I am switching to Sprint to get on a family plan to save money. I do not mind waiting a little bit. I was about to get the Galaxy S II but I decided to wait. I'm glad I did because I would have been stuck on the 4G Network. Now Sprint has 4G LTE out and I almost bought the Galaxy Nexus but I am still glad that I waited again because I was thinking about the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Then now I find out that the Galaxy S III will becoming out in May/June time line. I do not mind wating and that is a phone that will be worth having for a couple of years and you will not feel bad right after buying it that it is out dated.
My question is. Is the Galaxy Nexus still the better phone for development and support for rooting. Or is the HTC EVO better for features and support. Or will the Galaxy S III have so much support and be the best phone on the planet that this question will be null and void?
I am just looking for an amazing phone with 4G LTE and full dev. support.
Is there a little nasty rumor that the Nexus has better phone quality than HTC and Samsung? Because I am getting sick and tired of nasty android phone quality like on the Dell Streak.
Well anyway any help would be greatly appreciated please post...
The SIII will undeniably become the better phone over time, due to it's performance upgrades that will allow it to outmatch the antique GN; basically, the GN will get G updates, while the SIII will be updated even after the GN dies. For longevity go with the SIII, but if you want a cell for now, go with the GN. Although that would be counter intuitive in all senses.
Ace
Exactly. I do want a phone now but I am not worried about it at all I do not mind at all waiting a couple of months to have a phone last a couple of years.
My last question is which phone has better reception and call quality because I do miss my old blackberry because it had amazing call clarity and reception.

Galaxsy s III is better I think!
When do you think Sprint will get the Galaxy S III?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA Premium App
Most of the time i would pick a phone with removable battery, cause it allows good usage time even when overclocked.
Just like my hd2 overclock to 1.5 with expanded battery still last long. And maybe a sd slot that keeps all my rom favors
Do you think the Galaxs S III will have a fixed battery?

I think for some reason I am now considering the Galaxy Nexus. I dont think the the Galaxy S III is all what it was cracked up to be. I might just get it though because it has SD Card capabilty but the Nexus is starting to look a lot more appealing with all of the 1 click rom support.

I had a Nexus S. I honestly miss it, but the G2x hardware is a million times better. The main thing I miss about the NS is the large variety of roms (I guess cause the phone has more devs since its older) and that 4 inch Super Amoled display.

Left my Nexus One in a pants pocket and ran it through the wash last April. Tried going back to my still perfect launch day MT3G for a week or so but it was too damn slow. After just a few minutes of researching my current on-contract choices I picked up my launch week G2x in a local T-Mo store.
I like my G2x alright, but I do miss my rock solid N1.

And any upgrade would just be an upgrade to the sgs2. So by your logic it would just be a vibrant+++. The sgs2 is the best phone I have owned. And I have had a lot of them. Bigger, better screen, much more storage, nfc, dual core, better camera, possible future lte capabilities, and the list goes on. How are these just tweaks here and there?

I used to own the S 4G, then the S II (T-Mobile), now the Note (International). My advice is to skip the S II and get the Note. The Note international version is expensive and won't work with T-Mobile 3G of course, or you can wait for the Note to come to US (it will likely be with ATT, hopefully T-Mobile).
The S II T-Mobile version isn't a worthy upgrade at its full price, unless you are in a contract and get subsidized of course. The reasons are:
-Lots of people with the T-Mobile version it has screen problems and imperfect screen, including me.
-It's still 800x480 res, the usage experience will be the same.
-T-Mobile version uses Qualcomm S3 cpu, which is no longer considered high end. I could not play HD MKV videos with it smoothly.
If you look around the Note forum there are lots of praise for this phone. The only thing that could hold ones back is the size of the phone and maybe cost.
K I know you guys are all smart ppl can someone. I just got the Skyrocket yesterday but having some regret I think I'm going to go to the nexus on rogers but is it worth it?
Sent from my SGH-I727R using xda premium
The skyrocket has better specs and is lte capable. I think its far better plus ics is right around the corner. I had the skyrocketed from rogers as well sold it last week but its a amazing phone
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Nexus is has old cpu and specs wise Rocket is best. Once we get ics our phone will be best in market.
Definitely keep the skyrocket. I think the nexus may have been a little overrated.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I think our opinions in this forum are a little biased, but that's because most of us LOVE our Skyrockets.
Definitely keep it. Skyrocket has a better processor and a better camera, if you need a couple of reasons...
The only thing I like more about the Nexus is the 720 screen. But for that, you can probably wait for the S3 or the S2 LTE HD (aka Skyrocket HD).
What parts are making you regret it?
The only thing that I don't like about the Skyrocket is the HDPI screen. It wouldn't normally bother me, but coming from an Evo 3D with QHD, it just seems kind of blurry. Other than that, this phone is absolutely amazing.
Thanks for the responses. Definitely clears up. SKYROCKET definitely has better hardware. But on Monday when the note comes out I'll make my decision....depends on the size of that thing.

