are you using a NS or GS? your sig says GS which should have ICS. Is the phone rooted? did you put the update in the correct folder? did you hit restore or manual update?
did u rename the file to update.zip?

Make sure your cwm recovery is up to date. That was the reason it wouldn't let me flash roms so give it a try.

Download rom manager from the market and flash cwm from that.
Download Rom Manager from the Market. And then Flash ClockworkMod Recovery, it will download the latest Recovery.

[Q] Problem when upgrading from GB to ICS from SD Card and OTA

When trying to update from GB to ICS via SD Card, I get this error:

assert failed: mount("ext3","MTD","system","/system")

I tried to update via OTA and fails. Try updating after a hard reset from recovery and still fails. Try updating without being root and yet also fails.
Someone could help me solve this problem please. I have an Atrix 2 AT & T USA.
Try the ICS FXZ: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1961310 you'll need latest Motorola RSD lite program and latest Motorola drivers installed. Hope this works for ya man.

No problem man. Hope you get a taste of the sandwich cuz its good lol!
P.S. Make sure you have a fully charged battery before flashing. Its a quick process but when the Android guy pops up and starts updating after the flash it does take a lil bit time.

RSD lite should look like first attached photo and the FXZ file after extracting should look like second attached photo. Within that extracted file is where the FXZ file is to flash. Has a little a browser looking icon on it.

You have to convert it to Odin tar. There are windows applications to do it. Then flash in Odin.
