Has any one observed that the 4x1 widgets appear squeezed on ICS?
I am seeing this with poweramp, smooth calendar and expense manager. Any do, tweet deck, stuck HTC calendar widget look fine.
Can someone please check and confirm if it is happening for you as well ..

Yep I've spotted that, usually only when you have an additional row of icons, so when you have 5 rather than 4.
I've used apex launcher, with 4 rows and 5 columns, but you must resize the 4x1 widgets to be 5x1
And don't get and squeezing
Swyped form ym Dersie S unsig XAD Permuim
Well I am on stock sense 4
Edit: checked in apex launcher add well, same issue in default and 5x5

If you make it 5 x 4 Apex showed ok? (but you must resize the 4x1 widgets so they're 5x1)
Yup, noticed this on the Power control widget. It's probably HTC's way to make these look better on the One V's 3.7 inch screen, then again, it's probably an unintended bug I always found these squeezed widgets better.
Using 5x5 Apex launcher, i had to make the 4x2 clock 5x3 for it to fit perfectly, otherwise it just looked wierd. For WVGA devices, 4x4 seems to be the best layout.

Yup it works fine if i make it 4 rows and 5 columns in Apex...
Dunno why we have that issue in Sense 4...
What could be done to fix that? Any ideas?
Need to edit rosie i believe...

Well we also have a 3.7 inch screen hence dont think that should be the issue here..
I am more pissed off due to poweramp and expense manager...Maks them unusable...
It's a pain to set up 5x4 screen when one is used to 4x4

You know how with the real htc sense widget you have a neat unlock weather animation that shows the current weather? You know how we couldnt have that before? Well guess what!
Beatiful Widgets just released a update that mimics the htc unlock screen effects perfectly! I added a beatiful home smaller widget to one of my secondary screens(carscreen) and have fancy widget as my main one. When I unlock my screen, I am greeted with the htc unlock weather animation followed by fancy widget! SUCCESS!!!!! The stock HTC sense system perfectly emulated on my X!

that looks amazing man. howd you do it?
neveeeeermind I actually found it
This seems like it would use a lot more battery, processor, and memory for little pay off.
U would have to have the Beautiful Widget updating every so often, providing u with the same info that is being updated by the other weather widget. So if u choose every 2 hours, you are really updating weather 2x every 2 hours.
I do everything I can to keep my battery maximized, not cutting needed stuff, but also not adding duplicates.
Just my opinion.

Looks great! Do you mind sharing the .apk for the fancy widget? PM if willing.

Beautiful widgets is pay right? I have fancy now to replicate the HTC clock but the animated weather would be redonkulous.

sapo decided to bump this for some reason.
This is just a simple tweak to Myn's Sexier Rosie that gives a 5x7 workspace. I have NOT made the standard edits to the various HTC widgets, however - it is more intended to be used in conjunction with Desktop Visualizer and other similar widget programs. HTC Widgets will be truncated and overly small unless edited to fit the 5x7.
So if you like Launcher Pro or other similar launchers, but want the speed of Rosie and don't mind working without 5 launcher bar buttons, hereya go.
As a side note, if anyone has an idea on how to program 5 launcher bar buttons in to Rosie, please contact me, I'd love to chat.

<edit: I should probably mention that the rosie graphic included here was designed by DG4FREE, and uses my Steel on Glass text icons.>
Sounds cool can't wait for widget mods.
I really want to try this; but how do I install it?
I tried mounting system as r/w through SUFBS, but no go.
Do I need to push it via adb or something?
Thanks!
UPDATE: I tried adb push to system/app ... but now I don't seem to have Rosie at all...

Hereya go. Again, this is Sense, not Sense 2. The widget in the bottom left is mClock 4x2, next to Circle Battery 1x1. The line is actually two 1x2 widgets with Desktop Visualizer and a custom graphic. The text icons are 2x1 with Desktop Vizualizer, and there are also two clear 1x1 DV widgets just above the clock.
I use the two line widgets for gmail and sms, and the two clear widgets for alarm and calendar.

are there more people out there which prefere to use htc sense and still be able to customize?
I'm using Desktop visualizer but on my Sensation with sense, but what frustrates me is that my custom icons/images never are seemingless.
my question to you all is, what kinda apps do you use to customize your homescreen while using STOCK SENSE?
and is it possible to change the grid size from 4x4 to say 4x5 ?
Apps i use to customize:
Desktop Visualizer Android Market link
Application folder Application folder
Ok a few screens ive made using Desktop Visuliaer, and Simi folder.
Makes Sense very easy to customize, looks good i think.