Honestly I was drawn back by the design cause I came from infuse 4g which in my opinion has a more premium look. Lol...
Sent from my SGH-I727R using xda premium
I hear you about the screen its my one drawback as well. outside of that, this phone has been great thus far. Sucked to here the HD is going hit canada, but not until q2 which by then, more quad core devices are going to be on their way so its not as big of a deal.
I love my skyrocket. Its been the best phone to date I have had. infuse was ok but felt cheaper to me... have a white note coming next week. and cant wait. cause to me its like a bigger skyrocket.. with a few little extras.. but will keep my skyrocket on my spare line. etc..
Funny thing is.. on the skyrocket the stock rom has been so good havent felt the need to install another etc.. unlike say the inspire or infuse or atrix. or the 10 million other androids I have had in the past. etc..
I find it funny that people on the skyrocket forums are not as anal as people in infuse.
Sent from my SGH-I727R using xda premium
Had the Skyrocket. It was good but since I didn't have LTE here it was pointless to keep. Galaxy Nexus is by far better in performance but since it doesn't have LTE skyrocket is faster IMHO

I'm thinking about getting a new phone soon... I wanted to pick up the HTC One X but reading about so many faulty devices over on the forums I'm kinda hesitant now. Still wondering whether or not I should make the plunge; on the other hand the 4S looks pretty interesting as well so that's also an option. So does the Xperia Arc S.
I need to get the phone before Julyish since I'm going overseas to study.
I don't see the newer phones (even One X, Galaxy S3) being much better than the G2x already. Sure they have ICS, but all the apps I run are fine on GB. Plus the extra cost to upgrade vs the ~$200 out-of-contract price of G2x on $30/mo plan doesn't justify it.
With all pricing aside, what's in ur opinion the best phone on the market right now?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
I wana trade my g2x for a nexus s. Or sell and buy a sensation. Won't get a new phone cuz its first new Gen phone. So wait for the better improvement phones

S3 only thing that catches my eye now, waiting until the next nexus line looks, and if LG follows through ill upgrade and sell the phone, if not then I'll keep it is a backup and put the mt3g in my antique case with my g1
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Galaxy Note for T-Mobile, Galaxy S 3 for T-Mobile, Nexus Tablet.
That is what catches my eyes but in reality, my G2X will do just well for like 4 years more just as my Etched Nexus one does. My G1 is just too slow now.
Sensation rocks because the developer support is unparalleled. But the S3 is fantastic, and if you want a big screen the Note is excellent. And the One X, while it does have a few kinks in terms ram management, its arguably the best phone out there. Tried it in the store and it is unreal fast

Screw the carriers and their neutered phones. Sgs3 is getting a dual core across the board in the US. From now on, I'm only buying direct from Google and the carriers can take their contracts and shove them... if you know what I mean. I'm waiting for the next nexus, which should be available to buy by Thanksgiving.

I was going to get the s3 untill they took the quad core out of it.
I didn't really want to wait for the next big device to come out, so I just got a Galaxy Nexus. I really couldn't be happier. I still have my G2x to test some ROMs on and as to use as a backup phone.

Look at the post for the s3 in the general section, and then look at the comparison for the new krait CPU that will be in the sgs3, yes it is a bummer that its only a dual core but how much utilization will a quad be used? With the research I've done I'm more then happy with what the stateside sgs3 has to offer just have to decide other things my previous post stated.
And don't worry my mt3g isn't going anywhere like my g1 its safe and sound lol.

If I stick with android I won't buy another non Nexus phone. If the manufacture updates the phone any it won't be updated for long and in most cases 3 months later there will be a slightly refreshed version that comes along and goodbye support for the phone you got. I had a Samsung Vibrant well you know that support died when the Galaxy S 4G came out You all know the support on the G2X and I also have a mytouch 4G which is running 2.3.4 just like my G2X which I also don't see it getting updated either to ICS.
As long as I know the phone will have xda support and Dec community support from the manufacturer I'll get it. Like the sensation that thing is fully supported, the HTC Vivid that's on at&t is extremely supported, sh¡+ even the G1 is lol....

I jumped ship to the HTC One S. Besides the pentile screen it can hold its own against the One X, if not beat it at benchmarks and in my opinion just as good as anything Samsung is releasing. I love the overall build quality and feel of the One S and the 16gb storage is more than enough for me. I tried to love my G2x, I was even convinced that it was the best phone out there but the software/hardware issues finally got to me.

I flash lots of custom roms to my device, even with the custom roms on, it still lags me out.
So I decided to make a move and change my device hoping it would not be as bad as this one.
Any suggestions what budget android phone with a not-so-bad processor or should I say speed??
Please do reply thanks
I find Galaxy S+ a budget Android phone with not bad speed and some serious customization capabilities. If you have more funds I'd go for SII as it has dual core processor and full cyanogenmod released.
