YouTube crashes in miui rooms I've tried, official one actually, does anyone have a clue about what's going on?

are you using the miui kernel or another custom kernel? sounds like you are using a custom kernel with BIGMEM that depends on the rom to support the BIGMEM.

I was using air kernel, maybe that's the problem. Now switched to matr1x.

is it working now?

It does, but matr1x also support bigmem, I think air kernel forces, while matr1x adapts.

theres two ways to do it.. either the kernel does it and expects the rom to support it(thats how it was in the beginning) or the kernel does it all(most have adapted it this way by now, i think). its just a matter of adding some lib files to the kernel so that it lets every rom work with BIGMEM.

also had problem with any video playback on air bigmem...

Removing Trinity kernel and go to stock kernel

I have wiped my phone more than my own ass but this Trinity will only work solo. I'd rather skip it and keep my cm7 nightlies. Does anyone have a stock kernel? Don't want to reup everything

I'm not sure I understand the issue. If you flash the CM7 nightly it has a kernel buit in so if you just flash the rom and not a kernel you should be running the new nightly minus a custom kernel.
Thank u sir.

Nexus S I/O speed improvement script

Hi,
I saw a thread in the development forum few days ago. It was about a script which improves the io speed but the thread is away. I think it works for all hummingbird devices and the original thread is in another forum but I can't find it.
It would be very cool if somebody share the link.
Thanks

It was deemed as it wasn't necessary. If you want faster I/O flash a rom and kernel that has these tweaks. Such as CM7 and Trinity kernel.

Actually - you can. Try my MIUI ROM since it has even more tweaks, including I/O Tweaks.

[Q] Flashable stock kernel for 2.3.3

I was able to find one from jboxer, but it only gave me a bootloop and didnt work.
Stock gives the best results, faux kernels don't have the performance I'm looking for and Dragons OTA kernel gives random reboots.
Does anyone have a flashable zip of the stock kernel or know how to compile one?
Any help, links, or work and effort is appreciated.

Try Trinity, very smooth.

Trinity is for CM based roms only. Not for stock and OTA.

I don't think there is a Stock Kernel only. You will need to Flash the Complete Gingerbread Rom to get it. The one from jboxer was also a complete Rom.

For stability the modified stock roms are the best IMO (e.g Revolver, Revolution) but lack the features of AOSP roms like (CM9, Gummy or Frozn). As for JB roms they arn't what i would call stable (but useable) but they are very smooth and fast.

Any rom can be overclocked, the Kernel is what manages the overlocking. For Revoultion you want one of these:
Rayman33s Asus kernel : http://goo.im/devs/rayman33/downloads/Transformer/Harmony-Kernel/Harmony-ASUS.zip
or
Guevor's Asus kernel : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1122982&d=1339437783
Remember with overclocking you will loose some battery life... personally i prefer not to overclock... again its personal preferences...

Wipe /cache and /dalvik then flash kernel. I wipe those two again afterwards but you don't really have to.

Hmmm... there's got to be a third choice??.. I know I have read about it somewhere... But what can that illusive third choice be?.. And beyond the perfect pairing I use, there is also air kernel...
(When you can't boot up because you are so damn slow, go back to the forum and find the converter for CM and Aosp... )
Remember Carbon is CM and requires CM unless altered to use what I am running.. Oh that's where the third choice was.. And damn it's smooth!