It would be nice to postion the icons where you like, rather than be set to almost a grid with Sense.

Its Android ICS, and Sense 3.6. Using the Elegancia ICE rom.
There has been some amazing themes done to this rom, just check out the Elegancia ICS thread in the theme section.
I used a zip to make the dockbar transparent, same as the top bar. And then just rplaced the icons.
Just rember that ICS Sense dockbar is a lot diffrent to Gingerbread dockbar.

Hi can you share your first wallpaper please??Great work!!
This was some i posted for the EVO 3D but the resolution is the same so you can apply without problems.
Hi guys. This Wallpapers are edited by myself and i want to share with you. The Dock is taken from a skin for Sense 4(i don't remember the name of the guy) and it is edited to match perfectly with the Highlighted items in Dock. Also the divider lines for the "All apps" Menu are more separated to match with the selection and the dock was squared(i like it more). All the Wallpapers in qHD(960*540) are in the Zip File, don't download the thumbnails.
After you have applied the Wallpaper go to market and download this skin: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.skin.szp_sade&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5odGMuc2tpbi5zenBfc2FkZSJd
And you should have a Home screen like this:
Pack 1
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Pack 2
Here is the Dock Bar. You can take it to make your own Wallpapers. Just download the Bar, select a Wallpaper(540*960) and center the dock in Paint or whatever program you like to use.

Nice job although these are not sized correctly for sense 4 though. Sense4 resolution is.....1080x960.
Sent from my Elegancia driven Sensation using Xparent Blue taptalk app!
Idk what is the sense 4 resolution, only thing i know is they are resized to 960*540 to apply as wallpaper and they match perfectly like in the pics i posted. At least on a 3.6 Sense ROM they do.
Edit: Ooops!!! I forgot to mention for Sense 3.6 Only.
This is truly brilliant! Dont know why somebody hasnt thought of doing this before! A really easy way of getting sense 4 look on sense 3.6 nice one man!

Here is one more:
Since 4.1 has started to make its way around now do you think it's worth keeping the sense launcher or do you still have a goto launcher that you prefer over sense?

apex/nova are my favorites, never really liked sense.
With 4.1 Rosie and and 4x5 mod I'm very happy with sense.
Nova and apex can be smoother but i love the sense widgets
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I use Apex myself. The free version of Apex has more features than Nova in my experience. The two things missing from Apex compared to Rosie are (1) the amazing Sense widgets and (2) the easy way to add widgets to the home screen.
You probably should just try out the different launchers for a few days each and pick your favorite. It is very much a personal taste thing.
You can always shell out a couple of dollars for HD Widgets or Beautiful Widgets to replace the sense widgets.
Here is my main home screen from Apex, and for reference.

I love the smooth clean look of sense. I've ALWAYS had problems with 3rd party launchers so I tend to stay away from them
I have 2 docks so Apex is a must. Love the swipe gestures too. My desktop setup also requires to be able to overlap widgets.
Gotta admit the Sense Widgets are very pretty and somewhat useful.

I use Nova Prime, which I have grown to love, but I miss the Sense widgets. Sense is actually a decent launcher. The only reason I'm still using Nova is because I used it on my Skyrocket and was able to keep my desktop backup. If I ever took the time to actually recreate my folders, I may switch to Sense.
nova
I like sense, but I feel a little too bounded or restricted or something. Just doesnt feel like it is as robust as it should be. no landscape, no scrollable dock,gestures or eyecandy customizations in sense, which is surprising cause it feels so choppy and laggy on 4.0.
I'm running CleanROM developer edition so I mainly only need sense for the camera and messaging features. I prefer a clean asop look so I can theme it to whatever I'm feeling at the moment. I really have no use for all the social widgets.
