROMs have that animation

I'm on Virtuous Inquisition. Actually I am going to flash ViperS soon since it has bunch of awesome tweaks. (hopefully the animation is included)

credit to Venom team for developing this awesome ROM.

but you will get 'Sweep2Wake' a feature from Bricked kernel which coming with this ROM.

It's available only on AOSP ROMs. HTC modified their frameworks that break the animation on ics based ROMs. It's not possible to get it running.

I second this recommendation. You can set it to activate with a lobg press of the search key to save your buttons and put tge phone to sleep.
And its got a variety of animations to choose from, including crt off.

you can use cyanogen mod 9_stable!
Thanks for reply guys. Probably I'll wait for a stable JB aosp rom so I can get it working. ViperS is an awesome ROM though.
Btw, I tried Screen off and lock app before but it does not allow you to set it activate with power button (I don't like software button) so ...

Correction - HTC modified their libs to break it.
And P.S this should be in the Q&A section not themes and apps
Try AnimMod
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.animation.changer&hl=en
One more question: If I was on aosp ROM, where could I find the mod? (flashable preferred). I tried those apps before but I like it to have it activated with power button.
I'm planning on flashing some senseless rom, sense UI doesnt suit me.

[Q] NFC On at lockscreen

There are mods for several other devices that keep NFC on when the phone is locked, screen off, ect. For example here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1723193
Would that download work for the HOXL? If not, are there any versions ported for our phone? (I couldn't find any after searching)
Right now I am running CleanROM 5 final, but will be running CM/AOSP eventually.

I'm dying for this feature. The guy who did the one for the international HTC One X couldn't do it for a deodexed ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1713354
If you find anything I'd love to hear it.
some aosp roms have that feature. cm10 does not right now, but others do. im not sure about sense roms.

Hopefully CM will add it soon... I've been holding off on CM/AOSP right now since it seems more laggy than sense does, I can't wait for HW VSYNC/butter to be finished. :fingers-crossed:
In the mean time.. it would be great if a developer could port this over to sense on the HOXL. :highfive:
Solved! I figured out the modifications Nfc.apk needed and made 'em: currently, NFC is active on my phone regardless of whether the screen is on or off and locked or unlocked.
As you guys know from the thread above and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709586, it needs to be built specifically for each ROM. I did it for CleanROM JL Beta 1 which is based on Android 4.1.1 with Sense 4+, so I don't know whether or not the apk would be useful for you. If so, I can post it. If not, I can try to re-build it for your ROM if you'd like - just post a link to the specific ROM you're running and I'll give it a shot.

I think this will work - give it a shot... If it doesn't, I have something else I can try.
I made 2 of 'em - one that should work when the screen is on but locked and another that should work anytime: screen on/off/locked/unlocked/etc. Remember to:
1) Back up your current /system/app/Nfc.apk
2) Rename whichever file you want to Nfc.apk
3) Put it in /system/app (file should be /system/app/Nfc.apk)
4) Set the permissions to 644 (rw,r,r)
5) Reboot
You may need to turn NFC off and back on? It can't hurt to try...
Give it a shot and let me know if it works.
Edit: stand-by, I forgot something...
Update: There we go. Now give it a shot!

It looks like screen off isn't working but lock screen seems to be working... Thank you for taking a stab at this. Really appreciate it!

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback! I'll try one more thing tomorrow...
Just a note, to anyone on Viper, this capability is baked into Viper Tweaks.
Abarash, this works great thank you
Actually it only sort of works for me on cm10.1. I could only read tags after putting this on, no longer could write to tags
