Does anyone knows any tools to view or edit .pak files?

Nvm....
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA

Nvm what?

Anyone help me please.

Pak extractor/explorer tools exist but for real pak files (generally game sprites), but seems your files are not really pak files ... from where come theses files
In your case, it seems files are for or contain Adobe Photoshop CS3 2011 ?

this files comes form tapsonic game for android. can you help me to find software to modify the game?

Tried some explorer but no luck, have no idea how to do else...

keep on tryin man. ill keep searchin too.

Keep on searching!

If anyone found a tool can you please share it or post it here.thanks.

Has anyone had any luck with this?
I've tried about a dozen or more different windows & linux tools to open .pak files, but with no luck.
All the applications I've found all seem to be in some way related to Quake, CoD or any other PC games. None for Android
I've seen that in the build process for an APK you can set the "-pak" flag. I wonder if there is anything in the Android SDK to unpack??

Open it on pc, it works like a .rar (sorry for my english)

This is my main problem

You can right click on the file - open with - and it should open with notepad. Yes you need to save it as unicode but even then you will find it will not work. You need to use a hexeditor and delete the first ff and fe as these are added when saving with notepad.
Would u please explain more, how to find this FF & FE?
I know how to nba files only
Thanks

I tried it without removing those 2 values and it always hangs the device. If in doubt check the file (before and after editing with notepad) with a hex editor and you will see ff and fe are added.

I'm sure I did change the file without doing the removing of FF & FE and it works normaly
But no prob., next time I will try meschle advise
I discovered that the best way to edit any unicode file is by using an old program called editpad (free version copy attached here: ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1130485#post1130485 ) that allows to do, among many other things, to convert unicode to ansi and back to unicode without destroying the file structure. I feel sure many will find this very useful. Also it can be used as direct replacement for notepad by just rename it notepad.exe and over write your window one (or rename it before copying).

[Q] Help with decoding .pak

Hi!
I've been working on a few different game mods over the past few months, and seem to have hit a dead end with particular files.
Namely, a resources.pak file, which I know is a packaged update for the game I am working on. I cannot seem to find anything that will unpack or decompress the file!?
There are a lot of tools out there for .pak files, but all seem to be for Quake Mods, and have specific formats which they expect the .pak file to be in. All of which I have tried have been unable to open / unpack or decompress this file
Has anyone else come across these files? or had any better luck than me in their attempts to get inside the package file??
The .pak file I am trying to unpack can be found at www . dcuonline . co . uk / so / resources.pak (Sorry for the hack, the file is too big to attach, and I don't have enough posts to link directly )
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
Sorry to bump this guys.
Is no one able to assist with this?

if u open the apk as an archive, there are two files that contain the package name
"application.ini"
"androidmanifest.xml"
so u could try changing the values there and see if it works

.pak file extrack

Hi
i recently got an interest in checking a game's file ( Dead By Daylight Mobile) to see if i can mess with them to get perks that ain't in the game yet and stuff like that..
So after a little research i found a .pak file (2 GB of space ) and i wanna ask if someone knows how to extract it to get the files from the inside
( whoever is interested and has the game the pak file is located in Android/obb/com.bhvr.deadbydaylight/main.312289.com.bhvr.deadbydaylight.obb/DeadByDaylight/Content/Paks)
I know some people found a way inside the pak file but i can't find how ....I tried opening it with 7-zip, WinRAR and most of the apps on pc but all of them failed to open it since the .pak was unsupported ......
If someone knows how to extract it please i need some help
Ty in andvance
